Oh this place has wonderful dinners and great vibe. And u still can't dine in yet but there food is worth it . My oldest son loves there cannelloni I love their smoked salmon and pasta and their Chefs salad and brick oven pizza.. It's been in tha same family for over 40 years.. 🎈💯
Great pasta and pizza, have not had anything I didn't like here
Perfect everytime! Homemade Italian bread. Family run .Fresh mouth watering pasta sauces. Bubbling pizza crusts from simplest toppings to decadent stuff. All so good! Our favorite dish is penne pasta with meatballs drenched in a the most delicious marinara sauce and the fresh green salad with blue cheese crumbs and the homemade vinaigrette. Its the saddest day when we pull up and they're closed for vacation days in summer. 😢. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolute best pizza in the Bay area. Authentic Italian cuisine made from a secret family recipe. Delicious crust and perfectly cook pepperoni. Honestly haven't tried anything other than pizza because it's so delicious!
Just as good as their other place in Berkeley - the pizza is glorious, the flat bread (served with pasta and salads) is perfection, and the atmosphere is friendly (if a bit cramped!) Be sure to bring cash or check - no credit cards for some weird reason. But completely worth any trip you make to get there.
I don’t even want to review this place out of selfishness - I want it all to myself. Great food, cozy atmosphere, fantastic service. A perfect little Italian joint.
Food: 9/10 Combination pizza was delicious. Ravioli - pesto - was just amazing but too few raviolis on the plate. Service: Top Notch Super attentive and cool under pressure.
Oakland’s Lo Coco’s Ristorante on Piedmont Avenue is a fantastic Sicilian restaurant. I love the Mushrooms Caruso and most of their food, but especially the pizza. The location means you might have problems finding parking, but a little patience will pay off eventually. With their high price, I don’t understand not accepting credit cards but with a little planning, you can hit the ATM first.
Best Italian restaurant, as far as I'm concerned, this side of the Mississippi. Used to be cash only, that has changed. Great pizza, great old world dishes, reasonably priced. Small intimate space.
Throughly enjoyed my meal. Split a full bottle of wine, salad, pizza, and pasta with my partner for $100 before tip. For the Bay Area, it felt like a deal. Of course I’m blanking on our servers name, it was either Joshua or Joseph, regardless he was extremely kind, helpful, and had a bag of great jokes. Thank you all for letting us enjoy our meal right up to your closing time and a tad after. Will return.
Lo Coco's is a great spot to grab a casual but special-feeling dinner with someone you love. The bay area is full of hip sceeny restaurant. Lo Coco's is not one of those. This place is classic quality through and through. They'll have a few wine options by the glass which will not break the bank and fit perfectly with the stout menu. Go here, eat some delicious food, drink some gluggable wine, and catch up with someone you care about. The great course pace and warm hospitality will vibe just fine with some good conversation.
I love, love the clam pizza. I get it without the red sauce, the chef puts a garlic oil as the base instead and it's the best in town with that for sure. The med size is perfect for two for dinner or for one if you want leftovers. The dough is chewy and perfectly salted. Yumminess all around.
I love Lo Coco's! It's the perfect fusion between Italian-American comfort food and authentic Italian gourmet. The ambiance is warm and intimate and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Prices are on the higher end and it's cash only, which can be inconvenient, but I've always left feeling that every cent was well spent. Get the bolognese or pizza or really anything, is all terrific!
Incredible! Super high quality food, relaxed atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff. You can tell they really care about using the best ingredients to make the best food. Definitely get the canolli!
I've been eating here since I was 7 years old. I've ordered at least 100 meals and have always had a great experience . Not one bad experience. Ever. That's crazy! Definitely the best Italian food in Oakland probably the east bay, maybe the whole bay.. the service is also great 🔥🔥🔥
Great pizza, great pasta. That really hits the spot. Portions are on the smaller side. Also quite cramped in here, so if you're bringing a large party here that's your fault
We loved Lo Coco’s. I think that if you like a doughy crust with a good crunch, this is the place for you. The toppings aren’t just american normal toppings, but seem to be seriously sicilian inspired. We got the half weekly special and half combination pizza! I have never liked artichokes more. And the PASTA??? The clam linguine I have had at many restaurants and I think this sauce is my #1 clam linguine of all time. Lemony, creamy, garlic and clam. I’m usually a salad hater, but the salad was light, flavorful, and just enough.
