This place is AMAZING! The food is to die for! They say "It's the best Chicago Style pizza this side of Chicago", but I think they could have left the 2nd part of that statement out! In a town with seemingly hundreds of dinning options with dining patrons sparsley sprinkled throughout each, you walk into a place with an hour wait to dine in on a Friday and countless orders going out the door. If you only get one last pizza, make it a Zachary's Chicago Pizza! OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE! MUST TRY!

Wonderful experience getting take out pizzas here - their special and a cheese only. Called ahead ~4 PM on a Friday and in 40 minutes I had eats in hand. Walked from a nearby hotel. Service was fast and friendly at the counter. Got the "thin crust" pizza which is probably more of a "regular crust" thickness you'd get from other pizza places. One of the best tasting pizzas I've had. The leftovers will be gone soon.

Zachary's uses high quality ingredients. I've always noticed the quality in the taste and prep. I dined in recently and notice boxes of Semifreddi's croutons in the kitchen. What restaurant cares about their croutons? I thought this was pretty stellar. The only criticism that I have is that I ordered a cup of coffee after dinner (not expecting anything special, but simply for caffeine delivery). It was nearly in drinkable. It's probably not a common order, but it was clear to me the machine needed to be serviced and, possibly, the beans needed to be refreshed. Service is always spot-on. Great place for the kids and the word search and photo hunt menu is awesome to keep them occupied while waiting on the food.

I love to eat this pizza it's so different from the other kinds because they put the sauce on top of the stuff so it's definitely different it's in a great location and it allows for people to get a quick bite to eat if they order ahead before they go to the movies it's great

I hadn't been to Zachary's in 6 years. When I found out I was going to be at the Toyota pavilion in Concord I adjusted my route to include Zachary's of course. No disappointment. Timely service, happy employees, good food, and cold beer. They're not giving pies away here it's going to cost you more than what you're used to. However, the pizza and service is going to be better than what you're used to. We only had one problem on our visit. We ordered the meatball appetizer and one of the managers ate it. More meatballs were made and we ate them.

The wait was average, the staff was courteous, and the food amazing!!! We visited Zachary's on a Saturday, I APPRECIATED all the Covid precautions and the hostess even went over the CDC guidelines with us. All of the staff was helpful and very nice. The Carne pizza we ordered did not disappoint. Since we ordered before we were seated the wait was not ling at all. The pizza was hot, flavorful, and packed with goodies. We will definitely continue dining here!

Pie was right On! Hit the spot all around inside my mouth friend's ordered vegetable and full on meat pie's... I also ordered my pie put extra kick for Hott in your mouth! Everything was spot on service and more than one server too the table because their was Seven of us so taking the long tables was great fit! So for sit down pizzas 🍕 choices r endless... I've had the Carne deep dish (stuffed) pizza delivered twice from this location and its amazing. The chunky sauce is plentiful and delicious. If you've never had this style of pizza, I highly recommend trying it here.

The thin crust chicken special was outstanding. We also enjoyed the arugula, Fuji apple, with Balsamic drizzle salad. Good beer selection as well.

We came with a party of 14 for a birthday party. The wait was a little long but to be fair, there was the tree lighting event and a double premier showing at the theatre across the street, so they were extremely busy. The manager and hostess were on top of things, giving me updates when possible and extremely nice. Our waiter John was awesome! He was very nice, quick to check on us for refills or extras and provided overall amazing service! The food was on point as always. Great experience as a whole, made the birthday celebration that much better. We will definitely be back soon!

Love the deep dish original spinach mushroom pizza and went to College Ave location lots when I lived in Oakland and for me that will always be my favorite location. Since moving North, I was pleased to hear they opened up in Concord, but the downside to this location is it is hell on a Friday or Saturday night to find parking or to eat in (really noisy). Parking is rough in Oakland too I guess but I Drove around building 5 times before finding spot garage very busy near theater and I just wanted to pick up. Perhaps a handicap pay space near front and a pick up lane ? Staff was great as always and pizza was delish and they followed my request for foil lined bottom on cardboard. Great company love employee owned!

Had Zach’s awhile back and could not stop thinking about it, we drove 1hr to come back and this time sat down to eat and the service was phenomenal. We had the meatball appetizer and it was sooo good nice and hot and the sauce was so good, we got a simple deep dish pepperoni and it came out piping hot and was delicious. We overestimated how much we could eat and got the large when we both only finished one piece. Highly Recommend!!

High quality ingredients / fantastic pizza. Not 'froofy' gourmet stuff - although I like that, too, sometimes. But great thin crust, and even better deep dish (stuffed), which is almost like a lasagne. Great staff, too. OH -- rotating beers on tap, too, including two of my faves -- Fieldwork IPAs and Racer 5.

