If you want a great sandwich you got to go there. I've tried the Corn Beef Sandwich, Wow, it was so good. Tried the Club Awesome and the French dip the au jus it's so good you can drink it. It's a cute quaint little old Deli and Bar the bars tiny cute as heck, got to try, in Petaluma and the service is very friendly. Good people.

Ray's is a quaint, friendly, comfortable tavern that shares a deli next door with gourmet sandwiches. They have an excellent beer line-up that any large restaurant would be proud to advertise. I like their dog friendly environment as well. If in Petaluma and enjoy great beer you should consider this little hideaway for refreshments and lunch.

Ray's is the real deal when it comes to great sandwiches! High quality ingredients and generous portions. And when you want it hot, it comes out of oven, not a microwave. No lover of bread or cheese would ever subject them to a microwave, and Ray's won't either. Get the Rachel, my longstanding favorite, and get your sandwich on!

The food is always good. It is a small place and it was busy, so it took a while to get our food. Avoid going in at lunch, go in before noon or after 1:30 to get food faster.

Always a winning combo when you can get a great Sando at a decent bar top with quality on taps. Fairly affordable, super cozy, and the deli is always filled with life. The people who work here seem to really enjoy their jobs.

We keep going back for the Keokuk sandwich. Turkey, Bacon, Roasted Red Pepper, Provolone & Pepper Jack Cheese, Sundried Tomato, Pepperoncinnis, Fresh Basil, Hint of Cayenne, Pesto Mayo & Spinach Served on a Toasted Ray's Roll. It is so good!

Had a 45 min wait was totally worth it. Loved the vegetarian sandwiches especially the Dimitri special and got some beer to enjoy while waiting. Nice outdoor seating.

I consider myself very lucky if I get the chance to come to Ray's. The pastrami Rueben on rye brings tears of joy. The meat is carved just right each bite is too tender! The crisp of the bread and the crunch of the sauerkraut match the warmth of the cashiers and style of the chefs, respectively. There are plenty of other choices for sandwiches, but pastrami Ruben from Ray's- I choose you always! Until we meet again...

Been in SoCo for over 10 years, first time going here. Amazing sandwiches! Very friendly staff. It's in the middle of a residential area which gives it a unique vibe, almost like a bodega. But Petaluma has a unique vibe in general so it just fits. I wish I lived closer cuz I would make my way through the whole list of sandwiches having one every day, but that would get expensive. In any case, this place is in my top 3 Sonoma County sandwich spots. Go!

One of the best delis in all of Sonoma. Try the Keokuk...so delicious. The Reuben is a classic and they make it perfect. My wife and I have been going there for 20 years...and we live in San Francisco! Our favorite post Chileno Valley bike ride lunch! The bar serves a great selection of beer, wine and full selection of spirits. All of the folks are super welcoming and fun! Thank you Ray's!

There's a lot of charm at Ray's - the deli's sandwiches are delicious, service is stellar and unpretentious, the live music is intimate and fun. But one of the best features at Ray's is the best bar tender in town, Mr. Tim Bush. If you've had the pleasure of Tim serving you, you know this is no lie. If anything, you may want to go just to have a sip and conversation with the guy. You won't regret it.

Amazing sandwiches!! I placed a large order (about 15 sandwiches) for a family reunion I was having, and everyone LOVED their sandwiches! We all got something different, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating! I would say the price is pretty good for how amazing the food is. Can't wait to go back and try something new!

Walked in for lunch and they warned us it would be a long wait, which I appreciated knowing. We got our delicious draft beers quickly though. Outdoor seating was nice and spaced far enough that I felt safe. The sandwiches were delicious when they arrived. Worth the wait, and the staff was helpful and friendly. People were wearing masks indoors in the deli side, which I appreciated because my kids are too young to be vaccinated yet.

I've been going to this place for years and always forget to take a picture of the sandwich. It's too good to slow down and take a picture of! I get the Keokuk Sandwich and it is always amazing! Seriously one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life, and I'm 65 so that's a lot of sandwiches. Not only was the combination of flavors amazing, but each ingredient was delicious from the thinly sliced fresh turkey to the perfectly cooked bacon and fabulous pesto sauce. I had the Keokuk and highly recommend it. The rolls are great too - not just regular bread, some special recipe that's divine. If you've been here, you know what I'm talking about! If you haven't, treat yourself to a killer sandwich sometime. Ray's has such an unassuming presence (on an out of the way street with a humble exterior) that I almost keep driving . . . but so glad I stopped. This is the kind of sandwich where you look like a crazy person because you mutter to yourself about how frickin' good it is between every bite. YUM!

