Excellent experience at Cacara Restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Service was impeccable and extremely attentive. Ambience is absolutely gorgeous with high ceilings and great decoration. Food was very delicious with high quality ingredients.
Randomly popped in at the bar during Happy Hour and SO GLAD we did. Excellent Happy Hour selection with great deals on wine and cocktails. Highly recommend the Painted Desert cocktail and Ancho Chili Braised Beef Tacos!
Carcara was incredible! From start to finish, the food, ambiance, and service were top-tier. Alfredo took such amazing care of us.. warm, attentive, and truly elevated the entire experience. Every dish was delicious, and I’m still thinking about that Aperol Spritz… perfection. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back!
What a perfect spot for a midweek work lunch! The ambiance was beautiful, spacious, welcoming, and matched by excellent service and food. Our server, Allen, was so kind and attentive, offering appetizer and entrée recommendations that were both delicious and beautifully presented (we devoured them too quickly for photos!). The guacamole and buffalo cauliflower were standouts, and the power bowl was not only hearty and filling but also packed with wholesome, flavorful ingredients. Managers Joe and Arthur even stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything, which made the experience feel extra special. The drink menu looked fantastic as well. We skipped cocktails this time, but it gives us the perfect excuse to come back soon
My friends and I enjoyed dinner and a paint and sip event at this beautiful spot! The staff was so friendly, the service was fast and amazing and the overall atmosphere and vibe was very clean and aesthetic. The food was amazing as well!
We discovered Carcara when we were looking for a Christmas meal that was not pre planned, over priced and food I couldn’t even eat. Carcara had lots of delicious options for me and it was a lovely meal. My Dad passed away last year on Christmas Eve, so we were sad but very comforted by the wonderful staff, food and atmosphere. We will be back.
I had a great experience at this restaurant! Conveniently located inside the hotel, it’s the perfect spot for a quick bite or a full meal. We only stopped by for a snack, but everything was fantastic. The bread was served warm and was absolutely delicious, a perfect blend of sweet and savory with the butter, and the pork belly was fork-tender and packed with flavor. Our server, Agnes, was incredibly attentive and kind, making the whole experience even better. The dishes were also easy to share, which was a big plus. I definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for tasty food and excellent service.
A vibe on its own. The aesthetics, food, presentations, water, cleanliness, atmosphere… so many GREAT things about this place. Below I’ve added photos of my order. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I have zero complaints. My order: Buffalo cauliflower well done + beef tacos. I hope this review is the one you’ve been looking for. GO!!! You won’t be disappointed.
Nice spot in the Sheraton (higher end menu, but casual environment). The food was mildly pricey, but it was very well executed and service was friendly and on the ball. Started with the hummus. It had a nice zing of heat and a pronounced citrus flavor w/o being too strong. I loved the halibut (perfectly seared and simply tasted). And I didn’t know I liked chard till now. The star was definitely the short rib. It was freakishly tender and was served with tagliatelle w/ mushrooms and pearl onions. The sauce was tasty with just a touch of sweetness. It’s a great option for an upscale meal in an easy-going setting.
The food was amazing! We enjoyed the great service and the vibe. The waitress Janet was super friendly and thoughtful. We were lucky to have her and thank you for her care and service. Overall waiting time was shorter than I expected. The dessert was great too. My favorite was actually the house salad. The rib was good too! We will definitely come back again.
It’s been a little while since the food at a restaurant has been excellent and Carrara is the first in 2025 to leave me speechless. The bone in rib-eye pork was succulent warm and paired nicely with the chorizo baked beans. Their cobb salad was a nice accompaniment to this meal. Because of its richness would encourage the restaurant to offer the pork with a tiny side salad just for freshness.
Nice spot with seasonal menue. Food was well seasoned and the staff was super friendly. Check them out if your in downtown Phoenix
The Easter Experience was amazing, beautifully decorated, and very tasty. All the food was fresh, tasted delicious, and well the desserts were over the top. Loved how there was a kid section for food and kids were fairly priced as well. There was unlimited mimosas, coffee and orange juice too! In addition the experience had face painting, family photos, and self portrait cartoon drawings which was a nice touch. Definitely will need to come back for brunch again. Lastly the service was over the top and many helpful servers. Thanks for making Easter meal memorable and delicious.
