I had the stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was exceptionally tasty! Catherine, our server, was very attentive and mindful of our needs. Autumn and Kristin belted out nostalgic songs to top off the night! What a fun time to see them on stage again!
We went for brunch and totally enjoyed this meal. We had the short rib hash, Omelets, cinnamon bun, and mimosas. The quality of the food is exceptional. We have been to dinner here as well on other occasions, and it's always exceptional. This is a great place in Rehoboth to eat.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Blue Moon Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It truly felt as if we were dining at a close friend or family member's house. To start off our meal, we ordered the wedge salad and the crab and corn bisque. Both dishes were executed perfectly, with the salad being crisp and refreshing, and the bisque being rich and flavorful. The attention to detail in the preparation of these dishes was evident, and it set the tone for the rest of the meal. For our main course, we opted for the pork chops with ratatouille. The pork chops were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and the ratatouille was seasoned just right, complementing the meat beautifully. We also decided to try their burger, which had a unique twist with a sweet bacon taste. It was a delicious combination that really elevated the flavors. In addition to the wonderful dining I must mention the amazing truffle Mac and cheese we had. It was a true standout dish that deserves recognition. The combination of creamy cheese, aromatic truffle, and perfectly cooked pasta was simply divine. It added an extra touch of indulgence to our meal and left us wanting more. The truffle Mac and cheese at Blue Moon Restaurant is a must-try To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the blueberry bread pudding. It was the perfect way to conclude our dining experience, with its comforting and satisfying taste. We also couldn't resist trying their cherry bourbon cocktail, which had a hint of spice that added an extra layer of depth to the overall meal. Overall, our experience at the Blue Moon Restaurant was exceptional. The cozy and inviting ambiance, combined with the impeccable execution of each dish, made for a truly memorable dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this charming restaurant if you find yourself in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
I don't even know where to begin! the service was great, we had reservation and arrived on time. We were seated and made the staff aware we came to celebrate a birthday, they brought some delish bread to the table, with a sweet butter. We ordered drinks and every one of them was strong, and tasted great. We ordered the seafood pasta, which has a light tomato based sauce and a lot of seafood-shrimp, scallops and lobster. it was perfect. We also got the short rib stroganoff-the meat melts in your mouth, and the sauce was seasoned just right and the sour cream on top was just insane. Lastly we got the sea bass with this sauce, I can't explain it but know it was on a bed of grits. WOW! we shared it all and had enough to take home for late night snack. We got their signature dessert, the multi-layered ice cream bomb cake large enough for a small army to share. 7 layers...toasted marshmallow on outside. The entire meal was worth every dime and our server was on it, he gave us great attention, small talk was on point and when I recall his name I will come back and edit this post.
Best food we've had in Rehoboth during our whole stay here. The short rib stroganoff, the wedge salad, the lobster risotto, the roasted oysters, and the scallops were all fantastic.
Wow! What amazing food! My sister took me here to celebrate my birthday tonight. It was beyond delicious and such a fun time. I had the mozzarella Burrata which is with cherry tomatoes, grilled mango and pistachios. A bit different than I’m used to but so good! The mango could have been a bit riper but still so tasty. My entree was the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. I like my meat well done! Yes, well done! This was made to order and so tender and yummy! Whatever they season the meat with is out of this world delicious! The mashed potatoes were so creamy. For dessert I had the lemon blueberry bread pudding. I’m not a fan of bread pudding but I’m a fan of this bread pudding! It was very tasty but so large, I had to take half home! My alcoholic drinks of choice were the Tropical Coconut Martini and the Frozen Fresh Peach Daiquiri. Both went down so nicely! Tonight the show was Legends! A lot of fun! They all had great stage presence and worked the room. We had Martha Wash, Etta James, Barry White and Freddie Mercury! Make your reservation early because they are booked up! You may feel it’s a bit pricey but the show is included and it’s good that is just outrageously delicious! You will not be sorry! Everything was outstanding!
We had a party of six (5 adults and 1 baby) and the staff at Blue Moon were so accommodating! They sat us in the back so it felt very private and they had a high chair waiting for us at the end of the table. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. Our food came out so quick, and it was absolutely delicious! We had the fried green tomatoes (YUM!!) and the short rib nachos. We also had the ribeye and the seafood pasta. Everything was cooked beautifully. We had the Oreo cheesecake and key lime pie (must try!!!) for dessert. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with exceptional food! Thank you!
