When I die, if this food is not served in my final resting place I will know I have been dawned to hell. Everything about this establishment is heavenly. Huge portions, hands down the best food I have ever eaten anywhere. Trust me I am fat and absolute love to eat food, lots of food, from a lot of places. Honestly I would probably drive 6.5 hours just to eat here.
My coworker stopped here the last time he was in town, and recommended we go here for lunch today, and I’m glad he did! Our server was great and very helpful and professional. I think his name was Jesse - very friendly and on top of refills and keeping an eye on us, but not overbearing. He recommended the chicken fried steak, which really hit the spot. Big plate, tons of food and full of flavor. The bread was incredible as well. The butter that comes with it really took it to the next level and I’m sad I got full and couldn’t eat any more of it. The vibe was great too. Everything about Cheever’s was great. We sat inside, but the patio looked really nice and charming as well. My coworker for the French dip and said it was really great as well. We both enjoyed our meals and were glad we stopped in.
We were driving through OK City. Googled restaurants, Chose Cheever's. Not disappointed!! Nice ambiance. Excellent staff. We were blessed to have Jesse as our server. He gave great food choice recommendations. We would definitely eat here again. It was a very good experience.
I’m usually not one to review but my experience was so great, I can’t pass it up this time. I don’t even know where to start. The food was beyond words!! Our waiter Kevin was wonderful, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu items and specials. He was just overall excellent and kind. The manager Stacy was beyond stars ratings! She creates a space rare for employees anymore. She sets the pace for her team by being a part of it. Visible and helpful and out and interacting with customers. She checked on us several times! She treated my best friend and I to a delicious dessert for my friends birthday and it was delicious! Top tier experience. The atmosphere was perfect. Clean, great smells, not too loud, and lighting was enjoyable. I really cannot say enough positive things about my new favorite place in Tulsa!
Service was excellent. Food was fresh ingredients and the brunch enchiladas were the best I have ever had. They are lightly fried which was unique and delicious. Carrot Cake was unreal. Love their salted butter and rosemary bread.
Our dinner at Cheevers was delicious and the service was excellent. Anri was or server and took the best care of us. I had one of the chef’s special and Clint had their signature chicken fried steak. We especially enjoyed the rosemary dinner rolls. There was a mishap with our order but it was communicated with us so even though there was a delay it wasn’t inconvenient or uncomfortable. Great date night dinner before a Christmas concert at the nearby Tower Theatre.
Treated my adult son here for lunch for his birthday. He had ribeye and mashed potatoes. Excellent! I had salmon and did not care for the sauce that comes on it. The iced tea is outstanding. The carrot cake is the best I've ever had. Parking is not ideal for 1 ton crew cab dually. Service was OUTSTANDING.
Cheever's never disappoints, but today it was exceptional! We went for brunch and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had at any restaurant anywhere all because of the service we received from Arni! Don't get me wrong the food was outstanding and I will get to that in a minute. First, I want to talk about Arni. That guy is a Master at his craft! If you have read the reviews for Cheevers, you will see many mention him and everything wonderful that has been said about him is true. Right from the start, he was so personable and welcoming. He explained the specials and even mentioned a Crab Cake app that wasnt on the menu, but was available for preparation. He spent considerable time helping me choose something other than the chicken fried steak which is always my go to there. We spent time getting to know about his heritage and he was genuinely so appreciative upon finding out that my husband's military unit helped support his country. He was attentive without being intrusive and seemed genuinely invested in us enjoying our meal. Please ask for Arni when you go! Now,the food! Of course we couldn't pass on the crab cake! So full of lump crab with a flavor profile that was out of this world and perfectly cooked! The Chicken Fried steak with 2 perfectly cooked over easy eggs added on top and breakfast potatoes is a staple there and NEVER disappoints! On Arni's suggestion I ventured away from that and tried the shrimp and grits with extra shrimp and holy cow it was a flavor explosion in your mouth! Perfectly cooked bacon wrapped shrimps sitting top of creamy well thought out seasoned grits with a little sprinkle of fresh grated cheese and drizzled with a sauce I can't describe, but could drink! This is by far the longest review I have ever written but we'll worth it! Way to go CHEEVERS, you deserve it and from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ARNI for an amazing experience ❤️
It was our first time at Cheever’s, and the entire experience was great. We were walk-ins, so no reservation, and waited maybe 10 minutes. But in that time, we were asked by literally every employee that works there if we’d been helped yet - from managers to hosts to servers to bussers. We had super pleasant conversations with who we assume are the managers, and our server Anri (ornery lol) was super good at his job. He was friendly and knowledgeable and just overall a professional but personable server. The food was also spectacular. We got the cowgirl benedict (chicken fried steak) and the shrimp & grits (Anri recommended extra shrimp, and he was right) and they both were super good. We’ll definitely be back!
