You hear it over and over.. Salt & Pearl is the preferred hot spot to meet friends for a great meal in the Riv. The service, food, and atmosphere come together perfectly.. a little more on the nice side but still very approachable from the beach. Many of the menu items are what you see over and over in the village but they do a unique preparation and the quality is a cut above. Also their raw bar and oysters are always fresh and amazing. The main courses are mainly seafood.. the usual suspects are there from Mahi to Ahi, and of course salmon, fish and chips, not to mention one of the few legit lobster rolls you will find locally.. even the little things like fries and sides are the best. The mushroom dish is a great hearty option if you don't do meat. The service and atmosphere here had a great energy where you just want to come in and converse with friends and chill out for a drink or two over a great meal. When a place is always full of regulars and the favorite of so many locals who have tons of options you know Salt & Pearl is always a great option in the heart of Riviera Village. The Strawberry & Melon gin seltzer is super refreshing if you need to go back to work late and you can't day drink.. who knew they make their seltzers in house. I don't know of any place that has more local regulars and fans.. and we agree. Great seafood, drinks, service, and atmosphere.. you will enjoy yourself here to be sure. Update: great live music on Thursdays along with another amazing dinner. Finally tried the tomahawk steak and it was all that. The seafood chowder, crying tiger sashimi, and especially the BBQd oysters 3 ways were all amazing. An impressive lineup of starters and raw bar selections. Our server Forrest was excellent. Service, food, atmosphere.. overall a wonderful 5 stat visit to Salt and Pearl
Impressive is an understatement! We went last Sunday while in town from Texas for my husband's 40th. The manager, bartender, wait staff and hostess all made us feel at "home". We had a large group, with kids, and they didn't rush us, service was impeccable and the food was outstanding! Living in Houston, a foodie city, we were so excited we found this place. Steak, hamachi, tuna, oysters, Mac n cheese, my martinis, all excellent. Highly recommend!!!!
Went into salt and pearl Sunday and was greeted by the host Skyler who was super kind and sat us at our seats at the bar. We also talked with the bartender Kenneth for a while, he was amazing! He made an amazing skinny margarita for me and I got to eat my favorites from the menu, the warm lobster roll and mushroom side! I dream about them often they’re so good… LOL. Ended the night with a sweet treat, the chocolate mousse cake which was so rich! It was everything I needed and more after a long day of playing volleyball at the beach.
Beautiful and DELICIOUS restaurant. DELICIOUS. Scallops were the best and most unique flavors I have ever had. I love scallops and order them all the time. These were phenomenal! Lobster roll was amazing. Tons of fresh meat packed into the sandwich. Wedge salad was great! Usually wedge salads are just a filler dish but this one has amazing flavor. Service: perfect - our server greeted us right away. Didn’t pressure or rush us through ordering. Made great recommendations. - very tentative The restaurant is so creative, sexy and well put together. Such a cute interior and the detail is insane! Full bar, great wine beer and cocktail options. 2 gender neutral bathrooms (super cute bathrooms) Outdoor patio, bar seating, coaches and tables
Well our fabulous server FORREST kept me in delicious coffee our starters were exquisite calamari delicious Brussels sprouts roasted 😋 and their FABULOUS SMASHED BURGER WOWSA OUTSTANDING ♥️🇺🇸🇲🇽☕️✌️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We split the bill, but the tip amount was not split. Please be careful with the check.
Best food anywhere! Reserve the patio seating for a great alfresco experience. Close to beach too!
Our first of many visits to Salt & Pearl was simply delicious. Such a nice addition to the Riviera Village. This is the spot you’re going to be bringing your friends when they visit you in the South Bay.
Amazing service and tasty fresh food! We had the fresh scallops and seared ahi. It's prepared in a way where all the flavors mesh perfectly! The drink menu does not disappoint either. This is a must visit restaurant! Thank you Salt and Pearl!

Despite the negative publicity, some restaurants offer exceptional dining experiences. I would like to share a positive experience I had with my son on Saturday evening. We made reservations at Salt and Pearl in Redondo Beach, and a table was ready for us. Our server, Max, was also prepared. My son ordered the Seabass, while I opted for the new item on the menu, short rib. The flavor was exceptional. It was a very positive experience for both of us. I have visited the restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. The owner even approached us to inquire about our experience and expressed concern that we were enjoying ourselves. I highly recommend trying it out.
My husband and I walked by here and saw their prime rib deal on Mondays - $25 for a 10 oz with horseradish and au jus sauce....what a deal! We were also there during happy hour which was awesome; some of the sides we wanted was on it! We got two prime rib cooked medium rare, brussel sprouts ($7), wasabi slaw ($5), and scalloped potatoes ($12 not on the happy hour menu). The meat was cooked perfectly with not much fat on it. The skin was peppery and flavorful and the meat was juicy. I wish the horseradish had more heat to it but understand not everyone may like it that way. My favorite sides was the potatoes and slaw. The potatoes came to us looking like a slice of cake - thick and super buttery. I know they say there's garlic, jalapenos and cheddar in it but the butter reigned supreme. I didn't taste any wasabi in the slaw, but it felt refreshing after eating the heavy potatoes and meat. I couldn't taste the gochujang in the potatoes, but I could taste the bacon! That was delicious. Service was fast - There was only one other table being waited on when we went. Our waters were filled consistently and finished plates were taken away promptly. The space has an "outdoor" area that was blocked off during the day. Perhaps in summer when its warmer they'll open the whole place up? Parking is up and down the street and all metered.
Went here for date night with a group — they were super accommodating and changed our reservation from 4 to 6 right away. The wedge salad was perfectly done, and they’ll even chop it for you if you ask. We ordered the Seabass, which was absolutely delicious and beautifully cooked, with spinach that was perfectly sautéed. The calamari was another standout, and surprisingly the slaw ended up being one of the highlights — fresh, tangy, and unique. The Smashburger was 10/10 …Parmesan fries was just okay — I’d go with regular fries next time. The jidori chicken looked amazing, definitely trying that next. The seasonal drink with spicy corn nuts and a Tajín rim was such a great touch. Such a great addition to South Redondo — we’ll definitely be back. Well done!
We had an amazing experience! The food and service were exceptional. I went with my family and asked for some dietary assistance for one of us. Our server, Forrest, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His care and attention truly made the meal taste even better! The restaurant manager was also wonderful, personally checking in with every table to make sure guests were well taken care of. It made the whole evening feel extra special.
This food was delicious. My husband and I talked about the New England seafood chowder for like two hours. We ate there yesterday and I’m considering going back today. As soon as we walked in, we were politely greeted by the hostess. The place itself is very small but not too crowded. Cute decor and very clean bathrooms. We started with drinks. Out waiter was very nice, food was out fast. We got chowder, calamari, seared sesame bluefin tuna, lobster mac and cheese, and the garlic shrimp. No complains on anything. The slaw and dipping sauce that comes with the calamari were so good. We will be returning and I 100% recommend trying this place
Salt & Pearl is our favorite place to eat out in the Riviera. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is great, and the food always delivers. Favorites are the blue cheese wedge, the mac and cheese is excellent, and the hamachi crudo is consistently spot-on. Great drinks, easy atmosphere, and just a reliably solid spot every time.

