Simon Pearce is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Vermont, their food is exceptional, fresh, flavorful and always delicious. It’s a struggle to choose what to order because everything is so good! The service is impeccable, Charlie is so kind, Jacob the host is the nicest!! The ambience is exquisite and you get to meander through their beautiful shop after your meal. It’s a true Vermont experience that is unforgettable.
Phenomenal atmosphere! The food was delicious!! Our waitress was super sweet as well. I also enjoyed shopping around in the retail section of the store. They also have a space downstairs where you can watch people hand blow glass. Very cool! Would definitely go back!
Definitely worth checking out the food is fantastic especially for the area. The white staff was so nice. We sat at the bar one night and then the dining room one night both were lovely experiences.
I love everything about this restaurant! Our server, Sue, was the epitome of excellent service! Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about the menu but not pushy. The hostess was as well, just delightful. Suzanne, bartender, made a fabulous cosmo!! I have been bragging about this restaurant to my husband for years, and tonight, he got to experience it. Thank you for making a wonderful memory for us.
My husband and I have been here twice now, the first time for dinner and the second time this weekend as a birthday celebration lunch. It’s a bit of a trek for us so it had been a while but we did remember that we’d thoroughly enjoyed our first time there and loved the food. We definitely recommend going while there’s still daylight. The restaurant sits above a small dam and the view is so pretty. The lower level is a glassblowing facility that you can actually view while they’re working and it’s so interesting to watch. Above that is their store, selling mostly glass goods. Everything is absolutely stunning. The food was, as remembered, phenomenal. My only criticism is that the bread was cold and I think it would have benefited from being warmed before serving. Definitely leave room for dessert!
Unfortunately was not able to experience the dining aspect of this Simon Pearce. However, watching the handblown glass pieces being made was addicting. You can walk downstairs and start watching their employees make glass pieces intricately, carefully and want to spend the rest of the afternoon there. From a bolt of molten glass, to being shaped, blown and molded into a vase, you cannot help but watch and ask questions. Take the time, visit and you will be juat as enthralled.
Outstanding place to grab dinner. We sat at the bar and ordered 3 appetizers. The cheddar soup, cheese plate, and whipped feta. The soup and cheese plate were amazing. The whipped feta was very good, but more runny then I am accustomed to. The atmosphere and service were great. They serve their drinks and their glassware. The glasses and heavy and solid feeling. Highly recommend stopping here, if you are in the area.
This was a great place to really immerse yourself into handmade glass pieces. When you walk in from the covered bridge, you walk right into the work space and can watch the pieces be made and talk with the craftsmen. Upstairs is the showroom with the finished pieces for sale. They also have "The Seconds" room for pieces that didn't quite make it to the high standards held... but still great pieces. We did not eat at the restaurant but if the food is anything like the glass- it's probably amazing
We tried going for lunch, but the restaurant asks for reservations; so we had to do one for dinner. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. I was not impressed with the drinks, however, but I like sweet drinks and there was nothing on the menu to my taste. The lamb was very tender, and the mint jelly was a nice touch. The pineapple cake was very good as well. I would recommend and go back again.
I’ve been going here since I was a kid. This place is magical any time of year. There are thousands of hand made, made in America glass artwork. Everything in this store is made one item at a time in their Vermont factory. The restaurant service is so good it is not secondary to the glass business. The Pierce family just seems to know quality doesn’t compromise. The glass Christmas trees are a huge favorite. And they are in. Frequently used as party favors, or monuments to occasions, these hand blown sculptures are beginning their seasonal migration to the shelves. Get em early. I love the corked decanters and water jugs as well. They all glisten like diamonds at Tiffany’s. A one in a million business in Quechee Gorge Vermont. We’ll be back when the snow falls. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Tell em Jeff from MAHI Outfitters sent you.
