Food was great. The Kung Pao Chicken used only dark meat - why does no one else do this? This has to be one of the most obvious things for any restaurant that serves chicken to do. The pork dumplings were great as well. The custard pies were disappointing. Very bland, dry flaky pastry. Pastry's texture was nicely flake and very buttery, but almost no flavor except wheat (no sugar, no salt, no other flavors). The custard filling was super thin. Texture was great for the filling, but super small portion for filling (tiny and thin), and almost no flavor except for egg (not sweet, not salty, not savory, no other flavors present). I'll stick to the savory dishes next time. Service was great. Ambience was not the best. Bathroom has slippery floors (I suspect someone spilled hand soap, or that the soap wasn't fully mopped up). Good place to order food for delivery, or to bring your foodie friends to. Maybe not ideal for those who value ambience. Probably not ideal for date night.
This was my first time back in many years. I only got the Hot and Sour soup today and it was very good. I will be back to try some of their dumplings and chinese original dishes. Pick up was fast and checkout was very friendly.
I took my wife to Zhang’s Kitchen in Plano for Peking Duck, and we really enjoyed our meal! We ordered the Crab & Shrimp Dumplings, Spicy & Sour Seafood Soup, and of course, the Peking Duck. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and the duck was definitely the highlight — crispy skin, tender meat, and beautifully prepared. One tip: make sure to order the Peking Duck as soon as you sit down, since they prepare it fresh to order. It’s absolutely worth the wait! We’ll definitely be coming back.
The dimsum here is great! Super hot and fresh! We came on a Saturday at 12:30PM. The wait was around 7 min and it was packed. The seating is a bit crowded. The food took probably 20-30 to get out. It took a very long time but when they did come out, the flavor and freshness did not disappoint. The 蝦腸粉 was good but the sauce was just soy sauce instead of its signature sugary sweet soy sauce that’s typically served with it. The Shumai is very good too! They don’t skimp out on the meat filling! Everything was delicious and we will be coming back for sure!
Definitely a unique finds hidden gem. If you’re looking for authentic fresh taste Dim Sum look no further. I even spoke to the owner definitely a small world to find exquisite cuisine all the way from Tampa Bay since I moved back home. I recommend the Sui Mai, Fried Calamari, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Stuffed Shrimp Eggplant and definitely excellent shrimp balls. Awesome great fresh quality food and reasonable pricing. I’m definitely coming back to try other options soon. Thank you…
Came here for the dim sum. The food was alright, nothing spectacular. I’m too used to the Dim Sum places back in California so that’s what I am comparing to. We got the following items: Chrysanthemum tea, Stuffed eggplant with shrimp, BBQ pork rice noodles, Fried dough stick rice noodles, Turnip cake, Phoenix claws, Beef short ribs, Egg custard, Sui Mai, Fried meat dumpling, and lastly the eight treasures rice in lotus leaf. The Phoenix claws is the literal translation and it’s the red chicken feet. It tasted good and was flavorful. The stuffed eggplant with shrimp was also good. Fried shrimp mixed into the eggplant. The bbq pork rice noodle was okay. The bbq pork didn’t have much flavor. It did come out steaming hot though, so at least it was freshly made. The fried dough stick rice noodles was good. The fried dough stick was nice and crunchy. It should’ve been paired with a sweet soy sauce in my opinion. The turnip cake didn’t have much ingredients in it unlike other places I’ve been to. The eight treasures rice in lotus leaf was pretty good. Peanuts inside so make sure you’re not allergic. Overall, the food was okay. It’s better than the other Dim Sum place we went to in Frisco. This restaurant was also very busy even at 2pm on a Sunday. Also seems to attract a variety of people so to me this place must be doing a pretty good job.
Of the several dim sum restaurants in the area, Zhang's is at the top of my list (and the kids love it too). Whereas the staff isn't very attentive or friendly at other similar establishments, the staff is always welcoming with us here. The Salt & Pepper Tofu and Honey Walnut Shrimp are my usual go-tos. And their satay (chili sauce) is my favourite!
We got there early, so we were promptly seated. Ordered a bunch of food and ended up to full and couldn't finish everything. I only tried the dim sum and it was delicious! One of the best dim sum places I've had in a long time. The only disappointing thing was the fried shrimp balls were so SMALL. they were great but small compared to other restaurants. Customer service was great and the waiters were always attentive on taking away our empty dishes and filling water. Definitely coming back!
Looking for dim sum and don’t want to deal with long lines, carts and high prices? Check out Zhang’s for friendly service, great prices and dim sum served piping hot. The seafood pan fried noodles are loaded with seafood and served in a large plate. The dim sum dumpling are not made as delicate as high end places but the taste, quality and price point is perfect.
