I stopped by this place to take out food . I ordered a sandwich with ciabata bread ,chicken with pesto sauce it's was very delicious. One day I will come back again to eat there.
My husband and I have been a huge fan of Kim’s gluten free carrot cake ever since we tried it first time. No need to go to NY city to seek the best carrot cake. I had ordered one for our anniversary and it came with beautiful flower decorations and we fell in love with Kim’s carrot cake again!! The cake is gluten free which is one of the reasons we are going to 9w market for carrot cakes since we are trying to get away from any form of wheat in our diet. Even if it is gluten free, the cake is sooo delicious that this anniversary cake is the 3rd one in last 3 weeks!! Highly recommend their bakery goods and foods as well. We thank Kim for making our anniversary happier😊
Nice small place next to 9W route to stop for a coffee and cake. They have other food as well as the grill. Lot of motorcycles and bicycle riders on the stop. Very peaceful and quiet place though. Tends to be busy on weekends.
Just leaving this place… I usually come here with my bike, which is by the way a must stop place for a coffee and sandwich. But now I also come with my family. It is a great place in many ways: food, service and people. Fire pit in the evening is a special cherry on top.
The burgers and sweet potato fries here slap so hard... especially if you burned 2k calories to get to it
Came here with my parents and daughter for the first time and we will definitely be coming back!! The food was amazing and the staff was so kind, patient and just genuinely friendly. If you have the chance, ABSOLUTELY head here to enjoy a wonderful meal!
What a great place! I'm not able to drive past without stopping whenever I'm in the area. Whether I stop for the best burgers and ice cream or go to the cafe to sit, I'm always happy with the great food and incredibly friendly service. 10/10 all the way around!
I am one of many cyclists who visit this little haven. From a cyclists perspective, the abundance of outdoor seating, the welcoming staff, and the amazing coffee and baked goods make it the best cycling pit stop anywhere near NYC. However, having had the opportunity to try an abundance of items on the menu, it is also ideally suited for anyone who wants a hearty, reasonably priced meal with a little bit of sunshine mixed in. This place is a must visit.
So many overhyped places nowadays, where are the actual gems? Here, at 9W Market the ambience was very loving, warm, and inviting. This place should be a destination. As a professional baker, this is some of the best rugelach I’ve ever had! The pastry offerings looked truly homemade and generous with a robust rustic charm. The food was made with so much attention to quality ingredients and the owner was extremely generous with serving us on our first experience here. Exceptional hospitality. Please support this business—it is a hidden gem.
The most delicious pastries. The chicken pesto sandwich was the best I have ever tasted. Friendly employees.
Great place even greater (eg huge) prices. Still a good place to relax after a hike and many bike trails also end up there. The chef is great and they also have an outside vending with burgers and stuff.
Stopped by chance on the way back to the city and adding it to my favorites! There's food, coffee, pastries, plenty of options for eating/drinking. The outdoor area was the best, we were able to sit and enjoy the weather with our dog and let traffic die down. Great atmosphere.
The staff was nice and I’m extremely great full for the cups of ice and usage of power. I stopped here to recharge my ebike and phone batteries. Unfortunately I didn’t purchase anything to eat (but everything did look tasty) because I had already ate breakfast and lunch as I was on my journey but I stopped here on my ebike ride from the Bronx up to the Governor Cuomo bridge.
What a cool place for lunch. Food was delicious, service quick parking easy.
Nice place. Good vibes. Great food. Stopped by to have lunch with some friends after a nice long drive. You can sit outside or inside if there is seating available. Trendy. Boujee. Have your wallet ready 😆. Good for families to sit down and eat.
