I got the Pork puposa meal and my partner for the puposa.tamle.enchilada i think combo. Food was excellent, fresh , vibrant. Great flavors. Huge portion good value. I would love to eat my way through the menu at this place.
A small group of us had a great lunch here recently. I ordered the frijol and loroco y queso pupusas with rice and beans and shared some fried yuca. Everything was great! The service was friendly and the overall atmosphere was great for a weekday lunch. I would definitely return.
Three of us went in advance of an event at Garcia's. Food was absolutely fantastic. Two of us ordered house specialty Dos Pupusas con Aroz Frijol y Plantano, the third opted for tacos. We shared cole slaw and yuca fries. Everything served up in a friendly, attentive manner. Atmosphere friendly, food amazing, prices reasonable. Would highly recommend as both a destination and as a place to dine before an event.
This Salvadoran place has excellent food. They definitely have one of the best pupusas in Westchester County. My personal favorite is the frijol con queso pupusa that is so tasty when paired with the curtido and salsa. The combination of the beans and cheese of the pupusas with the cabbage and salsa is absolutely phenomenal and a must try when in Port Chester. They have very big and filling portions and platters that will leave you feeling stuffed. Pupusas with rice and plátanos for me will always leave me feeling satisfied and fulfilled with myself. The staff is also so kind and friendly, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The location is also great as it is right next to The Capitol Theater, making it a good spot to eat from before enjoying a show!
This restaurant is a family-run spot in Portchester. The service is lovely and the food is so tasty and fresh. I would recommend the Pupusas de Chicharrón and Pollo, the Chicharrón con Yuca, the tamal de elote, the tamal de pollo, the empanada de platano. Everything was served with care. The spot is family friendly and it was clean.
I moved to westchester 5 years ago and been looking for pupusas everywhere and finally found this place from a follower on TikTok! I came here tonight with my husband , we arrived at 8 pm, google said they closed at 9 so I was hoping they would let us dine in and hoping we werent too late but we were welcomed with open arms! Very friendly women servers who sat us down and were very very nice . The place is so clean, love the decoration and the family photos on the wall. I love how cozy and homey it feels in there! Now the food, is the BEST puposa and Salvadoran food that ive EVER had.. the most authentic food you can get. The food is full of flavor and not overly salty or processed, absolutely DELICIOUS. We tried the chicharron pupusa, friole pupusas and we got the combo which came with rice and beans and a plantain. The portions are HUGE so make sure you bring your appetite! Prices are very reasonable for what they give you. We sat till about 9 pm and they did not rush us, they nicely asked if we would like more beer or any deserts, they were amazing. I will absolutely be returning ! Definitely recommend 10/10
My wife and I ate there last night (second time) before the show at The Capital. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and quick. We will be going back again when we have tickets to another show.
The food was excellent, and everything was tasty. Our favorite was definitely the Seafood Soup and the Yucca & Chicharrone. The portion size was huge. The waitresses were all very friendly and worked hard. We took the pictures after we started eating the main dish, so please excuse the pictures.
This restaurant was a delightful surprise. My friend and I had dinner here at the last minute. We were in Port Chester for a show at The Capitol Theater. The food was delicious. We didn't order a lot, but had some delicious pupusas and another dish with rice, beans and sweet plantain. Delicious! Highly recommend it. The staff was very polite and attentive.
Lovely costillas and calamari and pupusas, lovely waitresses, TV somewhat distracting, enjoyed the art. Very busy Sunday 8pm so service was lovely but slow. Generous portions and my mother remarked how tender the rings of squid were, though large (no tentacles). The ribs were a cut I'm not familiar with, baby back English cut short ribs perhaps, the menu said chuck. I would order them again. Sweet sauce, was good. The pupusas were very nice, new to me. Enjoyed the flan.
Second time trying this place, I gather they have been here a long time… I love pupusas I’m not Salvadoran but I grew up in Los Angeles where there is a large Salvadoran population. As a child pupusas were one of my absolute favorite foods I’ve even visited El Salvador and had pupusas in their homeland. The pupusas here are nothing special, they are fine but not particularly good, I’ve had better in Westchester for sure… today I asked the waitress for a side of plantains they were on the menu for $4 she asked if I want crema I said how much to add she said it would be $6.75 I said it’s ok without she said it’s $6.75 without $8 with crema I was kind of confused because they were on the menu for $4 I said forget it she said without I said ok. I know pupusas are not expensive and $2.75 doesn’t really make a difference but unlike most people in this county I’m not rich… the bill $4 for the platanos… ok fine what was the $6.75 $8 about it’s not a huge deal but it felt kind of like being worked over a little in combination with the unremarkable pupusas for the second time, I will not be returning here.
I was so happy to be going back here after such a long time for my graduation where I won a ward in all the subjects so I decided to go here after my graduation but this time it was something else because the papuso I ordered they said they couldn’t make it and I asked why you guys always make but they said because they freeze their popusos and unfreeze them when they order it and the quality in there food dropped drastically I was so gloomy after this happened because I thought I would be how it always is and it wasn’t so we left with a disappointed family and a sad kid we will never come back
Walking in had the atmosphere of a prison - dim fluorescent lighting down a long corridor with tables on each side to the front counter. As we walked to the counter, everyone at each table looked up to stare at us as we passed. Really uncomfortable. Can’t review the food since we didn’t get a chance to try it but customer experience (service and atmosphere) was a complete zero. Restaurant closed at 9pm on a Saturday, we walked in at 8:40p. Waitress sat us and told us to order soon before they closed. Another waitress came over to give us the menus and then told us that we can only order food to go. Despite the rave reviews and Food Network publicity, no reason for me to go back and try. No thanks, bye.
