Dear all customers: I’m the manager in Golden Palace. We are sorry for all the inconvenience caused to you before. Now we just got our service rectified. First of all, we guarantee that no more tip demanding would ever happen in future. The involved waitress is no longer working here anymore. We provided very detailed training for the new employees. Second, we do attach great importance to the feelings of every customer. We’ve improved the indoor environment. Now there’s no more flies and the air filter is cleaned too. It’s now pretty cool inside now. The food leaves you lasting and pleasant aftertastes. I do recommend our crispy roast chicken, mushrooms and jalapeños, tasty green beans, hot and spicy chicken and so on. In the end, please let us know if there’s anything we could do better for you. About as good as you can get in a small town buffet. Selection was good, Food competent for a cheap buffet. Staff friendly and the restaurant is very clean though old and dated. (Complete with sagging, water stained suspended ceiling). I came in at 2pm expecting to be the only one,but found it moderately busy. Chicken dishes a bit overcooked or the chicken was old, but OK. Very standard selection but had actual BLUE BELL ice cream among the dessert choices. If I pass through this town again I will most likely stop here to eat. The price in March 2023 was $11.90 for lunch buffet plus drink & tax

Not as clean as it should be. The food was not as hot as it should be, the beef and broccoli was out right cold. I went to get dessert and returning to my set the staff was walking away with my drink. I felt a little rushed at that point. I had the buffet with a sweet tea the price was more than what I was used to paying $ 18.10. Had I known the price before I sat down I would have went somewhere else 😔.

Very small buffet, only 3 rows (see pictures). 2 rows for food, and 1 for dessert. The food was cold and lacked flavor. Orange chicken did not taste like orange chicken. Not really any kids' choices, at least for my kids. As for the service, they were friendly. However, we were not offered a refill for my drink. I'm not coming back even tho I loved the cookies and cream ice cream.

Where was the positive Google review food? Ok, it was late. But, food was buffet only. Old and cold. Didn’t feel welcome. Then…15 bucks! Ouch. Hope I avoid food poisoning! Treat the customers like they are Google reviewers…. You blew it.

I pulled into Love's on 285 South & I 20 in Pecos, Texas to shut down. Did not want truck stop food. Walked 1.7 Miles to Golden Palace on 285 and to get some exercise in as well. The place was busy at 5:45 PM local time. This is a family operation as there was a small child running about in pajamas with protruding pacifier. Do not take your date to this place if you seek decor! Minimum items on the buffet and NOTHING is labeled! If you have allergies, you best ask what the items are. I had the egg drop soup which was not overly corn starched to death, but too much white pepper. The food on the buffet was edible but not authentic Chinese. As I got up to return to the buffet, the elderly lady, helping out cleared off my table, removing my lemonade and I wasn't finished yet! They offered apologies. The Lomein was terrible, but the fried rice was good. A bit pricey too.

I should have turned around when I pulled into parking lot at the site and condition of exterior but I didn't. Employees all looked miserable and never saw a smile. Food had been out too long and several items were not at safe serving temperature. May have been good at one time but not now. Entire place is dirty and in disrepair. Employee did not want to accept American Express and was not nice about it at all. She actually told me to bring different card next time... LOL! Next time? Not a chance there will be a next time!

It’s just flat out bad. The chicken and beef both have a funky taste even drenched in sauce. Not many options, best thing is the egg rolls.

My husband and his co worker went to eat lunch here....Food was Cold and tasted horrible and 32 $ for 2 people. Only thing that tasted good was the garlic bread and egg rolls...my husband doesn't even like egg rolls. Wouldn't waste time or money. They said they won't be back!

The food was delicious, but then I went to the restroom, and this is what I saw. Made wonder what the kitchen looked like. This is disgusting! Hard to believe the health department would even allow a restaurant to operate in this condition.
