They say food is as good as the cook's mental state is and we were lucky group of 8 people who just enjoyed our lunch tryst today at Samui Thai.. The veg and non veg appetizers and the main entrees felt fresh and enjoyable to eat. Very few places where I felt the freshness and this was one of them... Keep this essence flowing...👍
I was in town for a work conference and tried Samui Thai Cuisine for the first time. It was excellent. I ordered the Panang curry and added salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. The curry was rich and flavorful, and the added crab took it to another level. Easily the best Panang curry I’ve ever had. Great food, comforting flavors, and well worth the visit. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
We had a delicious dinner here and a delightful chat with the owners daughter when we finished. My husband's hot soup had just the right amount of spice while my pad see ew noodles were full of flavor! We'll definitely be back for more!
This place is a must-try in my opinion. The food was excellent. I still dream of the broth of the soup I got, the flavor was amazing and layered, with a sweet and savory component that kept me coming back for more. We really like it, it was a reasonable price given the area, and we all left full and satisfied.
Went to Samui Thai for lunch and had a great time. Food was great, staff for courteous and the place for neat an clean. Ordered the veg roll which was very crispy and tasted good. Nice filling Also had the red thai curry with rice. The portion size for the curry was amazing, and had ample veggies and tofu. Although tofu was a little chewy. Spice levels you can adjust while placing the order. I took level 2, which was good for me. But a good experience. Just loved the curry and as you can see in the pictures the bowl was almost clean when i was done. Would highly recommend the place!
THE BEST Thai restaurant in Dallas! We go here all the time. Ambience is great and the restaurant is plenty spacious for gatherings and family dinners. Favorite items to get here are the pad thai, pad see ew, panang curry, anything with scallops and seafood, and the mango sticky rice. Food is very authentic and fresh. The mango sticky rice is also the best I’ve had and is as authentic as you can get. Family owned business and the staff is great!
Wonderful place! Very good food, amazing service, and a nice, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were very friendly as well! I had trouble deciding on a dish, but the workers suggested the Yellow Curry Fried Rice. Very delicious! My friends very much enjoyed their meals as well. Although we went here in June on a busy Friday evening, we were quickly seated and served. This is a wonderful place to sit down and eat with friends or family. I will be coming here again!
I had an outstanding experience at this Thai restaurant! The ambience is superb, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The chicken satay with peanut sauce is a must-try, and the spring rolls paired perfectly with the diverse spicy sauces, especially the chilli oil sauce. The red curry was delicious, and the smoked flavor in the pad see ew was delightful. Exceptional fried rice and can't wait to mention the absolutely delicious mango ice cream, adding a delightful sweet touch to the overall experience.
On a visit from India to Dallas, I was taken to this restaurant on 17 Nov 2023. This was my first tryst with Thai cuisine. Being an Indian and vegetarian, the local cousins helped decide the dishes. We had cashew and pineapple fried rice, Singapore stir fry noodles, Pad Thai and Red Thai curry and House salad with ginger and grape dressing. Of course the instructions were " No meat". We also ordered a Thai iced tea. The waitress attended to us with a smiling countenance, and that added to the experience. The food came up very fast and each dish tasted wonderful. The iced tea was very refreshing. The salad dressing was very tasty and added to the taste of a wonderful green salad. Each dish was very good. For a vegetarian, this was a very good meal. Compliments to the staff for cheerfully serving us and producing a yummy meal. Would love to visit again......
The service here was out of the world. Absolutely phenomenal. A cozy environment. The food was good, about what you'd expect from this type of restaurant. We'll definitely be back.
I used to go frequently however returned recently after a long gap between visits. I will be going back again soon. I love the flavor of the Thai food here. Its not overpowering with fish sauce which I experience in many places. This reminds me more of the food I buy when I'm in Thailand. I had the Yellow Curry Fried Rice which was simple and nice. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy, and didn't feel over crowded.
The food was good. My kids loved the spring rolls, they claim that they were the best they have ever had. We also got Salmon Green curry, pad Thai and Thai basil fried rice. We loved the Salmon curry and fried rice. Pad Thai was too sweet for us. They adjust the spice level which was great. I loved the dimmed lights inside. The servers were great and checked in often.
Good Food, but Poor Service Experience We visited this restaurant and overall enjoyed the food, especially the vegetarian options. We tried a variety of fried rice dishes with tofu and vegetables, along with edamame—everything tasted great and was well-prepared. However, there are a few things to be aware of. It’s best to dine at least an hour before closing time. The biggest downside was the service. The staff came across as rude and unwelcoming, which took away from the experience. Additionally, they automatically charge a 20% service fee for groups of 4 or more, which is unusual (most places only apply that for groups of 6 or more). Great food, but the service and policies left a lot to be desired.
I came here for a birthday dinner and it was perfect. Our server was attentive and made great recommendations. I had the Paradise Seafood Curry and it was delicious! The crab and cream cheese roll was good but I expected more from it. The prices are pretty reasonable for the portion too. Overall, I’m happy with my experience and would return.
I love Thai food, and this restaurant has good food in a great location, The Legacy Shops. The mixed drinks are good and all the hot teas I've tried have the flavor they should. I have been a regular at this restaurant for years, both eating in and ordering to go. It always looks clean, the staff is sometimes friendly and professional and sometimes not, there is always new staff. But I can recommend their food, it’s tasty. I love the egg rolls there, also the coconut chicken soup is delicious.
Tried Samui Thai Cuisine and ordered tofu fried rice and red curry. Both dishes were tasty and well-cooked, but the flavors didn’t feel very authentic compared to traditional Thai food. The Thai tea was much sweeter than expected and a bit overpowering. On the positive side, the dessert sampler was enjoyable and probably the highlight of the visit. Customer service was not very attentive, which took away from the overall experience. Decent food, but there’s room for improvement in authenticity and service.
I’ve tried this place twice and the food just doesn’t measure up to other Thai places in the area. The flavor is lacking which is the opposite of what I’ve come to expect from Thai cuisine. The service is fast and the servers are kind, but I wouldn’t recommend unless you prefer a milder taste for food and not the robust flavors that Thai food normally offers. There are lots of good reviews, so maybe try for yourself to see how you like it. The prices are fair, especially at lunch time, parking can be a challenge depending on the time you come, so be aware of that.
Take out food is very different from dining in. We have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it but we got takeout and the food was completely bland. We asked for “hot” and there was no spice present at all. We asked for beef and there was barely any to be seen. Just bland rice and noodles
This used to be one of our favorite Thai spots — a go-to for weekday lunches with coworkers and sometimes a date-night choice with my husband. We hadn’t been back in quite some time, so we were genuinely excited to return. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. I ordered my usual favorite, the Thai basil curry, a dish I’ve loved here in the past. This time, it was completely underwhelming. In fact, every dish we ordered fell flat. The flavors lacked depth and authenticity, and nothing stood out the way it used to. The service made things worse. The staff was rushed and noticeably rude, with no warmth or politeness whatsoever — and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. We felt more like an inconvenience than paying customers. The final blow was paying $6.50 (plus tax!) for a regular Thai iced tea that didn’t even taste as good as it used to. For those prices, you expect quality and consistency, and sadly, we got neither. It’s disappointing to see a place we once loved decline so much. We left wishing we had just stuck with the good memories instead of trying to recreate them.
