We have enjoyed straight up five star across the board service here in Waxahachie, TX for over seven years. We enjoyed our delicious dinner here on April 15, 2025. Our server, Skylar, was attentive, courteous, & very friendly. We also ordered a to go dinner for our daughter who was waiting for her dinner order in her car outside of our restaurant. Skylar, graciously offered to take my daughter’s to go dinner to her car outside at our restaurant parking to her due to her physical limitations. Our dining & take out experience was excellent & very customer friendly.

We came yesterday for lunch after church. Emeri F. was our server and she was the absolute best! She’s one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere. The food was good too but she’s the reason for the 5 stars! She was so sweet, willing to go above and beyond, wonderful personality and continuously had a smile on her face. She made our lunch with the family enjoyable. Give Emeri a raise…she is AMAZING!

Its a funny story how i found this place. So there i was working on a job, drilling, digging, you know, real man work. It was hot and sweaty out there, i was looking at the equipment when a very friendly cat strolled by. It wanted me to pet it, i know it did...there was something in its eyes that begged for attention. So of course i stopped what i was doing and picked the cat up. Since a construction site is no place for a cat thats not wearing a safety vest, i decided it could share mine while i worked, so i stuffed it in my shirt for "its safety." A few seconds into drilling, i guess the cat decided that it no longer wanted to work in the construction industry; so it turned in its 2 week notice the only way it knew how to. In all the scrambling to escape, my favorite cotton shirt got torn, so i made a google search.....which led me to a very pleasant lunch....

I came here to have a nice lunch by myself to celebrate turning 39. I sat at the bar and that us an experience in itself. It was neat to see the back of house and front of house interact seamlessly. I loved this little place!! Never even heard of it until I visited my friend last month! Very cozy atmosphere and the staff was super friendly! I ordered the Smoked Brisket Street Tacos and omgosh why have I never had brisket on tacos before?!?! Talk about brilliant!! Went here 3 times last week. Got the soup and salad combo. The chicken and dumping soup was excellent, and the cobb salad also wonderful. Everything was fresh, plenty of homemade dressings available, and the rolls are delicious. The Cotton Patch Cafes are spread out throughout the suburbs of Dallas. Really impressed with the quality of food and the great service I got there

The food was comparable, if not better, than Mansfield or any other location. Biggest difference being.... large portion! The staff was great, atmosphere was great, food was deeeeeelicios! Shout out to our waitress, Mak and her trainee who were attentive but not overbearing. HUGE thumbs up! 👍👍

The 5 star review was based almost solely on our server! Mak, escalated our dining experience exponentially. The food and atmosphere were pretty consistent with what we’ve come to expect at Cotton Patch over the last few years, but Mak is definitely the exception. She was attentive but not annoying. She was quick to address any request. She refilled without being asked. For a couple in their 50s, who eats out regularly, she was the best food service worker we’ve had in at least a year.

Cotton Patch reminds me of the great Chicken Fried Chicken meals my family had at the Black-eyed Pea restaurants 40 years ago. The crispy chicken was well done, smothered in white gravy, awesome. The baked squash casserole is the best I've had in decades. The only downside was the rolls were a bit doughy, but they were warm and tasted fine. And if you haven't had Peach Cobbler in Texas during peach season, you are missing a true delight. The service was excellent, and my server knew how to speed things along. The atmosphere was very good. The music was just loud enough to drown out conversations and remain enjoyable without being too loud. If you remember great home cooking restaurants of the past, I think you'll find this Cotton Patch a pleasant surprise.

My grandson and I visited this cafe on January 2. The place got filled at after we arrived. It was shift change and some of the employees hadn’t arrived but the ones who were there were friendly and professional. We had a wait but in sure that was the case in most if not all restaurants in town. We waited and our wait was well worth the wait. I had a bowl of tomato soup and grandson Sam had a burger. My soup was amaze. I’m a tomato soup snob and I’ve never tasted a soup like this. I loved it. Of course Sam really enjoyed his burger.

My family and I were out and about for the day and really needed some food and this place was in our area. My mom's fish was flavourless but since she's on a diet she said it was a sign from God 🤣. I had the chicken fried chicken with 3 sides that were small enough to consume in one bite😒 The margaritas tasted like a Canadian made Kool-aid for the first time😂 (jk. I love Canadians) My daughter looked at her food and decided to eat ketchup instead🤣 Our waitress was really nice though. Super sweet. I'm not going back to this location. Not a very good visit. There were 5 of us. We were seated quickly however the person doing the seating seemed very unorganized and scattered. Our waitress was very nice and pleasant. When we ordered our drinks some of us got different flavored teas most of them un sweet, they all came sweet. She quickly fixed the problem. She said someone had put sweet tea where the unsweetened went. When our food came out, brought by someone different all of our orders where wrong. There were even thing we did not get. Over cooked steak and missing baked potatoes. The tables across from us were have similar problems, even getting food that they didn't order. They were bringing out potatoes to tables that had ordered long after we did but we never got ours. After being there for about an hour we had ate what was served and left without ever getting the potatoes. The manager did take some off the bill without us haveing requesting it. Who ever is running the kitchen needs to learn how to run it. Everything was cooked well done when it was ordered rare. Slow cooks who can't follow or read an order ticket. I feel sorry for our waitress, she was trying to make things right with no help from the kitchen. Parents not being Parents letting their kids kick and pound on the tables and booth seats.

