Love the Vig! This location is so spacious, relaxing vibes, great for lunch breaks, and great happy hour/ lunch deals! We arrived and were greeted by the staff. We felt welcomed and we could sit anywhere that we’d felt comfortable. We chose the outdoor seating which is so beautiful! They also have a fireplaces. This is a pet friendly patio. They do provide water for the pups! The food was great! We ordered the calamari and shrimp! Delicious!! Their lunch entrees are affordable some as low as $15 . It includes entree, side, and soft drink!! Awesome deal for such a beautiful and nice restaurant! I would say this is an accessible restaurant!
This was the Ladero Vig which had a great atmosphere and super tequila bar for those who might be interested. Also I look forward to the fall when it's cooler outside to sit out on their beautiful patio. they also have great happy hour offerings. Would definitely recommend it. The poblano enchiladas were excellent as well as edamame for a starter.
Great location. Really cool vibe inside and the food was great. Attended the vague with a group of 12 for a happy hour after work get together. Really a fun spot. We’ll probably go back and take advantage of the huge patio.
The atmosphere here is definitely a vibe. The patio was so nice for dining. Our server was phenomenal and all of the food was delicious. I had never been to this location but I'm glad we decided on it for dinner. Also, the Coal Miner's Daughter lyrics were a fun find!
We've enjoyed ourselves here time after time. I recommend the steak frites and the Salmon. The cocktails are superb!
I love the VIG is an awesome restaurant. The service is always kind and friendly and we actually had a great server who helped us out the menu. I have been to the VIG on Fillmore in Central Phoenix and that was a great one with outside seating this one is just the same great atmosphere great restaurant and great menu and great service. They have a great selection on the menu to choose from and they have some good happy hour items as well. At this one ended up getting the street tacos which we delicious and we also got a salad they both were perfectly made. I gave this place five stars for everything places like this are rare so this is one to appreciate I've been to two so far and they have one more in park west that's the next one I'm gonna go check out. So enjoy.
Just happened to be driving by this location and we were hungry so we thought we'd try it. We've eaten at 2 of the other Vig locations and always enjoyed it. It's kind of hidden on N. Central Ave so look for the sign. Like the other Vig's the food was very good. The service could have been better. Had to flag down the wait staff to get drink refills, pepper, and ranch. Also, wish that my rigatoni entrée would have come with a side salad or piece of bread but it didn't and I had to order the salad separately. My wife had the honey chicken sandwich and it was good. We ate in the outside patio area and even though it was a cool night, it was warm enough on the patio with the heaters and large fireplace going. The fireplace and all the trees and lighting create a great dining atmosphere. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely eat there again if I'm in that area.
I mean the steak was good and the food and the pork belly sliders were good I'm not sure if it was like $75 for the meal good though you know what I mean. But the environment is real nice and the pictures and the TV and the patio and the ambiance so that's kind of what you're paying for also is the vibe.
Had been so excited to try the new Vig location, laderra *sp? (same owner I believe) was amazing and loved it, and the other Vig locations are great! The Vig is a great addition to our neighborhood. We were so excited, we wanted our first time going to be special so made a reservation for Easter with the family. Initially we were seated by the fireplace. Our party of seven with a toddler, the spot was super inconvenient but beautiful. Luckily the hostesses are amazing and found us a table quickly. We were very happy about that. Thank you! We started with the cinnamon rolls and onion rings. Weird combo, but both are so good! Everyone loved them, even the kids who normally can’t stand onion rings. We got the banana Nutella French toast which the kids loved. Some chilaquiles, which the fam orders regularly at other locations, and here they were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their chilaquiles. An order of the hash, which looked tasty! And two orders of the steak and eggs. The drinks were awesome!! The grapefruit brunch cocktail we got was so tasty. I was driving so only tasted it, but I definitely wished I wasn’t driving haha Don’t miss the cinnamon rolls! I would recommend.
Our server Renee was fabulous. Place is very busy with live music Saturday night. Had the House Mule tequila and pineapple and the veggie tacos. The atmosphere was great sat outdoors with the NBA game on and had some good food.