This was my second time coming here for dinner and it was just as good as the first! All of our food was delicious. I got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The drinks were amazing too. Our server, Luisa, was the best! Super sweet, funny, and you could tell she really enjoyed taking care of us. She made the whole experience even better. Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat!
We have never been disappointed with the service or food at Cheevers. The chicken fried steak is amazing as is the seafood tamales. The carrot cake is also amazing. The serving sizes are very generous and the service is always outstanding.
We really enjoy our evenings there. The staff is always friendly We haven't ordered anything yet that we haven't enjoyed. The rolls in the beginning are a delight with the soft butter and what seemed to be caramelized garlic salt to spread. My Prime Rib was amazing and the kick of Jalapeño in the gravy of the Chicken Fried Steak is an unexpected pleasure. The cake at the end of the meal, well, just get ready to take it to go and eat off of it for a few days, amazing!
Cheever’s Café is a true OKC gem. The service is friendly, the setting feels both cozy and upscale, and every dish is packed with flavor. The chicken-fried steak and shrimp & grits are incredible, and the desserts are unforgettable. Perfect spot for brunch or a special dinner — consistently excellent!
Amazing food with great ambience and service, Devin was our waiter and took extremely great care of us. Must try the appetizers especially the chicken strudel and the carrot cake
One of the best restaurant to have an amazing filet and that was half of it!! The six layer carrot cake is a must try!! The food was amazing and I will definitely be back!! Tres was amazing host and took care of us!!
This place is incredible. First off get the Carrot Cake, I don’t care if it’s breakfast or dinner their carrot cake is an orgasm in your mouth. Dog Friendly patio, which they brought out a water bowl and a snack for them. Their bread is addictive! The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious & the gravy was on point. Service was fast and friendly. Their prices are fair, but totally worth it because everything was top quality. Overall just go here you won’t be disappointed!
THIS is how you brunch! So well done. Just a little lacking in the table-setting to be considered fine dining. The drinks were CRAZY GOOD!
Arni was our waiter and was patient with our questions about the menu. Food was delicious, although chicken fried steak needed more flavor. Ambience was awesome, cozy, quiet and delightful.
First time here. I was in OKC looking for a good lunch spot at Cheever’s Cafe came up multiple times. I had read they can get very busy. I arrived about 11:15 and it only had a few people in there. Smaller place that is semi-upscale looking. Server was with me very quickly and very friendly and answered all my questions. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with house made potato chips. The sandwich was excellent. The meat was so tender and the rustic bread did a great job holding it all together even when dipped in the au jus. The sandwich also has arugula butter and horseradish on it. It was one of the best prime rib sandwiches I have had. The potato chips were also very good and there were a ton of them. While waiting for your entree they do provide you some delicious rolls with a seasoned butter to snack on. It was also very good. Overall it was a great meal and service was spot on as well. I will for sure come back next time I’m in OKC. I have been since told I must try the famous blue cheese potato chips on my next visit.
my husband and i just stumbled upon this place during our weekend trip to the city. our server was arni & he was incredible , very helpful , along with the food. top place for brunch hands down!
The chicken fried steak was so tender, and the brunch potatoes were equally delicious. Do not miss the wonderful warm bread they bring out before the meal. Word to the wise, ORDER THE ROASTED PECAN BALL FOR DESSERT.
