Very cozy atmosphere. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. You have the option of eating indoors or outdoors. The food was fresh and delicious.
I'm a great cook... But I'm sick so sometime i can't cook at all... So yesterday i was out shopping... I was about to go to this pizza joint right down block from the store i was shopping at... Once i get there, they didn't take cards... I hate that cause i never travel with cash... I begin to feel bad no energy to walk any further... So i told my family Mexican it is... And boy did i make a great choice... We walked in and was addressed so gracefully... Seated right away... We ordered our drinks... My grandson and myself had our virgin drinks... The other's had regular and water... First time there so i really studied the menu cause I'm a vegan but my family eats meat... Once the food came we said our grace and dig in lol... The best Mexican food i ever had... The drinks were amazing also... I'm so glad the pizza joint didn't take cards... They have a customer for life... I'm a die hard Knick fan... So they will know me as soon as i walk in...
Awesome food about time real Mexican food has come to this neighborhood!!! Delicious food tons of flavor! The fajitas are huge! Crisp Veggies!! Yummmm!!! Defiantly go for a side of tostones and some sautéed veggies can't go wrong. Oh almost for got the best part really friend staff!
Food was amazing.. I got a rib eye steak (well done) and it was the juiciest meat ever! So tender and delicious flavor.. I also ordered a margarita and it was sooo good.. The staff are really nice, their customer service was on point! I highly recommend this place 🤗
Everything was fresh, food was great and the portion was beyond expected had some take home for lunch tomorrow. The service was great, waitress was very attentive. I will definitely be back!
Delicious, clean, no bells and whistles simply Good eats freshly prepared. Abundant portions, with the lovely option of either a salad or rice and beans to accompany your meal. That's a nice thing to choose from if you're feeling like you want to be a bit healthier and get yourself a salad alongside your big honkin burrito or enchiladas etc...
Great food and very nice atmosphere! The staff was very friendly. Was very surprised at the other reviews because they definitely went above and beyond. We will definitely be back.
Always the best Mexican food and drink around. This small, locally popular spot has friendly staff and great food.
Great food and service! I have been here three times so far and loved everything I’ve had with coworkers and going solo! Real gem for the prices!!
The food was so good and the portions were better than expected for the price. They make the drinks strong and our server was the sweetest. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend if you’re in the area!!
Best latin food in town for reasonable price ,large tasty drinks , very clean atmosphere. Fast service 👍👍up
Food was excellent! I ordered through Grub Hub! The food arrived at a great temperature. Food was fresh! They even deliver alcoholic beverages which are a plus! I'll definitely order again from them!!
Wow! They have super tasty food and yummy drinks (which you can order a pitcher of as well). My friend ordered the Salmon, it was divine! Super moist and tender. He couldn't stop talking about how good it was after every bite I had to get a taste of his dish lol. And he was definitely right!! I ordered tacos and they were really good too. The staff is fast and really nice. We are definitely going back for more food and drinks. Worth every star 🌟
I love this little neighborhood gem I have found. I have completed orders via app, via telephone and in person, and I have not been disappointed. The food is very good, deliveries are made quickly and my orders arrive nicely packed. My overall ordering preference is over the phone or in person, because instead of paying extra fees, the money goes to them and I get to add extra delicious vegetarian tacos. This is now my fifth order with them and they continue to be just as friendly and attentive with the service as if I were a first time customer. Oh, and their tostones are very yummy too. Buen aprovecho 😊
I love this restaurant. As a Mexican American (Chicano) from California, my standards and expectations for Mexican food are very VERY high. The food here is sooooo delicious, I have had several Birthdays at this establishment. I can't begin to tell you all of the delicious items on the menu, because me and my partner have been going here since they opened, which was before they even had a liquor license because the food was the literal best Mexican food in the neighborhood. And, it still is!!! Even the non Mexican food is super tasty. They have a huge menu, but my favorites are the Molé enchiladas, the three different flautas, (carne, pollo and queso seco), and the pollo nachos( I know they aren't true Mexican, but who cares), and lately the Tinga tostada are usually my go-to. If I'm feeling a little less hungry, a piscado taco with a side of beans and rice are my go-to as well. If you are in the Ridgewood area of Queens, you have to check out Las margaritas. It's sooo GOOOOOD!!!!