One of the best restaurants in the 19971. From the front of the house staff, to the very attentive and wonderful servers to the back of the house where the magic happens. The Blue Moon never disappoints. If you find yourself visiting Rehoboth beach, and you’re interested in a fine dining experience, perhaps celebrating a special occasion or perhaps just treating yourself to a delicious meal, The Blue Moon awaits. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting on the off-season, their Tasting Tuesday menu may just blow your mind. And perhaps those who are most lucky will get to see two of Blue Moon’s amazing entertainers, house divas, Roxy Overbrook and Magnolia Apple Bottom. Thank you Blue Moon!! (R&T 🙌🏽❤️ 🙌🏽)
This was our 2nd time dining at Blue Moon and there is a reason for us coming back! It is great in every way; atmosphere, staff, food, drinks and when they have a show it is always FUN! This time we had the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail....Amazing! you only see 2 shrimp on the glass but there is more in the salsa!!! We also enjoyed the filet mignon and stuffed shrimp entrees. It was a very nice and pleasant way for us to enjoy our early Valentine's Day Dinner. Highly recommend!
This restaurant is iconic now in Downtown Rehoboth Beach. You can dine in the dining room but I usually go to the bar side. Sunday through Thursday is a fun time of music with Nate on the Keys and guests. Food is very good and I love the tuna carpaccio. You will need to call and make reservations. The show begins at 6 until 8:30.
Couldn't have been more impressed with our dining experience here. My better half locked into this restaurant as a must-go for our minimoon and, as always, she was right. Immediately upon walking in the ambiance felt right, intimate yet open. Our guy Zane filled our water's, a delight of a human being if you're so lucky to meet him as well. He's certainly a bit mischievous however we quickly met our server for the evening, Bridget. She guided us through the rest of our meal - our solid mix drinks, the devil's on horseback compliments of the chef, the brie fondue, the (Jersey!!) scallops, and the duck. Afterwards, while discussing our shared loved of doggos, they were kind enough to offer us their key lime pie, it was tangy/creamy with the classic graham cracker crust. Surrender yourself to this delight, words are almost inferior to describe it. Just an overall stupendous night.
What a pleasant surprise it was to find this place! They've put a level of care and attention into the food and ambiance which few others are able to carry off. The food and presentation was outstanding, but let's be honest. I came for a drink and some entertainment. I was not disappointed! The bar is great, and the crowd was a mix of everyone from every walk of life - all having a good time together. Loved the place, the atmosphere, and kindness of the staff and owners. Highly recommend.
Great place with really good food and drinks. Bev, our bartender was great! Fun drag show on the weekend.
Quaint little restaurant with amazing food and great service. Somewhat hard to find parking so show up a little early if you make reservations. They also have a few gluten free options.
We've eaten here many times over the years, so this is a compilation review. The restaurant side is always of high quality, year in and year out. The cocktails are creative and delicious. The pictured cocktail is the Blue Moon Martini with a flashing "ice cube" - campy but fun. The food, for us, has never been bad. The menu changes with seasons and at the reigning chef's whim, but never disappoints. Duck dishes, in many forms, are always well executed. Roasted oysters are a favorite. My wife enjoyed, on our last visit, the bolognese pasta. I've enjoyed chicken parmesan, where the chicken was both crispy yet moist and tender. Wine selections are varied in price, but always of good quality. Desserts have been delicious as well, but not small. At the end of the 1st two courses, we prefer sharing dessert. The staff have always been knowledgeable and friendly. Whenever we visit Rehoboth, Blue Moon is a required visit.
What a great experience... sat out on the veranda area... had the wedge salad and stuffed shrimp with an expresso martini... all were divine... service is excellent... Highly recommend.
Lion, one of the best executive chef in the state, excellent menu leading you to the edge with every item to the entree as well as to every dish. Plating is superior and quality is 💯 . Fresh and exciting every visit. Great cocktails and a decent wine and beer selection.
Blue Moon had a very good Easter brunch and all five of our meals were excellent. I had a fried catfish over creamy grits with a crawfish bearnaise sauce that was awesome. I would highly recommend this restaurant
This is a nice cozy spot with a date night atmosphere. They boast of good food and great service.. Fresh ingredients are definitely served here.. A little pricy but it's considered to be fine dining so it's expected. Go and eat there and let me know what you think👨🏿🍳
We chose this restaurant bc it's vegetarian friendly and we were not disappointed! I had the vegetarian selection which varies every day depending on what is fresh and new! They came out with a full plate of five dishes: summer fruit salad, summer vegetable medley, curried lentils, corn chowder, and fried green tomatoes. Definitely recommend!