Delicious dishes! It’s been a while since we’ve been here, but it’s by far, my favorite for Italian. It’s as close as we can get to Italy, but locally. It’s got a nice, chill and relaxed atmosphere. Great place for a small group since it’s a smaller space.
Lo Coco’s is one of those restaurants that just wins your heart with its food and its service! Walking into Lo Coco’s gives you the impression that this casual spot will serve you average, casual food, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth. This restaurant, known for its pizza dough is so much more than a pizza joint… the pasta dishes are out of this world! I ordered the Combination pizza, since the pizza is frequently spoken about this place. My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and we also ordered the Tortelli with Pesto. The pizza definitely lived up to the hype, which normally is never the case. The crust had a great crispness to it and the toppings are high quality. My wife commented on how good her Eggplant Parmigiana was… the Tortelli with Pesto though was amazing!!! I will come back for that dish alone, it was just simply divine. As for service, Joseph was our server and he was just simply amazing. He added to the whole charm of the restaurant; since it was our first time, we spent the time going through the menu with us. This spot is not just a neighborhood gem, it’s a Bay Area gem!
Small family own restaurant. Feels like home. Food was fresh. Pizza was a winner - perfect dough. Eggplant Parm could use some "crisp texture" but tasted delicious - if you are a Eggplant Parmigiana sucker like me I recommend skipping the $22 dollars dish. Everything else we tried was great; chef's salad, fettuccini Alfredo, spaghetti con sugo added (and you should add too) meatball (they hit different!) Service was excellent and the atmosphere was very casual and comfortable. Good for kids, good for second + dates, it maybe tight for large parties (8 or more). Caution: the house focaccia is extremely delicious and addicting (not pictured as it disappeared in seconds)
Oh all the varieties of Pizza and Pasta! You must come back and try it all! Went there on a weekday dinner without reservations, and got seated instantly, thanks to the sweet staff. While ordering, fresh focaccia was served in a easy pull apart form. The staff was nice enough to tell us all the specials and recommendations. We decided to order a Pizza (Guido), Eggplant Parmiagania, and Pappardelle Bolognese. Each dish was uniquely delicious, couldn't pick a favorite. Portions were perfect for three people. Super tasty and flavorful. They sell Mole Cola, the Coke-cola of Italy, only much better. The staff and service couldn't be any more outstanding. You can also tell the food was good when they're constantly getting Uber/ Door dash orders. Love the restaurant/ Italian store look. This place could be easily crowded during weekend dinner, but still great for parties more than 2. Try also their cocktails and dessert. Their canoli was a chocolate kind! Definitely will come back and try their different pizza and pasta flavors. Street parking only. Memorable dinner.
Really good pasta, cozy and warm atmosphere
Just as good as the North Oakland location food and service-wise. I do prefer the interior of the North Oakland one better, but it’s more just personal preference. Outstanding food, no frills just all quality and care. Got the spaghetti and homemade meatballs and it was incredibly delicious. 🍝 I will definitely be back! The canollis look amazing too.
Love this this cute little Italian restaurant with an authentic feel. Cozy dining room and good service. Not a lot of space for a large party but good for a date night
Went here with a friend to split some pesto tortelloni and cannelloni. Y'all. Just go eat it. It's a popular little restaurant for a reason. Their menu is limited, but it doesn't need anything more than what it has. They do what they do wonderfully. Also, as a bonus, our servers Jerone and Kenley were both super friendly and attentive.

The wait staff, the food, the vibes — WOW The pasta is fresh and the Alfredo is creamy, our pizza was perfecto 👌🏽and we felt taken care of. Our waiter was super patient despite the full house and our food came out way faster than expected. We’ll be back for sure! Thanks Lo Coco!
I live nearby and this is my go-to pizza place! Pizzas are good. Staff is considerate and nice. I've tried 4 different pies and they've all hit. I'll continue to go hear as long as I'm in the area! Quick tip: they get busy for dinner, so call ahead! 15-20 minutes is perfect amount of time.
The food is awesome, the service is great, the wine was great, no one makes a cannoli that good (except maybe my Sicilian mother). There might be a wait to be seated, but it is well worth the wait.
