Two of us ordered a half pound of smoked brisket with sides and drinks for brunch. The broccoli, waffle fries, and mac and cheese were all great. The mocktail with homemade syrup was very good, must try. The vibe in the restaurant is nice, high ceilings and an open space. Good service as well.
First time going there... Place is very spacious Lots of room to walk around... When there is no game... For me it was a bit to expensive.. Overall... Pretty cool place..
Started my day early visiting from Culver City as I'm staying from out of state, from Washington State. Started at Stone and got lunch at craft but was fortunate enough to run into a bartender named Meg. Down to earth and attentive and honest on questions about the food and drinks. Was recommend the brisket and wasn't disappointed but could need improvement. The meal itself was great and filling for 15 bucks. Probably the cheapest meal I have gotten next to Carl's Jr. Everyone here has been so enjoyable but Meg stood out as a real person. I would recommend going here as it seems customer service is definitely a priority and that makes up for a couple dry bites of brisket. Waffle fries were 10/10.
Reservation was made on Open Table and our party was sat immediately. This place was completely packed as it was prime dinner rush. The server did an amazing job managing the craziness. Our drinks were brought out very quickly and our food didn’t take more than 15 minutes to arrive. The brisket burrito is to die for, the cheese on the outside of the burrito is the perfect touch. The kids loved their meals.
What a great experience from our taste buds to the amazing staff. It was our first time visiting and found the restaurant from Open Table. Our server China was friendly, on point on her service and genuinely was a great server that attributed to our amazing experience. From the Salad, to the Chili and the Grilled Cheese, it was mouth watering and Brisket heaven. They had a great game on the TVs and great music playing. Our only "complaint" was that we wish the music was louder because it was a great playlist.
We loved this place. It use to be a chicken spot. Now its crafts by smoke and fire. Our waiter was super dope. That made everything even better. We got the ribs and brisket, along with sides. Mac n cheese, brussel sprouts, garlic potatoes. The food was super filling. BBQ always hits the spot. The inside has a nice ambience. Huge tv on the side wall to watch the major sports games and a bar in the back. We were given some fruity shots and they were suuuper bomb. All in all, this place is amazing. Keep up the great work.
Made a reservation on OpenTable for Sunday lunch and there were a lot of tables open, so probably didn't need a reservation. Our server Annie was awesome! She consistently came to provide us with water refills and was helpful in helping us decide what to order. We ended up getting the high mountain fries which were excellent, the beef brisket burrito, and the beef brisket tacos. The tacos and fries were our favorite! The meat was super juicy and flavorful. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area! Thanks again Annie for your great service and hospitality!
Met with a friend from long ago and decided to try this spot out. He quickly found sitting for us. Waiter was nice. Location was clean and had plenty of artwork to look at. We ordered food and caught up with each other. When the food came out. Wow. We had to try quite a few dishes. I had the brisket tacos. Presentation in point and coloring. He had the brisket grilled cheese and enjoyed it. At the table we also had the short rib quesadillas, mountain high loaded fries, loaded nachos, skin on potato salad. Everything tasted great. Would definitely recommend this place.
The atmosphere and food were solid, but the service definitely left something to be desired. We had a reservation for five, and when a few people from our group arrived early, they were told they couldn’t be seated until everyone was present. I understand that policy in some cases, but the restaurant wasn’t very busy, and it made them feel a bit pushed aside for no real reason. Once everyone arrived, we were seated, but it took another 10 minutes before anyone even came over to greet us. Unfortunately, that slow pace became a recurring theme throughout the night. Service just wasn’t very prompt, and things consistently took longer than they should have. That said, the atmosphere, drinks, and food helped balance things out. Those were genuinely enjoyable and ended up being the highlights of the experience. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt as it could’ve just been an off night, but smoother service would go a long way here.
Loved this restaurant! Once we got past the rude hostess, everything was great. The light and open space with large screens make perfect game day viewing. Happy hour here gets started early at 2pm! The drinks are creative and do not slack on flavor. Some of the drinks have a visual element that is best experienced at the bar. Go with a group and try everything! It will be pricey, but worth it.
Stopped in for a business lunch. It was quiet on a Friday afternoon but we had reservations to be sure. The brisket was beautifully smoky and tender. I didn't use much bbq sauce but it was tasty, not smoky but a little tangy. The service was good. She brought a free Friday shot which was a fun surprise. Haven't done a shot in years! Drinks were good. I got what was essentially a smoked old fashion. Located in a hip section of old town Pasadena, parking is available on nearby lots.
