The food was so good. My friend and I got the bacon egg and cheese with chipotle aioli and it was delicious. She also had the mixed smoothie and I had the Emptess Latte and it was delicious, not too sweet and perfect for a cold day!

Where do I start. I work for city hall. And a co worker informed me about this cafe. So one morning I went to try their French Vanilla Latte & Apple turn over. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Just wow. I pray you grow past Oakland. This is a black owned business and it is TRULY A GEM. KEEP SHINING. !!!

I’m visiting Oakland and when looking for food to try, this place met a trifecta of requirements for me - good reviews, near my hotel and black owned. It did not disappointed! I went in for breakfast and the staff was so friendly but also quick and efficient with taking and making order. My spinach and egg on a roll was delicious and my iced coffee was exactly what I needed to get my day started. I highly recommend! (I didn’t take a pic till the end 😩🤣)

Popped in here after a recommendation that it's a great spot to co-work/remote work. Spacious, clean, great food, and really loved the art. Plus a sci-fi vending machine?! Awesome!

Wonderful owner who came by our office to offer a huge tray of sandwiches at no cost to us since she was in the neighborhood. Actions like this, sharing with the community, is greatly appreciated, and this business should be supported. The staff enjoyed the goodies.

Oaklandia is a wonderful Cafe tucked near 12th Bart & the federal building with a vibrantly colorful menu and decor! Community drips from this place from the captivating art to the locally sourced coffee they proudly serve with their blueberry & lavender scones! The hot pastrami sandwich was the perfect lunch time meal after a stressful day at court! The pastrami was medium cut, not that shaved stuff that always falls out😒, the spinach was vibrantly green & the pepperoncinis gave just enough spice for you to heave a hearty sigh after the first bite! Black woman owned & operated, Cannot WAIT to go back and try the Caprese! Who says there's no reasonably priced, healthy food options in downtown Oakland? Not me!! 😋💯

Oaklandia has delicious food in a really comfortable space. It’s a sandwich-and-salad type menu, but they don’t serve the same sandwiches as everyone else—they mix it up and it really works. I particularly recommend the BBQ Chicken Down South with a Twist, the Napa Chicken, and the Pastrami. It’s a local, Black-owned business. You are likely to have your order taken by the owner. Get down here. They also do a great job catering—we had an office lunch here and everyone raved.

The lattes here are amazing! The baked goods and lunches are amazing as well. There hasn't been one thing I haven't liked. Oaklandia is also a great place to have coffee meetings and it serves as a nice remote working place.

This was our first time using Oaklandia Cafe x Bakery for an event. They exceeded our expectations for our recent catering order for approximately 40 people. Timely delivery was complemented by a delightful culinary journey that left all attendees thoroughly pleased and impressed. The vegetarian and chicken sandwiches were undoubtedly the stars of the show. Both options were prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in flavors that were not only delicious but also memorable. The vegetarian sandwiches showcased a vibrant array of fresh vegetables and flavorful spreads, appealing to both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Meanwhile, the chicken sandwiches were tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, earning rave reviews from everyone who indulged in them. Special appreciation goes to Kat, whose prompt responses and assurance alleviated any apprehensions as first-time patrons. Overall, I highly recommend Oaklandia Cafe x Bakery for any catering needs. It's in a really nice part of Oakland within walking distance of Lake Merritt, which I HIGHLY recommend going to for an afternoon stroll. The spinach ricotta croissant ($4.25) was pretty good but would have been better warmed up. Drinks and pastries are reasonably priced, especially compared to a $10 Starbucks matcha latte.

It is beautiful inside the building and the selection is great. The cost is a bit high for the portions served, but everything taste great regardless. We got sandwiches, coffee, and pumpkin bread. Should have gotten double the bread. Service was okay, just seemed like an off day.

Wish I was told when I first entered so that I could choose to leave and go elsewhere instead of being forced to then sit outside. Inside had no A/C and was decently warm on a hot day. Food and coffee tasted fine though was ultimately soured by the service experience. Overall, personally not coming back myself.

I came in genuinely trying to compliment the shop because there really aren’t many coffee places nearby with the kind of options they have. Instead of receiving that positively, the manager working the counter (she had a green hair clip) immediately responded in a very defensive and negative way, insisting that no other coffee is like theirs and shutting down what was meant to be a simple compliment about the area. The interaction just felt uncomfortable from the start. When I was trying to order and ask about the menu, she abruptly said, “First of all, pick a size,” in a very impatient tone. Then when I tried to continue the conversation, she cut me off mid-sentence and said there was someone behind me and she had to help them. Not to mention, the friend I was with had a very similar interaction. She simply asked if they had vegan options, and the manager yelled at her and told her that if she wanted that, she should “go out there,” pointing outside instead of helping. It also wasn’t busy at all when I went in. My friend even mentioned that during her visit the manager was scolding a new employee in front of customers, putting her down and saying things like “How do you not know that?” which was uncomfortable to witness. I understand places can get busy, but the attitude was unnecessarily rude. It felt like anything we said was met with negativity instead of normal customer service. The shop might have interesting drink options, but the interaction with the manager really ruined the experience.

I asked for a bag to put my salad in, and she grudgingly handed me a bag. I stood there in silence, waiting for her to put it in the bag. This whole time she rolled her eyes.
