More people need to discover this little restaurant! The owner is super sweet, the chef is hilarious and makes great food, and the servers are very nice and attentive. It's our family's favorite restaurant.
Good food, reasonably priced, decent portion size and good ambience (if you manage to get a booth). Thoroughly enjoyed the cooked sushi options. The only downside was the wait time. We had a reservation and was seated immediately. However, it took around 45 minutes for just two rolls. They did apologize for the delay. Hoping that it's just an one-off. We hope to come back again! Another notable mention is their menu that has cooked vs. raw sushi called out very clearly along with stating what is in vs. out. It was very helpful for us.
Very authentic! I lived in Japan for 10 years. I own a Japanese food truck. I was here on a business trip and ate here last night and couldn’t wait to come back another night! The flavors are so delicious! I can’t say enough!!!
Service is outstanding! Sashimi was fresh and massive pieces I got Hamachi, Tuna, and Salmon! Also, had the Climaxe Roll it was spicy and delicious! Portions here are amazing! Can't wait to visit again!
Best Sushi in the Bay Area. I try something new every time and haven't been disappointed. My kids love it and the owner is super nice, she always stops by to chat with us. Ume mixes a small town restaurant feel with professional quality.
Service is fast for starters I had the miso soup which had so much flavor and got me excited for the rest. The seaweed salad is the best I've ever tasted it's had a pickled carrot on top which gave it some acidity. The Love Love roll is packed with flavor also. Everything tastes so fresh.
I knew that any sushi restaurant in the SF Bay Area would be pricey. So I picked this restaurant because of its food and atmosphere. The owners were friendly and appreciative. I ordered the chirashizushi bowl. It was delicious, fresh & generous cuts of sashimi.
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in town. Their fish is incredibly fresh and the rolls are so well put together. Their kani nigiri is 🤌🏻 and service is great as well. Even the orders are plated beautifully when you order takeout. Highly recommend this place
The most friendly and warm people here; always with a smile and being kind with our baby. Is our 3 year eating here and I don’t plan on changing it. We normally ate the lunch special, and it has a little bit of everything, i tried the same in other places and this is the best one!
Yup this place is great! We ordered to go due the current COVID 19 pandemic. Our order was ready on time as quoted and super fresh. The Harry Potter roll was fun with the fried potato, the Hot Pleasanton was fire and the Gourmet Sushi & Sashimi was amazing. The pick up process had everyone at safe distances and the Chefs all said hello when anyone entered. You need to stop by here!
(Review during pandemic, takeout only) This corner location is really hard to see from the street so I'm glad I found this place. Comparing to other sushi places in the Hopyard-ish area (Sendo, Sozo), it's pretty decent. The hamachi kama is really fresh. I like how they did their softshell crabs. It's not overly fried or baked. The quality overall is pretty decent.
I very much enjoy the hospitality, the food, and the decor. The staff are very nice and make sure that you feel welcomed
Great experience for our dinner last night... Great Food, Service and decor. Will definitely be back. (Soon)
8/4/25 Godzilla! w spicy crab meat. Tame but VERY good Inside avocado and crab nicely chilled. Not many do that. Love it when the avocado is nice and cold as a contrast Partner has orange blossom and we got edamame. Lot of good food but could use some more visitors. Update, Godzilla! Spicy enough to make my forehead sweat. Not so tame after all Safety note. The lighting really sucks and you should keep your eyes down towards the ground because you might just slip off the curb like I did and I ended up with a bruised hand and a bruised knee. Fortunately I work out so I have a lot of muscle in the palm and didn't break that area which apparently is easy to do. The shopping center needs to put safety tape or safety whatever at the curbside just to alert people at night Second time in two months. Love this place. Tonight having the teriyaki tofu with soup, salad, and rice. Cubes of silky tofu on a bed of lettuce and shredded cabbage with vegetables. The vegetable tempura appetizer plate was perfect and lasted only a few minutes. Partner had the cherry blossom. Yummy! Great service. VERY clean restaurant. Tucked away in the corner of strip mall near the Round Table Pizza. Dining area in back big enough for a team lunch or dinner Nov 9 Cherry Blossom, Green Dragon Roll with heart healthy shrimp and avocado, vegetable tempura, miso soup.
Our "Go To" place. What a gem. The service is fabulous and oh so friendly! Sean and Young (and their staff) has taken care of us for over 10 years, serving the best quality pieces of sushi... sashimi, nigiri, rolls... live their udon soups and items off the grill too!! A absolute gem!
A awesome little hole in wall. Staff was nice. Food was awesome very authentic. Only thing was rude door dash drivers and Uber eats massing up the atmosphere. Overall good
First time ordering from here. Really good food. Sushi rolls tasted fresh and were really grate. Would recommend this place. Was greeted and welcomed coming in the restaurant. For being the first time here I’m happy with the service and food.
Loved the experience, great quality, fresh fishes, highly recommended!
The booths are very uncomfortable as the back rest is set extremely far back; you will have to lean forward with no back support the entire meal if you opt for the booth. Very friendly staff and the food was very good. They gave us a free, small pineapple desert as well! A great experience, will come again
The lady who owns it is filled with joy. Service was excellent. We enjoyed all the rolls except volcano roll has too much fried batter. Loved the entire meal; trying new things.
Popped into this restaurant tonight. New to the area was looking for a place to eat. Found this little jewel of a place. Restaurant was clean, service fast, and food exceptional. I would definitely return. Roll was off the chain! Use Land roll! Delicious!
Was in town for a conference and was in the mood for something good after a day of light snacks and salads. Loved my bento box and the perfect tempura👌😃 wonderful service too!
Nice stop for getting fresh and delicious sushi. Not crowded at all. Quick service, the waitress was very polite. Spacious place with plenty of tables. Big veriety of meals.
My first time there however it won't be the last it was amazing delicious sushi and bento boxes

