This late night Korean food in Oakland was much needed after our time at Lake Merrit. We especially loved their galbi and spicy pork with cheese. We even took an order to go of the pork! It's a good place to hang out for late night eats and vibes.
Great Korean restaurant! Very juicy and crispy spicy garlic fried chicken, perfect with beer! Cheese pork has a strong milky flavor, which is delicious with spicy pork! The sauce of seafood pancake is sweet! I ordered fried rice, which I made into balls by myself and dipped in the sauce of spicy chicken feet, which is really delicious! The spicy chicken feet are very rich in flavor, but spicy, and the meat is very tender! The waiter is very nice and gentle! A perfect dinner, I will come again next time!
A very cute Korean place with good vibes. The menu has a wide variety of food, Korean stew, fried chicken, and even marinated raw crab. Price is very reasonable given that the portion is quite large, it is recommended to visit this place as a big group so you get to try more food. They also open till late, so it will be a pretty good spot for those who want some late night food and drinks.
I was craving spicy marinated crab so badly lately — and I can’t believe I found such a gem so close to home after living here for a year! Their spicy marinated crab is amazing: super fresh, soft, and flavorful. Wrap it with rice and seaweed, or just mix it into a big bowl of rice — it’s heaven. We also tried their Hanshin Dakbal (spicy braised chicken feet), pork mozzarella cheese fondue, and sweet & spicy fried chicken. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Definitely one of my new favorite Korean spots in Oakland. Can’t wait to come back again!
K-dramas totally got me craving Korean food—had to come satisfy it at this late-night Korean spot! Perfect for when you want to try a little bit of everything. Open until late! My favorites: 🦀 Spicy Marinated Crab 🐥 Hanshin Dakbal 🍲 Beef Soft of Jjigae 🍙 DIY Rice Ball
Grilled Whole Squid: The portion was huge—it caught my attention. The flavor was super rich and deeply marinated. It’s that kind of chewy squid that still bites clean. Hanshin Dakbal (Korean Spicy Chicken Feet): fall-off-the-bone spicy chicken feet. The heat really hits if you’re into spicy food—you have to try it! (And don’t worry, if you can’t handle spicy , they provide clear soup to dip and balance it out!) Sweet & Spicy Boneless Fried Chicken + Fried Rice Cake: The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. It’s sweet and spicy in flavor (but really not spicy at all!). The rice cakes were a surprise—crispy outside but soft inside, nothing like the usual sticky kind I don’t like. What’s amazing is that they still taste good even after sitting for a while! Bulgogi Hot Pot: The sweet-savory balance was just right, and yes—you can drink the soup! Inside were beef and mushroom glass noodles, super tender and flavorful. DIY Rice Balls: These were so fun to make! You mix and shape them yourself. They give you tons of crispy seaweed that smells incredible once mixed, plus a generous drizzle of mayo—rich, savory, and satisfying in every bite! P.S. Looks like their soy marinated raw crab is a signature dish, but unfortunately we don’t eat raw seafood, so we skipped it. If you like it, definitely go for it! This place is close late too, perfect for drink soju and late night dinner with friends.
loved this restaurant! the atmosphere was so chill and the music was awesome. the food was hot and delicious i enjoyed every bite. there service was fast and kind. definitely coming back i love the late night hours. we ordered, sweet and spicy boneless chicken and japchae.
Such a gem for late-night Korean food in Oakland! Came here with friends around 9pm and the place was still buzzing—feels just like a Korean street pub, super laid-back and cozy. Great spot to hang out, chat, and eat way too much food (which we totally did). We ordered a bunch of dishes and honestly loved them all: • Yangnyeom Chicken – Whole fried chicken, not just wings or legs! Super crispy outside, juicy inside, and smothered in that sweet & spicy Korean sauce. Addictive. • Spicy Chicken Feet – First time trying Korean-style chicken feet and I’m hooked. Soft, flavorful, with a good spicy kick. • Grilled Squid – Came out sizzling on a hot plate. Charred, chewy, and super tasty—like something you’d grab at a night market. • Bulgogi Hot Pot – Comfort in a pot. Tender beef, glass noodles, veggies, and a rich, slightly sweet broth. Perfect for late-night. • Clam & Mussel Soup – Light, clean, and refreshing. Great balance to the richer dishes. • Seafood Pancake – Crispy, loaded with seafood, and even better with the dipping sauce. • DIY Rice Balls – Fun to make and surprisingly flavorful! Would be great for kids too. The vibe here is just right—dim lighting, casual but not grungy, and packed with people even late into the night. Definitely a solid go-to for anyone craving Korean food after hours.