I absolutely LOVE the food here!! I grew up on Mexican food so I can vouch for how it should taste. Although it's not the same as my grandmother's cooking, it's still very enjoyable 😊. I WILL be back! Oh and the Horchata is DELICIOUS!!!!
From the moment we walked in. The wait staff was friendly and attentive to our requests. We had a big group with kids so they quickly adjusted a couple of table to accommodate the group. As for the food. The portions were plentiful and the food was great. With the amount of sides we got with our main entries I feel we should have asked to add another table. They had a large selection of fresh fruit juices for the kids and authentic Coke Cola important from Mexico which tasted a little sweeter. The one reason i didn't give it a full 5 stars. At the time we went. Las Margaritas were still in the process of getting their liquor license. I couple of us were really in the mood for Margaritas. Other than that. Great place to stop by for a quick bite. Added: revisited the restaurant. Still agree with what I wrote previously. Great news. Las Margaritas has their liquor license and the Margaritas are flowing.
Great little restaurant with good views. Food tasted good, and a huge great tasting margarita, how could you not have one!
Great Mexxo Mezcal Cocktail 🍸.. The lunch special is delicious 💯
I never ate inside the restaurant. I would always have delivery (atleast 10+). It always came quick and hit the spot. Everything I ever ordered was amazing with the exception of fried calamari…why did I get fried calamari from a mexican place?
I wish I could write this in Spanish but I’m not that smart. Had to finally give this place its due. When I visit my friend who lives right down Freshpond, this place has been my favorite for lunch. Been lucky not having to wait for a table. As you sit you see more folks come in and a lot of deliveries going out. Always good signs. It’s not so loud you can’t hear yourself think. A simple layout but plenty of room. The servers are always bustling but are on top of everything. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Even the salsa for the complimentary chips I could take a jar full home. Many choices from just burritos, taquitos, to massive platters. Sweet plantains are my favorite side. A little sugar and a little crust from the pan. Had stuffed poblano peppers with an amazing amount of cheese and sauce I wish I had bread to sop up. Nice array of desserts, to go with fresh brewed coffee. Also drinks galore if that’s your fancy. Fantastic little gem in Queens.
delicious with huge portions and nice staff. will be back!
Their salsa was so good ! Asked for a refill. Overall all of the food was amazing and well seasoned. We ordered mojito pitcher and that was very nice too. Food took some time to come but it was delicious. Their fried calamari, tested super fresh. The service was great too, she was super nice and kept checking on us.
Regularly pick up food here — pozole, flautas, horchata, chips and salsa, guacamole, rice and beans, etc etc etc. Always hits the spot and we love the friendly neighborhood vibes
I love these guys! They are so nice and their food is great. I get their pozole every time I am sick and I have recovered every time so far.
Food is delicious and service is great. I've been there for brunch, lunch and dinner.
By far the best Mexican spot in the area of Ridgewood. The staff is pleasant, the restaurant itself just gives happy vibes when you walk in. And the food let me tell you went 3 times in a week!!!!! Highly greatly recommend
We've been coming here for the last 5 years ! It's Always our go to for a quick bite or a hearty dinner ! The drinks and food never disappoint.
While 2 other Mexican restaurants were empty on a Saturday afternoon, Las Margaritas had plenty of customers. We ordered a steak burrito bowl and flautas. I asked for chopped jalapeños and they were brought to the table. The tostones were fresh and soft and they had a creamy garlic sauce that complemented them. Guacamole was good and I always enjoy radishes the few times they are offered. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices were average. Monitors had college football which was appreciated.
Love this place! Dine in or take out the food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is lovely and treat us well everytime.
A very clean and friendly Mexican joint on Fresh Pond. They make great margaritas, but I think I'm addicted to their tostadas! I order from the train (by phone) and the regular and carnitas are my favorites. Almast a taco salad with lots of lettuce tomatoes, onion, guacamole and sour cream. There may be more 'upscale' Mexican restaurants nearby that I also enjoy but this is my (almost daily) go-to!
