Our favorite pizza joint for the margarita, vegan, and combo pizzas. Two 10" pizzas are a great order for two of us to get a few meals. And I love going in to pick up because the girl with the big hair bow picks great music to listen to while I'm waiting.
very cute little pizza spot, ordered pick up and was in and out. got the 20" green goddess pizza, sooo good but it was HUGE. so if you don't eat a lot or don't have someone to share with, enjoy the expensive leftovers. definitely recommend going at least once. they also offer a ton of vegan and gluten free options
I don't make it to this part of town that much anymore, partially because it's just always impossible to find a parking spot, and also there's not a whole lot of restaurants that I like here Asmara. I've walked by Pizza Ponte a few times, but was always in a rush or just not down for a slice. Tonight went in ordered their pepperoni took the slice and ate it out doors with their ghost chili sauce, and it was a truly great slice of pizza, good dough, fresh tasting ingredients, and obviously cooked in a really hot oven, which is the hallmark of New York style pizza. Almost all pizza in the Bay Area cost around $5 a slice now, and this was a little heavier and had more bulk than most, which made me happy. Also you can order a pizza here, and order one of the fine beers at the local bar next door the North Light, Which I did. (Nearly $10 for a pilsner is expensive as hell, but what are you going to do. That's Oakland these days) Great pizza, right next door to some great beer and drinks. Highly recommended!
This is my go to place for pizza. I've eaten at a number of pizza places around including some with exquisite reputations and I find the pizza here is just perfect and I don't need to go anywhere else. They have some tables outside which I really enjoy beause it's very pleasant to eat there and it's fun to do people watching as well.
I am eating the vegan pizza right now, and I had to stop to write this review. This pizza is amazing! The crust is a perfect combination of soft and crispy, and the vegan cheese is absolutely delicious. I happened upon this little place and I'm so glad I did! Would definitely come back.
I moved to Oakland almost a year ago and have tried every slice of pizza I can get my hands on. Pizza Ponte reigns supreme. From their thin crust to their D-town, it’s all delicious. Always on the lookout for a pizza joint to dethrone this champ. Let you know when I find one.
Fabulous Nee York style pizza by the slice. Seating is limited but the vibe is nice and it’s all about the pizza. Mmmm.
Cute little Euro Style establishment that delivers yummy pizza. We got a slice of pesto to share while we waited and took home the pepperoni (halal made with beef instead of pork)
Fantastic pizza. Perfectly crispy crust. Very nice people serving food.
wanted to check out a new pizza spot and as soon as I stepped in, I was met with very kind and welcoming energy from Ariana! Took her recommendations (genoa pesto slice and stracciacella slice) and it was absolutely yummy!!! Definitely recommend to everyone!!!
Great pizza. Both deep dish and thin crust. Whole pies or by the slices. Highly recommend.
This is the best pizza I’ve had since moving from NY to CA… Eating it reminded me of home. Will be back!
Sleeper hit: found out about this place through the SF Chronicle and the story is about two bros under 25 wanting to open a pizza place. I got the Combo Combo, and the crust and the toppings, everything was so good, the prices are low as the owners are alums of Oakland Tech High and wanted to keep prices low so kids can still afford. Can’t beat the price and flavor and again that crust. Wowser. I’m still thinking about it.
If you are buying by the slice, go here. This is the only legit East Coast style pizza in the Bay Area I've found so far, and I've looked a lot. As a 30 year Boston native who has been living in the Bay Area for the past 2 years, there is a surprisingly low amount of places to get quality pizza. A lot of places advertise themselves at East Coast pizza but it's clearly West Coast garbage. This place, however, clearly makes their own dough from scratch and they cook it right. The slices came out fresh and are massive - I bought two but really only needed one.
This is spot is all star. The green pizza was absolutely delicious. Perhaps they figured out how to mix that Afghan taste with the pizza.
INCREDIBLE! I am a pizza expert; from Chicago, lived in France & Italy and PIZZA PONTE is easily the best in the East Bay. I used to think bay area pizza was meh- nope, this place schooled me. + it's family-owned..."do the right thing" & only get pizza from here... it'll blow you away! 12 stars if I could!
Great pizza. Love the one person size pizza and custom pizza with 6 toppings. crust is great and good quick service Not a cute shop so def more a take out place
Ariana was excellent. Amazing vibes and really answered every question we had with comprehensive answers. The pizza was yumtown, creamy sauce, luscious leaves and crispy crust. What’s not to love. Great experience. Will be coming back expeditiously.
Best pizza I’ve had since moving back to the Bay. Absolutely slaps every time. Crust is thin crispy PERFECTION. Great service from Arianna! I visit at least once a week for a slice and suggest you do too.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily one of my top picks for pizza in the area. The crust has that perfect balance—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside. Toppings are always fresh, and you can tell the sauce is house-made (just the right amount of tang and sweetness). Whether you go classic cheese or something more loaded, the flavor is always on point. The place runs like a well-oiled machine. Orders are ready on time, the dining area’s clean, and everything just feels dialed in. A big part of that smooth operation is Arianna, who works up front. She keeps things moving, handles the rush like a pro, and still manages to be welcoming and friendly. You can tell she cares about the customer experience, and it makes a difference. Great food, great service—definitely a go-to spot. Highly recommend.
I don’t say this lightly… but this is THE BEST pizza in Oakland. The crust, the toppings, the consistency, 10/10 stars. Spicy ranch? Get outta here. New York style and Detroit style? Both flawless. Also this is a SMALL family owned business that we should all be supporting as often as possible because these brothers deserve it endlessly. They’ve created such an awesome neighborhood spot and we are so, so lucky to have them!
The test of good New York style pizza is a plain slice, and this place did not disappoint. Perfectly crisp crust, bright fresh sauce, the right amount of cheese (good cheese I might add). There are only two outside tables and no other seating - a few more tables would be nice. The guys working there are lovely and they know their pizza. We will go back for takeout, and for slices if they add a bit more seating.
This is the best pizza in the Bay Area. Maybe the best pizza in the pacific time zone. Hyperbole? You wish. The crust is thin, crispy, yet light, with a nice chew. Cornmeal graced the bottom of the slice. Slices and pies available. There is a lot of really good pizza in the Bay Area, but few, if any, will be able to hold a candle to this pizza. I’m genuinely shocked by how good this pizza is. Toppings are creative but not overwhelming. The pizza was always the star of the show. They also have beer and salads. I didn’t try the Sicilian or the Detroit slices as I’m partial to Neapolitan pizza in general. The Sicilian slices looked good if you’re into that. Seriously - Get in here before you have to wait in line.
Absolutely delicious! Pizza Ponte has quickly become one of my favorite spots. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, every bite feels like it was made with real care. On top of that, Ariana is the hostess with the mostest. She makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in, balancing warmth and professionalism with ease. Her energy sets the tone for the whole experience and makes dining here that much better. If you’re looking for amazing pizza paired with genuinely great hospitality, this is the place. Highly recommend!
The pizza was great. The staff were very kind. I’ve found my new favorite spot. Thanks guys.
I've ordered pizza from this place a few times since I work nearby. I really like the thin, crispy crust. Super yummy. Ate at the restaurant with my two boys and they had a great time! Arianna was super friendly and helpful. So sweet to my kids.