A favorite when in the mood for splendid bbq and meat. We had 6 adults ordered the family platter and there was plenty of food with leftovers too. The brisket quesadilla appetizer, sweet corn and Mac & cheese were favorite sides. The brisket, prime rib and ribs were the favorite meats. Four stars well we don't want them to get too rocky. But always highly recommended. And our server was awesome they were short staffed but you wouldn't know it she was a top performer.
The food portions were very large. I had the brisket burrito which was good but not great. Could have had more spice. They put Mac N Cheese in it (as a filler?) which did nothing for it. My son had the Loaded Potato which was huge and had plenty of brisket. My wife had coconut shrimp which was just 6 peices. But my daughter in law had the shrimp tacos which were simply super. I would recommend them. The beer selection was very weak.
Took a while for someone to take my order after several employees walked past and didn’t acknowledge me. I got brisket and Brussel Sprouts. The brisket was not as flavorful as others described, and it was dry. The sauce was okay at best. Brussel Sprouts were good, but $11.99 for the small portion I received was really outrageous. The total I paid was $34 and honestly, I’ve had better for less.
Great atmosphere, good place for game nights I assume. The server was fast and nice but he don’t seem happy. Menu has a good amount and it’s overwhelming. Food over all were a bit dry and salty. The wings were dry, the batter for the shrimp was salty and looked like older oil. The brisket in flauta was also dry. Artichoke dip Was the best, also the shrimp inside the batter was good
I like the service including management. I can't believe how bland the food was. The brisket and later the smoked chicken. No smoke flavor. Brussels for $11 were good, but very small portion.
I enjoyed the branch at the Westfield Mall in Arcadia. This new branch was awful. The open air front makes it freezing inside. $9 baked potato came lukewarm with teaspoon of sour cream thrown on top. The tri tip was overdone and not hot. Also tough. Sports bar atmosphere and loud. I won’t be back.
This place is just fine. Good food but nothing particularly special. But its a solid spot for some BBQ eats at a chill decent spot. What bothers me is how overpriced it is! It cost more than a dinner for us at Flemmings. The prices were just insane for what you are getting. Sides were 10 bucks a pop - and they were TINY little side containers. So if you wanted 2 sides with your brisket, that'll be an extra 20 bucks. I won't be going there anytime soon again.
I’m in town for a convention down the street & on the recommendation of a friend, decided to try this place. I’m going to have to remember that when my west coast friends recommend bbq, they don’t really know what they’re talking about. I got the tri-tip, thinking that “tri-tip is the California signature bbq cut - it should be good.” Reader, it was not. I’m not sure if their smoker was broken, or what, but there was no smoke flavor. It was just… wet? Not moist, but wet, like it had been steamed or dipped in water. It also didn’t come with a side, so my server (thankfully) recommended I get a side. Which I’m glad o did, bc the four slices of damp, but somehow still dry, grey meat on my plate & pickles was definitely not enough to fill me up. Which at $17 for the meat seems like a ripoff. So, I paid an additional $8(!) for the tiny cup of mac and cheese and well, at least I’m not walking away hungry. If you know anything about bbq or smoked meat, don’t go here. The beer was good and the staff is good. The TVs are all playing the World Series, so watching the rest of the patrons react to that has been fun.
