Met Mr. J yesterday and was very impressed. I decided to tell him about my Jamaican restaurant that I am opening on February 6 and he encouraged me to put one of my flyers on his door which I did. I decided to tell my coworker about my experience with Mr. J and she decided that she would buy lunch for us today... we bought the Gooney Goo Goo (hope I spelled that correctly ) and it was wonderful...thank you Mr. J

I was passing through Redding and needed to stop and eat somewhere. Ended up with a fantastic pulled pork sandwich and the beans were damn good too. Felt bad not finishing but I tend to get sleepy on long drives, so I ate half and saved the rest for later. Having finished that second half, I can truly say I had a divine experience here. Friendly dudes behind the counter as well.

Excellent food and always great service. Catering is great also. They offer some of the best BBQ in town, slow cooked and well-seasoned. Buy some of their sauces to take home as well. Mike and Jim (and the rest of the family) always have great food that is fresh and filling! Edit: Went in today during lunch time and had an awesome pulled pork sandwich with the best fries around! Wish I could get in more often!

Stopped in Redding for lunch on the way back from fly fishing camp. Saw the name Fat Daddy’s and it sounded good. Man the pulled pork sandwich was better than most in Texas. Great food, great man with an awesome beard behind the counter, cool atmosphere and short wait for food. Definitely coming back next time I’m in the area.

First time here, good was awesome as was th staff. Prices and quantity were well worth it!

Great food. Haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but I'm working on it. I don't eat coleslaw, but my kids said it was some of the best they've had. Chicken and pork ribs are fire. You need to try it 🤤

If I could give ten stars I would, if u want some fall off the bone meat this is were to come, very reasonable price! Yum 🤤. I can't believe we got this much for what we paid. Definitely coming back! The gentleman working was amazing, my son and me were outside and he threw up the guy was sweetest gave us plastic bags and wet towels. Amazing service amazing food I would recommend everyone to come here!!

Really awesome spot. Super tasty food, we got the BBQ chicken (very tender) and the burgers (absolutely huge). Fat Daddy himself was there and he took great care of us. We will be coming back!

The meat pulled pork and tri-tip was very good. The sides onion rings, beans and potatoe wedges were very tasty also.

Great place. Love the combo with 3 pork ribs and 2 sides for around $14. The sauce is sweet and tangy, the ribs fall off the bone, and the baked beans are addictive. Tried the Caesar salad and it is fresh, cold, crisp, and delicious. Very friendly staff.

The wife and I love this place. We found ourselves eating here almost 5 times a week, when we moved to Redding not to long ago. Amazing people and wonderful food. My wife has a serious pork allergy and Big Boss makes sure everything is perfect before leaving the restaurant, when we do our mobile orders. I ALWAYS tell my traveling friends to enjoy Fat Daddy's when they are traveling through Redding for work. Thank you for being wonderful people and cooking tasty food.

I didn’t enjoy it the first time I went a few years ago and figured it was a fluke. Came to give it a second try and left just as disappointed. The dining room is in desperate need of a deep clean. The chairs were sticky, windows and pictures along the walls caked in a layer of dust, and just an unclean feel around everything. Portions for the meat were small for the plate price and inconsistent. We ordered two tri tip plates- one had 4 very thin pieces the other had a few more than the first but all varying thicknesses. The side beans didn’t have much flavor and had big slices of nearly raw onion throughout the cup. Also ordered the burger- nothing special. Good bun but the patty was dry and the single piece of green leaf lettuce made the burger fall apart with every bite.

The tri tip meal comes with 5 slices of tri tip that are a little larger than a silver dollar. The owner was nice and super friendly but it was not worth the trade off of having to go purchase a second dinner.

After showing them my credit card statement and my email order confirmation, they were indifferent and made her pay again. When she arrived at my house across town, the beans container had popped open and spilled all over the trunk. When we opened the bags, the order was wrong! We got a wilted lettuce salad instead of the coleslaw I had ordered. The baby back ribs were overcooked, dried out and tough. "The Mess" stuffed baked potato was disgusting. It was a small soggy potato covered in beans with another side of wilted lettuce. Seriously dudes! Get your act together. Smokin' Joe's is way better.