Nice Mexican spot in the neighborhood! They have a good selection of food and drinks! We enjoyed our food a lot. It was delicious. They have great margaritas for sure and you could get a pitcher if you’d like which is great for sharing. I love their Calamari and tacos. Great service and nice servers. They have really good lunch and happy hour specials too.
Great food a little pricey but worth it and the drinks are on point
Was a nice crowd, but I got there in time for no wait. The food was good as well as the drinks. Price not bad either.
Can’t complain the two times I visited this place with my family. Is not that pricey, good amount of food, drinks are tasty, and the service is great.
This place is good! I usually get tacos, burritos, tortas or one of their meat platters. They are not stingy with the food. The overall vibe of the restaurant is cool. It is clean. I recommend Las Margaritas. A plus for me, is they deliver food, and they are pretty quick.
Mexican comfort food in overly generous portions. Wonderful Margaritas & large adult beverage selections* Simple seating in a large space. Deff recommend if you are hungry & want great drinks!
I visited this location for dinner and the waiter that served us was and is very rude and not friendly at all. This is the second time that she waits on me and she needs to be re- trained to have patience and be courteous to customers. She is the oldest waiter there. Thank you.
Personally have not dined in at this restaurant but have ordered food to go several times and have always had a positive experience. Good portion for the price & freshly made food. They are always well staffed and polite. The dining area always looks clean as well.
Restaurant was very busy and our server new, so there were a couple of small missteps with our dinner. This is understandable but reflected in the scoring. Food itself is consistently good; straightforward Mexican fare, with the mole our normal go-to. But the main reason we come here (over the copious other Mexican options in the hood) is for the drinks in their namesake. Lots of frozen options, tasty and affordable. Overall, not standout, but a perfectly okay option in Ridgewood.
Drinks were on point. I only needed one Henny Colada to have a buzz. Now most of our dishes were great but mine wasn't the best. I got the Ribeye Mexicana. I didn't get ribeye meat. I got thin sliced sirloin. That's my only complaint. My partner ordered something similar and got a whole ribeye. So I was confused. But I ate it anyway because i will not waste food. The food took a while to come but was good. Service was okay.
It's fine. Standard New York tacqueria that's a bit expensive anda bit misguidedly gringo-fied (lots of bad guac in tacos, etc). Food is merely ok. There are much better tacqueria options in Ridgewood as you get nearer to the Brooklyn border, and far far better options in Bushwick or especially Roosevelt Ave or Sunset Park. This place does have a fairly comfortable dining room, for what it's worth. Servers make a lot of mistakes, and don't apologise for it. Ample electrical outlets !
Good food, good drinks, but they play the music too loud and turn it up and down all the time in the middle of your meal. It can feel like you're suddenly in a nightclub mid-burrito then its back to normal by dessert
The staff is great! Good service . I followed this restaurant from their location in Bayridge and Elmhurst. However , since they open in Ridgewood their SALSA is getting very watery. It runs right off the chips. It doesn't look fresh , doesn't taste fresh, is not even the right red color, I can't find one shred of tomatoes in it . They are cutting corners. Also, their rice can be very salty at times. I keep telling them but they don't seem to make improvements. Every time I order from home, they forget something. I realy like them so I hope the Manager or woner sees this .
The food is ok but far from authentic they have great presentation and fast service. Very clean and welcoming establishment. I ordered the steak huarache and burrito the steak was pretty bland and the huarache did not taste fresh it had a frozen taste to it and we were not given hot sauce that usually comes with these types of dishes. The chips salsa was pretty bland and the guacamole was not fresh but I did enjoy the shrimp cocktail. 3.5 out of 5
Not sure what's changed but the quality of the food has gone down while prices went up. They've also forgotten my orders multiple times and I've had to call after waiting over an hour. Got an al pastor burrito yesterday and there was literally no pineapple in it, and the pork was dry. Time to look for a new spot.
This place was recommended by a friend after being disappointed by La Casita Mexicana off of Metropolitan Ave. First few orders were great, but recently I started to notice an incremental decline. Specifically, the tostadas were a soggy mess. I don’t know if there’s a new chef, but I’m afraid I will need to find a new place. Sorry.