We were celebrating a birthday and a retirement.. made a reservation on Open Table- super easy, recommend. The host staff were very welcoming. He already knew we were celebrating and sat us right away. Patio area is lovely! Beautiful space with a big fireplace, music playing, & dog friendly. Great vibe. Wait staff top notch- she was knowledgeable on the menu and very helpful with suggestions. Cocktails on point. We had the Noble Pretzel- comes with mustard and cheese sauce. So good! For entrees, we had the Grilled Chilean Salmon, the Genuine Cheeseburger/fries, and the Grilled Mahi-mahi sandwich/ sweet potato fries. All excellent- best salon entree I’ve had in a long time! Management graciously comped our desserts, a warm cookie with vanilla gelato and a butterscotch bread pudding with vanilla gelato. Thank you! We really enjoyed them and that made my guests feel special. Overall.. excellent experience! Beautiful property with easy ample parking. Easy reservations, great staff and excellent food / drinks. We loved it and will definitely be back and continue to recommend.
Great variety on the menu everyone can be happy here. We came for happy hour and loved the pork tacos. The Vig has a rotating community cocktail where proceeds go to a local organization . I enjoyed the Pumpkin & Spice Elixir that benefits Arizona Small Dog Rescue!
First time at this location since the Mexican Restaurant went away. Love this locations patio. Especially being pet friendly. Sat out in the lounge area, outside the bar. Service was insanely FAST! Food and drinks were amazing. And our server gave us so many recommendations. Planning to go back for the HH prices!!
Went here for lunch and I was not let down. Beautfuly restaurant with a patio for daytime and interior for cold winter evenings. One of the more upmarket places to get lunch or brunch in Phoenix. I tried the honey chicken sandwich with a side of salad. The rest of the people I was with enjoyed theie meals too
Had a great experience here! The food was great and had a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff was very friendly! We sat outside and it was so cute. Definitely recommend going. (Pic of steak frites)
AMAZING! Hands down the best outdoor dining in Phoenix. The patio has an incredible vibe and the staff makes you feel at home. Even the G.M. was bussing tables and running food. We had such a wonderful evening and will definitely be back!
What crazy chef at The VIG decided to put eggs benedict on top of a birria empanada? I'm not sure who exactly but my gosh I need to thank them because that was the unlikely combo that I need in my life. Absolutely delicious and I'm an avid benedict fan so finding something so unique and delicious is rare. Bravo! The VIG was a great choice for lunch and will definitely return when in the area.
I like this place for a laid back drink and food with a friend. We will be back and try sitting outside too.
Favorite patio in Phoenix delicious food and great cocktails. Highly recommend the Old Fashion 2.0 and Make It Reign.
The food is consistently great. Their chicken enchiladas are nothing short of amazing as is their apple pie. They have a huge patio and inside is dark and cool - gotta love that blasting A/C in the summer! Our server Josie is on her game!! Eat here!
Nice pleasant environment with a welcoming vibe. Friendly staff who obviously take great pride in themselves and their establishment. Fantastic food and drink options. Pricing is unmistakably on the high side of value.
The ViG is a great restaurant.if you’re looking to just catch a game and some great food or spending that special night on a date then The ViG is the place to go . You get a romantic atmosphere for a special date or the screened TVs for that sports game you want to see great food and desserts.
Worth it every time. I’ve been a Vig fan for years and have been coming to The Vig in N. Central since it opened. You can count on neighborhood-style service, high-quality ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere. Elsie (GM) is a true servant leader and community supporter. Did I mention the huge dog-friendly, shaded patio?
Great cheeseburger. The large secondary parking lot is also very convenient. Hate having to fight for parking at other restaurants. Will be back. They even brought me a free margarita after having to wait awhile for happy hour, which was really nice.
Monday special is awesome. Good burger and beer for $15. The patio is great
The service is great and the employees are all very talented and genuine. The food was ample, diverse, and tasty, and simple. The pazole, brussel sprouts, mac & cheese, tacos, and butterscotch bread pudding are excellent comfort foods. The patio here is well-designed, with a west-facing vertical wall that helps reduce glare from the setting sun and minimizes noise from Central Ave. Parking is safe and plentiful at lots to the east. It has a welcoming neighborhood feel, and a more family oriented vibe that sets it apart from the Arcadia Vig location.
