Went on a late Sunday night about 8.30pm. Service was quick and the food was pretty good. Ordered a bunch of items including idli, bisi belle bath, Poori masala, set dosa, paneer sizzler, and my sore masala dosa. Coconut chutney and sambhar were very good. Paneer sizzler was very tasty, some paneer cubes seemed a bit dry, but overall was a pretty good dish and would order all of it again.
I discovered BLR Bar and Curry during a company layover in Morrisville, NC, and I'm so glad I did! Just a short walk from my hotel, this restaurant impressed me from the moment I walked in. The place was immaculately clean and bustling with diners—mostly of Indian descent, which I took as a great sign of authenticity. I ordered the Rasam soup which was authentically hot and flavorful, followed by the Mysore Masala Dosa. Both dishes were excellently prepared and delivered the genuine South Indian flavors I was hoping for. The menu features several rice bath variations and many other tempting options at very reasonable prices. What struck me most was the combination of authenticity, quality, and value. This place is clearly beloved by those who know good Indian cuisine. I only wish I could have tried everything on the menu! I'll definitely return on my next layover. If you're in Morrisville and craving authentic South Indian food, BLR Bar and Curry is absolutely worth your time.
Delicious 🤤 food and great 👍 service They have added variety to traditional Indian food. We ordered paneer butter masala, paneer Lababdar. Paneer Lababdar was new to us and yes, we loved it. We will get it again for sure. Bonda Soup is also something new that we don’t see much. It was good to try something new. We also ordered Mysore Masala, which was prepared very well. The service was good and food tasted really yummy 🤤. Kesari Halwa (dessert) was just the right way to end our dinner. I highly recommend this place. …and yes, don’t forget authentic filter coffee ☕️.

Food is always freshly made and the dose , coconut chutney Sambar are the best n most authentic 😋 Great service and all the staff are very friendly😊💖 MUST GO Place for the authentic South Indian food and we even love their biryani which is very flavorful , jackfruit sukka , curry, bread basket & their signature dessert COCONUT DELIGHT 😋Overall if you’re missing out best vegetarian food then I highly recommend BLR 😊 Good luck team BLR .. keep growing and keep serving the best food ❤️
We carry out dinner today, Amazingly great food. Very yummy dosa idli and uttapam and it’s satisfied our taste buds. Also I requested for the extra chutney and sambhar and they packed good amount of it. Highly recommend place for South Indian food. Thank you so much for your great service guys 🙏🙏
Absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming I tried their Dosas / idli and it was easily the best I’ve had in a long time. Our server Vijay was attentive and made great recommendations. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great meal and a good vibe!"
Great place to visit for Indian food. We've ordered South Indian food and everything was tasty. Particularly they have given lot for Mysore Bajji. Other items like Dosa, Masala soda, Coffee were good. We have visited around 5pm and within 30min total hotel was full with crowd. "Siva" who has done the service is very cooperative, waited till we have finished the order, provided good suggestions. I really appreciate his nature and fairness. we visit again when we get a chance and will recommend to our friends & relatives.
The food was outstanding! Tons of flavor. The cheese dosa had a great texture and flavor. It is very filling to eat by yourself, so beware. All of the sides that came were delicious. I couldn't pick my favorite. The cauliflower app was delicious as well. Think General Tsao minus the sweetness. It has all the flavor and spice and the texture is great. I'm not a vegetarian, generally speaking but you won't miss the meat because of all the flavor and spices. Highly recommend!
I visited BLR Bar and Curry this morning for breakfast, and it was hands-down one of the most authentic and satisfying meals I’ve had in a long time. The flavors were genuinely South Indian—fresh, comforting, and absolutely delicious. Every dish tasted like it was made with care and real passion. A special shoutout to Sagar, Vandana, and Garima for their outstanding hospitality. They were warm, attentive, and made the entire experience feel personal. Their service added so much to the overall charm of the place. If you’re looking for authentic food, great ambiance, and exceptional service, BLR Bar and Curry is a must-visit. I’m already looking forward to my next meal here!
Absolutely the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Having lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and Orlando, I’ve been fortunate to eat some incredible Indian food. This restaurant (in North Carolina of all places), was the greatest flavor, texture and overall experience. Our incredible server, Sadhasivam, suggested our entire menu, and he did NOT disappoint! We had Paneer and Naan but the intensity of flavors was so incredible that I couldn’t even finish my food. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
We ordered idli and vada dish and masala dosa vegan. Both were extraordinary. Masala was like a savory steamed potato mash mixed with the sambar heat was great. The vada was better than I have had at other places. The idli were light and fluffy and when dipped in the sambar creates a symphony in your mouth. I love that it is a vegetarian place with vegan options. It is wonderful to find a cruelty free place close to our favorite market to eat.