You wait a little bit for the food but that's because it's made fresh. Very tasty, reasonable prices with huge portions means great value. Drinks are great too and not overpriced. Happy hour deal is super 2 for $10
It was an average Mexican food place. The meat was too blend. Went their for margaritas but was completely dissatisfied. Barely any alcohol & too sweet. Their hot sauce was delicious but had to wait 10 min to ask for one. Usually I get it with the food. I would recommend 4 Caminos few stores down. Margaritas taste great and so does the food.
I'm just giving my opinion on how it went for my group and myself. Service was ok, staff didn't really give you that attentive service one should get. The decor was ok at best with Mexican culture. Food was also ok at best. The one thing we did enjoy, was there Chips and salsa mix made with mangos. To be honest, I doubt I would go back again.
Been here three times in the last 2 weeks and the first two times they didn't bring out my appetizer. Both times I had to ask. I also got the same order all three times and the burrito came out smaller each time I went. They do know how to make a mojito I'll give them that but definitly after the second drink they water it down and load it with sugar. My last gripe is when you ask for a side of sour cream they charge you $3 for it and bring you out basically a tub. KEY WORD SIDE.
We decided to give a second chance to this place, last time we order for delivery we got cold tacos and today wasn’t the exception, the waitres was a ghost so hard to find her for napkins, a glass and the bill, the chorizo tacos were cold, the pastor tacos don’t even have a taste, this is not how authentic Mexican food tastes, my tamarindo margarita was only tequila with sugar, never got the tangy taste of tamarindo, I ordered the freeze one and I got it all melted. If you want tacos make them at home this place has only sad and cold tacos.
Unfortunately the place can not keeps up with being clean. The waitress touch every and did not see them once put hand sanitizer or wash their hands. Saw how they pick up the dirty dishes and prepare the drink right after. They touch the decorative fruits and limes with their hands that are dirty. When eating out this can be something that you may go through. Perhaps double think when eating at this restaurant.
From my personal experience the food is decent. They do have a wide selection of dishes to choose from. They even have a selection of American dishes such as burgers and fries. But for me what stood out the most was the drinks. They make an excellent Margarita but my favorite drink was the bulldog made with guava juice and a bottle of Corona they mount on top of the drink with a beer holder. It was absolutely my favorite drink they served. But despite the decent food and marvelous drinks they served. The service wasn’t that great, i found it lacking. That’s why instead of giving a 5 star rating I’m only giving 2 stars. When my fiancé asked the waitress if she could substitute the rice which was served with the meal for plantains the waitress wasn’t considerate to her needs and instead expressed the idea that the rice couldn’t be switched for something else. That the meal came the way it was mentioned on the menu and that we would have to order what was requested as a side order. I was perfectly fine with ordering the plantains as a side. But then when came time to receive our food the waitress forgot the side dish of plantains and I was forced to pick up the side dish after a 20 minute wait after we had already received our food. She seemed unprofessional for her lack of service and rude behavior. I mentioned this only as the highlight of my experience. Overall the service there is a bit on the disorganized side. Ranging from a disagreeable hostess to other times we went there we felt rushed so that the next line of customers could take our seats. My last experience there was the rude waitress and I think it’s safe to say I may not be returning. If you love Spanish food I highly recommend buying food from them but only as take out.
Expected better. Ordered a pozole with two tostadas. One tostada was completely wet with water I’m assuming from the lettuce, the other tostada’s tortilla was completely burnt underneath. The pozole was not edible as it tasted like oregano water and its pork was stale. I was not able to eat nor enjoy the meal.
Didn’t send the soup we ordered that was $16!! Food is very bland and flavorless except the rice which tastes gross. The chicken enchilada are strips of chicken inside. Don’t recommend
The chicken on my salad was juicy and flavorful and loads of avocado but underneath was a collection of stale veggies, wilted carrots, not the freshest of red peppers. The salsa was bland. The coconut margarita was ok, good flavor and not too sour but not sure of the alcohol content.