This was our first time at Zachary's. We ordered the thin crust, and our friends ordered the thick crust so we could share. Really good pizza! It's more pricey, but heats up the next day great.

I came here for the first time in a few years and it is much like I remember, which is a good thing. The Chicago deep dish pizza is really good, the only con is the amount of time it takes to cook after you order, around 40 minutes. You may want to look at the menu with your family beforehand so you can get the order in quickly. I'd suggest grabbing appetizers otherwise. But the deep dish is really hearty and filling. It's hard to eat more than a two slices on a large. I love the Zachary's Special but try others. They have thin crust pizza if you can't wait for a deep dish.

The other night, I phoned in an order for 2 seep dish pizzas. When I came to pick them up, only one was on the order. I explained that i had been told the total cost and she had read back the order, and yet, there was only one pizza. The associate helping me suggested I order a thin crust medium and they would put a rush in for it....and didn't charge me for it. I really wanted a deep dish, but so appreciated the offer, and his efforts to make my order right. I'm sorry I didn't get his name, but he was right in line with what I've come to expect from Zachary's and their excellent customer service. Bravi!!

I got takeout from this place, but I wish I had eaten at the restaurant since the vibe of it seems pretty nice. The food was delicious, and it was my first time trying Chicago pizza and I really enjoy it, just be careful when you eat because you can get messy. I definitely recommend this place to any one.

Amazing every time. I do wish they had more allergy options for the GF pizza but overall worth it and the family atmosphere is perfect. I love that they have rules of engagement for their customers and I hope it's a reflection of respect for their staff. So wonderful to see an establishment that cares about its employees experience.

Absolutely loved the pizza bought from here. The cheese pizza is so cheesy. The other pizza was artichoke hearts, mushroom and tomatoes thin crust. Love how crispy the crust was and the flavors of the sauce and veggies on top.

Ordered for pickup and got the deep dish spinach mushroom pizza. Crust tasted delicious, not thick and doughy. Price wise on the high side but pizza was really tasty.

When you have Zacharys Pizza there is no comparison. The pizza is crisp, creamy, and filling. The prices are reasonable and one large Chicago style pizza is enough for 2 dinners for a family of 3. The staff was very friendly and inviting and food wait time is typical for a pizza made to order but I love that you can call to order ahead of time. The only piece of feedback I can give is to have people walk the floor for refills or any other requests since its at times needed to flag someone down. Overall Zacharys is clean, friendly, and most of all the best pizza around!

We had a good time. Ordered pizza before you sit so that Pizza is already cooking. A couple beers, salad, 2 pizzas over 120 so a little expensive. Deep dish Pizza was delightful. Outside seating was ok. Server had Pretty Pink hair and did well. Good Service

It's a comfy place with delicious stuffed deep dish pizza. The thin crust is also very good. My daughter enjoys the pesto and chicken thin crust pizza. We also enjoy their beer and wine selection. The staff is friendly and attentive. We also like to order the meat balls and Caesar salad. They're the best in the area. Are you a Blue Line or Zachary's fan? It's hard to say, they are both delicious!

The special butternut squash is my fav forever! You can also add extra ingredients. I took this one half-baked at home. It was just perfect!

My first visit to Zachary's and will be back again when I'm in the area. Five locations in the bay area. Perfect mix of crust, sauce and cheese on the Chicago style. It does take a little while to prepare/cook so don't be in a rush when you're dining in. Looks like the best strategy is to order online before you arrive to dine in.

Zachary's is a singular experience. Really good food. Even their regular flat pizza is a treat but their deep dish pie spectacular. The spinach and mushroom deep dish is their flagship offering and I find if you add pepperoni it really puts it over the top. Deep dish takes about 45 mins too cook but you can place your order by phone before you leave the house if time is an issue. They also offer half cooked take home orders you can finish up in your own oven. I. Love. Zachary's.

If you like deep dish pizza then this is the place to go. It’s my all time favorite pizzeria in the Bay Area. It’s VERY filling so you probably want to order a size down than a typical pizza place. Also, if you plan to pick up for table out be sure to ask for the half baked version. Set your oven to 450, butter a sheet pan (don’t skip this), slide the pizza or of the box and onto your buttered pan and you’ll have a perfectly hot pizza in 15 mins. No more cold pizza!

Just want to give a special shout out to the manager, Darron. I get a pizza there once a week, on VIP Mondays when you can get 15% off, and this guy sure treats me like a VIP! I switched from thin crust to deep dish after about a year, and he called to make sure that they got the order right, and called again to make sure they would get my pizza right when I gave some special instructions. I think he even called me once to make sure I didn't forget to order on the VIP Monday! And the pizza is of course delicious and a great deal, so how can you go wrong?!?

