There was a line out the door when I arrived. It moved quickly and was worth the wait. I got a fish taco, chicken taco and guacamole and chips. Everything was delicious and fresh. Would have been perfection if chips were served warm. Sangria was also delicious. Water station cups are tiny. Friendly service. I would return.

Great food, wonderful ambiance, excellent experience. Came here on a Tuesday night. The place was packed. All types of people inside and in the backyard seating area. The inside was well lit and clean. The backyard area where I sat was decently lit, covered, and had ornate metal tables and chairs. The people inside and outside were in lively conversations. This place felt alive. I had a pescado plate with a salad, rice, pinto beans, and plantains. The plantains were starchy and sweet and just perfect. The rice was the right temperature moisture and had a hint of lemon. Just great. The fried fish had little bits of pickled red onions on top. The dish came with slices of lime that were really juicy. It was plenty to douse my fish with. The employees wore shirts that said something like take your taste buds on a vacation. I agree. Cholita Linda is really a gem of a place. One of the best places in the area. Edit: Came here again and got 3x tacos (fish, pollo, and carne asada). 5 stars again! Added photos.

The food here is really delicious 🤤. The restaurant has Cuban inspiration. Portions are average... We got tofu tacos, sweet plantains, rice and beans, and chicken plate. 4 stars although for not having the tables clean after every customer, especially now in the pandemic. We'll definitely come back here again.

What a great hidden gem in Oakland! I came by this street a couple times and saw there’s a line out there and finally check it out myself. I have to the admit the vibrant and relaxing vibe really strikes me. The music, plants and interior design all match up to a perfect dating or afternoon catch-up with friends. The food is top notched as well. At first we only order some tacos to sit for a while and would possibly get dinner elsewhere, but the taste is really good so we decided to order the sandwich and plate as well. They both exceed my expectations! This is an amazing place I will definitely recommend to others. Will come by again for sure!

It’s fine food. Very expansive for tacos but they aren’t bad and usually pretty big and well stacked. Just lost points for me because of the price and also the plates aren’t very good. They’re kinda small and pretty bland. The back patio is nice and cocktails are good. My partner really likes their sandwich but I haven’t had them Good place for a taco and drink.

This restaurant offers a small and simple menu, but the quality is outstanding. I particularly enjoy their Pescado de Frito and fish tacos. My only suggestion would be to expand the menu with more options for pescatarians and vegetarians. Despite that, I will definitely return for their excellent fish.

Good spot for a quick bite. I tried a few of their tacos and they were all pretty good. I would say the asada was my least favorite only because it had a Chipotle flavor to it. Which I am sure many people like.

Cubanos were really saucy, a lot of mayo and mustard but only a pinch of shredded pork. It doesn’t taste like previous visits.

The carnita tacos were bomb. The fish tacos have a bit of an aftertaste. The churros were somewhat hard and dry. The salsa was not what I expected. Tacos are pricey. My order was missing items and had to go up more than once.

This spot is definitely a gem for north Oakland. Not your traditional Spanish food but a must try. I had the plantains, fries, fish tacos, steak tacos and Cubano sandwich. All were delicious.

Honestly, I’m not sure it lives up to the hype as much as I’d hoped. While the vibe and decor are as bright and inviting as the welcoming staff, the quieted Cuban flavors left me wanting a bit more. I had the fried pollo cholita plate, but the chicken thigh was overcooked and unfortunately tough and stringy. The beans and rice were excellent though, and I loved the plantains. It’s possible I just got a bad one-off with the chicken, but it still was a miss. The cubano sandwich was much better, though after recently visiting Miami, I couldn’t help but think it could’ve stuck a better landing. I know I’ve been here before and enjoyed the tacos, so maybe next time I’ll focus on the more Mexican-forward portions of the menu. Still, Cholita Linda brings a lot of bright energy on Telegraph which is always fun to walk by.

Cholita Linda is super delish with options for everyone! But- the reason I cannot give them the 5 stars I so desperately want to after dining here for 7 years straight is: The portions for take out are SIGNIFICANTLY less than dine-in. To the point I am hesitant to bring home food for my family from them anymore. Dining THERE is perfect, but ordering? You will get the measliest amount of food for premium prices. Especially the rice (which is arguably the cheapest item in a platter). This change happened over the pandemic where I assume the portions dwindled to save money & keep them afloat. But business is booming. A new location in both SF and Walnut Creek denotes they’re doing well post-pandemic. Fix the take out portions, Cholita and i’ll update my review to a 5 star! I’ll include a picture.

The Real Adore Amore

I have always ordered and eaten at Cholita Linda's for a few years now. Unfortunately, a few nights ago I was greeted with a cricket that was ALIVE! It was still moving , it literally jumped out. I called the restaurant and spoke to Abel, he informed me they do not wash their salad they just take it out of a bag and box it, that's even more alarming and unsanitary. I am still awaiting a follow-up from Cholita Linda themselves. I do not think i will be eating here ever again as I am too shook to do so as well as traumatized. So check your food thoroughly if you eat here!!!