Wow, my only regret is not dining here sooner! I just had what might be one of the best pastas in the Bay Area. It wasn’t because it was a new dish - I had a basic bolognese. It was because it was one of the highest quality flours I’ve ever experienced in a pasta paired with a generations old recipe for a simple, savory bolognese. Completely knocked my socks off. The staff were incredibly sweet and fun conversationalists. I want my kids to know a place like this, can’t wait to bring them!
May just be the best fresh pasta and bread I've had in the Bay Area in 8+ years of dining all over. Easily beats some of the other popular options like Flour + Water or Belotti Ristorante E Bottega. The free fresh bread was so good we could barely concentrate on the menu to order. Both the tomato-based and the pesto-based sauces were amazing, as was the pasta they were on top of. We have no regrets ordering the 6-pack of meatballs as a couple because we knew we'd want leftovers. Gelato was also incrdible, tastes like we're actually in Italy and not too sweet. I'm just sad it took me this long to discover this place, I will be returning often!
I’ve been coming here for years! Such a cozy place! Definitely a spot you want to bring your parents to when they visit. The food, the service, everything! Definitely best for just a small group. It’s a tight fit for more than 4 for sure. Last time they were kind enough to squeeze the 6 of us in which we saw on their door sign and we were super appreciative! My family and i had some of the best pizza (magic mushroom) and bolognese we have had in the bay!
Can't say anything bad about this place. The pizzas are excellent in texture and flavor. The pastas are like straight from Italy. The tiramisu....you'll need to get a box to take home cuz it's flippin huge and yummy!
If you want to feel like you just stopped in at your grandma's house for dinner, this is the place. The service was the best we've ever had at a restaurant, felt like we really were guests in his home. And the food, good lord, the food was divine. Simple, classic, fresh and delicious. I'm honestly not sure why I'm not here every night for dinner because it's amazing!

Tastes like home! (back in NJ with la mia esposo's famiglia siciliana) Excellent pizza-had the tricolori, and stuffed pastas-tortellini and cannelloni. Very tasty yet simple marinara sauce, and the complimentary bread is awesome. Good prices, a very nice and attentive staff. Modest portion sizes.
I love Lo Coco's. This is a no nonsense restaurant with amazing Italian flavors. The menu is not extensive, but everything in it from the spaghetti and meatballs to the various raviolis is just exquisite. Meals taste home cooked, the focaccia that is brought to the table is just yummy, and I highly recommend ordering the cheff salad and pairing your meal with the house wine (which is their private blend). Cash or checks only. Worth the wait if there is one.
The Bolognese pasta is superb - can't go wrong really if your looking for premium pasta and pizza in this cozy Piedmont Ave mainstay. Wife's beer was brought without a glass; a chilled one was offered but strangely with the caveat it would require a few minutes. Looking to make a toast with our dining partners with our wine, we settled for a room temp glass for the beer as the wait became too long. Not a terrible trade down, but it a wired interaction that lingers on the imagination. Won't stop us from returning though.
First time trying this place and I was recommended by some colleagues and my goodness is it great.! I'm very picky so I was kinda afraid but I'm glad I came! The service is fast & friendly. Our food came out within 10-15 minutes within placing the order and it taste like a home made dish! This has made it to my list to try again for 2022! I can't wait to return. Thank you so much Lo Coco's
I am usually pretty reluctant to try new Italian eateries because quite frankly a lot of the more "formal" ones rarely make you feel satisfied when you realized how much you just spent on a modest dinner for two. Lo Coco's, however, is not one of those spots. With not even a trace typical pretentiousness that some other Italian places have Lo Coco's makes you feel like you are walking into their home to eat rather than their business. The entire menu fits on one side of a piece of paper the size of a place setting and the short list of "house specials" gives you at least item that must be present on the table. The egg plant parm was cooked perfectly with a slight char to the eggplant and their house red sauce is bold and delicious. Admittedly, we someone made a mistake and did not get the pizza we originally planned on but the quality of the crust and sauce make any pizza a safe bet. A quintessential neighborhood Italian joint. Would recommend and will go back. FAQS -CCs accepted -No reservations but just Americans eat dinner way too early so wait will be minimal post 20h.