Right after watching Karate Kid at the movie theatre in Pleasant Hill, California. My daughter and I decided to have pizza at Zachary's, which is located right across the theatre. It was full house when we got in with 3 to 4 people in line ahead of us. They have an array of employees. We were seated right away. The person taking our order said our pizza would be ready in 20 minutes, and it did, I was timing them. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is very quick and very attentive toward their guests. The place is beautiful and neat. After eating your pizza, they even give you lollipops, even if you don't have kids dining with you. Part of a small local chain, Zachary's has some of the best pizza in the area. And the crust is nice and thick, so it makes a far more substantial meal than many of the national chains. This was my first time to this location. It has the same great pizza as Berkeley, but a much more upscale vibe.

Everyone has their own personal preferences when it comes to pizza. Some like thick, thin or any of 1000 crust options. The one thing we can all agree on is that if you have great ingredients, it will be a good pizza. That is exactly what we get from Zachary's, fresh and tasty ingredients that create a beautiful pie served fresh and hot! It may not be your favorite style but it is undeniably good. Lucky for me, it IS my favorite and people, I enjoyed every bite. I loved the heaping amount of cheese, the fresh sausage and sauce that had amazing flavor. The venue is nice, clean and service is fast and friendly. I will definitely come back whenever I am in the area.

When were home and want pizza we take the 20 min drive to get Zachary's. Every now and then someone will mess up on the toppings for our to go order, but otherwise the pizza is constantly delicious. The restaurant is clean (including the bathroom), they have excellent customer service, great ambiance with a welcoming environment for all.

Update 4 stars : From the time you sit down to the time someone comes to help you is almost 15/20 mins. Watching others get sat after us and their orders taken is somewhat annoying as the pizzas can take a good deal to cook. Some people do need time to look at a menu. Some are returning customers and don’t. We don’t need to look at the menu and wait 15 for help. We just want to order now. Old review 5 stars: I can’t believe it took us 3 years to finally eat here a now it’s my fav place. The Staff are epic! Friendly and fast! We had both lunch an dinner here almost back to back an the quality of service didn’t change. I dislike tomato’s so both times I ordered with the olive herb oil on top of my stuffed pizza. Zackarys is one of my favorite spots for Chicago style pizza. I would give a five star but the price is quite steep, even though it is very filling! Very happy I went and would definitely recommend it!

Really nice staff and servers. Pizza was good and the wait was reasonable. I didn't like the pizza so much to give it a five star. But the experience was really closer to 4.5. The portions were great. A small thin crust is more than enough for two.

Always consistent, hot and so fresh. Unlike its local competitor wannabes in the East Bay, Zachary's understands that quality is equivalent to consistency, not just in the first months of opening. If you're a beer person, the rotating selection of Fieldwork brews at this Pleasant Hill location are also perfect pairings to the pie of your choice. Wonderful, wonderful pizza experience.

Really good pizza and deep dish. Vegetarian options are slim but all pizzas can be modified. I did a Zachary's special with no sausage, which came out cheaper than building your own for the same ingredients. No kids menu so small cheese is your best bet, but be prepared for leftovers. Of course, cooking times are a little longer than most New York style pizza, but it's worth the wait.

Zachary’s Chicago Pizza serves delicious stuffed, deep dish and thin crust Pizzas. We visited their Pizza Parlor and Bar at Pleasant Hill and relished their Oakland United Pilsner Draft Beer and Lemonade for drinks with their Medium Stuffed Super Veggie Pizza. Their Pizza was fresh, well cooked with choice of vegetables and delicious. Their staff are great and helpful.

This restaurant is very nonveniently located in Pleasant hill downtown area with lots of open and free parking near by. It is always crowded so its better to book reservations in advance otherwise you might have to wait for couple of mons before you get the table. Food is good here. We tried stuffed barbecue chicken and thin super veggie pizza. We didn't like the barbecue chicken pizza, it was a bit sweet in taste. The super veggie pizza was good. Will try some other pizzas next time. There are some sides too which are available on weekend only and we were not aware about that. Will try other thing next time. The rates are definitely on the higher side.

This place is know for its big stuffed thick pizzas, but the thin slices are good as well. One is almost big enough for 2 people. service can be friendly, but not always.

I'm a native Chicagoan and have a very high standard for pizza. Zachary's in the Bay Area does a fair representation of Chicago style deep dish. Not great, but decent. By California pizza standards it is excellent. The biggest obstacle is that the water is too hard in the Bay Area for good pizza crust.