We discovered this little jewel and if I ever had reason to go back to Oklahoma City I would plan my entire trip around coming here for dinner! Lunch was divine and I’m certain dinner would be even better! So many heavenly options to choose from… we ended up starting with the blue cheese house made potato chips (about died over the deliciousness). They were topped with green onion pesto that was insane. INSANE. We split the French dip and Lordy Lordy it was the best I’ve ever had. Almost forgot we also split the kale salad. It was unbelievable. Service was superb, we were super lucky to get a table. The place was hoppin’! At 11:30 am!
Nothing bad to say about this place. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, did I mention that this place is amazing. When we walked in they asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t but they were able to seat us anyway. So might want to make a reservation if you have a party with you. Food came out quick, hot and delicious. Chicken fried steak was amazing as well as the risotto. Make this a place for dinner as often as you can!
10/17/25 🎉 Early retirement never tasted so good — Cheever’s made our night unforgettable! Surprised my wife with a date night to celebrate my early retirement, and Cheever’s made it perfect! Our server Luisa was outstanding — friendly, knowledgeable, and her drink recommendation won over my wife (who normally doesn’t drink!). I went with my go-to gin and grapefruit. The chopped salad with lemon vinaigrette was fresh and flavorful, and the Filet my wife ordered was incredible — one of the best I’ve ever tasted. My tortilla-crusted halibut with spicy shrimp risotto was also excellent, but next time I’m going with the Filet. Dessert is a must! The Ice Cream Ball is unforgettable — vanilla ice cream rolled in candied pecans, coated in chocolate, and topped with a strawberry. I also took home a slice of Coconut Cream Pie — delicious! Fantastic food, top-notch service, and a cozy atmosphere. A perfect spot for any special occasion or night out in OKC! In 2025 I’m headed back to try out their food! On this visit my party of 3 only went for dessert, which was off the wall delicious!! We had heard of this fantastic Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball and knew we had to try and we did not leave disappointed! The are 3 sizes too choose from basically small, medium & large. The small 1/4 lb which was perfect for me. However, if you go larger you better have some help! The third member of our group chose the Giant Carrot Cake and he shared with us, no doubt one of the best Carrot Cakes I’ve had! It was so moist & delicious you’ll definitely get a to go container. I’m certain it would be just as moist the next day! Our group only went for dessert but after looking at the menu we decided we’re coming back for the food! This is definitely a 5 Star location based on what I saw so I have to go back and confirm. You know if the dessert if excellent the main menu has to be just as good. More often than not we go for the food and leave little room for dessert, but I’m here to tell you leave room for dessert you won’t regret it!
First visit! Went for lunch, it was so good! Had the prime rib sandwich and chips, Chicken Fry sandwich and the dessert ice cream ball with candied Pecans. Could have had a little more beef on sandwich but all was so fresh and hand made tasting! Service was fast and friendly, indoor seating was a little close, but outside is nice! Complimentary bread was awesome!
The food was excellent. The service was classy and high end. We made reservations and had no wait. I tried the cauliflower bread pudding and lived it. Someone else had surf and turf. Someone else had steak. Drinks were good.
This was truly a 5 star experience. Definitely make a reservation and make this a top choice. Everything was perfect, drinks were delicious and mixed right. Appetizer was phenomenal, we got the crab cake, it is fresh and not your standard small round fried puck, the chef reimagined it and nailed it perfectly, it was seasoned perfectly, with a crisp and spice to compliment. The entrees we also amazing, Everything on the plate was cooked perfect and complimented every item put there. I cannot rave enough, definitely try!
A shockingly intimate cafe. While I initially thought the portion was small for $42, I left full. I’ve never enjoyed Brussel sprouts but these are delicious. The potatoes had a delightful chewy char on the bottom. Boneless beef rib was tender with great flavor. I wouldn’t get the cocktail again but I knew it was going to be too sweet for my liking.