What an amazing dining experience! 5 stars across the board. The ambience is gorgeous, the service top- notch, and the food absolutely delicious. Simon Pearce is one of the top 5 restaurants Ive ever eaten at. And that includes plenty of NYC white table cloth establishments. I was seated quickly, and started with a lemoncello mojito. Warm, housebaked bread with whipped butter arrived soon after. For my appetizer I had the maple burrata. It was so good. Then for dinner I chose the pea shoot gnocchi. The pea puree was so vibrant in color and flavor. The gnocchi, the perfect texture. (It's also available as an appetizer. ) For dessert I had the strawberry pavlova, and the strawberry sauce was so good, I wanted to lick the plate. The meringue was crispy and the whipped cream and pistachios put the whole dessert over the top. I would gladly go back. The menu isn't extensive, but I would put money on the fact that your could order any item on our and be absolutely floored. Highly recommend dining at Simon Pearce. A very delicious dinner!! They had gluten free bread rolls and several options for my gluten free husband. He had a pork chop that was amazing and moist. I had the lamb and the meat was so tender. We also had the Vermont cheese plate which was very good. We could have skipped the burrata. The service was also perfect! The view over the river was awesome and we enjoyed walking around the glass store and watching the glass blowers. A very memorable meal, great for a special occasion.
Dining at Simon Pearce Restaurant is a truly memorable experience, combining exceptional cuisine with a stunning riverside setting. Located in Quechee, Vermont, the restaurant overlooks the Ottauquechee River and a picturesque covered bridge, with views of the waterfall adding a serene backdrop to your meal. I was lucky to see the waterfall fully frozen over. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, with large windows offering breathtaking scenery year-round.
Had a date night here while visiting for the weekend. It definitely lived up to the hype. The views were beautiful while we enjoyed a delicious dinner. The service was great and the atmosphere was very romantic. Didn't think we'd have room for desert but our meals were excellent that we opted to enjoy desert as well! Made sure to check out the glass as well which was so so pretty.
Great place for lunch! We did have reservations. We had the salmon and the lamb sheperd’s pie. The restaurant is really pretty with excellent service. When you are done eating you can do some shopping, go down and watch the glass blowers, and step outside and see the waterfall. Highly recommend.
This place is worth the hype (and the cost). Beautiful views, delicious dishes, and great drinks. We started with the VT cheddar soup. It is delicious on its own but we asked for bread to dip into it and it made it that much better. The baguette style bread was great. The (I think) rye style left a lot to be desired. Next up was our main courses: half roasted chicken and NY Strip steak. Both were perfectly cooked, flavorful, and, even when full, we couldn’t stop eating them. Even though we were beyond full, we ended with the pavlova for dessert since you rarely see that on a menu! Thankfully, it was as delicious as I remember and my friends loved it as well. Why the 4-stars for service? The waitress did almost forget to bring our bread and we asked for no walnuts on the dessert and it was served with them. None of us had an allergy so we were fine eating it. Otherwise she was great.

Nice to go your the place and have a meal. Amazing to see the glass blowing and happens all day long which is nice. Went to the restaurant as well. Was pretty good but definitely pricey and food was good but not crazy. Overall had a good experience- nice service and great atmosphere. Enjoyed cheddar soup, calamri, and tar tar.
Stoped here for our 40th anniversary to try something different. Very polite bartender greeted us and allowed us to seat ourselves where we pleased. Jill, our waitress was very kind and helpful answering our questions. I enjoyed the flatbread which was a very good combination of ingredients that I could only wonder about. Whatever it is, I recommend it! My wife’s hamburger was also very good (as I got to finish it) and had a garlic sauce on the side which was a welcomed addition. The pineapple/coconut mocktail was a work of art and very satisfying. Try these as well. Price, is the only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars. $24 bucks for a hamburger is over the top. I paid $91 for two drinks, the flatbread and hamburger. Everything was good, but not that good. Head on over to Woodstock for better value.