I had such a beautiful experience here! The ambience was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing brunch. The food was absolutely amazing — flavorful and delicious. Our waiter, Aedin, was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, which made my birthday celebration feel even more special. I also appreciated that the manager took the time to walk around and check in with guests, ensuring that everyone was having a great time. I would definitely recommend this establishment and can’t wait to return!
We had passed this restaurant on several occasions and finely got a chance to dine there. Loved the ambiance. The service and the food were absolutely phenomenal. Our server was so sweet. She went above and beyond to make our special dinner even more special. We sat under the tree which was a cool vibe. They have lots of gluten free options. And our sever made extra sure to let us know what could be made gluten free .
Really good food and atmosphere. Burger and shrimp were good and glad they were able to smoke the old fashions as well. Update: came here again a year later and the service is very slow. Don’t expect to be in and out quickly. Buffalo cauliflower bites were incredible and also the ribeye. Food is great. Service is just not the best.
I visited on a Monday evening. We were directed to a table right away without reservation. The staff was friendly and attentive. The guacamole was very nice and creamy. I loved my lentil pasta dish. My husband like his steak, our friends had short ribs. We had chocolate cake for dessert. I liked the fact that wasn’t overly sweet. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice restaurant for a date or a nice dinner with the other half or friends. It’s part of the Sheraton hotel.
What an amazing experience. I didn't grow up fancy or modern, quite poor, so elements that are pretty fancy turn me the other way. This place, though, was a little fancy with the culture and the way they treat you, but all in all, the people from customers to staff are normal people who don't judge. I loved the food from my sorona salad to my chicken with risotto and carrots to my dessert of orange flan. By the way, I totally recommend it if you love citrus. I was gonna do carrot cake, but there is more with the orange flan. All in all I enjoyed the experience, the food was yummy and my bill without tip was 83 dollars see photos to see what was ordered and this place is for all and not the fancy of the fancy. BTW Janice, thanks so much for you.
Excellent place for finer dining in Phoenix! Big open restaurant with beautiful decor. The food was delicious! The pork belly appetizer was absolutely outstanding! Staff were professional and polite and service was prompt. They offer mocktails which was a nice touch. We will definitely return next time we're in town!
5 out of 5, highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered 2 items from the happy hour apps, the loaded guac and the ceviche were loaded with flavor and spice. For our entrees we had the halibut and the pappardelle, and a side of the risotto. All were extremely flavorful, but the pappardelle was the hit. Thank you for a great dinner.
I recently took a friend to Cacara for her birthday, and it was a fantastic experience! We shared the Batter Up Brunch Board with a side of eggs, and every bite was absolutely delicious. The interior design was chic and very welcoming. The customer service was good. The waitress was attentive and friendly throughout. I highly recommend Cacara for a memorable brunch experience.
We were initially drawn in by the decor and atmosphere. The outdoor space is so inviting and trendy! When we learned that the restaurant had only been open for 11 days, I was a little skeptical about what to expect from service and food. But it FAR exceeded expectations. Delicious drinks, amazing entrees and dessert, and great service (dawn was amazing). The scallops were perfect and combined flavors I never would have considered. Overall it was a great evening and will definitely be recommending it to others!
Super happy with my experience at Carcara today for brunch. Beautiful atmosphere, food and drinks were great, parking on the street was super easy. Just knocking one point on service because there wasn’t anyone at the host stand when I arrived and it was a little awkward but in fairly short order, I was seated and the rest of the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this spot!
The food experience was great!! We didn't see much of a selection for food, but what they had all looked amazing. Presentation of the food was awesome! It was a nice little place inside the Sheraton..Service was a little slow. It took about 20-30 min minutes to get our drinks. Took a long while to get out our food and everything else, but it was worth it. Recommend staying here and trying this place out.
We had a wonderful evening at Carcara to celebrate my birthday. The service was impeccable. There were several managers there and a lot of new staff being trained, so definitely a lot of growth since their opening. The ambience was great. Even though it was the middle of summer, the outdoor area was very cool and pleasant. We really enjoyed the live music and wish he could have played past 7. We felt very welcomed and taken care of. The restaurant is right next to the Herberger, so it would be a great place to dine before a play. What a nice, elegant addition to the downtown Phoenix!