This is definitely the spot for a good date or family night. They have something for everybody. Whether you need to not break the bank or living a little more on the wild and adventurous side, they have something for you! We had the cucumber basil mint gin drink and the orange crush. The orange crush was the BEST orange crush I’ve ever had. Then I dug into my entre which was the duck breast and I would definitely eat that again and again.
Had a steak dinner. Absolutely Grand. The steak was very tender. Everything that you would want and it was on a special highly recommend. Very nice restaurant
The cinnamon roll and crab benedict were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was kind and professional. Overall fantastic restaurant for brunch.
Great food, great service. We had the crab stuffed shrimp with asparagus, and my husband had the porkchop with broccoli. Both were excellent. We did not stay for the show this time. Maybe next time. Thank you for a pleasant dinner to celebrate the 4th.
We were blown away from our experience first time here we were treated like royalty. We were seated promptly and server was at table right away even being packed. The atmosphere was very cozy inviting and comfortable. Decor is relaxing and enjoyable definitely a cozy environment. The quality of the food was top notch presentation better than a 5 star restaurant. Attention to detail was met through our our stay. After our diner we made reservations for the Legends entertaing we went shopping then came back for the show. Tim was so personable was a please even being non stop busy made us feel like we were the only ones there excellent job. Charles the Manager always takes care of us took the time to ensure we had a good experience and personally made sure we got a good table for the show and after a short wait kept reassuring we are waiting for a table for you and will take care of you. Well to our surprise as busy as it was we got a table front and center for the show and after being seated promptly greeted by the server for the show made our experience top of class far exceeded our expectations.Chares is an asset and enjoyed our interaction with him he is the model of an excellent manager listens and takes care of the customer. Because of Charles and staff like Tim we will definitely always make the Blue Moon our stop Everytime we come to town. Thank you Charles and staff for an outstanding experience in all aspects. If in area definitely give restraint a try you will not be disappointed by fat beyond a 5 star experience.
My husband and I dined there several weeks ago and have put this place on the top of our list of favorite restaurants in Rehoboth. We each had the corn and crab bisque (heavenly) and shared the stuffed shrimp. Everything was seasoned perfectly, presentations were excellent. Being unabashedly unashamed to say we’re “foodie snobs” we walked out of there happy, happy, happy! And our server was extremely well versed on every dish. Can’t wait to visit again next summer.
We stumbled upon this place as it was close to our hotel and it was fantastic!!! We sat in the bar with an extremely entertaining Piano player/singer! Our food and service were exceptional! We had filets, lobster rissoto, just perfect! The ice cream cake dessert fed all four of us and was amazing too!! Just a great time and will be back for sure!!
I went to the Friday night Drag Spotlight show, and it was amazing. The service, the show, the food!!!! Incredible, I cant wait to be back!
We have always had a delicious meal with excellent service. Some days/nights they have specials and entertainment.
If looking for an elegant dinner, with wonderful cocktails and wine, Blue Moon will not disappoint. I have visited several times over the years and the food and service is consistently excellent. While there is no dedicated gluten free menu, many of the dishes are naturally GF and some dishes can easily be modified to accommodate those with Celiac disease. Thanks for another wonderful dinner.
We just had the most amazing experience celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday here! The atmosphere was upscale and charming — perfect for a special occasion. The drinks were strong and delicious, the food was absolutely excellent, and the service was attentive and on point all evening. It truly was an evening to remember, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. Highly recommend this gem in Rehoboth Beach!
The Blue Moon holds the title of Rehoboth’s first upscale restaurant, and for more than 30+ years it has remained a staple of the local dining scene. I’ve been coming since the mid-1990s, and it has never failed to deliver an evening that’s both entertaining and memorable. The food and service consistently exceed expectations, and unlike most places, you can linger over a long dinner without ever feeling rushed. Of all the restaurants in Rehoboth, this is probably where I’ve spent the most over the years—because it’s worth it. For me, “long dinner” means starting with several cocktails, moving through starters, a hearty entrée, a few bottles of wine, and finishing with dessert, all in the company of friends or family. I have so many menu favorites, it’s impossible to list them all. The Blue Moon isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a Rehoboth institution, and an experience to savor from the first toast to the last bite.
