Great and affordable food. Got the carne asada burrito and all I can say is wow! Service was great.
One word to describe everything about Two Amigos: FLAVOR! Each item on the menu is full of unique blends of magic spices that are added to each dish. Fresh hot & spicy sauces if you want some extra kick Hot & Really Hot are your new best friends! 🥵 Carne Asada Street Tacos rock my world every time! There are so many variations! Located off a street that can get busy, I recommend that you park on the adjacent streets and walk the extra 5 steps to get to the front door. I was chatting with the owner while waiting for my food, evidently Two Amigos has been a staple in the Waxahachie Historic district for over 20 years! & only recently did they move up a block into this new building to add extra seating. The tables are placed closer together to give you a more authentic Latin family experience. So even with the larger building and more seats, The place hasn’t lost the old warm, family feeling and the primary focus remains the delicious food. Shout out to the homemade tortilla chips and the Hot & Very Hot Sauce! Made fresh every morning
This was a great stop. The food was so good and definitely home made. Our family had the 3 enchilada plate, taco plates, and the carne asada plate plus chips and queso. Everything was on point! Our server was wonderful too.
Nice restaurant in downtown Waxahachie. Tx. Breakfast is served all day. Plenty of Tex Mex dishes to choose from for lunch & dinner. Closes at 9p daily. Everything is fresh @ delicious. They also serve homemade flour tortillas.
I've been coming to this place for years. This is my favorite place to get a burrito. Not only is this burrito huge, it's delicious. Stuffed with beef fajitas, rice, beans, onions, lettuce, and tomato. Both the red and green salsas are delicious. I tend to use both, while the red is a bit more spicy. I do favor the green. The customer service is always nice, and the place is well-kept and clean.
Food has changed since it was relocated to bigger location. Service went down a couple stars as well. 8/17/23 today was Back to the Future! Order dine in and the food was great!! I Had the cheese enchilada special with rice and beans. It was fantastic! Wife had the 3 taco plate special and she was excited that the spices POP this time! My daughter had the barabacoa burrito and was full of spices. !!!! Good old days. Thanks 😊 Will come back again, sooner this time.
Food and service was excellent and we enjoyed ourselves very much! Cheese queso was exceptional as well as both red and green salsas. Chips were freshly cooked which made all the difference! Portions are extremely generous! I took more than half of my plate home to eat later since I had filled up on chips, salsa and queso! This is definitely on my to-go place for Mexican food!
We went in for an early dinner. Place was pretty empty. We got greeted right away. The waitress brought chips and dip immediately. She was knowledgeable about the menu and gave recommendations. On my torta she had the chief mix the meats because I could not decide between the BBQ and pork. The chips were fresh and good. The meat in all the food was tender and flavorful. Taco tortillas were fresh and the bread was nice and soft. Second time there was even better than the first. Went there for wife's bday and they gave 30% off
Second time visiting, this time the girl at the host stand was rude, but her coworker did her job with a smile. The breakfast burritos are very large thanks to a huge scratch made tortilla. They don't close the ends and you add cheese for .50 cents more. The filling was lukewarm on it, but the tortilla is soft and the eggs were not overcooked. Its on a one way street with no parking lot in front. Also, do not trip on the raised area heading into the building, I did...yikes. Decent food, the breakfast tacos are certainly what I'd choose just because of size and they were hot. Reasonable pricing. Midrange customer service. Beware of people standing in the entrance of the restaurant because the host stand is right in the door and the place to pay out is there too, so not a lot of room.
Really economical dishes & you will most likely have leftovers because one burrito is pretty large! I love the fact that they serve breakfast all day. I got the eggs, potato, and chorizo burrito, which was good, but I found it to be rather dry & the tortilla was really thick. The salsas were good, though. Our server was really nice and attentive as well. Really cozy and casual vibe & if I were to come here again I would opt for tacos or other dishes that aren’t the burrito.
Was really looking forward to eating here based on the reviews. Did we come on an off day? The food was okay, but the nachos ordered was a very small nacho, basically one layer of chips with chicken and cheese, and then some lettuce, pico and sour cream and guac on the side. The 2 enchiladas plate bean and cheese with rice and beans , the enchiladas were tiny, some of the smallest I have ever seen served. And for some reason potatoes instead of beans were served. The burrito was big but it had no cheese and was very dry. And with only 2 tables occupied we expected better service and it was low energy. So disappointing and doubt we will return when the are other choices in the area. Maybe an off day, but....
Place is pretty good. Fair price, friendly service. I bought 2 breakfast tacos. They had decent flavor but the flour tortillas were thivk and very hard on the edges and overall were tough. Barbacoa taco was good, chorizo taco was decent. Salsa is good but hot..be careful.