I have been to the cotton patch in Arlington and I must say now 2 places are a like. The waitress was very nice but the food was horrible the rolls was not done. And I paid 14 .99 for a small piece of chicken fried chicken . I will never go back only the Arlington location for me

Oh boy where do start. Order cornbread skillet never got it no explanation Bread roll had a baked fly in it no apology or fresh ones. Country fried steak steak wasn’t fresh. We usually dine in, but we did take out tonight and it was horrible. The order was received at 8:53 PM (see picture). We ordered online and arrived at 9:22 PM. Once we arrived we were told that the order would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. They did not give us even part of our order until 10:20 PM. Most of the food had run out and they didn't inform us until an hour later of waiting when we had to ask where the other items in our order were. There was also multiple people who came in and out to pick up their orders after us while we were waiting for that hour. We tried to get a refund, but our phone died and they just pushed us to get the refund from the cooperate office. We just took what little they gave us and just left because we just wanted to get out of there. Horrible take out experience. You've been warned.

Ordered thru DoorDash the chicken fingers…sweet chili flavor with ranch dipping sauce…fries, shrimp. . No sweet chili flavor or ranch dipping sauce. Food was cold. Considering prices on DD are a little more you’d think I’d get what I ordered!! Never again!

I’m not usually one to leave negative reviews, I always try to be understanding. But today, my family and I decided to dine in at Cotton Patch and had a bit of a disappointing experience. We were greeted warmly, and the hostess seated us right away, which was great. But after we sat down, we waited about 10 minutes without anyone stopping by to take our drink order. A few minutes later, a new table was seated behind us, and the server walked right past us to take their order instead. I walked over to ask if someone was going to take care of our table, but it seemed like no one really had an answer. At that point, we just decided to leave. As we were walking out, at least someone said goodbye, so I guess it just wasn’t our day, or maybe it wasn’t the place for us. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Very disappointed. The young waiter acted like we was disturbing him and had to set my glass on edge of table and waited awhile to have it refilled. The chicken fried steak was sad and small 1/3rd of it was breading and asked the waiter about it and all there steaks are measured and then beaded after the cooked and walked off. When he would finally check on us he would walk up to table and stand there staring at us without saying anything. And he kept questioning that my son wanted all you can eat fish and they brought it out with 3 small pieces of fish.

We love our cotton patch but here lately I order the same chicken and dumplings and it’s always cold and the chicken hard as a rock. I would love to go one more time and see if the chicken and dumplings are back to hot and hardy. If not I probably won’t come back. For the most part employees are awesome , but the last time my family was there , 8 think the waitress might have had a bad day and took it out on us. Please fix.

Man i can't believe this place the last 3 times been on here first chicken fried chicken was not cook all the way the waitress told me I should sue cotton patch second got a steak the waitress said they have the best cook for steak what s joke and today thought patch had the best mashed potatoes but not today had a different taste the waitress was the best very friendly fell like I am being targeted by this store think this will be my last time eating here

I ordered via Cotton Patch website. The gps to the driver took my order to the wrong place. Our order arrived an hour late and cold. When I called the “manager” Asia/Deysha she argued with me about contacting DoorDash. I explained to her that I had already called DoorDash and that they told me to contact the restaurant. She argued with me, raised her voice and wouldn’t give me her name. Very ghetto and unprofessional. She hung up on me. When I tried to call back, she refused to answer the phone. She needs to be fired for being unprofessional and very combative with customers. An apology would be nice. Won’t be going back especially that location after how we were talked too

This was my family’s second time coming to this location… 2 adults 3kids. 2kids under the age of 7 that were hungry and thirsty and we were never greeted. Then to witness two servers argue over a larger party that came in AFTER us was truly upsetting!!!! Several servers just standing around, no one said hi other than the host! No one smiled at us no one even acknowledged us! Never again!!!!

Today was very disappointing. I ordered the chicken fried steak. Meat wasn’t tenderized and very tough. Broccoli and rice casserole was delicious. I will stick to my go to meal chicken fried chicken. $15 wasted….