This is such a nice place to go have a cocktail. It’s very friendly. The staff is very friendly. Michaela made it special the bartender she was amazing.
Just stopped in for a HH cocktail. Very good Blackberry Smash! Loved sitting out by the fireplace. Server was very friendly and funny! Enjoyed our visit!
We had a great time at The Vig—fantastic drinks, solid food, and stellar service from Tiana, who was both our server and bartender. She was friendly, attentive, and made some excellent cocktails. We started out on the patio, which is a nice spot, but between the humidity and the misters not doing much, we ended up moving inside. Definitely the right move. DRINKS Daily Mule (mezcal, pomegranate liqueur, vanilla) – Super refreshing, well balanced, and lightly sweet. I loved it, but my husband (a traditional mule loyalist) wasn’t a fan. Coug Cup (lemon vodka, elderflower, strawberry purée, prosecco) – Kind of like a floral strawberry lemonade. Pleasant, but a little underwhelming overall. Pineapple Sunrise (tequila, pineapple, hibiscus, lime) – Light and slightly sweet. The hibiscus really comes through. Comes with a Tajin rim, but I preferred it without. Blackberry Smash (bourbon, blackberry, lemon, mint) – As someone raised in Tennessee, this one felt like home. Smooth, fruity, and perfect for a southern summer night. This is the grown-up punch at the cookout. Hands down the best drink of the night. I rarely order a second of the same drink because I like to try new ones, but I got a second Blackberry Smash after our meal. FOOD Noble Pretzel – Slightly over baked and had a mild burnt taste to the exterior, but still good. Queso was tasty, but pretty plain. The house mustard was a whole experience—sharp, PUNGENT, slightly sweet. It has a serious kick, in the best way. Vig Burger – Smelled incredible, and I had high hopes, but it didn’t quite live up to the aroma. It was juicy, seasoned and cooked well, but the guacamole made it messy, and the flavors didn’t fully come together for me. The fries started off fine but got overly salty as we got further into them. Overall, the drinks, service, and ambiance were fantastic. Tiana took great care of us and clearly knows her way around a cocktail shaker. The food was a little underwhelming, but I’ll definitely be back to try their brunch—especially if the drinks are anything like what we had at dinner.
The food was great. We had a business meeting with a variety of appetizers. Loved the $10 Monday night burger special. 🍔 The burger was tasty but a bit undercooked for my liking. It took a little longer than expected for the food to come out. The server was a little rough around the edges and not very personable. The Bread Pudding was amazing. 🤩
We stayed at an Airbnb near by and wanted to check this place out. Overall it has a nice vibe. Food was great. Everyone is enjoyed their meal. We were a group of 13 celebrating GCU grad. Giving more of a 3ish only because salad could have been chopped into smaller pieces and never got a spoon for our ice sundae. We had to ask several times for drinks, and waitress thought my husband was alone when he was clearly sitting next to me. Gratuity is also included per transaction in large group (18%)
Stopped in to kill a little time before a basketball game, had an appetizer, and had a couple of drinks. Appetizer was the queso dip-good but can't give a fair review without a proper experience (in all fairness). I had the pear cider in draft, crisp, slight sweetness and satisfying my better half had the old fashion and I had a tast, excellent. Well, be back.
Tried the pozole, and it was delicious. Only negative is the portion. The pozole bowl was half of the bowl, and I wished it was more as it was very good. Salsa and guacamole lacked a bit of flavor, but other than that, everything was pretty good.
Great menu with unique offerings for lunch and brunch. I love the outdoor patio, comfortable and modern. Friendly service, nice location, and good eats!
I do miss the Ledera Taverna y Cocina. However, the the patio is still great and the food is good. It's a great north phoenix spot that I will keep coming back to.
It’s a amazing atmosphere and the wait staff are so fun and fast. The burger was delicious if a bit salty
I like their patio, even stays a little cooler during the summer with the shade and misters. Cheeseburger sliders on the HH menu were pretty tasty this time around. I like the IPA they have on tap. Chopped salad was not chopped nor that good. My pops loves the pastrami sandwich. We will be back.
