GO SEE MIKE FROM ADMISSIONS! He was absolutely wonderful in helping me. I have been out of school for a while and he gave me excellent direction on the best course of action that would fit me and my schedule. He was so nice and personable and made the process a lot less nerve wracking. Thank you!
Perfect size. Accessible faculty. Caring student services staff. Currently renovating a number of buildings that will be beautiful and state of the art in 2018.
So far I'm liking this school. Nice to go to a school that actually wants you to succeed in life. And will move mountain to help you reach your goal.

I enjoyed this college a lot. I went before they built the dorms back in 2013. Reviews weren’t as popular back then and I see some mixed reviews so here is an honest one. The people in the financial aid office are amazing. They help you and really explain things to you if you don’t understand. They really educated me on financial aid and how it worked since it was all new to me. I did work study and working in the gym/sports events was great. I met a lot of cool people and coach Haskell who oversaw most of the athletics at the time was amazing. If you do work study opt for the gym! My professors were pretty good. And if you needed extra help you just ask. I’ve forgotten her name but my history professor was very intelligent and genuinely cared about her students. My music teacher (I got stuck taking that class) was HARD but I learned a lot. There’s also a tutor study section in the library many people don’t take advantage of that. Go to orientation and to sporting or events even if you aren’t social it’s a great way to meet people and learn about the school. The campus is beautiful and if you don’t want to live on campus you can most likely find something near by. I commutes from VT at the time so it was a long ride but I loved the school. The only bad thing I would say is that they need to have a better disabilities area, because not everyone has the same disability.
Campus was empty for summer. Nice campus, updated technological facilities, graphic design and the radio station were great. Was able to run into a professor in the dept. And got a up close tour of the sound boatds, video production lab it was great.
edit: I see SUNY changed the policy so I fixed my Score, but the critique still stands. This review is nothing about the quality of the Professors here but rather a critique of the backwards vaccine policy at SUNY ACC. What happened to "my body, my choice?" Yes, I complied and got the vaccine and was able to take my class, but it is ridiculous that a PCR-confirmed Covid positive case in the past 6 months does not also qualify as an immunization, as natural immunity is proven to be as effective (honestly more effective) than any for-profit vaccine. I had to get that worthless shot just to take an evening class that I was taking purely for curiosity and pleasure. I would've worn a mask, I would've done anything to not get that shot but I was given 0 options or alternatives, despite my pre-existing conditions. I got so sick after that shot, it put me out for days and exasperated my pre-existing medical conditions. I really wonder why SUNY is still putting students through this backwards and honestly invasive policy long after the pandemic is considered officially over. If SUNY changes their heavy-handed and autonomy-defacing vaccine policy, I will gladly amend this review. For what it's worth, their Computer Science Department is good.
Must be a good college... I enrolled to go back today 😉 Update: Still attending and closer to finishing my degree in Criminal Justice. Not easy going and working Full time BUT I'm getting closer to the finish line!
This is a great campus with that genuine "college atmosphere" but likely without the ticket price of other places.
Nice building!, looks great inside! & outside! Clean! & modern! The lecture hall was very nice!

I went to this school and while most of the teachers were fair/good to innovative/friendly, one teacher in particular who has caused my score to the school to be only 3/5 is a statistics teach named "Georgianna Ryan" who I had my last semester in 2011, she was very rude to me and there was at least one incident in which she said she needed to talk with me outside the classroom and instead of that she slammed the door behind me and would not let me go back in and following that incident when I tried to use my cell phone to contact my Mom which if I remember correctly she took from me first saying something along the lines of she had to use it for something before she pushed me out but I found that my phone was not working because I think she had removed the battery before she gave it back to me and I believe she tried to do it to me again and I think she tried to do it to another student and I think I was able to stop her first but she was very mean and it is my strong opinion that she should be examined for this and any other such issues and in tern dismissed from her position and fined for her arrogant disregard of for the feelings of her students especially since I think she tried to push me down the stairs once, and several time held up the elevator so I had to walk down the stairs either by keeping it on the floor she had gotten off on or by holding the door open when I was on board, also she refused to help me out in the math lab on several occasions and several times refused to come to the administrators office even when he asked her to as well as sign the papers she was made to by my note taker who I rightfully had because of my Asperger's Syndrome so they could be compensated by the school which is another issue of hers so if anyone goes to this school make sure to keep track of all such issues for both yourself and your fellow students should you take a class with professor "Georgianna Ryan" and if you or someone you know has had a similar issue with her I would recommend giving a complaint to the college administration and making sure other people know about it as I have just done, as for the best of the teachers that honor goes to "Dr. Lidia Treadway" a teach of Psychology who is very friendly with her students and teaches both her "General Psychology" and "Abnormal Psychology" classes very well by among other methods show the Movie "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" in both classes and in her "Abnormal Psychology" class shows "The Aviator" plus "The three faces of Eve" and "A Beautiful Mind" as a way of showing how people like those in the movie function in society since as she says she can not take us to a Psych ward to meet the real deal, so remember "Treadway Excellent" "Ryan Horrible"