Went to Hanshin Pocha in Oakland after work for a Korean dinner with friends — the vibe was great, the food perfect for pairing with drinks, and prices were reasonable. Our server was also, not gonna lie, quite handsome! Must-try dishes: • Spicy marinated crab: Comes in spicy and original flavors. Pro tip: wrap it with rice and seaweed like a sushi roll — absolute flavor bomb! • Grilled whole squid: Super fresh, chewy, and the sauce is so good over rice. • Beef short ribs: Sweet and savory, thick-cut, and super satisfying to bite into. • Whole fried chicken: One of the crispiest I’ve ever had — eat it hot! Don’t skip the pickled radish to cut through the grease (their radish is amazing, wish they sold it separately). • Sides: Fries and fried rice were great value and delicious — $7 and $10! Parking: You can park on the street, behind the building, or at the T-Mobile plaza nearby for more safety.
Hanshin Dakbal 👏👏👏👏👏 Spicy stir-fried chicken feet—super flavorful and tender! Served sizzling in an iron pan, incredibly satisfying. Must pair with rice and take a big bite. Gochu Maneul Chicken 👏👏👏👏👏 Sweet and savory garlic soy fried chicken—crispy outside, juicy inside. Every piece is evenly coated in sauce. Absolutely delicious! Spicy Marinated Crab 👏👏👏👏 Authentic seasoning. Personally, I don’t find it very spicy. Love mixing the crab meat and sauce into rice and adding some crushed seaweed. So good! DIY Rice Ball 👏👏👏👏👏 Golden tuna rice balls are a must! You can make them smaller, but we were lazy and made four giant lion heads 😂 Fishcake Soup 👏👏 Soup is fresh, but the fishcake texture is a bit firm—kind of like tofu. Gummy Bear Soju 👏👏👏👏👏 Surprised they serve soju with gummy bears! Definitely eat the gummies after drinking—somehow tastes even better! 🍻
Hanshin Pocha finally opened in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood. Yay! The Best Late night spot for Korean Street Food and it’s so good!! Everything we ordered was so delicious and full of flavors! The Korean Fried Chicken was delicious, it was sweet, spicy and crunchy. The chicken feet is a must order- fall off the bone collagen deliciousness with a hint of sweet and spicy, it would be so good with some beer or Soju. The DIY Rice ball was so much fun to make, and the BBQ pork with cheese was so good. Make sure to bring your friends and family for a yummy dinner or late night snack with delicious drinks! So much fun.
Food was delicious. Might be my favorite Korean spot in the Bay Area. The kimchi fried rice was mixed with cheese and the flavor was not overpowering. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy. The real winners were the tteokbokki and kimchi jigae. I want to go back.
Food and vibe are on spot! Love this place. Fried chicken is the best I’ve ever had in the Bay Area. The grape soda is a must! I don’t understand some 2-3 stars comments mentioning fried chicken being oily - Hey come on it’s deep fried that’s why it’s so crispy outside and juicy inside! 🤣; or complains about food being pricey - I mean it’s a bit more expensive than LA k-town for sure but excuse me and look at where we are! Plus their portion is huuuuge! The meal we paid fed us two whole meals. The first time we went is when the chef was researching for new dishes and we ended up having samples! By samples I mean two huge Jumeok-bap for free! That’s the best Jumeok-bap I’ve ever had. Even better than the ones I had when I was traveling in Korea. Anyway it will always be our to-go Korean restaurant in Oakland.