They are the worst. How do you take an order from a person wait 20 min and then call and say I love to far for them to deliver I live in middle village not Mexico and then to tell me that I love so far the battery on the bike died. What kinda service is that I will never ever go there again shame on them. Smh
Incompetent delivery drivers even worse waitresses, i ordered a torta de milanesa and i live 5 blocks away, it took 3 phone calls after one hour wait , i ultimately had to pick up the food myself , TERRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT EAT HERE
I ARRIVE AT THE RESTAURANT AT 9:15pm. I asked the bartender how long would it be for a table outside, she told me 25 minutes because they are full. At 10:00pm a couple got up and when i asked to be seated they told me they were no longer seating. I hate to pull the race card but everyone there was spanish except me and my friend. I felt like the staff catered to their people and just didn't care about me and my friend waiting for 45 minutes. Also when i approached the manager he told me the cook is overwhelmed so the kitchen is closed. Service is everything so if you cant provide the same service for each customer that is a big issue!!
Pretty disappointed. Waited over 3 (three) hours to get our meal. The food was tasteless, bland. Requested to speak to the manager. The manager tells the waiter he can't talk to us. I do not recommend this place. Very disappointed 😞.
TERRIBLE SERVICE. I got my food wrong three times and when I called the waitresses shrugged her shoulders like she could care less, DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS U WANT YOUR FOOD TO BE WRONG AND IF U ORDER DELIVERY EXPECT THEM TO WRITE THE WRONG NUMBER AND HAVE YOU CALL THEM 5 times before u can even get ur food
Our party of 6 stopped by for dinner around 7. We notice how understaffed they were for their dinner rush. We're seated, greeted, and told its Cash only that night as the internet was down. We place our order shortly after as we knew the slow service was likely. Our pina coladas and agua frescas were a hit with everyone. Appetizers and entrees were a total disappointment. The breading for the calamari would slide off when you picked them up. The meat in the tacos was tough and full of gristle because they use cheap meats. The chicken milanesa was flavorless, borderline burnt, and so tough we needed a steak knife. The steak was no different than the tacos. I had asked for skirt but i received sirloin. The only child in the group found a long black hair in his burger. All 6 entrees were left barely touched. No one checked in on us after the food arrived so we had to wave someone down and ask for our check. The waitress apologized about the hair in the food and asked why we waited so long to bring this to her attention and let the child sit with hair in his food. Had she checked in, looked over, or even seemed the least bit interested in us this situation could have been forgotten. She was inappropriate and that's when we decided to cut our losses and file this place as "never again." Save yourself a frustratingly experience and go anywhere else.
I was there today and there was a roach crawling on the wall right next to my table. The waiter came and used a book to swipe it off the wall onto my very expensive jacket. She then gave us shots of tequila on the house and said “here so you won’t remember what happened”. Customer service here is no good. Jackson heights and Astoria is much better.
Originally i gave this place 4 stars... but i went here recently on 5/8/2021 and had to wait over 1 hour to receive my food. When food arrived it was burnt. I will never recommend. Please beware place sucks. Waitress blamed every thing on cook but still had to wait 20 mins for drinks.
I just gave this place another chance and felt cheated . I ordered a torta and got 90% lettuce an d tomatoes with 3 whole jalapeños cut in half in only one side of my sandwich.. this place use to be sooo great now all I can possibly eat is the nachos since they throw things together including the kitchen sink... DO BETTER !!!!!!
I walked by last nite, on my way home from work. Around 6.30 pm, their outdoor seating area was PACKED to the point of being over-crowded, with no table distancing measures in place. In order to keep your own social distance to get around this monstrous group of people not wearing masks, you'd have to walk in the middle of the street. I'm all for businesses trying to make a buck right now, but seeing this really bothered me last nite. I feel like the residents of this (my) neighborhood have no regard for health and safety, and clearly, the businesses don't, either.
I can tell you this place is not clean. The waitress was cleaning the table with her hand and then touch the utensil. The food was really really bad. I can’t even eat after first bite and I felt throwing out. I don’t recommend this place at all.