The service and the tortelli were excellent, and the seared scallop special was phenomenal—a bit spendy, but worth it. The desserts, on the other hand, we're good but overpriced for what they were. Quarters are a bit on the tight side, but not uncomfortably so. All in all, a great spot for a special occasion if you're neither rich nor broke: figure $40–60 per person, maybe less if you're sticking to pizza.
Great cozy atmosphere inside, it definitely makes you feel like you’re dining at a neighborhood pasta shop - which you are! My Tortelli Bolognese was fantastic, as was the accompanying bread. Unfortunately, my dessert cannolo was served with mascarpone which had split and was grainy, which is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Will definitely be back for more pasta!

NEXT STOP OLIVE GARDEN... Never write reviews but this was so disappointing.. 3 stars because the atmosphere and service was really good... However if you are going to a restaurant for the food (which I'm assuming you are)... Food was SO bland. Alfredo sauce had absolutely zero flavor, It was basically thin flavorless cream. Also you cannot add shrimp or chicken as they do not have these items on the menu. The meatballs (although more flavorful then the Alfredo) was also basic and bland.
We each got the “Frank's ancient grain Tortelli con Sugo” and something about it upset both of our stomachs. Our friends got pizzas and they seemed fine. There was clearly something wrong with our food, you should not feel stomach discomfort after a meal. This was our first time there, post pandemic, as well as the first bad experience.
There is too much tomato sauce which spoils the texture of the pizza. Also, the garlic in the sauce suppresses other flavors.

Great service bad food. I asked if the Pesto had walnuts (allergic) I was told they could not guarantee it as the pesto was made elsewhere (jar?). I ordered the mussels instead. They came with marinara sauced glopped all over the plate. In fact our party ordered 3 different entrees and they had the same exact sauce on the plate.
the first time we went here, we were treated like kings. the whole menu was explained to us, we were introduced to their signature hot oil and (what seemed to be) the manager kept checking in on us. but last week, on my partner’s birthday, we excitedly went in for a huge pizza and a couple of drinks each. as we were winding down, they rudely ripped plates out from under us as well as taking away the utensil holder. and when my partner went to pay, the cashier said, “wow you were here for a long time.” excuse me, but we spent nearly a hundred dollars over about an hour there only to be treated like an inconvenience just taking up space for the next party. we were beyond disappointed. we expected more.
Very disappointed for the second time. Pizza was over cooked. ordered pepperoni and sausage, there was like 1 or 2 pieces of sausage on each slice. The top of the pizza was over cooked - dark brown blackish. The dough tasted dry. The meatballs were great. On the light side, great marinara sauce with it. I use to believe this was the best high end pizza in the area. Saddens me to say, that I would not order pizza from here again. WAY over priced for the poor quality.
Was visiting from out of town and a friend raved about this place so we looked over the menu and finally placed an order through their website to go walk and pick up. Got there and the place was dark, locked, and two others standing outside, yet there were two workers visibly working in the kitchen. Another party, like us, had gone there to pick up their takeout. The other party was standing outside trying to get in to have dinner. No signs on the door or website about being closed on Dec 27 and again, their website was accepting orders and taking money them. Finally, one of the workers came to the door and tried to talk to us through it- would not open. Showed us a number on his phone and said to call it. I did, as did the other takeout lady, and it went straight to voicemail. About half an hour the money was returned to my account- but no call back from the number with an apology, no apology from the worker inside, and wasted time on dinner plans. This was a $126 order. Not acceptable.
Dropped the pizza on ground, packed the same slices in box. No mention of dropping pizza or any apology,, GROSS! Dessert given to go but didnt order to go just assumed… was okay could taste frost bite. Dont go here no concept of hygiene
We had an unpleasant experience at the restaurant tonight. We were a party of seven, and there was a big size waitress who told us that the restaurant policy only allows groups of six. We suggested splitting into two tables, but she still refused. We even offered to have our older kids (19 and 20) dine next door and just take a table for four, but she insisted that wouldn’t work. She actually said, “I know what you’d do—you’d have the other three come in later!” I was taken aback by her assumption and asked to speak to her manager. The manager handled the situation much better and explained the policy behind it. In the end, the manager did agree to seat us, but after the whole ordeal, we decided to leave and dine somewhere else. Honestly, I don’t know what the issue was with the woman (I didn’t catch her name), but it seemed clear that some people just aren’t suited for the service industry.
