Finally made it to Estia after wanting to visit for the longest time, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. We went for Valentine’s Day and everything was exceptional from start to finish. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. Drinks were just as impressive and perfectly crafted. You can tell they truly care about quality and the overall experience. Definitely worth the wait. Highly recommended — we’ll be back.
My friends and I came here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The lobster linguine is a MUST, I’m still thinking about it. The service was amazing, everyone was so kind and attentive, and the place itself is so cute and intimate. Also, the bathroom is literally the perfect spot for pics 😂 Can’t wait to come back. 10/10 recommend.
We had an amazing experience at Estia in Philadelphia. The food was absolutely delicious, and the halibut was hands down the best I have ever had—perfectly prepared, flavorful, and unforgettable. Every detail of the meal reflected exceptional quality and care. Philip, our waiter, was great—attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The overall experience was wonderful, and it left us excited to return. We are definitely looking forward to visiting and trying Estia’s other locations. Highly recommend!
What a great setting for a large private business association party (130 people)! Lots of room to mingle, enjoy the self-serve delicious Meat and Greek Cheese Platter, Vegetable Crudité platter, and Estia chips, along with the fabulous shrimp, lamb and other hors d’oeuvres brought by the lovely wait staff. Plenty of bar choices, too. Good lighting, ambience was just right so you could see everyone, meet new people, connect with peers, and check out the vendor high tops and small tables. I intend to go for dinner one day and truly enjoy a full meal, this was a sampler at a party after all.
Great server Gavin, I believe his name was, and the food was great as well. He did an awesome job on letting us know about the menu and our options to ensure we had a great experience. I wind up getting the fish of the day, which could be scary, but it wasn't and it was fulfilling and awesome and he let me know if the taste and texture. We all 3 decided to do the Fixe Menu and get a lot of options. My friends weren't a fan of their walnut cake because it was soft from the sweet drizzles, but I absolutely loved my sorbet. I also, appreciated the fact that our server introduced the menu to us and to other tables in the same fashion. Nothing hidden. No surprises on items or specialties. The way customer service should be. I'll be back for sure.
Five stars for service, food quality and presentation in a cozy atmosphere. Clean well decorated, bathrooms are clean with nice places for pics! We highly recommend.
Wow! 10/10. Our server was friendly and offered us great recommendations. We got the Estia chips, spreads, and oysters all of which were amazing. The lobster linguine was delicious and don’t skip the baklava!
Show at Academy of Music ended earlier than we expected on Sunday afternoon, but plenty of room to take us almost an hour earlier than our reservation. It was very quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Very nice atmosphere with a great waiter (Cory). Food was more than amazing. Charred octopus and grilled sardines were great. The halibut was so moist. Desserts were phenomenal.
The estia chips, tartare, and salad were incredible. I’d skip the spanakopita. Amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Love this place. Great to stop by before a show, so close by!
We came on a Saturday after a show- no reservation, it was late so we sat at the bar for dinner with drinks. The bartenders were great, professional, friendly. The food was amazing! Not cheap, but worth it for a treat or special occasion. We’ll definitely return!
Came here yesterday with my sister for both of our first times before heading to see the symphony. I’m so glad we came. We did not have a reservation but thankfully we’re still seated right away. Our server was a very nice older gentleman who explained the menu and gave us a very nice dining experience with no pressure to hurry and eat, so the vibe was very relaxing. The restaurant is beautiful and right near the theatre. Food and drink was fantastic. They were very accommodating of my sisters dairy intolerance and made great recommendations. The chicken was roasted perfectly with a crispy crust and she reported her lamb chops were fantastic. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely family dinner at Estia, and everything was absolutely delicious! The food was fresh and beautifully presented, the service was attentive and warm, and the atmosphere made us feel like we were transported straight to the Mediterranean. My fiancé is Greek, and he said it reminded him of home which says a lot! Highly recommend for a cozy, elegant night out with family or friends.
Great food, the lamb shank and all the appetizers we had were delicious, but the Greek cheesecake was amazing! Shout out to the legend Saki
Great atmosphere, service and the food speaks for itself. Felt like I was enjoying a meal back in the motherland 🇬🇷
Estia is a testament to the phrase, “You get what you pay for.” The food is excellent and the service is everything you would want from a fine dining experience. The server was knowledgeable about menu choices, professional, and friendly. I enjoy the ambience in terms of the decor that’s reminiscent of a Greek taverna. Even the restroom decor is part of the experience that transports you to Greece. I highly recommend Estia for a fine dining experience! It’s also convenient as a dining option to accompany your theater experience. I recommend making a reservation in advance.