My partner said slices were really really good but please make the vegan slice available not just on tuesdays!! I would love to have it

Great addition to the neighborhood. My favorite was the New York and Roma pepperoni!
Fantastic. Delicious pizza, the staff was so kind and friendly to me and my two very small kids even though they’re a little psychotic, they let us sample a new sandwich they’re working on that is absolutely amazing. My 3yo son loved it and has asked to go back every single day. My baby spilled our soda and one of the customers in the store bought us a new one unsolicited, altogether a perfect experience and we will be back. We loved every second, we will be back.
The most crack pizza EVER!! This pizza beats the pizza I had in Rome, which until now, was top of my list! Family-owned and very sweet, hard working family. Greek Goddess and Genoa Pesto pizzas are must-have! And don’t forget to ask for their house made “ranch” to put on top! Soooo good!
Wow! Came here randomly and the crust on the NY slices was incredible!! Super thin, crispy crackly crust. Amazing. I feel like so often when you get a thin crust pizza they’re really soggy, so this was great. The Detroit style was good too, and the Nonna was fine but skippable compared to the others. My only note was that most of the NY pies weren’t really calling to me. Besides pepperoni and cheese, they had buffalo chicken, a white/pesto one, and a tomato/pesto one. I would rather see classics like vodka, mushroom, veggie, sausage, etc, but I’m sure they rotate flavors, and the pepperoni was great :)
Great pizza! Small shop, which is an indicator that it’s going to be delicious! One of the workers let us try the sandwich that they are going to release later this week. 10/10. I’m definitely coming back once they release the sandwich. Try the bad guy and buffalo chicken, you wont be disappointed.
If you’re craving authentic New York-style pizza, Pizza Ponte is the place to go! 🍕 The sauce and cheese are just perfect — rich, flavorful, and oh so satisfying. The crust isn’t too thick, not too thin, just the right balance for that perfect bite every time.
This place rules. Great slices with a thin, crispy crust, served up fast, reasonably priced. Absolutely better than it has to be. Nice touches like free ranch for dine in, shaved Parmesan on top and fresh basil sprigs. Great, unpretentious pizza. The rewards program is also always giving me a free slice.
This is my go-to pizza slice joint on Telegraph. Great pizza options and a quick turn around with friendly service. I typically eat inside and it’s great that they give you squirt bottles of the sauces if you want extra. Buffalo chicken pizza is my favorite!
This is New York style plus plus pizza, both in the crust and the toppings. However, unlike some New York style pizza, it is not over-covered in toppings so you can still taste the crust and not a cheese bomb. The ingredients and toppings were top quality. There is no indoor seating, though there is a couple of tables out front, which are typically in use. It’s a top five pizza in the Bay Area for sure.
This is one of the best pies in the bay area. Got the cheese with added pesto. They added basil leaves too, which was a nice touch. The tomato sauce was on the sweeter side which didn’t bother me one bit but it’s worth noting. I grew up in the area and wish there was something this good when I was a kid. Just a few doors down from the original Genova deli, this tiny pizza spot is an asset to the neighborhood and greater bay area. The only complaint is the pizza boxes are TOO NICE. The Oakland oak tree logo was a nice touch but with the glossy cardboard, I didn’t know whether to recycle, compost or hang it on my wall. With pizza this good, we don’t need a glossy pizza box.
I've been a pizza fanatic for decades. I love trying out all sorts of new pizza spots in the SF Bay when I catch wind of them. I love all styles and variants of pizza. For me, the craft and care that becomes the quality end result is all that matters. Pizza Ponte is hands-down my favorite pizza joint in the SF Bay. I've come several times from across the bay to enjoy a few different pies, and I just have to say, "Wow!" What Seyar and Spehar are doing here is world class. From the care and craft of the dough where it expresses a depth of flavor from the fermentation to airy loft that still retains the crispiness of the bake to the superb balance of toppings, sauce and crust for every bite. I couldn't be happier with what they're doing. While waiting for my order today, I got chatting with Seyar about pizza around the Bay and in NYC. He recently took a trip to NYC to research. What I found out is that he has a keen palette and objectivity to cut through hype and to be confident in what he feels is okay vs. good vs. great. That ability to discern, and the fact that he expressed that as good as I like the pizza right now, he feels they have more to go to push themselves to better. These guys and their team is what creates greatness out of any endeavor, and they definitely represent the hope of getting to great through hard work, relentless pursuit of better, and a critical palette. Can't wait to see where these guys go in the pies ahead! I'm here for all of it. 🍕✨

