British style pub. Very authentic Even the hostess had a British accent. Fish and chips were really good. Large portions. Not cheap, expensive but worth it. Stopped here from the San Francisco RV park. Lucky to find it because it wasn't in their guide.
If you want fish and chips, literally don't even look elsewhere. This place BANGS. Feels like stepping into a pub in the UK. Absolutely love the sweet potato fries, and a single piece of fish is enough to fill me up. Reheats well at home too (via air fryer) because it's actually been originally battered and fried to perfection. The interior is small and fills up fast - so just get an order to go and walk the 50 yards to the ocean and enjoy. Can't get better than this.
My wife and I were spending 3 weeks driving the PCH last October,2025 when the hotel receptionist recommended this cozy restaurant. OH MY GOD! We live in northern Wisconsin, surrounded by Germans, Norwegians and catholics where Friday night fish fry’s are an art form. Our 35 years of marriage covers most of America, including Boston, Maine, Alaska and Hawaii, sampling fish along every coast. We’ve traveled extensively to Scotland, Ireland, Norway and England. We attended the Guinness Academy in Dublin and are “Certified Pint Pour Masters” and have the plaques to prove it. I provide our history so you can rate our judgements. WE HAD A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE HERE!!! I ordered the fish and chips with a pint of Guinness from the tap. The fish was delicious, light and flaky batter, wrapped in newspaper as British tradition demands with malt vinegar and brown sauce on the table for the fries. The beer was fresh and clean with a perfect head in the proper harp glass, the best Guinness I’ve had in America. My wife ordered the crab cakes with a Smithwicks Red Ale, also on tap. We agreed that these were the FINEST CRAB CAKES WE’VE EVER TASTED, better than anything on the east coast! In fact, we ordered two more orders (4 total) to go for the next night, safely stored in our cooler until then. Our journey took us south along the coast but we returned through the middle of California, visiting Sequoia, Yosemite and Sacramento before heading east. How good were the crab cakes? We seriously discussed driving 5 hours out of our way to refill our cooler so we could share with our foodie family. (Any chance you can ship to Wisconsin, packed in dry ice? We get genuine polish sausage and pirogies delivered from Buffalo, New York……). Five Michelin stars, four thumbs up and two very, very large smiles.
If you’re craving authentic, delicious fish and chips, Camelot Fish & Chips is the spot. This place nails it every time. I usually go for the classic fish and chips, but the shrimp and chips are just as good perfectly fried, golden, and cooked exactly how it should be. No grease overload, just clean, crispy, satisfying bites. And the French fries… straight heat. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right they’re honestly my favorite part of the meal, which says a lot considering how good everything else is. You can taste the consistency and care in every order. Simple menu, flawless execution, and comfort food done right. Camelot is one of those places you keep coming back to because it never misses.
Great little fish n chips spot just outside the city. One the best I've had not in the UK. Seating is limited though so a short wait is possible, but DEFINITELY worth it. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Came on in here for the fish and chips. They have the nice Christmas decorations up. I ordered the fish and sausage and chips. The chips were glcrispy. The fish was flaky and moist with crunchy batter. The sausage was deep fried too and was different. I never had a banger deep fried. I probably wont order it again.
Excellent fish and chips. Can't believe ive lived so close by for last 5 years and just never tried them. Id say better than a few places down the coast in HMB as well
I stopped into Camelot Fish & Chips in Pacifica after work, looking for something different. I arrived around 6:30 without realizing they closed at 7, but the staff couldn’t have been nicer. I grabbed a seat at the small bar, got pointed to the digital menu on the wall, and appreciated the straightforward selection—fish and chips, chicken and chips, and a couple of extras. No guesswork. I ordered the four-piece chicken and chips to go, and the bartender even suggested I had time for a quick beer. The place is tiny—maybe 25–30 seats—but full of quirky charm. Holiday decorations everywhere: Thanksgiving turkeys, Santa, little surprises tucked around the room. Even the Christmas music was pumped through a surprisingly good sound system. The food was the highlight. Perfectly cooked chicken and the best “traditional British fries” I’ve ever had—light, crispy, full of flavor. I'll go with Camelot fries over In-n-Out any day! A great little spot with friendly service and excellent food. I’ll be back.