The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a touch of Mediterranean elegance. The jumbo prawns were perfectly grilled, tender, and full of flavor. The Dover sole was delicate and buttery, showcasing the freshness of the seafood. The moussaka was rich and comforting, with a well-balanced blend of eggplant, spiced meat, and creamy béchamel. Excellent service and a well-curated wine list make Estia a top choice for authentic Greek cuisine in Philadelphia.
Greek at it's best. Mousaka was delicious as was the spanakopita and baklava. Great atmosphere and waitress. Thanks Betty. The only dowside was the draftyness on a sub-freezing night. Would definitely go again. Total cost was about 55$ pp.
Estia was authentic Greek Cuisine. I went for my boyfriends birthday and it was such an amazing space. The waiter was fun, very knowledgeable and made great suggestions. The food was fresh and hot. Drinks were amazing! I highly recommend coming to this place. It is in my top 10 restaurants in Philly!
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this restaurant - it exceeded my expectations! Located in the heart of center city, the restaurant boasts a spacious interior with a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it perfect for families, couples, or friends. The menu features classic Greek dishes, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. The saganaki appetizer was a delightful start, and the moussaka entree was incredibly flavorful. The service was excellent - the staff were attentive and perfectly timed with their service. I will definitely be returning whenever I'm in the mood for Greek cuisine in the city. Oh, and don't forget to check out the spacious and beautiful bathroom too!
AMAZING. The tomato sauce in the pasta was delicious. This was probably the best cheesecake and baklava we’ve ever had. The chicken was perfection, flavorful with a crispy outside. The dips were amazing. Everything was simply delicious. The atmosphere was romantic. Will return!
Sat at the bar. Service was excellent. Food was very good.
This was our seventh or eighth time at Estia and it’s become our favorite place in the city for dinner out. We’re always able to get a reservation a couple days out as it’s a very large place. Service is always excellent. And the food is amazing! Moussaka, octopus, and baclava theater meme is my go to. My wife chooses the lamb, Greek salad, and walnut cake, which is always also great. We’ve brought people here for business dinners and brought family from out of town - everyone always loves it. I don’t think my photos do this place or its food justice - it was all excellent.
This establishment is located near city hall in downtown Philly. It offers a great atmosphere and ambience, but more importantly, the Greek cuisine served here is terrific. It provides a pre-set option of three course meal at a set price. Entrees presentation was excellent, and tastes superb. Waiting staff was friendly and explained specials of the day. Portions were generous, and orders came out at a good pace. So whether you're in town for a play/show, or simply visiting the attraction, Estia would be a good place to sample fine Greek cuisine.
Loved the variety of the dishes we received, the lamb chops were literally the best I've had so far and I've had lamb chops from many different places. Very little game flavor and very tender!
The place is pretty good size, but reservations are recommended. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Started with flat bread, tzatziki, and the red pepper sauce. Both were really good. Flat bread was hot. We had bread with humus. Very creamy and flavorful, not anything like you buy in store. We had sea bass and salmon. Both were really good. Cooked very well and really nice flavors. We ended with the cheese cake and baklava. Cheesecake was very creamy and great flavor. Baklava taisted like an apple compote, very good. Highly recommend the place. It is a little pricey but I think it is worth it for the quality of food.
Atmosphere: Estia has a very fine dining yet rustic ambiance. When dining at night, there is dimmed lighting that highlights the rich colors that make up their decor. Service: Service was really thoughtful and fast. They gave us great recommendations on what to order and move our seats to accommodate our party. Food: I ordered from the Theatre Menu and got the Octopodi appetizer which came with capers and a red wine vinaigrette which made it a refreshing way to start my meal. For the entree, I got Lamb Trahana Shank which was super light yet filling! Lastly, finished with the delicious Salted Caramel Baklava and Honey Walnut Cake. Tips: Our waiter told us ordering from the Theatre Menu gets you a better value - it comes with an appetizer, entree, and dessert options you can choose from!
