My coworker suggested this place & i was a little skeptical. BUT after a brisk walk up the street, I've had the best Chicken and waffle combo in A LONG TIME! The vibes were high, food great, bathrooms clean. NO Complaints!! & ILL BE BACK!
New location located in Jack London! And it's the perfect atmosphere for them! Beautiful and colorful decor that provides a welcoming atmosphere. Drinks are nice and strong. Even their agua fresca were delicious; i recommend blueberry lemonade. And the food is just as good. I had the fried chicken and mole while my friend had the chicken taquitos and they were both delicious. Hot and crunchy fried chicken with a smokey mole sauce with a kick served with rice, beans and a side of tortilla and pico de gillo. The taquitos were crunchy and the chicken, while white meat, was still flavorful and juicy. Then i had their vanilla bean panna cotta which was the absolute star of the night. With whipped cream, toasted coconut flake, caramel sauce and berries, it was absolutely mouth watering. They dont have table service. You order at the counter and they give you a number. And if you need to order something else, go back to the counter.
Chill atmosphere, clean spot, good for small groups. Simple mexican food menu with ~6-7 beers on tap, wine and classic cocktails. We ordered their nachos - saucy, generous meat portions, wish they'd sprinkle more cheese on there! The wings were the highlight. The bartender recommended the Spicy Korean - they were a banger & not too hot. Came out fresh & toasty with a side of veggie sticks and ranch?! Love it. Lemon drop had a salt rim, not sugar... Beers were local - nice. Easy parking around the neighborhood and plenty of bars around to bar hop!
Whenever I come to Oakland this is my first stop, the best nachos I've ever had
Funky little spot near Oakland Chinatown. Large portions and reasonable prices. I tried the fried catfish sandwich and was absolutely floored at how much food they gave me! Literally could not fit the whole thing in my mouth and had to eat half of the ingredients with a fork before picking it back up (this is a good problem to have, lol.) The breading for the fish is cornmeal style, which reminded me a lot of Cajun food in Eastern Texas/Louisiana. I do wish there had been a bit more kick to the flavor, but they serve the food with a bottle of buffalo sauce which does the trick. The house-made potato chips rock. Super, super well seasoned.
In Mexico, Chingones/Xingones is slang for the best or “the shit” as we might say here, and this place is true to that meeting. Their food is consistently good. I love the First Friday taco, it features their signature fried chicken which is out of this world and delicious sauces. Their fries are fantastic! They have this delicious seasoning that makes me devour them. I have tried the Hella Hot and El Coreano both make me do the happy dance. Everything in the menu is a good choice. The service and people are great. This restaurant is solid for dine in and take out. What else can one ask for?
I used to work in Downtown Oakland, and this restaurant quickly became one of my favorites. It was right across the street from my barbershop, and the staff made me feel like family almost immediately. The food is always amazing and fresh, with nothing ever letting me down. From the crispy, flavorful fried chicken to the tacos — especially the fish, first Friday taco, and shrimp — everything is top-notch. The housemade beverages are also fantastic. I could go on and on, but the best part is the new location, which is beautiful! If you're in the area, definitely give it a try. Marya and Tino will make sure you're well taken care of!
Xingones serves the best Mexican food in the Bay Area! I love their nachos, tacos and the burrito bowl is also super tasty! Their service is great and I also love the decoration :)

The food was great... they forgot my guacamole but agreed to accommodate me on my next trip there

The food was delicious more than we expected. My partner and I were just looking for a place to watch Sunday night football and have a good meal. It’s always hard to find a sports bar with quality food! Xingones was just what we were looking for. The chicken and waffles were so bomb the chicken was juicy throughout, the waffles were sooooo good and fluffy didn’t even want to share. Fried catfish sandwich was FIRE with their home potato chips. The wings were good regular. Overall we were happy with our experience.
When my husband practically licks the plate clean, that's some tasty food! Everything on the menu is a well thought out combination of seasonings and spot on flavor. I shouldn't mention the cheesecake because everyone is now going to storm the place demanding some and they'll be sold out when I get there, but it's AMAZING! Every visit is a new flavor party. Enjoy!
Excellent street grilled fish tacos, highly recommend! Excellent flavor ,spiciness and cooked perfectly! Loved the sauces too! Will be back 😀
For a layover in Oakland and just around the corner from the Amtrak train station… This order of chicken and waffles was delicious. The crispy chicken crust was yummy!! My only complaint is it was a to go order I could have used some more syrup. Other than that if I’m ever in Oakland again definitely swinging by again 😋
Listen I'm a huge fan! I ordered the cantina breakfast via DoorDash and it was absolutely delicious! The waffles are super light and crispy, I ordered mine with the chicken tenders and they were juicy and crispy, The egg was cooked perfectly and to top it all off it comes with fresh fruit. This is my new go-to meal. I could literally eat it every day. Everything was fresh and seasoned to perfection!
This is my neighborhood spot, it’s always good, order in or dine in. I generally sit at the bar when im there in person, foods great, drinks are good, and they have tvs if you’re into sports
I ordered a California burrito here and was surprised- properly cooked fries with delicious salsa. I'm usually snobbish about my Mexican food and this was fire.
I love Xingones, been coming to them since they were still a pop up, the brick and mortar is even better. Everything is hella good, lately I’ve been getting the burritos and they are bomb dot com!! Do yourself a favor and get in there