Best Coffee stop and bestest service.. it’s very tastefully created space (wooden benches , fresh flowers 💐)on the beautiful 9W road. Very busy and happy coffee/market place for all travelers, hikers, bikers and cyclists..very very kid and pet friendly .. I love love 💕 their coffee and flourless chocolate cake.. there is plenty of seating area .. they have plenty parking space . They have pizzas , sandwiches, salads but You get freshly made burgers French fries too .. they have a little market place for condiments and wine too.. overall love the vibe ..if you are heading to bear mountains/ upstate, Connecticut or just driving over this is a must stop place
A favorite pit stop for bicycle riders along 9W, this place gets really busy early morning hours, because of all the bikers stopping by. They have indoor and outdoor seatings, serving bakery goods, breakfast, deli goods, pizza and lobster rolls. The bakery items are really impressive, well made bread, croissants, cupcakes, cookies, pastries, and many more items. To me their bakery is the best among all the things they sell. We tried some of their breakfast items. Its mostly eggs, bread and salad style dishes. They are made well and served within a decent time. The lobster rolls are pricey for their quality, but they are good! It's nice place to hangout with f&f in nice summer days, to enjoy some good meal.
This was my first time going to this place. I was on a bike ride with a group of friends and we stopped here to rest. It was our destination point. It seems to be where all bike riders come to rest and have a bite to eat. I found this place to be very nice and cozy. It was very cold out side from the ride and this place was a perfect place to stop get warm, eat and have so.e hot chocolate. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming.
Rode my motorcycle up from Maryland for bikes and breakfast and to see friends. Great experience and will be back. Food is very good.
I honestly can’t believe how amazingly good and beautiful this spot is! I went for a hike at Tallman Mountain and when I got out I see this really nice spot and thank the heavens that I did! Like WOW!! The lobster roll is just sooooo freaking good, amazing service, dog friendly and there’s sooo many options that now I know I have to go back multiple times to try it! I 150% recommend it and will definitely be coming back and inviting friends!
Sebastian and Henny have great service, great communication, and incredible hearts , they both deserve a raise!
Absolutely fantastic baked goods and prepared gourmet foods! Sarah is a delight and the food is phenomenal!
Great spot to grab lunch and enjoy a beautiful day. Dog friendly!! We often come here after walking the trail with our kids and pup. This is a big stop for cyclists so it can get crowded. You can choose between the burger shack or the indoor market that honestly delicious. Great stop for food enthusiasts.
Been here multiple times during bike rides. They always have nice pies. Once had a burrito and it was alright. Had the banana cream pie today and it was amazing! Friendly staff, quick service, and they have nice outdoor seating, and bike racks. Also a good restroom stop during long rides.
This place is amazing. I first came Here in the summer of 2020. Food is absolutely amazing. I’ve had breakfast lunch and dinner and everything has always taste very good and fresh. I highly recommend this place. They also have an outside seating area, which is great for the spring and summer. The owners are great and they have the best burgers! If you’re around 9 W Highway you have to stop by! My favorite lunch is a tuna, fish sandwich and sunshine salad! And my favorite treat is oatmeal cookie!
Amazing pastry selection. Everything I've tried from here is absolutely delicious. Same goes for the crafted coffee beverages. Great atmosphere for sitting down and enjoying a sip before a journey.
Tucked behind a gas station with a bit of a misleading name, lies a wonderful coffee shop bakery light food place The pastries are wonderful as are their quiches I opted for their one protein and two sides and chose the shrimp skewers with a side of wilde rice and mushrooms all were very good. I didn't like the taste of the iced tea and it was replaced with no charge. The outdoor scenery is picking through the big glass windows the atmosphere is informal and warm.
I felt like taking a scenic ride on 9W when I came across this local gem. I was hungry and thirsty, so I figured let me give it a shot. What a pleasant, refreshing surprise! Inside, the Counterservice was above courteous cheery and informative. The Menu was sound, fresh and elegant. The BLT was not your everyday BLT....Thick slabs of bacon, with a vine ripened beefsteak tomato on a beautifully crusted bread. But it wasn't just the lunch, that was just very good......The BAKERY section blew me away! The Olive Oil Citrus Cake and Fresh Sourdough Bread were SO GOOD that I ended up buying not just a slice of each, but the entire Cake, as well a loaf of their wonderful Sourdough Bread. I have been in the Food Industry for 35 years and have never tasted a Sourdough Bread or Olive Oil Citrus like that since I traveled and toured Europe extensively. Wow! Many bakeries sell Sourdough Bread, they more than not, use yeast to speed up the process at a lower cost; But this bread was different, it was not americanized with yeast. This had a classic European flavor and touch. I can tell there was no yeast in this bread, but rather ...it was fermented...It is a staple in Europe and takes much longer to make....but it is worth it! If you never had a Sourdough Bread that was fermented, it's time to try this and realize what you have been missing and realize also how healthy it is for you and family. You will also realize what you have been eating. I'm pretty sure you will never have the yeast driven bread again. This was special and worth the trip to this wonderful, local gem. Bravo 9W Market.