⸻ Absolutely loved this Korean-style izakaya in the Bay Area! 🏮 A perfect late-night spot for fried chicken, hot pot, and Korean street food vibes — open until 12:30am, which is a huge plus! Here’s what we tried and loved: 🥣 Clam Soup – Don’t let the clear broth fool you. It’s packed with fresh, juicy clams and tastes incredibly light yet flavorful. A perfect palate cleanser after all the fried dishes. 🍗 Korean Fried Chicken – A must-try! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in flavorful sauces (soy garlic, sweet & spicy, or original). What I loved most is that they serve whole chopped chicken, not just wings – so satisfying and tasty! 🐔 Fried Whole Chicken – Similar to a spring chicken — small but tender and full of flavor. Super crispy skin without being greasy. Dangerously addictive! 🦑 Sizzling Squid on Hot Plate – Served piping hot and sizzling! The squid was tender and well-seasoned, paired with onions and a bold Korean sauce. Great with rice or drinks! 🍲 Army Stew (Budae Jjigae) – Ultimate comfort food. Loaded with ramen, tofu, spam, rice cakes, and more in a rich, spicy broth. Warms you right up! 🎵 The atmosphere is lively and cozy — like a Korean street bar with K-pop music playing and warm lighting. Great for hanging out with friends, date night, or even just grabbing a drink and chicken solo. Delicious, affordable, and full of late-night charm. Definitely coming back!
Very good food, good vibes and great customer service!! My favorite dishes are DIY Rice Ball, Pork BBQ with Cheese, and Kimchi Soup. Will be back to try out the Dakbal (chicken feet) which is propagated to be Hanshin’s popular dish.
We always go here and it’s our go to Korean spot in Oakland. We’ve even shot a food review here and the service is always top notch. But today, our first time meeting and being served by Daniel and he’s got to be one of the best servers we’ve been helped by. Always attentive and always checking in at the RIGHT TIME. We felt comfortable right away and he made it better with his presence. Ambiance and food is always great here but the service we have received was another cherry on top. Thank you Daniel. What a great dinner once again from Hanshin Pocha. Also wanted to add the tall lady who’s always wearing glasses and long skirt. She gives me wholesome manager vibes but very attentive and helpful as well. Wish we got her name! Kimchi Jeongol 10/10: spice level is at a medium and tolerable. Fried Gizzards with fries: 9/10 - flavor is amazing and addicting. Perfect pair with your alcoholic drinks. Giving it a 9 cuz it could get quite greasy but the flavor was just too good to not eat it.
Hanshin Pocha is an amazing Korean restaurant that offers an incredible dining experience. The food served there is absolutely delicious, with a wide range of authentic Korean dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate. From mouthwatering barbecue to flavorful stews and delectable side dishes, every bite at Hanshin Pocha is a burst of flavor and a true culinary delight.
Super fun and lively pocha, with tons of delicious food too! The seating is open and spacious, and the ambiance is great, feels just like a pocha in Korea. Not to mention, the food is bomb! 😋 My favorite item was the spicy pork belly with cheese; the pancakes and marinated crab 🦀 (their specialty) are super good too. Definitely an awesome place to hang out with friends and grab some great drinks and food!🍻🥘
Clean Korean pub vibe. Food was great and service was above and beyond. We tried tomato sauce geran-mari, diy rice ball, fried rice, pork bbq with cheese, soy marinated blue crab, and jeon gol (like Korean army stew). Pork BBQ with cheese is is must have. Soy marinated crab was pretty good. Tomato sauce geran-mari was beyond pur expectation good. Fried rice didn't come out as grilling hot as expected and was spicier than we expected (we were expecting crunchy scorched fried rice on the hot stone but ours wasn't that hot as temperature wise) The service was above and beyond. They were very good at giving us water. Our bbq pork and cheese got cold and hard as we had a variety of food on our table to enjoy. I asked if we could get it reheated. They happily reheated for us AND gave us more cheese (I believe they may of overheard us with low spicy tolerance and accommodated us). I strongly recommend this Korean Pocha especially for late evening cravings and social gatherings.

It's a Korean restaurant with variety of hot pot, fried chicken and bowls. Service was OK. Staff was responsive. Indoor seating with booths and tables. Ambient is a bit KPop style with KPop show playing on big screen with nice music. Ambient can easily get laud. Food was not as expected, bowls were so sweet watery, no ingredients, tasteless. Classic Fried chicken was so oily, fatty low quality meat. Items are very expensive. Just check the menu! For sure you can get better food else where! None (group of four) could finish their meal despite starving. We ended up MacDonald opposite street for a bite to just change the taste! They seem to play up the game much ahead of tariff/inflation hit! Understand it's a chain reaction and their cost might have gone up too and sorry for businesses :(