Service was excellent! We had a group of 8 for a friends birthday. The quality of the food just wasn’t that great. My hot honey chicken was over cooked and had black marks on it. It was very dry and honestly I should have sent it back to the kitchen but I just didn’t bother. Maybe I will come back and give a different dish a try. If you look closely at the picture of my sandwich you can see the blackened parts of it on the edges which was actually all over the patty. The sweet potato fries and “white BBQ” sauce were delicious though!
This is a fun neighborhood spot when you want a burger or some pasta or a nice salad. Their desserts are delicious. Their butterscotch bread pudding is famous, and I always have the cookie skillet which is warm and gooey and as delicious as you would hope. I miss some of the items on the old menu, particularly the salmon. It was delicious, but no longer available. The only thing that kept this from being four stars review is my appetizer of the onion rings. They were very greasy and tiny. Not at all what you would consider onion rings. I ordered the kids salad because I wanted to save room for that wonderful dessert. It was $10 for what wasn’t even as big as a side salad, so I felt like that was not quite a very good value. And we lost our server somewhere after dessert. They were waiting tables all over the restaurant, including out on the patio, and when I asked if they were short staffed, the response was no. So I thought there was at least maybe be an excuse for the slow service. But there was none, my three stars. We’ll be back because it’s always a fun place and right now the weather is beautiful on the patio. I just won’t order the other rings next time.
Had my eye on it for several months and wanted to go there just because it looked super cute and it was. I was disappointed to experience just ok service. And the food was overpriced it was just typical bar food for a high price. I made a better hamburger at home.. I will probably go back just for a drink.Because I loved the atmosphere.... Needs to step up on the menu to match the ambiance
IGNORED! I was completely ignored by the restaurant manager who kept coming to our table, more than the waiter did. The Mgr asked mom what else can I get you? But not me. As he walked away, I asked if I could get condiments, please? I thanked him upon returning with them. He came by 2 more times & only addressed mom. I asked for more water. It's beyond words how others go out of their way to make people feel unseen. Great customer service is all that we ask for. Just do your job that you accepted. Restroom = needed tidying. Outdoor patio=peaceful No wait=nice
Got the wrong entree delivered with food and it just tasted awful the chicken was so tough and the noodles for the Mac and cheese were so hard to eat cause it was so thick and hard like it was way over or undercooked. Also the apple pie we ordered came looking like very under cooked cake batter so I didn't even try it. Have ordered here a few times before and it keeps going downhill with each try.
I have LOVED the rigatoni pasta from The Vig for a long time but shortly after discovering it, the location on 40th St. stopped serving it. I haven’t been there in a while and when I looked it up I saw there’s a new location on Central AND that they had the rigatoni back. I was so excited! I went to order it online and they gave an option to do curbside. I just got back from a 11 hour travel day and didn’t feel like having to go in to grab it. I was quoted that it would be ready in about 30-45 minutes, however I got a text saying it was ready 9 minutes after I ordered it. I quickly drove over there and used the link they texted me to let them know I was there. The link informed me they would be out shortly with my order. After about 15 minutes I called the restaurant just to make sure I was in the correct parking area because I had never been to this new location and the parking lot was a little confusing. Well, I called twice and it rang til I got the answering machine both times, no one answered. Which is extremely strange to me… as a business do they just not answer their phone? Normally at this point I would’ve just gone in to grab it myself, however because it was ready so much quicker than it was supposed to be, I ran out of the house without shoes. I then decided to pull around to the front entrance to see if there was a sign about curbside pickup. There wasn’t but I saw the workers standing inside and they saw me and brought my food out shortly after. The food is amazing as always but the lady who brought it out was EXTREMELY rude. I would like to preface this by saying I have worked as a host, server, bartender and food runner for 6 years. I understand when things happen at restaurants and I’m usually very patient and forgiving with things. However this lady made me feel like I was awful for ordering curbside togo food. After she handed me my food and I thanked her, I asked just so I knew for the future, if I was in the right spot for curbside. She responded with quite an attitude saying “Normally people just walk in themselves and grab it. We leave it right there” (and pointed to the front entrance). I responded by saying oh I’m sorry I just was confused because I ordered curbside. She responded “yeah we don’t do that”. I responded by saying oh that’s just a little confusing cause you guys offer that option online. I was clearly confused and she had nothing more to say except that they “don’t do that” and that normally people come in to grab their food themselves. Her tone was extremely condescending and she kept backing up and turning back towards the restaurant as I was trying to have a conversation with her. I know if I ever did that at my work I would be in BIG trouble. Anyways, the food was great like always but the service was awful! I’ve never experienced anything like that before. Very disappointing after being so excited that there’s a location so much closer to me now. Let’s just say I won’t be going back to that location but instead to my original location on 40th.