Excellent food!!! Surprisingly one of the best brunches, including the fancy options in manhattan. True organic and very fresh ingredients. The fluffyness of the bread and the eggs are SO GOOD.
I live in the area and ride my bicycle and motorcycle past this place hundreds of times. Decided to stop for a coffee break on a cold fall day. Not bad. Will definitely come by more of often.
Lively and cozy spot for bikers, hikers, and drivers. Plenty of inside and outdoor seating -including a fire pit. Dog friendly as a result. Lots of drink and food options -from breakfast sweets to hearty savory eats. Gluten and vegetarian options too. Plenty of parking. Definitely worth a visit whether warm or cold.
We absolutely love this sweet spot. It's become somewhat of a tradition on our ride from NC to MA to go a little.out of our way and stop first at Palisades and then here. We grab a burger next door and get a box of goodies to take to my in laws. It's pricey but delicious and high quality.
This cute place was so lovely that I came back couple of days in a row. The breakfast menu is not big but good variety of options. The coffee was really good too! Plenty of outdoor seating and you’re surrounded with a beautiful green forest. I hear that on the weekend this place is packed with Cyclists and Motorcycles and I can see why… but in the mid week it wasn’t an issue at all
Great little stop on 9W for amazing fresh food and pastry options. Very busy on a Sat afternoon (there are a lot of bikers and bicyclists on 9W) but well worth the wait. Our server, Liz, went above and beyond and has a great sense of humor. She also makes a mean chai latte. Cozy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The perfect casual lunch spot.
A must stop: All riders welcome! Roadbikes and motorcycles alike, there is an incredible friendly community here for a well deserved rest. Service here is great, they will fill up your water bottle at the counter. Delicious pastries and desserts available and full food and coffee menu too. Plenty of seating inside and out, a welcoming atmosphere for all!
Went on a busy Sunday, service a bit slow but nice stop after a hike or bike ride. Old gas station turned into a market on right side, burger stand on left. Sweet potato fries are excellent, market food also good but pricey.
Lovely little market on Rt. 9. They have a fantastic Burger Bar outside, and additional seating inside the former Service Station. The Food is much nicer than one might expect for a roadside stop. Try the Quiche - it's great.
9w Market offers a delightful culinary stop for those exploring the adjacent park or indulging in outdoor activities. Its strategic location makes it a popular choice, particularly on sunny weekends when the area buzzes with energy. The food here stands out, with a menu that promises fresh, flavorful choices that surpass typical rest stop fare. From hearty sandwiches and gourmet salads to artisanal baked goods, the quality of the ingredients is evident in each bite. However, the pricing can feel steep, especially considering the casual setting and self-service format, which might make some visitors ponder the value for money. Despite its culinary strengths, 9w Market faces challenges with its popularity, particularly during peak times. The influx of visitors can lead to longer wait times, a drop in service attentiveness, and a scramble for parking, which can detract from the overall experience. The crowded space not only impacts service but also affects the usually relaxed ambiance, making it feel more hectic than hospitable. For those planning a visit, it might be wise to target less busy hours or be prepared for the bustle. Overall, while 9w Market offers a tasty and convenient option for park-goers and sports enthusiasts, potential visitors should weigh the cost and timing to maximize their enjoyment.
Expensive but I get why... it's a guaranteed stop for most cyclists passing that way. Can't fault it! The coffee is okay, I would stick to the drop and avoid getting fancy here
After climbing 9W from either direction. This is a cozy in the cut place t o fuel up/ energy. Relax/laughs/smack talk😉😊. Nice menu/beverages, more than friendly atmosphere. I met 2 people that I've never seen in my life. We ate & sat, talked like we knew each other for years..
