My husband and I had our 2025 NYE dinner at THO. Our experience was 100% memorable, and our dinner was outstanding!! Scallops and risotto, duck confit, followed by a nice-sized filet mignon topped with the most delicious Dungeness crab. The duck confit was so tender, and the filet mignon was perfectly cooked. And wow - the desserts were the perfect finish - so good!! Having moved from San Francisco 18 months ago and dined at the best restaurants in SF for many years incl. Michelin starred ones, I will say that THO is truly excellent. The value is also worth noting. We were surprised there were empty tables at all in the patio! The service from Jack was attentive and entertaining - great energy and care for us. Thank you Jack - we hope to see you again! Happy New Year to the excellent chefs and staff at THO - you made our NYE so enjoyable and unforgettable.
Cool restaurant and wine bar. I’ve only eaten outside of the patio. It’s very comfortable with heaters in the winter time. They have a great wine menu. Their food is delicious, too. I had the Cajun fish tacos, which to my surprise was salmon and not some sort of cod. Maggie was my server and she was super attentive and thoughtful. Check it out next time you’re hungry.
This is my second time visiting this adorable restaurant and honestly, I love it even more now. The courtyard is sooo cute! The vines, the greenery, the fountain , it’s a whole mood! It feels like a tucked-away garden you never want to leave. We came for lunch before wine tasting and had such a lovely experience. Kennedy was our server and she was great, warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. I ordered their Kale Caesar salad and it was not your typical Caesar but in the best way. It had raisins, red onion, crushed pistachios and the dressing had these subtle mustard seeds that gave it this bright, slightly tangy pop. It’s their unique take on a Caesar and I’m officially obsessed. I’m definitely going to try to replicate this at home! My boyfriend ordered the soup and sandwich, and once I tried a spoonful of the soup, I instantly ordered a cup of my own. It was the corn and shishito pepper soup, velvety, a little smoky, and had just the right kick without being overly spicy. So, so good! Their menu changes seasonally, and since they are a true farm-to-table restaurant, the best way to see what’s currently offered is to check their website. If you’re looking for a perfect lunch spot in Paso, especially before wine tasting, definitely give them a visit. It’s charming, delicious, and just feels good to be there.
Oh boy. We had a great meal. We started with the Beets and couldn’t eat them fast enough. I then had the Filet and my husband the Chile Rilleno (w/steak) and they both rocked. Will be back.
Thomas Hill Organics Paso Robles, a bistro and wine bar, offers a rotating menu showcasing locally grown, farm-fresh ingredients paired with regional wines. Making a dinner reservation is easy and highly recommended through the Yelp reservation system used for online orders before visiting this fine downtown establishment. This bistro is very popular on Friday and Saturday nights, so making a dinner reservation is highly recommended to avoid a long wait and secure a good table. Their website, ironically, omits their fantastic wine menu. Unable to view their online wine list when making a reservation, I opted to bring my own bottle of wine for a $25 corkage fee, Barton 2021 Moondance. Their wine menu, which I viewed at my table, featured excellent estate wines. Niner, Hearst, Austin Hope, and Barton Family wines were among the many wines featured on the menu. To start, I enjoyed my Barton’s wine with Crab Cakes and a citrus dressing. Herb & cheese biscuits, as a side order, were unavailable after 7PM. Be at the restaurant by 5PM to try their incredible herb & cheese biscuits. Instead, my choice was their various breads and lovely olive oils. Crab cakes and wine were enhanced by the bread and olive oil. Next, I focused on a traditional Mexican dinner dish known as Chile Nogada. This incredible meal and wine pairing exceeded my expectations. Poblano peppers filled with picadillo (peppers, onions, olives, pears, and raisins), topped with nogada sauce (walnut cream), steak and shrimp, make up this dish. The food and wine were divine, and Allie, my wonderful server, along with the other guests, hostess, bartenders, and chefs, made me feel incredibly welcome throughout my entire meal. Thank you team!
We had dinner tonight and the hostess was delightful and our server sandy was excellent. This was Memorial Day weekend so the town was slammed and yet the staff treated us attentively and with warmth. The meal exceeded expectations from the carrot soup to dessert of olive cake! My main course of salmon was perhaps the best salmon I have ever had. The dish was cooked moist and soft yet the skin had that crispy almost bacon like crunch that only salmon can deliver. The chef knocked it out of the park. My wife had the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly. The vegetables on each plate were fresh, creative and elevated the meal to fabulous. So nice when the chef provides a thoughtful and balanced plate which has flavor, beauty and both the quality and taste jump off the plate. Dinner for two was $125.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. We came here with 4 families, 16 people, and they made it seem like they were taking care of a couple. The flavors are rich, and variety great. We also had two extreme Vegans with us, who were also very happy. I ordered the Cubano, and must say, wow. A definite must try!
The steak and potatoes were amazing. Great pairing with an Austin Hope wine. Again, the potatoes were delicious. I will say my Med was bordering Med-Well, so I'd recommend the Med Rare. Either way, I still give it a 5 star. Also, tried some sea bass and butternut soup, both which were excellent.
What a wonderful experience if you're in Paso Robles. I highly recommend it. The food and the atmosphere are well worth it. I had the soup du jour with the local bread, then the mushroom risotto. Very delicious, and the serving size was enough to satisfy me. If you're staying or passing through, I'd recommend going there for date night, or by yourself. You'll have a one-of-a-kind experience and your palette will be satisfied!
What can I say.... it was wonderful. Food was EXTREMELY FRESH and service was friendly. My favorite thing I ate was the yam puree which was apart of the steak dish. Everyone in our party was happy with their dishes. The dessert is from a local bakery called Angela's-olive oil cake yummy. Coffees and tea were also excellent. Would recommend.
As a Paso Robles local, Thomas Hill is EASILY one the best restaurants in town. Jack the server has excellent wine picks & the head chef was also super friendly. Definitely bringing friends and family here when we want to show them a great restaurant with awesome service & ambiance. Everything we order is excellent - I'm a big fan of the Mushroom Toast they do🤌