I got the California Burrito with Carnitas and everything in it. It was a very well-packed burrito. Nicely sealed tortilla and wrapped in aluminum foil. I didn’t have to rip apart layers and layers of aluminum foil since there was only one. The fries in the burrito are crinkle cut so there’s an extra nice texture to it when you bite into it. The flavors were good but the sauce helps supplement it alot. It wasn’t a very ‘wet’ burrito which I appreciated and the default does not come with rice which I also appreciated. The carnitas could have used a little more flavor but it was still nice and juicy. I couldn’t help but finish the whole thing. Would come back to try other items!
Went here for lunch with a friend because I was craving chicken and waffles, and was definitely pleased. The food was delicious, only complaint was the cocktail was entirely too strong. It was xingones negroni
Chicken was amazing. Great flavor and crunch. Came fresh from the fryer. Waffles were a little dry. Mango margarita hit the spot. Service was good as well. Prices were good and they had TVs to watch the warriors.
Good restaurant and full bar. They have at least six TV's to watch whatever you're heart desires. I had the mini tacos and buffalo wings, both were great. They have clean bathrooms and restaurant. The only downside is that the bar doesn't open until one PM.
Wanted to try a new place in town so I popped in. Got the chicken & waffles I’ll give it a 7.5/10. Chicken was really good and seasoned the waffles were more like funnel cake waffles?! Hot sauce gave me extreme heart burn- didn’t get to enjoy the rest of my food. Actually had to leave mid meal because it burned so bad and I usually eat spicy foods/hot sauce. If others like it then I guess don’t change it but I that syrup is really disgusting - honestly wouldn’t call it syrup more like another sauce and do something about the house sauce.

I love the food! From the taquitos to the salads, nachos & shrimp sandwiches to the drinks, everything is chef's kiss!!! The only downfall in my opinion is the lack of attentiveness to the orders. I've ordered online multiple times & have paid extra for dressings/sauces just for them to not be placed in my bag. I've also ordered salads that were giving to me without any dressing at all. If those who are packaging the food could be more attentive & ensure the order is fulfilled, then it would be 5 stars all around :)
I’ve heard great things about the wings here at Xingones so I finally made some time to try it out for myself! Xingones offers fast casual dining and also has a bar. We opted for dine-in so we ordered at the front, took our number, and seated ourselves. Their decor is very vibrant yet feels cozy with how it’s set up. There are some high top tables, couch seats, and normal tables. On the back wall, you’ll see their logo, a great photo-op if you come with friends! This restaurant would be great for large gatherings as well. I’m not sure if they were understaffed when I was there, but it took a few minutes for someone to come take our order at the front. Once we ordered, we grabbed some water at the self-serve station and waited for about ten minutes. The food came out pretty quick! Our Xingones Nachos came out first, I was very excited to try the Picadillo on the nachos. It’s one of my childhood favorites! The nachos were $14 and it came with a pretty decent serving, definitely enough for two people. It was topped with picadillo (stir fried ground beef and veggies), cotija cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onion, and had red salsa on the side. I’m not sure what kind of salsa it was, but it was pretty bland and rather oily. It did offer a nice contrast and character to the richness of the nachos which was nice. The nachos were plentiful, but rather than the toppings being layers between the chips, it was just smacked on top. So, once we got through the top layer of chips/topping we were left with a bunch of plain chips. The chips itself were very crispy and not too oily. For the wings, we got a Large (12 pieces) with two flavors (citrus hot and spicy Korean) which came with two ranch cups, carrots, and celery for $23. You could pay a few extra bucks for all flats or all drums but we like a nice variety. For me, the star of the wing platter was the ranch— I really enjoyed how much dill they used in it! The wings were obviously fried, but were not crunchy at all and the meat was pretty dry and didn’t have much flavor soaked into the meat itself even though the sauce was evenly coated. It also didn’t feel like the wings were fried to order, but I could be wrong. Thankfully, the citrus hot sauce made the wings somewhat enjoyable. It was bright, flavorful, and seasoned well. The hot korean sauce was too one-note for me. The spice levels were both very mild, but that’s okay! I am truly hoping it was just an off day for Xingones, as many of my friends have told me they come here just for the wings. Since it’s down the road from me, I’ll definitely come back to see what the rest of their menu has to offer.

This place was much better at the old Fort Green, but now they really nickel and dime over dumb stuff like orange sauce. If you eat there you get a squeeze bottle for free. If you get to go they charge you a dollar and don’t even fill the container to the brim. The food is greasier with less flavor, but the ambience is much better (but doesn’t have the same character).