Bikes and Breakfast was a good time. Blueberry scone wasn't dry, and tea was good. Gets a bit busy, but line moved quick and was worth standing in for 10 minute. Lot of bicyclists, seems to be a bit of a meat market for cyclists from the city. Overall theyre not as annoying as usual cyclists are.
I'm a "local," and I've been coming to 9W Market for years. The food is excellent. However, our experience yesterday evening was disappointing. My husband and I each ordered a glass of wine. The pour was much smaller than in years past and was served in warm wine glasses (most likely, they had just come out of the dishwasher). I remarked to our server that this was a very small pour and a change from the past, and he seemed indifferent and said "that's what it is." My husband took the warm glasses back to the main counter to get new glasses; the server plunked two new glasses on the counter and walked away, and my husband poured our wine from the old glasses into the new glasses. This is not the kind of hospitality I would expect or desire. Then, when our order was ready, half of our dinner order had not been prepared. When the server looked it up he realized it had been forgotten. We waited another 15 minutes for the rest of our order to be ready. There did not appear to be an owner or manager in charge - or at least nobody we could see in the hour + we were there. Perhaps there has been a change of ownership? Our food was excellent, but the service was unprofessional. This was the first time we've had that type of experience.
One of my regular spots to meet-up with the MC crew or just come for a burger and a beer to unwind. Great staff, really good food and atmosphere. Bathroom situation needs work on weekends due to constant flood of cyclists from NYC. Bikes & Breakfast (Motorcycle meetup) first Sunday of every month. Hope what happened in July (Bikes made to go to the back where all the gravel is) was a one time snub otherwise 5 stars for sure. We are regulars too and, gravel and motorcycles don't mix). Otherwise, a favorite spot of mine and many I ride with.
I'm not quite as big a fan as some people, maybe bc I go by this place nearly every day. Yes,they have plenty of fresh food. Yes, the selection is well above a typical sandwich shop or deli. And yes, plenty of space to sit and hang out a bit, especially when weather is good for sitting outside. I guess it's the pricing, which is higher than a typical sandwich shop - $30 for a lobster roll? But even that is fair if you consider the convenience and the location - Palisades, just outside celebrity ridden Sneden's Landing. Ok, I just talked myself into a 4 for the Market.
This place is a go-to spot for motorcyclists and cyclists looking to refuel and recharge. The burgers look delicious. Their fresh bakery selection is also a highlight, with pastries and breads that are clearly made with care. Add in the friendly staff, cool atmosphere, and plenty of space to park and relax, and you’ve got the perfect pit stop for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee break.

Cozy and inviting roadside cafe; really tasty food! FOOD: My boyfriend and I stopped here on the way back from a hike. The CT Lobster rolls on a sign out front caught my eye and tasted even better than they looked. Warm and buttery and served with a side salad. I ordered the classic Mac and cheese - this exceeded my expectations. Creamy, cheesy with a crispy herbal topping. DRINKS: Didn’t go for anything alcoholic, got a root bear which was sweet and tasty. I did notice that this spot had a variety of IPA’s and good amount of healthy refreshing drinks, and homemade lemonades too. SERVICE: The server’s were really nice and were great with suggesting different food options. AMBIANCE: For a roadside stop, this place is pretty quaint. It’s small inside but has a nice size patio along the side that leads out into the parking lot. Lots of greenery around and nice that this place is dog-friendly. OVERALL: Definitely a great spot to grab a bite of something good and relax before hitting the road again.
Good location but breakfast were terrible Ordered two ice americanos - no taste.. put 2/3 of coffee (mostly water)
We were 5 seniors in need of a pit stop after 3 hours in the car. But we did not actually enter the shop itself, we just used the bathroom which was accessible from the parking lot. We were all grateful for the toilet but this might be the filthiest restroom ever. I would get a good look at the kitchen first if I were to eat there. P.S. I do realize that people are dirty animals and a bathroom is apt to show that most quickly. Peace
The lady at the counter seemed especially frustrated and rude tonight - as the line grew and she fumbled with the register. Probably trying to keep up with how overpriced everything is. The store is conveniently located at least. Lines can get long as people pile in for quick drinks and snacks, but the staff always seem to take their sweet time.