Had an absolutely amazing dinner tonight. The dim sum was absolutely fabulous. Loved almost every single dish and was not disappointed with anything. The owner and staff were lovely and friendly. Cherry (one of the owners) even took the time to chat with our little boy. We have a new favorite dim sum restaurant and will be back. 2 standout dishes that were our favorite are the calamari (light, tender, creamy with just the perfect amount of salt) and the beef tendon (super tender & seasoned to perfection). This is a MUST TRY folks! Please follow me for more reviews!
Solid dim sum experience! We stopped by around 11:45 AM on a Sunday and it was about 80% full. For three adults and a child, the bill came to $120 (with tip), which feels on par for DFW. The flavors were right on point. The stir-fried flat noodles had that nice 'wok hei' (breath of the wok), and the beef stomach and tendon were flavorful. Durian puffs were also tasty. My only critique is the temperature—the congee was lukewarm and the veggies were a little cold. Overall, decent portions and a good meal. We'll definitely visit again.
>> Nov 2025 Revisited again. This time I knew what dim sum to avoid and ordered according to my previous experience. Food was more enjoyable. Service was still great. Just added more pictures. >> 2023 Heard good things about this place so tried it one afternoon by myself. Picked two dim sum and two other dishes. Shrimp Rice Noodles (蝦腸粉) was underwhelming, had better from other places with thinner noodles. Crab Shrimp Dumplings also too doughy to my liking. Clams were tasty without sands found within. Salt and Pepper Tofu was also on point. Service was attentive and efficient. Will go back but probably not for dim sum.
The fried dim sums were pretty good. Loved the egg tarts. Pork Soup dumplings were okay. BBQ pork rice paper and leaf wrapped rice fillings were disappointing. They give you a menu to check off what you want. We didn’t realize and were waiting a while to order til a staff noticed we didn’t have a marker to check off items. Service was overall awful bc there were only three staff manning the restaurant while simultaneously being cashiers. They were busy setting out and clearing tables. We had to flag twice to ask for refill of water. They def needed a hostess and cordoned areas to specific staff to check on customers. Pros are menu has a variety of items and food was brought out fast.
We arrived at 11:30 on a weekday, not too busy but by the time we left at 12:30, the place got busy. We're still in search of a good dim sum place, not this place! We order the usual dim sum stuff, the shrimp rice roll was too thick and not much flavor! The steamed spare ribs was a too big and not much of the black bean sauce flavor! The chicken feet had a nice flavor but it was not hot! The bbq steam buns were ok but the filling was too mushy! If you really want some dim sum, it's ok to try it!
The food is good, and customer service as a restaurant needs to be improved. You are waiting to be served and servers forget your orders. Dishes are served separate and not all at once. Second review We revisit this place because the food is good but the service doesn’t improve, now you got multiple plastic bags over tables, server come to serve you with disposable blue plastic gloves, cups are dirty .Hope they improve cause food is very good other ways.
Came for Din Sum. Staff is very nice but the dim sum is bland. Tried 4 different flavors. Some of the flavors didn't seem to have soup inside. The ones they did had bland soup. The meat was flavored just okay. The wrapping of the dumpling was too thick, as well. The ambiance of the restaurant is nothing special and not much was invested in the decor.
We drove 5 hours to try this dim sum for lunch. We were very disappointed 😞. I understand 👍 some customers probably like it and it might please their taste buds. One of the servers were pretty blunt. She was our main server. The other 3 servers we encountered were much better. Food was OK. They could not get our order out fast enough. Restaurant was maybe 🤔 1 third full. They did not even get 2 of our items out before we asked for the ticket. We were not very demanding.
Very disappointing experience for my first time here. They were hosting a massive party, so perhaps there is some leeway in this but the food quality and aesthetic left ALOT to be desired. It could be the case that the chicken and broccoli looked so bland that it tricked my brain, but most food was flavorless. Szechuan Chicken was pretty good and definitely spicy!
Not sure if it was a one time experience but I drove quite a lot to go to this restaurant to try my two favorite items Salted fish friend rice and west lake beef soup. I also ordered salt and pepper squid and ginger beef. All the food lacked salt. The west lake soup didn’t have even black pepper used properly. The salted fish had just plain fish which had bones making it almost not eatable. When shared this with the waitress, she explained that this is how it is supposed to be. I did not argue that salted fish is not just plain unsalted bony fishes. The salt and pepper squid was the only decent item.