Great food, fast service. Both ambiance and service feel a bit like India. Both in its speed and bluntness. Usually servers give subtle hints for you to leave. Over here they straight up told us that there's people waiting and asked us if we were going to order anything else. I appreciate them being upfront. Food was great, lots of vegetarian South Indian options. Dosas were delicious. When I asked for restaurant recommendations in the area, all of my friends recommended BLR. Ambiance could be improved. Feels dim and dull on the inside, but that doesn't seem to deter the crowd. This place gets packed.
Visited this Restaurent while on our trip to NC. Loved the food here, very comfort food. We ordered the mysore masala dosa and it was really good. We were fortunate to get the idlis which were just prepared and they were very very soft. Loved the idlis and dosas here. The sambhar and chutneys are also good, the sambhar was very homely and we all loved it. We also ordered smoked paneer tikka which was average as the paneer was not that soft and had lot of chewy texture but overall we loved the place. Service was decent too and the server was very sweet. You see the girl in yellow, because of her we got some royal treatment as the owner knew her since she was a regular there. So they do care for their loyal customers
We came here for dinner and started with a soft doa for our 3 year old, Tindora Fry and Rasam. The portions are very generous, and if your spicy-tolerance is low, you'll probably have some issues, but the food is delicious regardless. So delicious that we went here the next day for lunch. We started with the Bonda soup, which is not Aloo Bonda, but the regular Uddin Vade in Dal. It was tasty and not spicy. We also got 2 Onion Uttappas (without green chillies). It took a while to arrive, but our son liked it a lot and we finished it entirely. The Filter Coffees were the perfect way to end both meals. BLR is definitely worth dining at.
I went back here twice! Closest taste to what's available back home in Bangalore. Perfect crispy dosas, with delicious chutney and sambar. Every south Indian item on the menu was delicious and finger licking good. Had the chance to talk to one of the owners and thank them. This will be a must go place anytime I visit NC. Hope the restaurant maintains it with growing popularity.
Our group ordered smoke paneer and afgani paneer appetizers. .. good quantity for paneer appetizers... smoked paneer was good... afgani wasn't afgani - not creamy/white .. taste was okay Dosas were alright.. red/tomato chutney was great... dosas were small and laden with oil/ghee.. dripping wet - I guess thats why restaurant dosas are so crispy! I am sure they can make them good without so much oil (also prices recently increased by 5%-20% but its a restaurant decision so no complains there - my favorite podi idly went up from $10 to $12 while regular idly is $8) :(
Loved their vada sambhar. Onion uttapam was fine not that great ( had better than this at balaji cafe in Charlotte) Rava masala dosa was good. We also ordered bitter panner and naan which again didn’t disappoint us Maybe they can start offering free sambhar refills and improve their uttapam Overall food was delicious and would surely visit again when in town
We go to BLR for their Rava Masala dosa usually and one has to overlook the service and the congested dining hall when you like their food. I like their Rava masala dosa coz it’s just the right size and is not too oily. We have tried many of their dishes. A couple weeks ago we decided to dine at BLR again. We know that it gets crowded as it is very popular with Indian customers. We reached there at 6:20pm so it was still very early by Indian standards. Only a few tables were taken. We knew what we wanted so ordered right away. The appetizer, which was idly and sambar took 35 minutes to be served. We were three of us. In the next 15 minutes two dishes came. The server asked me if I had ordered anything- It was the same server who had taken my order for Rava masala dosa- not a good sign! I reminded him. The other two people with me had already eaten their food and mine was still nowhere in sight. At 7:50pm I called the server and asked him to cancel my order. He simply said “ok”. Another server brought us our bill. No word of apology! I understand that as humans we make mistakes. All that was needed was for the waiter to apologize. I hope the owners of the restaurant put some effort in training staff. I was very disappointed.
We went to BLR Bar & Curry yesterday for a quick dinner as we had a very busy day and were feeling under the weather, just craving something comforting. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The paneer tikka was burnt and overloaded with some chat masala, so bad we couldn’t take a second bite. Mangalore bajji was okay. The kesari bath was dry and tasted stale. Service was equally poor.. the person who seated us was nice and took the first order but never came back, and we kept waiting for someone to add to our order or clear plates, while staff just stood around. For the prices they charge, we expected much better. Regretted going, won’t be back.