I'm pleasantly surprised with this spot. Soft and tasty house made loaves. Chips and drinks if you're taking it to-go. They also have bar seating with a great selection of taps in the back if you're sticking around. Good food, good beer, good service, good location. Good job Ray's, keep it up.

I forgot about this gem so I went in and got a sandwich and oh my goodness!! It was delicious!!!! the bread was amazing I had to mention it because I think that's what sets this place apart from every other deli (in my opinion) good customer service very friendly and you can take it to go or enjoy your food outside on the benches. I absolutely love this place. It's a fixture in the neighborhood and the sandwiches are phenomenal. One side is a bar with food craft beer in draft and the other is a deli. You can even order sandwiches from the bar. They do get quite busy at times so be prepared to wait. It's quite worth it though.

A Bar and a sandwich counter with an old-time petaluma feel. Very popular with locals. We shared a very tasty roasted turkey club. People at the sandwich counter were quite pleasant. We sat indoors, but there was outdoor seating.

My partner and I were in the area. He had gone to high school here and wanted to take me to try Ray's for a while. The staff was welcoming and the options on the menu were diverse. I got the Turkey Avocado Special and it was absolutely delicious - for sure one of the best sandwiches I've had and I don't really eat turkey in sandwiches that often either. Parking was manageable considering it was peak lunch time.

We have visited this historical neighborhood gem off and on for many years. Rays was first a corner grocery store when we would stop in after school for a snack, for the walk home in the early 70's. Since 2011, stopping in to grab freshly made Deli Sandwiches during the work week. Be sure to say hello to Dimitri behind the Deli case, there is a wonderful Sandwich named after him. Rays Tavern also has a wonderful bar spot where Bartender Tim, can serve you a cold brew. We are now Retired, and excited about the new neighborhood b. Floral * Fresh Bouquets * Home Design* and Gift shop, opening next door this Friday. We have picked up sandwiches lately at Rays and enjoyed the ample outdoor seating. We decided to make Rays Tavern our Sunday or Monday Lunch spot from now on. Great Menu and Service right up the street.

Really delicious and unusual sandwiches, freshly made with homemade bread and condiments. I only gave it four stars because we were there in the winter, the interior was packed and we had to sit outside. All the tables and chairs were wet. Maybe the staff could have dried them off or provided towels? I noticed most customers did takeout.

The sandwiches we ordered were delicious. Unfortunately it took a half an hour to get our order. The beet salad was excellent too.

Colleges can't communicate with eachother when sandwiches are done. Came in told the name of my order. Had to wait, totally fine. At one point the guy behind the counter says, the other guy is working on your sandwich now. Ended up waiting 20 mins. When I asked about it the girl behind the counter, made me feel like it was my fault, that I was waiting extra long for my sandwich. Do I have to crawl behind the counter myself and grab it?

The sandwiches are good. No grill for Reuben etc and that's how I like those kind of sandwiches -so if you dont mind toasted instead then this place should make you happy.

It's nice and prices are impressive. The prices are just perfect or even cheap but my one concern is service. I once tried closing the door but it was really rough and I got yelled by at someone for not closing it right. Also there are a ton of old people going there and yelling and giving weird looks to people. Besides that food is actually amazing.

One of the better sandwiches in town (along with Mr Pickles and Lucchesi) HOWEVER, they are the slowest place in town. You can get a multi-course dinner downtown in the time it takes these people to make two sandwiches. We mostly stopped eating here because the wait time is just beyond stupid.

Food is really good but there wait time is ridiculous. They waited 40 minutes to tell me they couldn’t make my sandwich right and then proceeded to wait 20+ minutes till I could get my food. It doesn’t take over an hour to make ONE sandwich.

Ordered online for order to be done by 12:30. It’s 12:40 and am still waiting. Even ordered more than an hour in advance. Counter lady yelled at me when I asked when they would be ready. What ever happened to customer service with a smile? I know they were short staffed but when an order is placed more than an hour before it’s pick up time to be on the counter at 12:30 it should be on the counter at 12:30. Folks that had ordered 45 minutes prior to my pick up time were getting their sandwiches as I sat watching them eat. In all close to 2 hrs to get 3 sandwiches. And the sandwiches were just average, also 1 sandwich was not made to the order request.

My first visit to this establishment was a bit underwhelming. I ordered the roasted beet salad, but I found that the beets tasted canned, and the cheese didn’t seem very fresh. Overall, I was disappointed with the salad.

We came here because of the good reviews but we were soon to regret it. We ordered and sat down at a table outside. I watched two cars of people unload, come in, and order. They all got there sandwiches before we did. We waited 30 minutes for two small vegetarian sandwiches that cost $10 a piece. For the price the sandwiches should have been way bigger. For the wait and poor customer service it was a terrible experience. Worst deli I have been too in years.
