Great spot with authentic Italian food- our favorites are the lamb skewers, Nonna Michelina’s chitarra, and the babá and tiramisu for dessert. It’s also quiet and not too busy, great for diners who don’t like being overstimulated by a noisy dining room!
Tom was awesome and everything was really good. Lamb skewer was so delicious and pasta’s are fresh. Thanks to Tom again!!
The food was great, and perfectly portioned. It was nice to have a set dinner and not feel like going to sleep right afterwards. Servers were definitely attentive, but not really friendly or personable.
This is my neighborhood restaurant and I dine here often. Great food, great ambience and great service. The sausage broccoli rabe pasta and chicken Milanese are excellent. They also serve the Sicilian soft drink Chinotto which is hard to find! Nice wine list too. A great spot for a sit down lunch.
Delicious food, excellent wine, lovely ambiance! I had the Caesar Salad, Branzino, and flourless chocolate cake and would recommend each dish. We were a large table and they were able to accommodate. When it’s warm out, they also have outdoor seating!
I hosted 38 guests for my 90th birthday. The food was delicious, elegantly presented, within the confines of a very comfortable setting. The lighting was perfect as the room dimly glowed, creating an atmosphere of most pleasant intimacy. The service was discreet and competent. I highly recommend this venue. E Pyle.
I absolutely LOVED my Valentine’s Day dinner at Taralucci. Rita amazingly made us a last minute Valentine’s Day reservation, and the service we received was great. Excellent selection of authentic Italian dishes, great portions, and the Valentine’s Day menu was extra special and delicious. Thank you Taralucci team!
I came here on a Saturday night with my cousins before a concert and it was not crowded. We made reservations a week before hand and got seated right away. The servers were all very friendly. Between four people, we shared 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 1 dessert and I was a good full. The polpettine meatballs and Frito misto were good. The pinsa burrata is fresh and delicious. The rigatoni short rib is unique and cacio e pepe is decent. The pastas were a bit undercooked but both flavorful. The tiramisu was very good and I absolutely recommend it!
We reserved a team lunch here for group of 6. Our table was ready upon arrival. The restaurant has a nice European rustic vibe, with a bar area in front, and outdoor seating as well, weather permitted. It’s a full on Italian lunch menu, if you are not familiar with Italian dishes, you would spend a lot of time in Google lol! The lunch menu is also different than dinner menu. We got the burrata for appetizer. Amazing flatbread with tomato sauce and outrageous burrata cheese. I made sure no cheese was wasted. All of us got variety of dishes from pasta, gnocchi to panini. They all loved and spoke highly of their food. I got the Salmon that was seared so beautifully. The skin was crisp, but a very soft tasty layer underneath. The vegetables on the dish were also cooked so well. The special blueberry non alcoholic drink was solid as well. Overall e had a fantastic team lunch. Service was incredible. We were in and out within an hour.
Wow. Such a cozy place, rustic, intimate. The food was amazing. Best I've ever had at any restaurant in my 38 years. True traditional Italian. Not the Italian-American we are used to. They make their pasta in house, as well as everything else being made to order. The red wine on special was divine. There were so many points for each dish where we just sat in silence and stared at our plates in a trance. Each bite was savoured, and rightfully so. Pure perfection from beginning to end. Our waiter was wonderful too! His Italian accent was so thick and beautiful I wanted to put him in my pocket so he can narrate my entire life.
We had a dinner out and tried several dishes. We ordered the lamb ten that were really good, would definitely recommend. The borata pizza was good. The broccoli pasta was the best pick, loved it and would definitely recommend. The dessert are great, we had the tiramisu that was amazing! And the chocolate muse which was nice. Their wine pick is great as well, but the service took long time to bring it. We ordered seafood risotto, that was too cheesy. The carbonara pasta was ok, but a sogy, so I got disappointed.
Excellent food when I came here for a private event. This place has got its bread and olive oil RIGHT, with the perfect saltiness and chewiness on the bread. The arugula and walnut salad was my fav dish, it was light, nutty and the dressing was done perfectly. Salmon was also a hit with the crispy and well seasoned skin (eat it w the skin), and got chicken, pasta, potatoes, and asparagus as well all of which were very good if you add a tad bit more salt to it. Berry salad for dessert with the fresh mint was a nice final cleanser. Edit: Came here again for a small group lunch and the table average rating is probably 3.5. I liked my octopus, but others found their pasta completely bland!
I went for a party yesterday and the vibe and energy of the server was great. The hospitality was great. Was the food to die for, ehh. Even though the party menu might be different for any regular person who dines in, I just wasnt a fan. But it was filling portions, very fresh, and light. The starter I had was the meatballs, they were soft and the sauce was great, but if it had a tad bit more salt I know the flavors would be showing more. Then, the main course I had was the Cacio e Pepe and there was a lot of cheese that it gave the sauce this grit I wasnt fond of. But the pasta was amazing in that dish, loved the texture. Lastly, the bread pudding was nice, the sauce couldve been sweeter. It was overall, an okay meal. The drinks menu they handed just wasnt doing it for me, I’m not a mezcal fan but I just couldn’t find a drink I was interested in besides the wine. It was a nice experience, the staff catered to everyone’s needs, food portions great, wine selections great. If you want a classy Manhattan Italian experience for a cute price come here.
Overall I enjoyed the food at this restaurant. It was simple but quite tasty. The drinks here were also quite good. Personally I liked it much better than La Pecora Bianca but Scampi restaurant is still my favorite for Italian. The only thing that annoyed me was Happy Hour which is only available for seatings outside and at the bar. Anywhere else you sit, you don't get Happy Hour...which doesn't make any sense to me. So if you want to take advantage of happy hour between 5-7pm everyday take note!
We usually go to the Tarallucci e Vino UWS, but this time we decided to visit Union Square location instead. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The gentleman behind the counter was not friendly or welcoming at all — in fact, he came across as quite rude. The only positive part of our visit was our server, who was warm and friendly and the only reason this review isn’t one star. The brunch itself was just so-so. I ordered the Farro e Quinoa and requested my eggs over easy. They arrived with broken yolks and were cooked through, which was not what I asked for. My friend ordered poached eggs with asparagus & smoke salmon and specifically requested eggs to be a medium cook, but they came out very runny and loose. It’s frustrating when something as simple as eggs isn’t prepared properly — honestly, I could have done better at home. We didn’t say anything at the time and just ate it as is. On top of that, they don’t even serve regular coffee on weekends during brunch, which was another disappointment. To finish things off, when we left, no one said goodbye or thank you. This is not the level of service we’ve come to expect, especially compared to the UWS location. Overall, a very disappointing visit.
Food was okay, not bad. Ernesto was a good waiter but I got home and realized I was overcharged for a tip that was left in CASH. On the receipt, CASH was written on the tip line. I took a picture of the receipt before leaving. Total signed for was $97.99, I was charged $117.99 — that’s not right at all. Please make sure you check your statements and that they match what’s on the receipt.