This restaurant has been recommended to us, so we decided to give it a go. We got seated by a window that overlooked the weir with water cascading over it. Very dramatic. We picked the cheese board as an appetizer, and it was very nice -- the different cheeses that we chose, some honey, fennel chutney and some crackers. Together with the bread that also arrived, this was good. There was a very limited selection of non alcoholic drinks -- I would have expected an interesting selection of mocktails. For the main course, I had chosen the hanger steak and my wife chose the cod. My steak was very disappointing and it wasn't worth finishing. My wife did enjoy the cod and she felt that she had to finish the steak. For $170 (including tip) I felt that the quality didn't match the price. I guess that we were paying for Simon Pearce's name.
The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, the store is stunning, the restaurant is cozy and the service is superb. We tried the cheese sample appetizer and it was very good. We truly enjoyed the chocolate cake and crème brûlée desserts. However some of our entrees had room for improvement. Both the crab cake and cod were fresh and delicious but it was missing a citrus component. The chicken was slightly under seasoned and the duck was a bit overcooked. In spite of this, we had a lovely evening and would highly recommend dining here. The gift shop is marvelous but very overpriced.
Honestly, I thought I had already written a review for this place. I have eaten here countless times, and we always have a great time. The atmosphere is unbeatable. Touring the glassblowing shop is amazing. The views of the falls will take your breath away. Lately, I have enjoyed the drinks more than the entrees, but the menu changes constantly, so don't worry.

We had an unexpectedly sour start to the experience and the food was just ok, but the view from window seats of the river and falls was phenomenal. When checking in ~5-10 min before our reservation, we were asked to wait until the time of our reservation, despite multiple tables being available including the one that we were initially sat. We were ‘upgraded’ soon after to a window seat though so that was worth the short wait. All of the menu items that we ordered were good, but I can’t say they were great. After dinner, on our way to our car, we were treated to great views of a 4th of July fireworks show - not sure where the show took place. Overall, I’d give this restaurant a 3.5/5.
Great reviews and local recommendations led us to this spot with high expectations. They have wonderful views and a world class glass shop. The service is impeccable. The food, however, is confused, lacks value for the price and feels muddled in its flavors. Bread service was cold bread and cold butter fresh from the fridge. Hard as a rock butter. Cold on cold and left us scratching our head. We love bread and we left this one sitting on the plate. Oysters were great! Flavorful and plump. We just didn't have serving spoons for the accompaniment. Pouring from the small bowl didn't feel elegant. The Vermont Cheese Plate was very ordinary. Almost an afterthought in presentation with little buisict type bread, hard as a rock crackers and some cheese. For $24, I say skip this one and just hit one of the local cheese shops. They had a fish cake special which we ordered. This was a small, dry cake. Luckily, the salad they served with it was amazing. Balanced flavors and well dressed. It saved this dish. But, we ordered a fish cake appetizer, not a salad, so again we were confused. The Maple Mustard Carrots had really nice flavors and were cooked perfectly. The hazelnut brittle added a brilliant crunch and the lime labneh a great acid touch. They were served with avocado (we are from California where avocado is served on everything) and it just didn't seem to fit. Although the flavors were great, we wish they gave you more carrots. These were the skinniest little carrots we've seen on a plate. Would advise skipping the $17 side. Our main course was the most disappointing of all. The Long Island Duck. Described as kimchi fried rice, five spice duck and candied orange, we were expecting a flavor bomb of Asian cuisine. Instead, we got a very southern style dish. The hot sauce they douse the dish in is essentially a Louisiana style hot sauce and wipes out any other flavors they intended. Very confusing mix of flavors and textures. The duck was cooked very well and had a nice crispy skin. Tender and juicy meat. The rice, soaked in that sauce, did not fair well. Muddled flavors. Another pass for us. Overall, I would say to go for the shop. Go for a drink and the views. And skip dinner. The value here is missing and the flavors are lacking the finesse you might expect. One-and-done.