The food was good not the best but it was good. Atmosphere needs HELP. Way too small. If you’re a mom with a baby go ahead and find somewhere else to eat because the tables might as well all be touching. There’s no room for an infant car seat to sit also very hard to breastfeed if needed. The service is slow in my opinion could and should be a lot better!!! Parking is a nightmare, good luck.
This was our first time here, and unfortunately it was disappointing. The food was clearly microwaved—you can actually see the cooks heating dishes in the microwave from the dining area. There was only one waitress working, so she was overwhelmed, and the hostess didn’t step in to help at all. The food tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier and reheated, and everything was very overpriced for the quality.
We have been eating here for a good while. Last 3-4 times, the food was not great. Tortillas were hard, we both requested crispy bacon. We received chewy bacon, for 4 pieces of bacon, the cost was over $7.00. The staff just stands in a group talking every single time we have gone recently. I used to recommend this place and wouldn't mind how expensive it is now, if we received quality food and service. It's hard to justify $50 for two at breakfast!! Not sure I can try again, the waitresses don't care to fix any problems. Makes us sad!!!
We came here because of the 4.4 star rating and had high hopes, but this was honestly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. The service was completely disorganized. Our server brought out our tacos saying, “I don’t know which one is which, sorry.” We ordered six and only five came out. When we pointed it out, two different servers stood there trying to figure out which taco was missing, neither of them knew. The food was just bad. The queso tasted canned, the chips weren’t warm, and the steak tips were extremely dry, chewy, and had zero seasoning. One taco was supposed to have ranchero sauce but didn’t, and they initially tried to charge us extra for it, even though it should’ve come on the taco. The food was so dry we barely ate it. When we complained, they offered to “warm it up.” They removed one taco at first, and only after we asked again did the server call the manager and agree to remove a second taco. We still paid over $18 for basically a few bites of food. It’s a shame for a taqueria to serve food like this. If you’re craving tacos, I’d suggest going somewhere else and learning from our experience.
Been a few times, now the last. Service is horrible. Had to ask for everything (drinks, menus, salsa, silverware). Tortillas are always burnt and taste like you’re eating a paper plate. The waitresses treat you like you’re a burden
Wasn’t going to say nothing but it’s bothering me! My child went into 2 Amigos restaurant today for an interview and was ignored by the owner. He asked her and another guy standing next to her, what were they there for. She stated she was there for an interview and the guy stated he was there to dine in. The owner proceeded to walk off (not addressing my daughter about her interview) but the other guy that was there to dine in,stopped the owner and told him “she said she’s here for an interview”. The owner then walked off and sent someone else out to tell my daughter she needs to reschedule her interview because he’s busy ! I’m not one to ever be quick to pull the race card but what else could it be ? Her friend (who is also a black teen) went in this week for an interview but the owner told her he couldn’t interview her because he had an interview this weekend (which was my daughter). I’ll never spend another dime there!!!!
This establishment has no idea what ADA federal guidelines are. As a public entity you're obligated to for your patrons...... I walked in with my service dog and they asked me for certification. After I told them that they are not allowed to ask that. Another person came and demanded the same thing and then the owner came and I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE IF I COULDN'T PROVIDE CERTIFICATION FOR MY SERVICE ANIMAL. I sat at my table finally after arguing with them and recording. After I started recording the owner changed his tune...... We were still treated disrespectfully by sitting at a table with no silverware. No menu until I had to ask This place is a horrible place. I will never go back to it. I gave them the opportunity to put a sign that said service animals welcome and instead they put "We refuse the right to serve anyone". How rich! The food wasn't even that good either. Surprised this place is still in business. Go somewhere else. Mi casa Mexican food is way better.
We walked in and stood next to the sign saying wait to be seated for a few minutes and then finally the girl got up from a table and said to seat ourselves. Chips were like chewing rocks, ordered beef fajita tacos and that’s all that was on the burnt tortilla just the beef. Except the one that was incorrect and had chicken. Upon leaving the rude lady with the heart tattoo said well did you tell your server? Well no bc she never came back to the table. And then She just argued as I was asking for my change. I would not recommend. The building is cool I’ll give them that but you can eat the building.
The customer service is decent. We always call in an order but tonight was the worst treatment every. First the lady ask to put me on hold and forgot about me on the phone. So I called back the lady answered as I'm placing my orders but mid order I did ask questions about two of the meals. I'm assuming it was to overwhelming for her , so she had to ask another lady about what I had asked next thing I know she hangs up on me. I feel in my heart to be understanding they are probably busy seeing I myself have worked in the food industry for many years. I attempted to call back two more time with no luck of an answer .The amount of time we have visited we still love the food and we have never questioned the random food prices up charge we got when we paid with cash its always a little more than paying woth card. But the customer service has really done it for us. So tonight I treated my family to a different food restaurant because of this experience. Sadly its a lost of $ for them. Its better sweet for us cause like i said before we love the food. But how the customer is treated does matter.