Came in a bit late at night and the staff was great they welcomed us, were very polite and happy to assist. Thanks guys for such amazing dinner! The best chicken and salmon! 10/10 most come and won’t regret a bit of it! Cudos to Cass! Our server 💯
An absolute find. Quaint, high end food without being overly bougie. The dress code is high end casual. Our server Will was excellent. We recommend the shrimp and grits, bread pudding, scalloped potatoes and more. Excellent t in every way. Highly recommend this spot.
Food was fantastic! This place was recommended to us by some friends who used to live in OKC. My husband had the All-Nighter coffee-infused bourbon which was fantastic. My son had the chicken fried steak. I had the quinoa avocado salad with shrimp. Place had great ambiance and service was great. Highly recommend!
Very impressed by the staff and culture here at Cheever’s! I’ll be honest, I came in thinking it would be boring and bland and wow did they shut me up. I haven’t been so wrong. The service is absolute. My water never got low the 2+ hours we were there. The food is, just thinking about what to write the biggest smile is on my face right now wishing I was back at dinner last night lol! The food is incredible, the portions are great, the ingredients fresh, the flavor is delightful. I was smiling every bite, from our appetizer, the our soup, and especially my chicken fried steak. Best old fashioned I’ve ever had, I started with beer then switched over for dinner and I wish I started with the old fashioned lol! Management and staff are aware and present. Brussel sprouts were my wife’s favorite! Thank you for an amazing evening Cheever’s. I will 100% be back and now be an advocate for people to too!
It was our first time here, we went for our anniversary. Service was great, food was good. It reminds us of some of our meals we would get while on a cruise.
My husband and I made an impromptu visit for lunch. We were blessed to have Nellie as our server. After introducing herself, she immediately asked if either of us had a food allergy. Unfortunately, I have several food allergies to navigate, but, the shrimp & grits (which were amazing) fit perfectly for me. My husband chose the Masa Vallo Con Huevos and he loved it was well. Nellie made us feel like we left as best friends by the end of visit! We will definitely be back!
Wow. Cheever’s is consistently A+, but I had an especially good experience today. 4:00 on a Saturday and requested the patio in December — the server who greeted us didn’t bat an eye. Our server Dev was great. It was my birthday and the manager came out with a dessert for me, complete with a candle. Everything was so great, it was such a nice spontaneous Cheever’s trip! Thanks especially to those three Good Egg staff.
Anri made us feel so welcome and our entire experience was delightful! We had lunch, I had the chicken fried steak, TRULY the best and my hubs had the seafood tamales, WOW! Perfect for a special occasion or just and an evening or lunch out. We will definitely go back the next time we are near OKC! Keep up the good work!
Recently had dinner and ordered our favorites, seafood tamale and the beef short ribs. Delicious!! We had the pleasure of visiting with Julie Monroe, general manager, who demonstrated excellent customer service and dedication to Cheevers. Highly recommend having dinner here.
Great restaurant, great service & fantastic food. Not a lot of room between tables & restaurant is very noisy. Had a great conversation with the waiter and food was very good & reasonably priced. Will certainly return to this historic restaurant. Large parking lot across the street on 23rd.
I always write a “critical review” of restaurants we dine at. This review will be extremely short because there is absolutely nothing to criticize about a dining experience at Cheevers Tulsa. The service is impeccable, the food is exceptional and the overall dining experience is one of the best, if not the best, in the Tulsa area.
The food absolutely speaks for itself, but Miriam helped elevate my dining experience to an even more amazing level! I was in OKC for work and was recommended this place. Cocktails were made well, the chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve had, the Brussels sprouts went great the toppings they chose, and the ice cream ball dessert was one of my favorites desserts I had out there. I enjoyed the experience so much that I went back a second night to try more things on the menu!
This place was amazing. Our first time coming here. Christian was an absolute treasure of a server. The food was delicious, I had the brisket hash, and my husband had the special of the day. Something covered in cheese. And the coconut cream pie was spot on.
Super fantastic experience at Cheever’s for my birthday lunch! They’ve been on my food radar since I saw a write-up in Southern Living magazine. Cass was a great server, and everyone was so kind in wishing me a happy birthday. The chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy and the prime rib sandwich did not disappoint—both were delicious! The only downside (cough, cough) is that they did not have sweet tea. Thanks to the whole team for a great visit! We look forward to seeing you again soon. (Almost forgot the carrot cake -- the best I've had thus far.)
Ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of green beans and the medium rare ribeye steak. The chicken fried steak had a nice crunch and flavor without it being over peppered like it commonly is. Green beans had some balsamic sauce that wasn't good and the weren't seasoned very well. Salt and pepper was needed. As for the ribeye it was cooked as it was ordered and good flavor. I really couldn't make out the flavor profile. I typically have a1 sauce with mine but they don't keep any on site. However, the server went back and asked the chef to whip up something and they made me one from scratch. Would recommend the sauce. Only issues with the steak was the redwine sauce. Added a bland kind of tart taste? Either way I wouldn't recommend dipping the steak in it to get more flavor. Mashed potatoes are made from scratch and well buttered would recommend. Rolls are good. Butter comes with some brown sugar? On top. Bread is delicious Service was good but it's a little cramped where we were so keep that in mind
We were spending 2 nights in OKC and chose to dine here for dinner one night after reading the reviews. The service was exceptional. The food was ok. We ordered a starter of the bleu cheese potato chips followed by the tortilla crusted halibut. These are dishes that sound unique and for that reason enticing. In my opinion, they don’t really work. Neither was bad, but nor did they stand out or be memorable. The tortilla “crusted” halibut was not such much crusted but rather topped with tortilla chips. It was also somewhat overcooked and the accompanying spicy shrimp risotto was overly salty. The chips were not great in my honest opinion. This is not a bad restaurant but it is expensive for the quality of the dishes. Perhaps other choices on the menu would prove better.
This was our first stop on our Honeymoon and let me just say, the food was amazing! We sat at the bar and had the pleasure to be served by Sam and Travis, they made the entire experience so much fun, they were very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. We ordered the chicken fried steak and sausage rigatoni (I believe) and they split the meals for both of us to try, as an appetizer we ordered the Caesar salad which was delicious and the Chicken tortillas soup was so creamy and very flavorful. This was a very lovely establishment and we will definitely be back! Keep in mind it is on the more expensive side but overall I’d say the staff and the food make it very well worth it!
I met a Friend here for a Birthday Lunch. The atmosphere is cool & the service was amazing! Our waitress was super sweet & friendly. For me, the food was just okay. I had the Shrimp & Grits. My Friend loved her food (Turkey Club) & we shared an appetizer. Again, it was just okay for me but she loved it. The Ice Cream Ball was soooo GOOD!!! So glad we tried it. Overall it was nice. I would go back to try another dish. Giving this a 4/5.
Pretty good, but not excellent! Good chicken fry, but not the same level as my wife makes at home! I am spoiled to home raised beef and an excellent cook. Good coconut cream pie, but not as good as my mother makes on Sundays. A little pricey for the lunch portions I thought. Great service, our waiter was outstanding!! Just one man’s opinion!
I visited this restaurant recently and had an overall average experience. The atmosphere was decent and comfortable, suitable for a casual meal with friends or family. The menu offered a fair selection of dishes, and the food was acceptable, though it did not particularly stand out in taste or presentation. The service was polite and reasonably quick, but lacked any special attention that would make the visit memorable. Prices were fair for the quality provided. While nothing about the restaurant was disappointing, nothing was especially impressive either. It’s an okay place to dine, but there are better options available nearby.
The food was good but not special. I have eaten at a lot better places for quite a bit less in price and got more food. I was expecting more for the price. It would be nice to have salads served before the meal...small cute rolls are served. Tablecloth, candle and flowers on tables gives the place atmosphere. Outside patio tables and chairs. We had one drink each with our meal. Be prepared to spend $70. Or up to $100 plus for 2...not including the tip.
The service was great, and the drinks and bread enjoyable, but the entrées were very disappointing. The hollandaise tasted starchy, the fried steak and its breading were dry, and the potatoes were forgettable. The shrimp and grits hit all the wrong notes—overly sweet, swimming in oil, and quite fishy.