The good. Cool casual sports bar with a relaxed yet upscale vibe....love the angel wings when you enter, the tasteful but offbeat original artwork, even a mural of the Lakers hidden out of view until you approach the bar ..even an original in the ladies restroom. Plenty of places for cool selfie. The grilled ribeye. 5/5 My mom asked for medium rare, and it came perfectly medium rare. It was the size of the platter, bigger than my moms head. It might have been sitting under a heat lamp, bec it was warm, not hot off the grill. But it was a steak with nice marbling and fat, so she was happy, though she noted the temp being just warm. Our server Wendy brought us complimentary nachos. This was a lovely surprise. Thank you. 5/5 for the freebie. We liked the corn, the pickles and the bbq sauce on the nachos, kitchen sink toppings, a shame the chips we ate were all stale. 3/5 The mango mocktail, with the taijin dipped on a side of the rim...nicely sour from the lemonade....it's a pretty drink, but it's served in an orange juice-type glass that doesn't impress or excite. Wish it were served in a bigger glass (and chilled) to accommodate more ice. The mocktail drinks were warm, so had to wait until until the few cubes did it's work. But mom liked her drink, so the mango mocktail put a smile on her face, she liked the flavor and that it was warmish. 4/5 The music. I personally liked having a nice long leisurely lunch with my mom...listening to her but also to some great music on a good sound system...Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Earth Wind & Fire... We were there at 1 pm to 3 pm with no checkins or refills but we weren't rushed either. 5/5 for the music and the unhurried pace. Thanks! The cons. The regular baked potato that came with the ribeye was a good size, with plenty of sour cream and chives. The iffy part was the skin, hard and tough. The potato itself was not fluffy or hot whatsoever...it wasn't cold...but just tepid. Again probably sitting under a heat lamp. The blueberry mocktail. Not a balanced drink, too sweet for my taste and again tepid in an underwhelming glass, with too few ice cubes. A warm sweet albeit pretty drink...you have to blow bubbles at the bottom in order to mix the drink, which was fun...but hard to forgive the presentati9n and the tepid temp... ugh. 1/5 Tried to order the beef rib, but was told it takes six hours and wasn't ready at 1:30 pm in the afternoon. SAD. so I was encouraged to try the bahn mi sandwich instead...wish I had listened. I wanted to try the bbq straightup. The tri tip was lean, so on the dry side. A small container of thick bbq sauce, which had a great taste but was really thick sauce.. kinda jelly gooey-like it had the plopped out of a bottle quality. Hmmmm. You get about four thick slices of tri tip along with a small clutch of dill pickle rounds...and a smallish slab of corn bread 3/5, also dry but had a nice corn flavor. It was all kinda skimpy and stingy in presentation...again for a bbq place, it just felt ungenerous. I did like the smoke on the tri tip... not overwhelmingly smoked, but subtle...ultimately though...I couldn't eat it as dry as it was, doggy bag it to doctor it up at home. 2/5 Service. We were warmly greeted by a young guy. Our server Wendy took about 15 minutes to find us and kindly answered questions ...Wendy was lovely and cheerful...but she looked to be the only server working the entire place. So allowances and we were sitting at the front of the restaurant while the 6 to 8 other diners were seated near the bar and the entrance to the kitchen. A large spacious dining area was practically empty. And only 2 people walked in during the entire time we were there. Sad on a lovely warm sunny Monday afternoon. But we had fun and just enjoyed chilling in this very comfortable open space watching football and taking selfies with the cool Lakers mural.
Made reservations for a party of 7 to celebrate my best friend's birthday. First time dining in the restaurant and was very impressed by the cool/hip atmosphere. It was full of life. We were handed menus and given time to look through their yummy cocktail drinks. But we were never informed by the waitress that a couple of the drinks were not available. Bummer! Because some of us were going to order those. The drinks we did order were pretty good. I ordered the Cast Away. It was delicious. The food menu looked tasteful. I ordered the shrimp tacos and a side or Blue Cheese Slaw. Long after the rest of my group was brought out their food, I finally received my dish. As it was placed in front of me, I noticed the corn tortillas. Sure enough, I picked up my taco, and the tortilla fell apart. I immediately felt regret for ordering it. Along with the Blue Cheese Slaw (which tasted as simple as purple Cabbage and blue cheese dressing) was blah. No flavor whatsoever. It's a shame it failed because who doesn't love shrimp tacos!