The food is delicious! There was no space to get a table, so I had to order go except the strawberry salad. Harvest bowl is great too. Service is wonderful. There is an outdoor lounge with fire pits - cozy night out.
Came here with some friends for brunch on a Saturday & Javier took care of us. Javier was amazing and just the right amount of tentativeness! The food was delicious, you HAVE to get the Jalapeño Biscuits & gravy. The drinks were delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back! I recommend for Brunch spot!
Ate here three times over my 4 day stay. First was lunch - had the brunch tacos. So very delicious. The lime and cilantro made the flavor amazing. Second meal was a womens breakfast. I was served the omelette and hash browns. It was pretty average. No complaints, but no wows. Third meal, I was back for the tacos, but lunch tacos this time with shrimp. So wonderfully delicious. The staff was always attentive prompt and helpful. They do a very nice job. The atmosphere here capitalizes on gorgeous Phoenix in the fall. What a dreamy place to dine in the open air with the breeze, the beautiful giant Christmas tree across the street and soft music in the background. Just an absolute dream of a location. You really must go!
Walked in Christmas Eve and didn't have to wait. We had the Christmas specials, one lamb and one steak. Each was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Holiday drink mixes and ambience were spot on.
Came here for a paint and sip and had the best time! Ordered some food and it was very tasty! The buffalo cauliflower is a must. The service was fast, and friendly as well.
I'm from out of town and came here on Christmas. I loved it!! The place was very cute and had a nice indoor and outdoor area. Everyone was so nice, especially my waitress. She went above and beyond. They have vegan options that were all delicious!
I came here a couple of times while attending a conference at the hotel. Both times I was with a small group of about 6-8 and both times had to wait an hour for our food. When it did come, it was good. They didn’t have a lunch menu on the weekend, just brunch. I got tacos which were good. Dinner menu wasn’t very big but the Caesar salad with chicken was good. The best thing may have been a bowl of chocolate mousse I had for dessert. It’s convenient if you’re there but there may be better options elsewhere.
This outdoor/indoor bar and restaurant has an awesome atmosphere. The shrimp tacos were great. I'll be back when I stay at the Sheraton again.
Upscale hotel restaurant so a bit expensive, the meaty hamburger was pretty good. The shrimp fish was small , only 4 shrimp but tasty. Only 3 beers on tap which was very disappointing, nice cocktails. Friendly service, outdoor or indoor seating.
After a one night stay in downtown Phoenix my husband and I continued our date by riding electric scooters to brunch. @carcaraphx is a beautiful restaurant inside and out. I love a good boho aesthetic. Combine that with good food, perfect weather, and a spacious patio, and I'm a happy girl. We each enjoyed our biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and sausage. My husband has become a connoisseur of spicy bloody Mary's while I'm becoming the connoisseur of gin cocktails. You can never go wrong with either of those accompanying brunch on a patio. Vibes were 5 star, food was 4 star, but service was 3. The hostess was not friendly and never smiled, barky looking at us. Our older server was sweet and good came out fast, but when it was time to pay our server never returned. He wandered around and we had to go hand the card and check to him Follow @msbusyblonde on Instagram for more AZ fun
Definitely a vibey place. The food was good. The short rib was delicious! I would not recommend The lemon cake as the olive oil took over the lemon flavor. It tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of olive oil. They no longer give you the free cotton Candy dessert. Apparently they got rid of the machine. The service was mediocre. Waiter was kind but you could tell he was ready for his shift to end. The front desk host were cordial. Nothing above average. We waited 20 minutes for parking validation only to find out the garage we parked in was not covered in their validation. For future visits park in the Sheraton self parking and it will be free.
We had a lovely brunch sitting out on the patio people watching. The menu is very creative and the food was outstanding. We had the jalapeño biscuits and sausage gravy. (It was not spicy at all, although there were jalapeños in the biscuits), the bacon, egg and cheese pop tart with pepper jelly, the orange cinnamon roll, and the potatoes, I recommend them all. The restaurant is right across the street from the Herberger theater, which was convenient as we were seeing a matinee right after brunch. The only disappointment was the horrible service that we had. The restaurant was only about a quarter full and had plenty of staff, but we were unfortunate enough to get a waitress who couldn’t be bothered to check on us and refill our drinks, or take away empty plates, or even take the credit cards that were sitting on our table for 20 minutes while we were waiting to pay the bill. We finally had to go up to the bar and ask them to find our waitress. I can’t imagine what the service would be like if they were actually busy.