One of my favorite restaurants I go to in the city. The quality of the food is amazing and the staff is just great. They are so hospitable, especially this one Greek man that was taking care of me during my birthday. I highly recommend! Great for groups and reservations are quite easy. Not sure how it'll be without a reservation. Definitely try their espresso martini! Food/Drinks: All amazing! I would recommend doing their sample menu if you want to try a bit of everything. However, you'd have to be hungry because it's a ton of food. I had their lobster pasta, roasted chicken, and lamb chops, and they were all delicious. True to the $$$. Ambience: Amazing! Makes you feel like you're in Greece, haha. Great for groups. Can bring a date as well but it's a bit loud. Rating: 9/10 Pros: Lamb chops Cons: In middle of city so street parking might be tough. Lot parking available, but can be expensive
Enjoyed our dinner here at Estia. Appetizer must order tuna & salmon tarter, we were blown away. Grilled fish and steak were both cooked perfectly. We will be back!
Estia has a warm Mediterranean atmosphere, as you would expect. I was there for a vendor dinner during a conference, so I we were seated in a private room in the lower level. I appreciated the accessibility provided by an elevator. The space was comfortable, although slightly small for our group, which lead to very high noise. Talking was quite difficult without shouting. The food was quite good. We enjoyed savory appetizers and fresh, delicate salads and antipasto, followed by the main course, which for me was sea bass. I didn’t anticipate it would be the entire fish, although I was grateful that the head was upside down, and the eyes were removed. It was fresh and tasty, although you did need to be alert for a few little bones. The dessert baklava was good but difficult to eat without a knife, as the phyllo layers were not easily cut with just a fork.
My wife and I loved the decor of this restaurant. (and that's what attracted us) And their food did not disappoint us. (our food restrictions were honored) While we dined in Estia, we noticed wedding receptions taking place. (reminding us of our wedding reception) We enjoyed ourselves and we'd recommend our family and friends to dine here too. The next time we're in town, we'll surely stop by again.
Brought us back to Greece! Saki took great care of us; he had the best recommendations! By far, our favorite pita in the US, and everything was seasoned to perfection! Looking forward to coming back!
Came here for my birthday dinner last night and it was one of our most enjoyable dining experiences ever! The service was impeccable, our server Robin was fantastic as well as the server assistants. I had a rosemary martini which was excellent, we also had the cheese appetizer which was flambéed tableside which was fun and delicious. My husband had the Chilean sea bass which he loved and I had the pre theatre menu with the fish of the day which was great. Even the salted caramel baklava was delicious. I also loved the decor and atmosphere- we were seated at a small two top which at first I thought was cramped but it ended up being a very cozy table. All in all it was an excellent meal and I can’t wait to go back.
Love the food and service! Saki was our server and he was attentive and detailed. I love how friendly he is and helpful with menu and giving us suggestions. He made our night. We ordered a variety of dishes and each one was made perfectly! The restaurant was nice to let us seated 15 minutes before closing time as we just finished convention and this place was totally worth coming after a long weekend of work.
Estia never misses! It’s Great Greek food, super fresh fish, and an easy, comfortable vibe. Perfect for a nice dinner without feeling stuffy. Easily one of my favorite spots in Naples highly recommend
Honestly a PERFECT restaurant. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary as it was a recommendation of a friend. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. The waitress we had was very knowledgable about the menu and offered great recommendations!
Estia continues to be one of the best dining experiences in the city. We started with the spanakopita (perfectly crisp and flavorful), the duo tuna + salmon tartare, and the octopodi, which was tender, beautifully charred, and cooked exactly right. For mains, the whole main lobster and Dover sole were incredibly fresh and simply prepared, letting the quality shine. The lamb chops, though, absolutely stole the show. Hands down the best lamb chops in the city. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked flawlessly. Don’t sleep on the roasted potatoes either, they’re addictive. The GM, Clark, also insisted we try the Moussaka and sent a plate out for us to try. It was rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced, with layers of tender eggplant and savory meat that felt both hearty and refined. Desserts were just as strong: baklava, budino, and the Greek cheesecake were all excellent and a perfect way to end the meal. Impeccable service and consistently outstanding food. Estia never misses.
Food is consistently excellent; the bread alone is worth the visit, and the drinks are always perfect. We first came during restaurant week and enjoyed it so much that we returned twice after restaurant week ended, which says everything. The atmosphere, food, and service are always top-tier. It’s consistently busy, yet never feels chaotic, and the staff is attentive and professional, although a little slow sometimes. I’ve been here three times in two weeks and have enjoyed every visit.
