The rolls here are gigantic, super delicious, and tasted very fresh. We ordered on the phone and our food was ready pretty quickly. They also have a parking lot on the side. They have lots of rolls to choose from on their menu. Will definitely come back!

We ordered three rolls and they were so good! Best sushi place in Oakland. The Volcano Roll is one of my favorites! There is outside sitting and it's really cute to seat out there. Also, huge plus because they do have outside parking. But it's very limited.

LITERALLY UNBELIEVEABLY GOOD! I have a peanut allergy and they were able to accommodate it!! Had the tempura rolls and the HAPPY HOUR is AMAZING. Prices are so low and the portions of sushi are BIG!!! Seriously had a feast. Fresh Rice...and the quality of the sushi and the late hours is soooooo crazy! YUM YUM YUM

At this location I love the rolls. Always presentable, generous portions, balanced . My faves are the Kansai and i wanna say new port but it may be bay scallop (you can taste the difference).

Wanted to try their happy hour 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The food was good but unfortunately one of the dishes we had ordered had a piece of hair in it. When we notified the waitress she wasn't to nice about it but eventually offered a new plate.

Great happy hour menu. Fish was fresh. It was a Sunday evening so there was a wait for our food but service was great. Would visit here for a quick fix . A good amount of indoor seating.

This was my first time dining here, and the atmosphere was nice. We started with appetizers: tuna tataki and spicy tuna salad. The flavors weren’t very Japanese, and the spicy tuna salad in particular was a bit too mushy for my taste. The seaweed that came with it was also a little soggy and wilted rather than crisp. I also ordered a spicy tuna hand roll, which was decent. For the rolls, I tried the Wendy Roll and the Lion King Roll. Both were quite creamy and heavy, so I found myself needing extra wasabi (though their wasabi wasn’t very spicy). The portions overall were very large, so you definitely get a lot of food for the price. Overall, the food was decent and filling, though not especially memorable. I wouldn’t call it authentic Japanese sushi—it leans more toward American-style rolls. That said, the happy hour prices are very reasonable and make it worth trying if you enjoy that style. What really stood out was the service. The staff checked on us often, made sure everything was okay, and cleared the table quickly so it didn’t feel cluttered. For service, I’d give a full five stars. For food, about three stars—good enough to enjoy, but not outstanding. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

the California roll was good. The veggie roll was horrid. It was huge and made like it was estabalished by trash. Spicy tuna was a little too spicy but other than that it was great.

Ordered some nigiris over the phone for pick up. When I arrived to pick up my food, the place look dead empty inside, it look like most people just order food togo from here. I ordered a lot of food, from salmon, to tuna, yellowtail, salmon roe, squid, ascola, and other. I think either the cook changed or the quality went down, because the sushi was not very fresh, and they seem sloppy put together. I think this will be my last time here.

Sigh... where to start... they always say that first impressions always are the ones that count the most. Unfortunately, this first impression turned out to be a bad impression. This was a dinner for our daughter's 15th birthday dinner. She loves Japanese food, so we ordered a variety of food for dinner on her special day. We ordered the Sushi & Sashimi platter, which was almost $50, for the birthday girl. For the rest of the family, we ordered beef teriyaki donburi, Katsu donburi, and a California roll. The expensive Sushi & Sashimi platter was pretty with an assortment of fresh fish (3 each of tuna, salmon, hamachi), 8 piece California roll, and 8 piece Nigiri. My daughter said the fish was good but the Sushi rice in the nigiri and California rolls were undercooked. The rice kernels were just dry and hard with bits of crunchy raw rice. The beef teriyaki donburi was pretty good with tender strips of grilled beef and plenty of sauce to go along with it. The meat had a nice grilled burnt taste and was not dried out or tough and chewy. The rice that was included was undercooked as well. The Katsu donburi was, I think, the worst I've ever tasted. Every mouthful was a bite of disappointment. Not only was the rice undercooked, crunchy, and extremely dry like it was from the day before and microwaved, but the pork katsu was one of the saddest pieces of pork I've ever seen. A proper pork katsu should be at least half an inch thick. The Kansai version looked like it was a candidate headed for a meat jerky factory. In other words, it was thin, hard, and drier than roadkill on a lonely desert road. Even the egg and katsu coating felt bad for it and tried to revive the pork, but they ended up dried up too.. sigh... I ended up giving most of the food to the dog to eat. At least he didn't complain or mind eating it. The dishes also came with the standard miso soup, which was okay, nothing to write home about... the salad had that sweet sesame mayo dressing that was pretty watered down. Overall, the sushi and sashimi was just okay, except the beef teriyaki was good and the katsu is to be avoided at all cost. If I could rate each individual dish or would be 4 for the fish and beef teriyaki and -4 for the katsu.

Me and my girlfriend went here for dinner i got seaweed salad with spicy tuna it ended up not being great and didn’t taste right but i decided to look past it , my girlfriend got a flower roll and salmon sashimi, she liked it until….. later the night went on she got food poisoning i tried her sushi and didn’t like it due to it not tasting fresh an told her it didn’t seem right but didn’t realize after the fact it was actually bad with that being said i don’t recommend this place my girlfriend was throwing up for 2 hours and definitely ruined her and my night , thank you kansai👏

trying to sake bomb and the waiter made everyone not drinking pay for a meal, when we were confused as this was never a thing the waiter lost his cool and told us to leave. the manager came and we calmly tried to have a conversation and he told us to leave and that the waiter didn’t want to serve us. we were not rude or aggresive and the waiter just went on a power trip and kicked us out.

The lion king roll tastes like Parmesan cheese with cheese sauce and cheese crust and the other half tastes like sweet crab. I ate half of the lion king and that was it, unfortunately these don’t taste so good or like the lion kings I have had before. As much as I appreciate the late night delivery time and you can definitely see the portion is big, these are huge, not worth it.