Went to celebrate my birthday at the bingo brunch and had a fantastic time. The service was great. My table all ordered different items ( Belgian waffle, short rib hash, steak and eggs) and everything tasted delicious. You can tell that this restaurant uses quality ingredients. Kudos to the cook staff. Everything tasted amazing and was lovely in its presentation. I will definitely be back.
Everything at the Blue Moon was pretty incredible. The atmosphere is great. The staff, really amazing. And the food was so delicious. We've had the Filet-mignon, Jumbo Stuffed Shrimp, Scallops, Fried Green Tomatoes, roasted Brussels Sprouts, EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. I've always been a foodie and this place really impressed me! We've been visiting Rehoboth for years and always walked past this place and it was always crowded. Today I decided to make a reservation. This will definitely be our go to dinner place when visiting!
Fried green tomatoes and Wedge Salad appetizers were great, so was the Zinfandel Wine from the wine menu. Stuffed shrimp entree was just okay, so was the steak. Both of these were okay not great. Service and ambiance was nice but the entrees in general could of been better
Made reservations for dinner but had no knowledge that there was also a show. Got some pictures of the drag show. My husband and I had the chicken parm for 2. It was ok. The fried green tomatoes were really good and the crab and corn chowder for appetizers. Oreo cheesecake for dessert was yummy. Husband had a couple beers. I had a coffee. Plan on a bill for dinner and tip. We did not have a good view of the show. I had to keep getting up and was in the way of every server that passed into the kitchen where our table was located. This was very distracting during dinner as well as the giant plastic screen which was placed between our table and the one next to us. The place is not wired for social distancing. Other than that we had a good time.
Nice place. Their nachos was great. Clean and well maintained. Friendly and professional staff. Their live entertainment is enjoyable. I liked the stout beer I had. The stake I had was good too, but I feel I should have ordered medium well instead of the medium rare I had.
This was a pleasant restaurant. It had a very nice atmosphere with fresh roses and attentive, caring staff. We had to put a deposit down for the reservation but it comes off of the meal. We had a quiet table and our water glass was never less than half full. I had the watermelon daiquiri which was refreshing for a warm summer night. My daughter loves pot pie and she enjoyed this one. She would have preferred potatoes to mushrooms, but it was a very filling meal. I had the crab cake sandwich which had lot of lump crab and a sauce that accompanied it on the brioche roll was nice. Fries were average. I would have preferred a salad instead which would have elevated the meal. Many happy smiling customers including a couple sharing their annual anniversary dinner with glowing martinis. This is a restaurant to try when in Rehoboth.
Went for a drag show. I enjoyed myself there a lot, however considering it's a gay bar I would think they would be more sensitive to correctly gendering people (I was misgendered 4 times). Other than that it was great!
Very quaint restaurant. The food was good, not amazing. Docked 1 star as the food took a little over an hour to arrive apparently because the show had started after we placed our order and many people flooded the bar with orders. But our waiter Kim was nice to bring us another round of drinks on the house. Overall, nice atmosphere, good food and drinks, just don't arrive too soon before/after the show starts.
I liked this place very friendly staff and also their entertainment is good make sure you find out the time before you reach and also reserving the table is a good idea. The food was great liked the steak and nachos also they have good variety of cocktail to choose from also you can ask them to customize they will do it if possible. They initial served the bun with their special honey flavored butter it was great.
Food and drinks were great! A bit cramped in the dining room, but we enjoyed our meal enough to let that go. We had the lamb and stroganoff. Started with the sweet corn and crab bisque which I highly recommend! We went on a Saturday and I was glad we had a reservation.
This was an "ok" overall dining experience but would not label this as a fine dining experience compared to the many top rated restaurant options in the area. 1. Service was prompt however we learned their payment system did not accept and had issues with discover credit cards. Strongly recommend having a visa card as a backup. 2. One of the meals ordered was a ribeye steak that looked cooked perfectly on the exterior however upon slicing into it, was not cooked to requested temperature. The flavor was okay with some chew and a decent amount of fat. 3. The atmosphere was quiet with minimal lighting (intimate setting) however limited space in-between tables. May not be ideal for families with young children. 4. For a $200+ total meal, we expected a "fine dining experience", again this was just okay. Hopefully improvements will be made.
Their food is delicious but their menu is not very allergy friendly. They have zero desert options for people who have to be gluten free, which, for a restaurant or its stature is embarrassing. It’s time for them to take a holistic view of their menu if they want to continue to be a premiere restaurant.