I ordered 3 drinks(double tequila{espolon, nothing crazy} and sprite) and paid $85, and they already added a tip to the bill and had the nerve to ask for more. I have never been charged so much for so little, like $50 I understand but $85?! Ridiculous, my friend said the food was shit.
honestly food is good but everytime i order food to pick up, my order is always wrong and there is a small portion of my food. I called back the lady telling her my order is wrong and she is always rude and inconsiderate. better customer service please
I used to love this restaurant. My recent two experiences were horrible. 1) I ordered takeout. Since when do you put American cheese on nachos?! Disgusting. It usually has Oaxaca cheese. Seems like you’re cheaping out. Your prices go up but quality is going down. Paid $15 for a gross meal. 2) Dined in with a friend last week. Took 30 mins just to get a water and a lemonade. It took 40 mins to get our food. Other tables got their meal before us when we arrived and ordered before them. When it came time to pay I told the server how to split the credit charges. She asked me twice and she still got it mixed up. She charged me $30 when it was suppose to be 13$. Unfortunately you have lost a loyal customer. Do better…
The waitress was very arrogant bought me the wrong dish didn’t even apologize. Ignore me and then forgot one of the side orders I had a run in back of her to get the side order . The manager was even worst when I told him that he needs to train his waitress and how she bought the wrong order didn’t even apologize didn’t even ask me to change it he kept asking me is everything OK? Hello ..Are you OK? How do these people have businesses the worst Mexican restaurant I ever been to.
This establishment is absolutely unprofessional! Seats outside the restaurant were full, therefore we asked for an approximate wait time. We were told 25 minutes, after waiting 40 minutes we decided to follow-up. After following up, the waitress was clueless and cited she didn’t know we were waiting. She then proceeded to tell us the cook in the kitchen was overwhelmed ( Should of said that from the start) and they were unable to take anymore orders and seat customers even though there was a seat available. I asked to speak with the management and he also seemed not to care. I hate to pull the race card, but we were the only African Americans waiting to be seated and in the vicinity at the time. In addition upon talking with the waitress, she initially greeted me with an attitude. Needless to say, my night was blown and I was unable to go somewhere due to adjusted schedules of other restaurants in NYC. If it’s late or in general stay away from this place! I never leave reviews but this experience left me no choice.
Well what can I say. I came in at 7pm and I am still waiting for the food. The other table got here after us and ordered 5 min before us and they are about to finish eating and we are here waiting for our food. The only reason I am still waiting is because I've waited long enough. If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. Smh.
Very disappointed! I ordered delivery and the tortillas were mushy when they arrived and crumbled as you ate them. The tacos lacked flavor and the guacamole and chips that I ordered only arrived with FOUR chips. I've never experienced anything like that before. I'll be ordering from other restaurants in the area next time.
My mail slot says in giant letters “no menus please” yet you still manage to litter my mailbox with your menus. Respect peoples wishes and do not distribute flyers to people who clearly do not want them.
I’m extremely concerned about the food safety practices at this establishment. I recently placed a takeout order and, to my shock, swallowed a piece of plastic that was in my steak burrito. Upon further inspection, I found additional pieces of burnt plastic in the food. Since consuming it, I’ve been experiencing stomach discomfort and I’m genuinely worried about the potential effects of chemical exposure from the plastic. Depending on how my symptoms progress, I may need to seek medical attention. This experience was unacceptable and poses a serious health risk. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before ordering from this restaurant.
Food the best Service very slow and have to flag waiters many times , and as long as you speak some words she will run more than 40 minutes for food and no check ups ... Like I work this for 16 years ... No way you do not go and check up on your tables and let them know in is taking a little longer or do they need another drink in a middle 🤔 How ever I did do like this service before.. Waitress rude and careless .. Like broooo .. Thurs nigth
I’m really really sorry to see how this place has become one of a really low quality food, me and my family used to love this place. My last order was a delivery but I was way too disappointed. The tacos dorados were mushy, the chicken inside was cut in big chunks, the vegetables in the salad that came with it were cut in big pieces, specially the peppers 🤦🏻♀️, the barbacoa was cut in cubes? Really? What happened? Is the chef new? Or even knows Mexican food? We will have to order from a different place from now on.