Food was great and the staff was so friendly and hospitable! Very friendly to our children as well!
One of our favorite local sushi places! Always fresh, good sushi, and good vibes. 🍣 Last time we went it was deserted. Support local businesses!
Food was excellent. I became fatter because of this food and I do not regret it. Servers were wonderful as well. 10/10 Absolute Cinema would recommend.
Very impressed. I'm a bit of a sushi connoisseur. I travel for work and usually find the highest rated sushi restaurant in each town I visit. While this wasn't the highest rated, it was walking distance from my hotel and convenience won out. I wasn't expecting much from a strip mall sushi restaurant, but the quality ended up being on par with some of the higher-end places I've been to. The fish was very fresh with generous portions on the nigiri. The chef and hostess were both very friendly. I didn't eat inside but the place looked very clean and decorated well. Prices were very fair, especially considering this is the bay area. I'm only in town one more day but I will definitely try to return. Highly recommended.

Your standard, run-of-the-mill sushi place. The food is alright (I had a dynamite and pandora roll, and wouldn't recommend either), but nothing to write home about. The staff was pleasant and polite, but nothing stood out. Prices are fairly average for the area and the type of food.
After some initial wait we managed to get the waiter's attention for seats(pretty light day), the restaurant has a lot of options. We tried some sushi and sashimi, also salmon in lunch options. The food was really good, one of ladies was very hospitable and good to talk to. Overall pretty satisfied and would surely recommend.
Went for team dinner here. There are ample options for non-vegetarians, as compared to 6-8 for vegetarians. I am a vegetarian and ordered a veggie roll which was very good and fresh. All the other that the team ordered also looked good and they were really loving each one of the ordered sushis. Overall a great place for sushi lovers, also does not disappoints veggie lovers.
It is ok. Not bad. The owner is friendly, the food is not tasty, California is ok, Philly is so so, miso soup is ok, just half if bowl. Edamame is 3of 5. Service is fast. Would search for smth more tastier. The atmosphere is nice.
First time here. I got the "choose 3" lunch special with grilled makrel, tuna sashimi, and pork katsu. The food was an excellent value and was tasty. It also came with a miso soup (not pictured).

Food is good, no complaints there. Wish they had ramen, but udon is good alternative. Service is challenging. We usually get seated by nice, friendly lady with glasses, then shortly after another server who is slightly more impatient, and unfriendly comes to tend the table. Im not sure if it’s a language barrier, but every time i come here with my wife the server is brash, forgetful, and doesn’t really seem like she wants to help. I had to ask for spoons for our miso soup 3 times. I can let anyone have a bad day, but the last time was likely the third that we’ve had this experience with this server, and it really dampens the mood of the night when you feel like you are bothering your server for service. Theres too many other good Japanese restaurants nearby to settle for that. I was really trying to be understanding and patient because I prefer to support local mom and pop shops, and this place def has the charm to be that, but service being as unfriendly as it is is really a bummer.
I ordered takeout for a bbq beef shortrib, which was $14.95 on the online menu. When I went to pick it up they charged me $37 since that is their dinner price and they apparently don't have any bbq beef shortrib for $14.95. I showed the waitress the online menu and how it was listed at $14.95 but she said that's not their menu, even though it is linked right here on their page. The pictures of their other menus are all 2+ years old too. Would appreciate if they'd update their menu to a current version so I wouldn't be overcharged by triple the price.
Do not recommend, go anywhere else and avoid this place if you can. Food and space are just straight up bad. Average score of 2/5 Food: 2/5 Ordered hot tea and the tea was basically just hot water, not brewed well, and the tea cups smelled like bleach. We all ordered bentos and all the meats were tough, dry, tasted odd. There were a few other rolls and they were decent. Ambience: 1/5 Place smelled like sulfur or some kind of gas, ruined the entire experience. Tables and chairs were on the brink of breaking and some creak. It is well lit and the furniture isn’t badly arranged. Service: 4/5 We were the only ones in the restaurant when we went at 7pm, with that said, staff were fast to get to us and checked in often. Price: 1/5 Overpriced, a bento goes for $17-$22 and most rolls go for $17 on average. For all the other negatives, definitely not worth the price.

This place was super disappointing. We came here because of the high reviews, but honestly, the sashimi in the chirashi bowl I got was barely edible. The pieces were huge, assumedly, to cover up the terrible quality. I couldn’t even bite through one piece of unidentifiable fish. The seaweed salad was slimy. Yuck. The salad was swimming in dressing. The best thing was the California rolls. Which is a very low bar. Thank goodness my husband got it, it was about the only edible thing we got. I hope I don’t get food poisoning later.
My boyfriend and I got food poisoning from here the service was horrible! Our waitress was rude. We got sick maybe half an hour from being home, we didn’t eat anything else after that it was the sushi dude be careful!!! And when we went back the lady spoke English at first then started to act like she couldn’t and got really mad that we were telling them that we got sick from their food . Paid more than 60 dollars to go and puke it up don’t get me wrong the food was great but not until we got home So like I said be careful