Some of the best food I’ve had in a long time! Everything we ate at Thomas Organics was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We had the marinated olives, beet salad, rack of lamb, and lemon curd for dessert — every dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. Highly recommend!
We attended a wine pairing dinner (with Decemil Estate Wines) and loved it. Each course was amazing (crab cakes, honey & brie on toasted bread, salmon with farro and green beans, New York steak with roasted potatoes and asparagus, etc.). Service was perfect and the atmosphere was trendy but also welcoming). We'll be back again!

Good food, great outdoor patio seating. Overall good food. They source locally which is nice. We visited during a weekday for dinner without reservation. They were able to seat us right away. Weekend is much bussier. Relaxing environment. Overall pleasant experience.
Nice ambience. We dined on a Thursday- No Bartender on duty, even tho we were told we could come in for a pre-dinner drink. . Fish of the day was a standout. Bread service was not so interesting. Expected wine list and staff level of experience to be better than it was.
Great little place for some tasty fare! Loved the food, but felt a little neglected during the night. It went from quiet to busy, back to quiet, yet we had to wait a bit.. that being said, the food, wine, dessert were all excellent, with amazing suggestions from our server. Plus, she looked after our doggo with some cool H2O during this heat wave!

Hostess seemed rushed and was not welcoming. Crab cake was good but entrees although especially pleasing lacked flavor and weren't what I was expecting. Scallops were good but pasta lacked flavor and so did mushrooms. Steak was overcooked and the chile relleno had too much corn. Wine was good!
We heard such good things about the restaurant, we were excited to try it out. Sadly our evening fell flat. To state the good, the outdoor back patio is cozy and heated and the food WAS great. The tomato soup of the day, the crab cakes (two large ones), and the chicken dish (farro, mushroom jus, and kale) were spot on. And I never order chicken out so that’s saying a lot. HOWEVER, thing after thing came up throughout the night and just tainted the overall meal. - The service: for the duration of our meal our finished wine glasses and empty beer bottle were left on the table. - Attention to detail: we were celebrating a birthday and saw other tables with candles, etc. yet when our dessert came, nothing (and we were greeted with a ‘happy birthday’ so they were aware) - Other upset customers: one couple just got up and left because “they had sat down for 20 minutes and no one approached them”. Another requested something from the kitchen and instead of saying it wasn’t something they had or did, they just kept them waiting. While the food was good, everything else wasn’t worth the hassle. Paso has TONS of other places that will knock your socks off.
Outdoor seating was quite nice and service was friendly. I unfortunately wasn’t very impressed with the lunch fish tacos, they tasted a bit bland and it wasn’t really that much food. For the price point I was a bit disappointed.
Easy parking, located in town with a nice collection of shops & eateries. Seating is outside, the atmosphere is nice, service was good. I had the bread service, glass of Seven Oxen zinn & the veggie bowl. Taste & quality of the bread was super, the wine was good, the veggie bowl was flat, had a descent mix of vegetables but the taste was very lacking, bland, boring. Considering the price there are better options nearby with respect to food & atmosphere.

This was one of my favorite restaurants. The food is amazing, and usually solid service. I wanted to give a one star review for our last experience, but I hope that our dinner was an exception rather than a rule last Saturday. We had a 5:30 pm reservation and were told to wait in the wine bar for our table and have some wine while we waited (we arrived at 5). We sat at the bar for 30 minutes while the bar tender and servers ignored our imploring glances for at least a glass of water (it was 112 outside), and had hoped to have some wine. I have never been treated so rudely is as long as I can remember and our collective blood was boiling by the time we were seated. Add in an appetizer that came after we completed our meals, and the denial of our request for a favorite item from the lunch menu and it adds up to this: we will likely not be back, unfortunately. You can't ignore guests for 30 minutes walking in from the 112 degree heat. There are no excuses. It was appalling. Also of note, there were multiple parties in the bar area being served while we waited. So it seemed like just our party of four was being penalized for some reason. Just so incredibly unacceptable.