The atmosphere and aesthetic were beautifully designed. There were great places to sit outside, however this area was full when we arrived. I don't like to speak negatively about a restaurant's service as it is hard working with the public. That being said, the level of service we received did not match the beauty of the restaurant... We went for a working lunch, and the group ordered: 1. Budda bowl 🥣- a coworking friend ordered this and said it was pretty good. (4/5 🌟) 2. Fall Frittata - a coworking friend ordered this and gave it a (3.5/5 🌟) 3. Espresso bacon jam short rib wagyu burger 🍔- this was a mouthful literally and figuratively 😆. I wanted to love this, but not all the flavors paired well. The burger was prepared to order and was tasty, but all the extras didn't necessarily showcase. (4/5 🌟) 4. Side of fries 🍟- these weren't the hottest and lacked flavor. These weren't worth the calories, in my opinion, and I didn't finish. (3.5/5 🌟) Updating from an additional visit. The service was much better and our server was so friendly. We ordered: 1. Burrito 🌯- this was seasoned well and paired nicely with the Pico de Gallo and salsa. Would order again and recommend. (5/5 🌟) 2. Jalapeño cheddar biscuit and sausage gravy - the biscuit was delicious 🔥. (5/5 🌟) 3. Bloody mary - was pretty good, but the menu needs to be updated as we were missing some ingredients. (4/5 🌟)
New restaurant at the Sheraton downtown, which opened in March 2022. Atmosphere was very spacious with an open concept. Many beverages to choose from. Decent selection on the menu and not a lot of items, leaving you confused by what to pick. When your bill is presented, they bring the table a bowl of cotton candy to enjoy. I would definitely return and recommend visiting.
Had brunch here this past weekend. The vibe is good, with a large outdoor patio. They have misters for summer and heaters for winter along with some little table fireplaces. The food was really good here, as were the drinks. The “Rose all day sangria” was really good. Although the second one I ordered didn’t have the fruit/sangria and they didn’t tell me until he brought it. It was not as good like this. Would have been nice to have been offered a different option. The waiter was nice, although the service was really slow and we hardly saw him. I had to flag him down to get water refills, etc. It was not very busy either. Hopefully they can improve the service as that would bring up the rating. New edit Feb 2025 - Same experience as previous review. We have been here numerous times between. Good food but worse service than original review. Moving from overall 4 rating to 3. We ordered 3 Hugo spritz which we have had here numerous times before. The server comes back saying they cannot make them, I checked with the manager and she seemed annoyed I was asking but agreed to make them, and “get the mint from the kitchen” (what nicer bar doesn’t have mint), drinks come later without mint. A couple of food items arrived after we were done eating, one drink with a bug in it. We asked for more water and never received it. We spoke to the manager, she definitely needs better customer service, it does not seem that it is the right role for her to be a manager. The server was obviously very slow as well.
honestly i wanted to love this place but it was kinda meh. the service was amazing & the drinks were great. i came in cause everyone was telling me to try the one specific dish the fork tender short rib. it was such a disappointment. the meat itself was cooked well but lacked so much flavor, i salted the whole thing just to get something out of it. the puree was suuuuper sweet like too sweet. and then the brussel sprouts were barely candied and again lacked flavor. i will only come back for drinks since their most recommended dish really fell short imo
Food was okay, it was a little bland and small portions for what you pay. The service was not good at first, but a new server started helping me and then it was good after that. The place is so cute though, that is why I stopped by. Too bad the food wasn’t great, I would give it another chance with a different dish though.
Really cool environment, but the food was terrible and our waitress disappeared for more than 20 minutes at a time on two different occasions. Shrimp was rubbery, grits were from a box, and the burger was very bland. The environment was nice though, so i guess there’s that
Ate at Carcara two times while staying at the Sheraton this past week for a conference. The atmosphere is great. Sat outside both times and even at the same table. They do a great job of keeping area cool with having the doors open. Both times the food was warm, not hot. But, the service was awful both times! Lunch at 2:00pm I was sat by hostess. There were 2 other tables outside. I waited for over 15 minutes for water and that's only because I flagged someone down that appeared to be a manager. I asked if he could send over my waiter so I could order. He said he'd take my order. Done. My food was delivered by a second person who dropped and ran. Flagged down another person when I was done so I could get more water and my check. At this point I have no idea who my waiter is. She bring my check and I pay. I tipped but not sure who I was tipping. Next morning for breakfast same exact thing happened. Worst service I've had recently in a restaurant.