I kept wanting to add salt or pepper to it or red peppers or something to give it some flavor. It's too bad they don't have spinach or broccoli (or both) as side options to add. You can order specialty pieces with them on it, but you have to order the pizza the way they make it - you can't just order them as optional sides to build your own. Why?? They offer spinach and mushroom, but I don't like mushrooms, and that's not really typical Chicago. So...

Nice place. Great ambience. Good service. The personal pizza was disappointing. It was a frozen kids pizza warmed up and smothered in sauce. I watched as customers walked by with big slices of pizza on thier plates and wondered why I had ordered this. We asked the waiter if this is what he would ordered and he agreed. I didn't expect a great Chicago pizza but this was not even close. Next time I am ordering a slice instead.

The crust was right on point along with the toppings. Only thing that didn't do it for me was the sauce. For me especially on a deep dish it has to be full of flavor and not just another topping. The sauce makes or breaks the pizza. They fo have some good choices for styles and toppings overall. Nice friendly service. Don't be in a rush if you go as the deep dish takes a bit, as expected. Overall a good spot but just not for me.

The pizza was very tasty. I just really wish they would do something daily for the veterans. It really means a lot to me as well as many other vets, when they are honored. I feel like there wouldn't be an American without her Veterans.

It's no Giordano's for sure. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. Ordered the Carne deep dish, expecting lots of meat. Instead it was mostly big chunks of tomato with what appeared to be shavings and small pieces of meat. Very, very slim on meat and heavy on tomatoes. Had to pick them off just to be able to eat it. Also pretty slim on cheese. If this had been my first deep dish I'd be turned off and go back to NY style. Service was great and the beer was real good though.

Usually their pizza is tasty and such, but yesterday they didn’t live up to the hype. Ordered deep dish mushrooms & spinach and they were nonexistent, sadly. We basically ate dough & sauce. The salads we ordered were good though. Cesar and one with Gorgonzola. And our server was wonderful. Would come again, maybe, but not sure what I’d order.

Ceasar salad is really good but the main thing we ordered is the deep dish pizza. The crust was so hard and burnt. The toppings were all tomatoes, you would thought its the meat. It is our first time to have a Chicago dish deep and unfortunately it disappointed us. Will stick to our favorite new york pizza. Even the cheap pizzas in new york tasted better.

Really don't understand the hype behind this place. Decent deep dish but gets monotonous after a point because of the overwhelming singular flavor in the pie. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? I dunno, but not a big fan of this style.

My husband and I ate here yesterday for the first time.. very disappointing experience, we ordered a medium deep dish pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms.. more sauce than anything else.. should have ordered a small, the leftovers we took home just went in the garbage disposal.. and my husband kept asking me if I felt funny after eating that pizza, he was sick the next day ( I didn't eat as much as he did)..we won't be going back anytime soon..

I think our pizza sat on the counter for awhile. We ordered drinks, had to wait and wait, finally ask where they were. Then waited 40 min for deep dish, finally asked where it was… she brought it right out and it was cold. I’ve been here before and the pizza was great usually the cheese is so gooey and delish. Ordered online. Pizzas were delivered upside down. $150 worth of pizzas ruined. Manager at restaurant could care less. Could have been an easy solution for them to resend. Not ordering from here ever again.

The thin crust Zachary’s Special pizza looked great on pictures, but actually tastes like a pre-made pizza crust! Really expected more for $35.. Hard and dry. Will not be ordering again.

We were there at 3 pm Today (Saturday ) we orders large pizza , half chicken special and half Spinsh and mushroom we waited exactly 1hour and 5 min people next to our table got pizza before us even they came 15 min later then us . So after waiting long time we got pizza your couldn’t tell which half is vegi and which half is spinsh and Mushroom So I look for my server she wasn’t around some one else came so I ask her would you tell me which half is vegi and which half is with chicken , she said let me get the manager because she couldn’t tell either . So Mr manager show up and start digging our pizza he was thinking we will eat that after he start digging your food to look for chicken pieces because even he couldn’t tell what is what . So we offed 2 of 16 oz beer so I just left $40 and leave because I just count stand for the services we received and it was our first time and last time .

Boyfriend said he'd heard great things about this place so since it was on our way home, we decided to give it a try. We ordered a ceasar salad, a thin "Zachary's special" pizza and 2 IPAs. Ceasar salad had ZERO flavor. The dressing tasted watered down, definitely not worth the $14. I was really excited about pizza after reading all the reviews, but pizza was nothing to write home about either. Maybe they're famous for their deep dish?! I dont know, but our pizza was mediocre at best. Service was "meh". I had to get up and ask for a to-go box and our bill. Would I come here again? Nah.