Pro: Low costs for a degree, campus is clean, many classes were the same quality as ones I took at SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Albany, admin offices were helpful and more accessible than the other schools I mentioned. Cons: I was forced to withdraw from a Writing About Film class I took. The teacher spent 3 months using the class to express his political hatred for George Bush. I disagreed with him once and I was forced to withdraw because he was threatened by my opinion. Hostility towards conservatives is something I noticed at SUNY Plattsburgh (main campus) as well. But overall most professors didn’t discuss politics.

This is the school of failure. If you love failing over and over again this is the place to be! If you struggle your first year of college like any normal student normally does you get to be put on academic probation and then guess what happens!? You get academically dismissed yayyyyy! Then you send in an appeal it gets approved then they control how many classes you take and what you take even better! 😆 Then they have you taking up to just 2 classes for the next 2 semesters because they said so! Which ultimately makes you graduate a year late! Which means more semesters to take which means more money you have to spend! I LOVE THIS SCHOOL SO MUCH! In all seriousness this school is horrible the graduation rate is 28% for a reason.
I attended this school for a year before leaving. the teachers did not care about what they were teaching. they showed up later then students and left class early. 80 minute classes turned u to 40. Aside from the teachers. my dorm was broken into and and my medication were stolen. the campus security didn’t care to help find who broke in and help me get my stuff back. instead i was lied to and gaslighted by the officers. trying to make me think no one broke in. i don’t recommend this school. it’s filled with kids that don’t even attend the school and live on students couches dealing drugs.
Suny Adirondack, one of the worst experiences of my life honestly. The dorms are mostly the reason for the cause of trouble on campus. Don't get me wrong ,the staff are great (most), but for the other 80% of the campus, I would say avoid. If you can afford to go somewhere else do so. We could not really do anything without being told no, or being questioned on where we were going or what we were doing. Public Safety constant;y was in your business or inviting themselves into rooms to room check. Also not to mention tension built between students would lead to violent crimes on campus. Vandalism here is an all time high, and there is corruption in the student body as well as officers on campus. A note to take as well is, that almost anybody can get into this college, and with dorms comes mixing NYC kids with Upstate country kids, does not go well. This really was not a good place to be. My friend almost died in the lobby (while choking on his vomit officers put him on his back?!). Amazed me of how untrained they are to deal with an OD situation, because some spiked my friends what ever that night. I made a few good friends, but refuse to go visit due to public safety honestly. They give me the hardest time trying to go knock on my friends dorms to see if they were home. It was like high school mixed with a prison here. Also the cops are right in the dorms, hope you sleep well if you go here. Probably not though because how loud everyone had there music. This college was not a college and never will be. P.S. I'm sorry to my past professors whom see this, this had nothing against the program I was in. Honestly this is a good school for Adventure Education though being located right under the Adirondacks, just don't get mixed up in the riff raft of the under belly of the school.
If you are a local, average school. Student life is really boring. boring Campus. Teachers are so lienient it's scary. Website is far from the truth. SUNY ACC, anyone can come.
I inquired about enrolling in school and I just asked some questions about the programs after asking them I never heard back from there horrible communication.