Went to Blue Moon mid week to use a gift certificate. Visit began with the maitre'd' trying to seat us on top of another couple in a restaurant that was mostly empty at the time. Of course we had a reservation. Ordered the rib eye and spouse had the crab cake sandwich, split a mixed salad. The food was nothing special. Spouse noted the crab cake tasted "heavy" perhaps from filler. The steak which lists at $52 was nothing special, came with only one side which at that price seems stingy. The mixed salad was the best part of the meal. The server was excellent. Frankly we found their menu to be over priced and otherwise would not have dined there. Needless to say we have no interest in returning. Rehobeth has so many other fine dining places with better price points. Next night spouse enjoyed the crab cake at Henlopen City Oyster House which she felt was lighter and infinitely more tasty.
My boyfriend and I went there last night for dinner. A supremely disappointing experience. We ordered cocktails before dinner and they were OK although the barkeeper was heavy handed with the ice. Starters were adequate. I had the fried green tomatoes , and he had the market salad. Neither was particularly inspiring. The entrees were a disaster. He had the Ribeye Steak. It was inconsistently cooked throughout, and the accompanying potatoes were dry to the point of almost being like chips. I had the Provenceal Swordfish (pictured). I haven't seen plating this bad in a long time. The fish was served over white rice and peas (the peas were clearly frozen). The swordfish itself was overcooked and topped with something resembling jarred tomato sauce and capers. Scatter about the plate were jarred olives of no distinction; one rolled onto the table when our server put the plate in front of me. Service was awkward. Our server addressed us as "Gentlemen" in the most perfunctionary manner and her interaction with us was very stilted. The interior of the place is oddly laid out and you may have other diners sitting uncomfortably close to you. Blue Moons come about very rarely. Avoid this Blue Moon and opt for one of the numerous other options available nearby.
I am writing this review with a heavy heart. I had the pleasure of dining at Blue Moon last year and it was an overall lovely experience. Unfortunately, my latest visit to Blue Moon was anything but lovely. My group of six were forced into seating that should have been for only four, requiring a guest at the table next to us to get up from his chair and move so we could get out for a trips to the restroom. Menu items not available , a routine wine not available, and long wait for cocktails which resulted in half filled glass and warm. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chaotic which resulted in an unpleasant dining experience which is not what we were expecting. I will add that the food was good. My greatest disappointment is that I wrote to the owners detailing our experience and expected/requested some response. I gave them another chance to respond to the letter by calling them in hopes for a return call. I still have not heard from them. Ignoring patrons concerns is not a good business model. How unfortunate for all of us.
No response from owners for charges that should not happen and under cooked and not rendered fat on lamb and see violations on county. This place has been going down and owners do not care and quality declined a lot Update: Owner replied that they had replied to the email?! They did not! They did not resolve issue for this year either. Did not think they would lie about replies. Shame. Email with no reply attached and owner update
Came here for a friends birthday to see the drag show. Granted I knew going into it the food wasn’t going to be top quality….BUT it was atrocious. My fish wasn’t cooked at all and completely raw. The steaks my friends ordered literally had an odor and smelled spoiled. Mashed potatoes were clearly just boxed and microwaved. I’m sorry but I’m not paying 50 bucks for a microwaved steak. We also ordered drinks and simply just wanted to switch out for something else (did not ask for a free drinks) and the manager said “we don’t give out free samples”. We brought our own cake for the bday girl they didn’t provide plates or anything to serve it. Told my friend “next time don’t bring a cake”. Manager was totally unprofessional. He took the entrees off the bill but didn’t apologize for anything. This is also coming from somebody who has worked in the service industry for years and I was absolutely appalled.
I had a very disappointing experience 2/14/26. I had a reservation for dinner with friends at Blue Moon which had been made through American Express. When I got to the restaurant, I was told they saw my reservation, but it was not reflected on "the list," which I assumed meant I had not been assigned a table. I had received a call from the restaurant the evening before confirming that I was still coming, so was surprised by the mix up, but confident it would be favorable resolved. The host went to the owner to figure out the situation. The owner came out, took a look at me and my reservation and very quickly and rudely said they don't honor American Express reservations and there was nothing he could/would do for us. American Express said the restaurant is listed as accepting their reservation service and Blue Moon certainly called me the night before to confirm. While our group of 4 was racially mixed, I can only assume it was not what the owner was interested in. We will not be returning to Blue Moon.