Excellent dinner and Server. Saki was so passionate about the menu and offered the best suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed the grilled octopus and dips for our appetizers. The Shrimp and swordfish Souvlaki was amazing. The Dover Sole was perfectly presented and prepared. Last, but not least, we loved the Baklava and cheesecake for dessert!
The food was exquisite. Prix fixe menu highly recommended. We tried the whole thing, no clangers. The baklava was HUGE, so if that is more than people can handle they should get the sorbet. Service was courteous & attentive, but didn’t linger, a refreshing change from the usual clingy chatty demeanor one expects in upscale restaurants these days. Thanks Gavin! Because we were a large group we were in our own little room, which was a cool sort of atmosphere, like being in an ancient cellar
Great place for a business meal! The pricing was very fair and the food was delicious! The portion of the rice with the salmon was a bit small, but conversely the salmon slab was massive and the capers were cooked to perfection. The downstairs business area has very limited WiFi & cell service, so make sure to download anything you need prior to going down. Service was very fast and very personable!
Great dinner spot before heading next door for the ballet! Lighting was beautiful, staff was helpful and the food was all good.
I would give the atmosphere of Estia an 11/10. So beautiful and you can see the fresh fish on display which was a nice touch. Most of the food was delicious. The Horiatiki salad, cheese saganki and the salted caramel baklava were PHENOMENAL ! I was pretty disappointed in the lamb chops though. The menu advertised them as three day marinated chops and they were very tough to chew and really had no flavor whatsoever. Next time I come I would definitely order a fish entree instead. Everything else though, including the service was great!
I went to Estia before the Ballet and used their theater menu. I was able to get with that menu an appetizer, entree, and dessert for a set price. I got the spread as my appetizer, it had a good amount of pita and spread. Not to mention I loved the different spreads. Each one was unique and tasted delicious. For my entree I had the Lamb Trahana which was tasty, but I did have two bones. Last but not least, I had the baklava for dessert which was absolutely amazing. The best dessert I’ve had in a long time. I would go back just for the baklava. The atmosphere was nice, a little dark, but cozy and the service was nice! Would go back again!
Lovely place, OK food. Like Trader Joe's spanakopita better. The swordfish dish was busy & detracted from the fish. Maybe a popular Greek recipe, but not for me.
It is a fine establishment to be sure. The service was great and friendly. The hummus was a great starter. I liked the food a lot. The lobster pasta dish was excellent. The only reason that this gets four stars instead of five was the fish. I found it to really be nothing special. I was pretty disappointed by it especially when compared to the rest of the place. Nevertheless, it is definitely worth visiting. Thanks for the meal!!
Attended a dinner at Estia. The restaurant is well appointed and the acoustics and lighting were just right. The restaurant has a display of fresh seafood that the orders are selected and prepared from. I ordered a main dish of seabass that was delicious. The fish was so tender it flaked easily and the dish itself was very tasty. This would be a good restaurant for small gatherings or large parties.
Came here after glowing reviews. About a 50/50 combination of hit and miss. Sardines were excellent, while grilled gulf shrimp felt a bit lacking. The lamb shank was pretty underwhelming on the flavor, and a bit dry. The Papoutsakia (eggplant) however was excellent. The sorbet was also top notch. Service was fine, nothing to really complain about.
I have never in my life taken the time to write anything less than a 5-star review. The food and ambiance here was absolutely amazing. However, I have never had such a negative service experience in my life. The server seemed to be in a rush and would come over every 5 minutes pressuring my friend and I to order even though we repeatedly asked for more time. She seemed to be very unhappy about this and made a snide remark about us taking our time. After that, she had a very passive aggressive attitude for the rest of our dinner. I would love to come back because the food was truly great; however, the service I experienced is a major deterrent and really left a bad taste in my mouth.
We held our work holiday party in Banquet Room 2. The room itself was lovely—great atmosphere and a very nice setup for a large group. The food was decent, though the portions for the first and second courses were surprisingly small for family-style service. Unfortunately, the service was remarkably poor. It was clear they didn’t have the staff or bandwidth to properly handle a group of our size. I would recommend avoiding this venue for large events unless they significantly improve their service capacity.
My husband and I went there for Pre-Fixed menus yesterday - my main was Moussaka and for desert - walnut cake. That was my last meal of the day around 6 pm. In the middle of the night I woke up with food poisoning (have not had one of those in many years). I usually never write reviews but felt like I needed to let people know so they can be aware of potential issues with this place.