Visited Camelot Fish and Chips in Pacifica today around noon, and the place immediately gave off a cozy British vibe. The menu has a surprising number of options for fish and chips, including clams, oysters, pollock, and a few others. I went with the classic fish and chips since it seemed to be the most recommended in earlier reviews. The fish was incredibly moist and the batter was perfectly crispy. I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. The serving size for the two-piece meal was huge, definitely enough to fill you up. Got onion rings as well as an additional side and it was crispy and the dipping it in the ranch sauce was amazing. The staff were extremely courteous and welcoming. They checked on us a few times to make sure everything was good, which made the experience even better. I recommend it to everyone who loves proper fish and chips. This spot is worth the stop.
Camelot is the type of bar where you order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. We had the fish & chips $20, fish, shrimp, oysters and scallops (the Camelot) $30, fried mushrooms $8 and beers. The restaurant was full at 6:30pm on a Tuesday. The fish and chips were good. It came out piping hot with decent sized fries. Along with ketchup, malt vinegar, tarter sauce, they even have that tangy brown HP sauce at my table. The restaurant felt British, although the bar staff didn't have an English accent.
After all these years, we finally tried this place. We're not big on fish and chips. We usually only eat fish during Lent. We were in the area and decided to go here for lunch. When you walk in, it's not that big but so many pictures to look at. It has a very welcoming and homey vibe. You can tell, there's a whole lot of history here. I was greeted and helped right away. Georgia was super nice and helped me narrow down my order, but I still got a sample of everything they had to offer. She was super patient with me and friendly. She seemed like she enjoyed working here. I ordered: 1. The camelot - This was the perfect sampler. I've never tried fried oysters or scallops before. The fish was light and flaky. Surprisingly, the oysters and scallops didn't lose their flavor with the batter. You can taste the flavor of each item. It didn't taste like they were all the same thing since it was fried. The chips were thick and crunchy. 2. Krabbycakes and onion rings - This is not your standard crab cake. It was light and flavorful. The onion rings were amazing as well, super crunchy. 3. Deep fried twinkies - This was amazing. It's to eat it right away. 4. Cock & bull ginger beer & root beer - both were perfect and complimented thr food. This place was delicious. I had told Georgia I was looking for bread or something to absorb all the greasiness. Surprisingly, I don't think you need it. The food was all fried but didn't make me feel like it was too much. Usually with fried foods, you feel like you need tea or something to help digest or help with that heavy feeling. Here it was not the case, it was perfect. I felt like I could eat so much more. Maybe this is why they've been around for 55 years or more. The food was amazing, the service was above and beyond. I will definitely be back
Chips were delicious, crispy exterior fluffy on the inside. Not quite like chips I had in the UK. Probably cause different starch content from potatoes. Fish was alright, fresh cod. Batter was a bit greasy for my tastes. Most of the fish I had in the UK came out thick and long like a baby’s forearm. Here I got 2 medium sized flat pieces. Nothing stood out from the scallops other than them tasting fresh. hint of the sea. I heard angels singing when I had their tartar sauce. I will ask for extra on my next visit.
Fish and chips at Camelot Fish and Chips. Fish was tasty and good. Chips were a little soggy, but not bad. Overall satisfying and delicious. No worthy beer available. Just some Stella. Nothing else available on tap or in containers this visit. Always great to head down the block for a great sunset on the bluff above the beach.
Go for the fish but not the chips. The fish is outstanding and has a great crispy batter. The menu on the wall even has a line that says do not expect crispy French fries. So that's why I'm only giving 4 stars. It would be five if they could get their act together and make the french fries crispy. Most people, I imagine, want crispy fries so if I were in charge charge, that's the change I would make.
Feels like an old tavern, of sorts, but if you're here for the fish and chips, well, that is a whole other story -- yummy. I enjoyed a long-lost treat. There used to be places like this all around, but few are left where you'll find a traditional import like this -- right here, LOL. Enjoy the meal, the drink and the walk at the beach! #TheBrokerWithAHeart.
I went here after searching for fih and Chips and word is this was one of the best places to go.... After arriving and hearing some people inside talk about how this was the best seafood they had I got excited to try it. Once I ordered ( crab cakes, fish and chips and fried mushrooms) it was horrible.... The fish tasted old and smelled bad, it seemed like the used old greese to fry the food and there was absolutely no flavor. Nothing was seasoned and that was sad because the presentation was great the staff were great and the atmosphere was just what I was looking for but the food was just horrible and I will not be going back hopefully no one else has a bad experience but to me absolute 0 out of 10.
