God, I love this place so much. It’s the best Korean food I’ve tried so far in Oakland. From the condiments to the food, it has never disappointed me. I’ve gotten seafood pancake before, soft tofu soup, and spicy beef soup. I’ve come here about 5 times already and I love taking people who are visiting me here. I did try the bibimbap before and it wasn’t my fav but the rest of the stuff I’ve gotten here has seriously been so yummy, tasteful and comforting. Amazing food, generous portions, cute music and a simple restaurant ambience. I love it and will keep coming back!! ☺️
INCREDIBLE Korean bar food with super friendly staff in a nice, newly renovated restaurant space. My girlfriend and I are SO stoked that we found this restaurant so soon after they opened. After discovering this place around a week ago, we have already gone back twice. I cannot understate just how delicious this place is. While I didn't take pictures during our first visit here, the spicy stir fried pork was unreal and the Bossam on the Soup was tender and delicious. The seafood pancake also rocked and was packed with a ton of good seafood. On our second visit, this place kept impressing us as we both loved our Beef Noodle Soup and the green onion pork belly dish. If I had to pick a favorite item so far though, I would probably have to go with the spicy stir fried pork. The staff here is also incredibly friendly and helpful. Some of the friendliest people I have met at a restaurant in a long time. PLEASE do yourself a favor and give this place a visit. I am sure you won't regret it.
Had a great meal for the first time here. Oakland streets have changed yet the food was tasty and the service was great as well.
Loved it! Ordered the stir fried gopchang and steamed egg. The gopchang was super juicy and delicious! The steamed egg was also great. Those two are the perfect size for 2 people. I especially loved the different types of side dishes they serve! The eggplant one was my favorite! I can see this place becoming popular since the food was so good!
This one-year-old restaurant is a real sleeper hit – don't snooze on it, or you'll be missing out on some fantastic grub!
We had a fantastic time here! We tried the seafood pancakes, which were amazing! The kimchi stir-fried pork was delicious and paired well with the tofu. We also ordered corn cheese, and although I forgot the name of the soup, it was very fresh and tasty. They even made 소맥 for us. I would definitely come back here… it was awesome! 짱!
I ordered steamed egg and seafood pancake and the food was served relatively quick and they were both very delicious. The seafood pancake was crispy with a generous amount of seafood. The steamed egg dish was creamy with a great taste and texture. The ambience is low-key and chilled. The restaurant was very clean and the owners were very friendly. I will definitely return and try other dishes! Highly recommended.
Spicy it is! Yummy pork, Tteokbokki, nicely served Banchan, excellent service, clean atmosphere—minimalist black with elegant orchids. Atmospheric music was the BEST!
Tasty Korean food in a casual spot with some interesting menu items. Had the spicy beef noodle soup, cheese buldak, tater tots with cheese powder, and fried seaweed roll. Everything hit the spot.
It’s a great spot to grab tofu soup or chicken on a late night. Quality and great flavors, servers are super nice and lots of banchan.

Saw another review that summed it up. Ever since To the Moon opened, no other Korean place has compared. My partner and I came here 10 times in the first month they were open. That's not an exaggeration, we counted. This might be one of the best Korean spots in the bay for flavor, portion size, and value. Some of our favorites from the menu: Soft Tofu Soup Chicken Katsu Bowl Beef Noodle Soup (yukgaejang) Galbitang Mushroom bulgogi Dumpling hot pot Soybean stew We would already come back just for the food alone, but the service has also always been top notch (if a little slower during busy times, understandably). Everyone is so friendly and we've always felt welcomed here. Not to mention, this is one of the few places in the East Bay open late, so it's always a good option. I'm going to echo what a previous reviewer said: please, do yourself a favor and visit To the Moon. It's so good.
Great service! Flexible! We arrived around 1:10am on a Friday night. I believe Google Maps said they would be open until 2am but when we got there the server said they could not seat our party of 2. There were 2-3 empty tables that had not been cleaned off yet, but one had clearly been a party of 10+ people with tons of empty soju bottles. Busy night. We asked if we could order take out instead and they directed us to the QR code menu. We put in an order for the 4pc soy & garlic chicken wings and the pork dumplings. They said it would be about 15 minutes. We came back after 10 because we were paranoid we'd keep them waiting if it was ready. It came out 15-20 mins after order (we saw they were still pumping out dishes to the few tables still left so they were definitely slammed). Worker asked if we had been there before and we said no. He told us he put a few extra food items in there. At first I thought it was a thank you gift for waiting LOL but I think it was just the standard tofu skin, glass noodles, potatoes, and radish you would get at your table at a Korean spot, which is still appreciated for a last minute take out order. Main food we ordered was very hot in the bag so they definitely made everything fresh. We were happy with how they helped us get our late night craving and didn't turn us away just because they were rather busy. Will come again. Oh and the wings were great! Still had a crispy skin under the sweet and tangy sauce, and the meat was moist. I only wish they came in a 6 or 10 pc portion! Total after tip was $22.03. EDIT: Their Instagram says last call is 1:30am.
Excellent Korean bar food that hits during late-night. Banchan is also great and prices fair. Normalize ordering a single portion of tofu soup for yourself instead of sharing!
Great late-night dinner spot. Tried a bit of everything at my table and everything was excellent! Bossam is super flavorful and tender, chicken has a great dense crunch, and the creamy tteokbokki was tasty as well. Owner seems to really care about the place and it shows through his customer care! Clean space, great food, and kind staff. I will say, though, that the potato banchan was a little dried out, I think they have it pre-plated, and then serve as soon as customers are seated. I think it would be best to leave the potatoes, as other restaurants do, in the cooking liquid until they’re ready to serve. Tastes good though.
so delicious, you must try this spot! the tofu soup was incredibly flavorful and the jjeolmyeon was really refreshing. their ban chan was also fantastic. 10/10!
Local Korean comfort food. Read someone say they can brighten up the place, and agree. It's painted all black in here which is a unique feeling. However, food and service were excellent. The short rib soup and Korean seafood pancake was delicious. All the Korean standards at reasonable prices.
First time here and not a great connoisseur of Korean food. Stepped outside of the box and was very pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, garlic fried chicken, seafood pancake, and the soybean paste stew. The kimchi was awesome and abundant. Will be back to learn more and enjoy.
FINALLY, decent gopchang!!! I've tried like two or three different places in the East Bay for spicy stir fried intestines and they've all been so bad. I just wish there was a little bit more of it but the flavor was great. Soy garlic chicken was bomb. Side dishes (especially the eggplant) were bomb. Husband liked his bibimbap. Basically everything was great. Service was also great :) very kind server and patient with us emptying the side dishes three times. By the way, when the server asks if you want "regular or hot pot" bibimbap, I think he means regular bowl versus hot stone bowl. We were confused and thought "hot pot bibimbap" was like, a shabu shabu version lol.

Fast service in a laid back Korean spot. Had the braised short rib special which was A LOT of food. More than enough for two people and it was very good.

We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed the food. We got the chicken katsu and the beef short rib soup. Both were really tasty. The chicken was really tender and the short ribs fell right off the bone. Good flavors.

Very friendly attentive responsive young staff / waiters, and has a nice ambience. However, unfortunately, the food is not that good. We had the -Chicken bulgogi rice bowl and the chicken pieces were full of gristle (chewy, rubbery bits from tendons or cartilage that weren’t trimmed well); and the sauce was a little too sugary (the menu says “slightly sweet”, but it’s very sweet) -Seafood noodle soup - had one piece of shrimp and small amount of clams/mussels The banchan tends to be on the sweet side