What a drop in quality. Order messed up, burgers shrank and overcooked. There is so much salt in the meat it is impossible to eat. Fries also with tones of salt. Cannot even comment on it. . Used to be 5 stars . Down to 2. What a shame.
Lobster roll was a complete rip off. $30 for somethin that had far less in it than the photo showed. I feel like the guy deliberately gave me less cause I asked how much lobster came with it.
This is a review of the market. The amount of bees and flies in the actual market is understandable with the open doors/wall BUT watching them land in the seafood salads, side dishes, and even the cream pie was more than a little disgusting. Questionable food health is an issue and couldn’t bring myself to order anything after I was told there’s no food in the kitchen, only what is sitting out.
We’ve been coming here for a few years, but it’s really gone downhill. The tables are filthy on the patio and the chairs all have rips on them and are rusty. The food is OK. For two people one lobster roll one crab roll and two small sides we just spent $80. If you’re paying $30 for a lobster roll and $25 for a crab roll, you expect seating that doesn’t have rips or rust!
Stopped by because of the great reviews but sadly the place did not meet our expectations. The coffee was okay and service was not very kind. They got the order wrong and so I tried to correct her nicely so she could get it correctly the first time but she snapped at me and said I wasn't patient. We tried to order non dairy milk, but again that caused her to be frustrated. I said large but then she put in small. At the end I couldn't get the order I wanted. Cute place but won't be coming back again.
I took my wife out for a late lunch to the 9W Market because I had been there back in August I had a good experience. Food My wife and I ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken sandwich. The Sandwich itself comes with two thick slices of breaded chicken breast along with the Chipotle Mayo, Pickles on a Brioche Bun. I found the Bun to be too soft and flaky. The sandwich wasn't cut up in halves so it pretty much fell apart after taking the first bite. I ended up using a fork and knife to eat it. It definitely did not hold up to the $18.95 price. Dessert: I ordered the giant chocolate chip cookie. The Cookie was nice and warm with melted chocolate inside. It tasted pretty good. Service: Right after we ordered, the person at the counter forgot to give us a buzzer. So I had to ask another person at the counter to get the buzzer. I think this was an honest mistake that anyone could do so I didn't care much. The Atmosphere: When you walk into the restaurant, there is a funky smell. Some restaurants tend to have this smell, so I didn't really worry about it too much. We decided to dine in. After we ordered and paid for our food, we went to grab a table. We noticed that all the empty tables all had crumbs and bits on it. We used a napkin to wipe off the table. The table was a bit sticky. This was strike 1. Since my sandwich started falling apart, I grabbed a set of fork and a knife and decided to use it to eat my sandwich. The utensils all had a stains on them and looked like they weren't properly washed with soap. This was strike 2 The combination of a dirty table and utensils that looked like they weren't washed or cleaned properly made me ask myself on whether I should have came here in the first place. The funky smell in the restaurant did not help and I couldn't fully enjoy the sandwich. This ended up being strike 3 and made me want to just finish eating and leave the place. Recommendation for the management: 1) Please get rid of the funky smell 2) Please clean the tables after each customer leaves. You may have to employ more staff. 3) Please do a better job of cleaning the utensils and ensure there are no stains.
It is almost that they went out of their way to ensure nothing there is plant based, in spite of their extensive menu. You would imagine that an establishment that evidently services so many active customers would at least offer one vegan item. That usually happens when management projects their personal bias and forgetting they are there to serve the greater public. Try it, I bet you many of the cyclists and others are plant based. welcome to the 2000's.
Super disappointed with the quality of my lobster rolls.. I was here before the food was amazing and now they serve me half of the meat the go on the lobster roll unbelievable with the quality for that price is robbery.. I’f u give me my money back I would delete This thank u
I visited 9W Market around 6 PM and ordered a chicken sandwich at the counter for dine-in. The staff member at the register gave me a buzzer and told me to pick up my order when it rang. Instead, she later brought the food to my table, put the plate down hard, and when I said thank you, she responded, “A tip would have been nice.” Being tip-shamed for not tipping at the counter was inappropriate, unprofessional, and made the experience very unpleasant.