Great food and an attentive staff. They have a solid selection of Oysters which are just the right size (for me). The fish and lobster selections were fresh. However, a meal here can be a little pricey compared to others restaurants of a similar caliber. We had the lunch menu, we didn’t brave into the (new) brunch menu. Would recommend if you want to splurge.

The atmosphere was nice and the patio was well maintained. It was nice to have a heater next to our table. Our server was nice, but not knowledgeable about wine pairing with the food options we ordered. She also didn’t return back to our table after we received our food except to bring our check. I ordered the BBQ oysters 3 ways as my meal. They were well seasoned and cooked to perfection, but at $5 each I wouldn’t say they were worth it. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay to have with my meal and it was thick and “buttery” as the server described it. The wine selection was not great and being in California I had high hopes. Serving Oyster Bay wine in California is a sin… I could have gotten that at any grocery store or even Walgreens. I was not a fan. My fiance ordered the albacore for his meal. ($30ish) It was marked as a “main” entree on the menu and was not served with any sides or a salad. Some of the mains did come with sides, which to me didn’t make sense. Either make it à la carte completely or serve them all with sides. He said the fish was good and matched the seasoning and taste that the menu described, but the plate presentation was somewhat sloppy. It looked rushed. He ordered a side of brussel sprouts ($13) to go with it. The flavor of the sprouts was great, the cook not so much. No crispness to them at all, still kind of tough. Basically tasted like they were boiled. He had a Negroni that he said was good. I had high hopes and unfortunately they weren’t met. I’m not sure that we’d return if we’re ever in the area again.
Salt & Pearl has a charming, comfortable vibe, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout the evening. My date raved about the salmon, which was clearly a hit. As someone who eats vegan, though, the experience fell short. The menu offers very limited plant-based choices, and the cauliflower steak—the only real option—was a letdown. It was dense, difficult to cut, and the accompanying sauce had an odd, overly tangy flavor that didn’t complement the dish at all. With just one vegan entrée available, you’d hope it would at least be enjoyable, but it wasn’t. It’s disappointing to see such a great restaurant overlook vegan diners. Until they add a truly well-executed vegan dish, I don’t see myself returning.
Salt & Pearl in Redondo Beach offers a nice ambiance for a casual lunch or dinner. Located on a bustling strip with plenty of options, it boasts both indoor and outdoor seating – a big plus in California. We opted for the covered outdoor patio (perfect for escaping the sun), but with a reservation, we ended up seated inside due to high demand. The calming green and black color scheme creates a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for catching up with friends. We started with drinks – the "Farmer's Daughter" was a winner! Light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer day. Unfortunately, the "Wafer" fell short. Described as a smoky drink, it ended up tasting more like a weak Kahlua with stale accompaniments (wafers). That's not what I expected. For our mains, the blackened mahi mahi was decent. The fish itself was cooked perfectly, but the achiote crema sauce was a bit skimpy, leaving the dish feeling slightly dry. The side of succotash with lima beans was also a bit undercooked. My friend's experience with Monte Cristo wasn't much better. He found it dry and lacking flavor. On the bright side, the service was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, Salt & Pearl offers a pleasant atmosphere, but the execution on certain plates could be improved.

We went to Salt and Pearl Sunday to take as vantage of their Sunday night dinner special. To be honest it was unfortunately Not Special the steak was all fatty and grisly and they could have thrown in some greens to make the offer more like they were proud to serve it. With all that said the service was superb and the little dining room was perfect for a Sunday night dinner. I’ll try it again at some point but one of their specials
Service was good, atmosphere lively although definitely loud and could prove difficult to hear your companion from across the table. At times. The food was average for the price you're paying. Presentation of the meal was nice but just not at the level for the price. I would go again but it feels like more of a "been there done that"
A real disappointment. The atmosphere was unbearably noisy, making it hard to enjoy the meal. The beet salad lacked flavor, the salmon was plain, and the mushrooms were overly fried and oily. Service was acceptable, but nothing special. We paid $100 for two mains and one starter—far too expensive for the quality and experience.