Went to eat and based on the reviews I had certain expectations. I ordered the Al Pastor Meatballs and the Adobo Shrimp. The meatballs had very little flavor and some spice, served with onions and pineapple. The texture was terrible and nothing of it said al pastor. The shrimp dish was equally disappointing. Six shrimp and two croquettes and the same issue as the meatballs, not a whole lot of flavor and some spice. I ate by myself and with both dishes and a beer the total came to $72. I get the concept of fine dining and inflation but if you’re going to charge that much for 6 shrimp and 4 meatballs you need to elevate your cuisine. The ambiance of the restaurant was great and service was decent but the food has to be at a high level and this was not.
Waited nearly 15 minutes to check-in. Waited for another 20 to be greeted at our table. Claimed that they were understaffed and that’s why he didn’t come say hi, I guess. But we were one of two tables in his section. And we watched him mosey to and fro with no sense of urgency and wait at the bar for drinks for an extended periods of time. Forgot our cocktails. Cocktails came well after apps. Gnat in the cocktail. Server never once asked how anything was. Made no attempt to recover the service. Our reservation was at 7pm and there was a crusty breakfast menu on the floor that had been there presumably all day. 2 stars is for the food and food alone. Duck empanadas were great. I got the sirloin- perfect. Wife got prime rib also wonderful. Brussels sprouts were a little too sweet and over cooked, but still very edible. Deserts composition is very good but they do seem to struggle with execution. S’more crème brûlée marshmallow was a little awkward to eat. And the white chocolate on the cheese cake was good but looked like a electrical outlet. Hard to get a bite with the whole dish as well. Would have done better as a cream on the side like the curd was.
I came with a big group for a breakfast here. I ordered the french toast. The toast itself is terrible. It was stale and like at least 3 days old. It had nice toppings, but the idea of bad bread ruins the whole deal. Service was terribly slow and waiter was little aggressive. The only plus they have decent presentation of food and very nice atmosphere. And to be honest, my friends ordered other varieties of eggs, sausage and ham, and they said it was decent not bad. So maybe their major problem is the stale bread
So we had a 12:45 reservation, were seated at 1, didn’t see a server for 20 minutes. Another 10-15 min to get drinks. We ordered when we ordered drinks. At 1:50 we asked when we might get our food. Our server came out 15 min later and said 4 min. 15 min later we asked the manager to put it in to go boxes because we were late for a meeting. 10 minutes later we FINALLY got our boxed food. Food was fine, and they didn’t charge us, but OMG - Terrible dining experience. Never got any refills of our drinks. Absolutely no excuse for lying about food timing.
The service was absolutely dreadful. The hostess was unfriendly, and our server was inattentive, leaving us sitting for 15 minutes without so much as a glass of water. I eventually had to flag down another server just to get some attention. Meanwhile, our server spent most of her time with coworkers at the bar rather than tending to customers. The short rib was decent but nowhere near worth the price. Same with the buffalo cauliflower and cocktail, just average. Overall, a disappointing experience—I won’t be returning.
What a disappointment! With going on new years I thought it would be an overall great experience, unfortunately it was just a big let down! First called to see how long wait would be they told us the restaurant was packed “so they squeezed us in.” when we got there it was barely even busy!!! So they sat us down and the waitress was so inattentive it was frustrating trying to chase her down to ask simple menu questions! But oh wait it was because she was chit chatting with another waitress with her back turned towards our table. After 30 mins of being there ordered a shot almost came at the same time as the food. And the food was a big let down!! I got the three sister plate and the chicken was so dry I could floss my teeth with it and the beans weren’t even cooked all the way! We also got the surf n turf and the lobster was a big let down being super squishy and no flavor. After chasing the waitress down for the check we expressed we weren’t happy with her service at all! And her response was “I’m sorry about that.” For $209 total bill it was whack!!! Never again nor would I ever recommend. But the restaurant was beautiful.