🌍 ❤️🩹 📝 📌 Greetings Googlers! (Disclaimer) (Poor) This place gets only 1 ⭐️ I typically do not write bad reviews, but sometimes I feel it is necessary. Lets start, My wife and I have visited this place twice now. The first time we came everything seemed exceptional except the fact that the sign said wait to be seated and even though the place was empty the staff ignored us until we snuck back to the bar. I got a burger and my wife got tacos. Both of us really enjoyed the food and drinks. Our second visit came today 2/14/2026 we got there at 3:45 pm. The first thing we noted was again even though it was Valentine's Day the place was only semi-full and again the shocking reminder as we saw staff going back and forth with no one actually seating people. We waited at least 10 minutes to be seated. Okay, not a big deal let’s move on. Finally seated now on a wobbly table and wobbly chairs our first impression of our waiter was he was not very good. It took quite a while for him to finally come over when he did he took our drink order and a few minutes later brought both of the incorrect drinks. Still not a big deal I am a waiter myself things happen. Next it took at least 15 minutes to get our drinks and for him to take our order. The reason we come back was to try the BBQ, I was excited. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, the food finally came. I got the brisket and my wife got the brisket tacos. My wife enjoyed her food although she found a bone 🦴 in her taco in a bad kinda way. My food was less than ordinary in every way, starting with the presentation. First not a big deal but my sides were on my wife’s plate lol. The so called bbq brisket platter just looked sad and lonely. The large tray looked empty. The so called 12 hour smoked brisket was tough and hard to chew or even cut. A very and I mean ridiculously small piece of bread or bun if you will, it actually tasted okay but was so small I laughed at the idea of serving it in this type of establishment. I got a small half full container of bbq sauce with the full half pound of brisket. My sides were Mac and cheese and waffle fries. The Mac and cheese was over cooked and incredibly chewy! The brisket, when it arrived was cold. The best part of my meal were the fries whith a half full portion of ketchup. Over all, something off with this place. The math is not mathing. We will not be returning. 👎
good service and atmosphere in the middle of old town pasadena. But the food is pretty expensive - Taco comes in at more than 15 dollars which does not include any sides. We ordered brisket and tri-tip but not much favors in it and they are tough cut. Definitely not falling apart for the brisket and borderline hard to chew for the tri-tip...
Ordered to go yesterday, was very disappointed with the food. Service was ok, atmosphere was great. Got 3 things, the wagyu burger which was ok, the brisket fries also ok. The problem was the KIDS chicken tenders. If it’s part of the kids menu why is there a pound of salt on them. Didn’t even feed my daughter that crap. Would give 0 stars if I could.
They tried to poison us with their food. We ordered the combo with pork ribs, brisket, and chicken. The chicken smelled disgustingly sour and clearly old. I tried one bite and had to spit it out immediately. The pork ribs were impossible to even cut. OLD meat that they are simply reheating. We returned everything because it honestly felt unsafe to eat. The waiter told us their chef had just resigned and the manager was cooking. What? The food was already terrible even before their chef quit, but the audacity to keep serving customers that kind of food instead of closing the restaurant and fixing the PROBLEM is unbelievable. That night they even had a big Pasadena Fire Department party there. How can you serve food like that to people? Pure greed and complete disrespect for customers. The owners should not be running a restaurant.
We were around the Pasadena area thinking of trying a new food place out and we choose this one. As soon as we checked in for our reservation it took some time for us to get seated.as soon as we got seated it took another 10-15 minutes for our server to come to our table to assist us. We ordered our food I had ordered a wagyu burger. We sat for more than 30 minutes waiting on our food to come until our server said “the kitchen was backed up that our food is on the way.” Our food ended up coming but mine and my partner food was cold it felt like our food was sitting for a while. Then they offered “free nachos on the house” which was just chips with cheese and some sauce. I really wanted to like this place but this diffidently opened my eyes to not believe reviews. Will not be returning to this spot.
Seeing this restaurant with decent reviews I thought I’d give it a go. Entering I was greeted and I looked around and the atmosphere was nice. Sitting down I noticed the tables were a bit sticky which I hate but isn’t that bad. Secondly I did notice the cups were stained with what looked like pieces of food or tajin. Upon receiving my food, not at all was the food hot. That’s when I knew the food itself would be disappointing. The brisket in the quesadilla and the potato were very unseasoned and felt it needed some flavor. Overall the food was bland with a lack of seasoning. When the food is great, I’s definitely forgive the other issues.
Very disappointed the food was absolutely horrible -the ribs were all fat, the chicken bbq chicken was cold and hard the fried also cold and hard and the kicker hard blackened cold broccolini for $17.00. Despite complaining of the chicken being cold fries cold they returned cold hard chicken they just reheated chicken instead of preparing it again and servicing it timely. By reheating the chicken it just became overcooked but it was still cold! The food was very bad overall served on cold steel trays which is likely the reason food wasn’t hot, easy overpriced $25 for fatty ribs no sides except $17 burnt broccolini. The waiter made no attempt to recognize the food was not good despite the complaints. I may be picky as I have worked in the restaurant business for several years. I guarantee this place won’t last. Or likely, only serves tourists. For people who live in Pasadena - they won’t return for bad cold food that’s well overpriced. Why do these restaurants ruin their businesses? I just don’t get it? Serve great hot food with great sides maybe throw in some few chips or bread and at the right price - your business will always thrive ..$25 fatty ribs and$17 burnt broccolini doesn’t attract customers.