Let me start by saying our server was awesome! However, the kitchen must’ve had an off night. My wife’s steak was undercooked and when the server brought it back, it looked like it was microwaved. It looked like shoe leather. My burger was great! I also ordered the white cheddar mac & cheese as a side. Do yourself a favor and order the fries instead. Their mac & cheese has no cheddar cheese flavor at all.
My husband, son, and I had brunch there this past Sunday. The patio is beautiful and the wings were fresh and hot, but all 3 entrees came out freezing cold. Our server was very sweet and apologetic, and normally we don’t send things back but they were inedible. Anyway, she brought us 3 new entrees and guess what? They were cold again. My husband had the avocado toast with over easy eggs on top and they were completely solid and the avocado was like a paste, and tasted packaged. My son had biscuits and gravy, also with cold solid eggs on top, and I had the chicken sandwich which would have been tasty, but it was also cold. The server comped us the wings, which was nice but all 3 of us left there feeling gross, like why the heck did we just eat that. Disappointed because we can walk there and we love the patio and the drinks, but probably won’t be eating anything there again except the wings.
I wanted to surprise my boyfriend and have a party at this location because I loved the atmosphere. I was told that I was able to sit outside and they had special tables even though it was going to rain. I went and was forced inside in a big table when there were plenty of tables outside. Talk to the manager was able to sit outside but then was belittled and be rated with big group cadence and how we should order, etc. even though I was told prior that I was able to sit outside. I dealt with attitude and my boyfriend accidentally left a gift card there. We seemed to be pushed to leave. Even though yes, we should be responsible for our own cards however it speaks volumes to the integrity of their staff because it was a gift card and now is missing. We remembered that we left the card later and it was in plain sight of everything. When I went to check to see if they had the card, the manager hid behind the staff member and had the staff member talk to me. It was not a great experience. It stressed me out and I was very specific about birthdays everything, etc. Just beware if you’re bringing a big party here. It’s not a good idea.
We were there for a birthday party dinner, the waitress was so nice but we had issues with food. Calamari and Shrimp appetizer was overcooked, greasy and portion was really small. One of my friends ordered salmon, this time it was raw and she returned twice to the kitchen. Definitely, we won’t coming back to this place.
I ordered online the rigatoni. I had ordered this before and enjoyed it. But I just ordered the rigatoni online and when I got home it was a different type of rigatoni. For $26.00 I was very disappointed. It looked like it was thrown together and old . Their was no bread or anything else. I would not recommend this to anyone. Buyer beware 😞
Waited for 18min and the hostess noticed we didn't have water. She kindly brought us some while we saw multiple servers lighting candles and was walking around but ignored us. Ended up leaving after 30min.
I never right reviews. Mostly because I really don't feel strongly about third-party opinions. However, I am compelled to right one today. I have visited this establishment several times and had good experiences. Tonight, was the worst. Upon arrival, my friend and I witnessed a man tracking down the manager. He was speaking in expletives and was very upset. We chalked it up as just another malcontent. Shortly after, I received my drink, which was made wrong. Shortly after that, I received my dinner, which was made wrong. I waited for the correct entre, which was made wrong again. The food, although expensive, was worse than fast food. (I never eat fast food.) A woman sat down next to us and asked us about the drinks. We gave her advice. However, she ordered calamari with her drink. It looked like it was made from frozen prepped food. It smelled like rotten fish. I asked her how she liked her drink. She said it was good but that the calamari was horrible. She left most of it on her plate and left. This place has lost its luster. I am sadly disappointed because I work and live in the area. It seems clear that they do not care about the quality of the food or service. They have become accustomed to people just accepting substandard food paying quality prices. This location has changed hands 3 times since I moved to the area. I think it's time for another change. Vote with your wallets.