The pizza was decent NY Style thin crust. Certainly better than nearby chain outlets, but not the best I have had. The service was friendly, the small store was clean and well kept, the prices were reasonable, and the place is open late. Overall, a good place in the neighborhood when you have the urge for late night pizza.
Our first time trying this pizza place, we got a combo pizza. The toppings were pepperoni, sausage, peppers, olives, ham, and maybe mushrooms too. The crust was crisp on the bottom and absolutely delicious. I usually leave the crust out when I eat pizzas but I ate it this time. Toppings were very generous which I lovedddd. It came with some sort of cheesy dipping sauce which was also delicious. Only taking a star off because we’ve eaten better pizza in different states but this is my top choice in the area for sure!
We went for a quick bite. There’s not much seating area, maybe 4 or 5 spots at the window. Theres enough choice for people to find something for themselves. My partner chose a classic slice of cheese pizza and I got the D-Town. Both were pretty good in flavor but I personally found them too cheesy and too greasy (a good problem to have, I know). If you like cheesy NY style pizza you’ll love this place, the staff was friendly and efficient. My partner loved their slice and said it’s the best pizza in the world, so it all comes down to preference.
Amazing pizza! Decided to stop by after seeing an article on SFGATE and I'm so glad we did. Their Green Goddess is one of the tastiest slices of pizza I've ever had. The pepperoni & sausage was also good. I'll be back for an entire pie next time!
Artichoke has been my go to for some time but since I was in the neighborhood, figured I would adventure out a bit and try something different. Pizza Ponte sells by the slice which is great, meaning I could easily drop in and get a couple bites in. The shop is small but quick to order to hand over the food. I liked the pizza quite a bit! Not too much flop, wonderful, savory flavors in the pepperoni. The green goddess was also a perfect match for my wife. For some reason it didn't come off too special, but every bite left me feeling more, and more... and more as if I needed another! That's a great feeling. All considered, I have to come back here and try it again.

Pizza is pretty good, got the New York style pepperoni, sauce is on the sweeter side which I like but my partner did not. Crust was a little spongy but still quite good. Vibe at the place wasn’t great, there was a group of men standing on both sides of the door outside just chatting, seemed like maybe friends of owners or owners themselves and had to ask them to move to enter. Guy running the register wasn’t super welcoming/didn’t greet me or anything, not a big deal but just didn’t make you feel welcome. Ordered a pizza for takeaway and showed up to pick it up 5 minutes after the scheduled pick up time and it was on a metal rack without any method of keeping it hot, we needed to microwave when we got home (live 2 minutes drive away) to get to satisfactory temperature. Overall solid pizza but not super great experience. Will give them more shots and hopefully better next time.

Employee was extremely rude when picking up our order. Extremely condescending after what was simply a misunderstanding that made both me and my partner incredibly upset with the service provided. We were nothing but polite during the entire interaction.
Their vegan pizza is tasteless. But even worse, the attitude I received by the cashier or maybe manager was nasty when I asked for a refund. They acted like there’s no such thing as a delicious vegan pizza. I’ve had plenty of delicious vegan pizza in Oakland! Businesses that believe vegan food should taste like nothing should stay away from offering vegan options. I came here because I saw they were promoting their vegan pizza and I was so excited and to be treated like this was so disappointing.
