The Outpost

After living in Riverside for 4 years, I must say this is my favorite place to eat. In the past month I’ve already come 3 times and have little to complain about. The workers here are all so friendly and the vibes here are great. One thing you should absolutely get if you don’t mind tomatoes is the Burrata plate. My favorite pizzas here would be the Classic Margherita and the Avocado Pizza.

Great casual dining! Featuring Wood-fired 12” pizzas, and large, fresh salads. We enjoyed the authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients in a stylishly modern atmosphere. The dining room aesthetic is worth noting! It is modern, almost futuristic with its stark lighting. (Too bright for my liking, but others in the party appreciated the contrast to “restaurants where it’s too dark to see your food”) It incorporates a clean, soothing color palate with swaths of white, accented with oakmoss green. Plenty of plants soften the more modern fixtures, offsetting the large stainless steel coolers in the back entrance. Finally, geometric 3D tile-work flooring around the restrooms keeps it playful! The Fried Olives and Marcona Almonds appetizer was a huge hit! Though we were disappointed the Charcuterie was not available. There is a Decent wine selection with some unique offerings. Carafes of water on the table is always appreciated. We ordered the Green Goddess salad with avocado and watermelon radishes. It was full of chopped veggies, mixed lettuces. Topped with the optional grilled chicken was a great addition! Pizza options were tasty! The red sauce has a slight kick to it. The Pepperoni Calabrese was very spicy to our friend who cannot tolerate heat and even the ones who like some spice also agreed it was hot! Desserts are a highlight and a must try is the Passion Panna Cotta. The staff were really more like friendly guides. Chatty and upbeat, offering recommendations and generally making us feel welcome. We will be back!

We had a really good experience here for the first time last week. The food was really good and I loved the little boot glasses our drinks came in. We both ordered pizza and they were great! My husband is vegan and ordered his pizza with vegan cheese and it was great. We ordered the flight of desserts and they were all good. Great service too! Only small negative was that my husband’s pizza came out 10/15 minutes before mine and he felt bad eating his before I had mine but it was starting to get cold so I insisted he just ate. I’m not sure if only one pizza is made at a time, otherwise all was great!

Amazing addition to the city! Finally a place we will visit frequently. This pizza was amazing and the burrata. Came here for lunch, the aesthetic was beautiful and the food quality is unmatched. Have been waiting for something like this. Will return and excited to show friends and family.

Their pizza was freshly made! The diavola pizza was spicy enough to satisfy a sausage craving. the veggies pizza is probably one of my favorite vegetable pizzas! Great service—super cute atmosphere.

Outpost Pizza in Riverside is amazing! The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavor — easily some of the best pizza I’ve had in the area. Our server, Julio, made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. Excellent service and delicious food — we’ll definitely be coming back!

I used to live here but travel out here quite a few times a year and it’s always fun trying new things I see pop open. This place is amazing! The people are real kind and attentive (not in an annoying way). The wine and pizza I had were amazing. My husband also had the charcuterie and a beer and both were phenomenal. The atmosphere was very peaceful and the music playlist made sense for it (a mix of old and new). I sat by the window and the waitress was very nice and scooted another small table for us. The restrooms were clean. All in all I’d wait an hour for my food and be ok because I just liked being there and eating their amazing food. Best pizza I’ve ever had hands down.

Food was good! Loved the Caesar Outpost Salad. Highly recommend their house made ranch!! The crusted parm topper is so good! We also ordered the Margherita Pizza. Super yum and flavorful. Also has a nice little spice kick that adds to the flavor 😍🤤 service was also very attentive and looked out to make sure we has a great experience. All the plates clean 🤤

This was our first time trying the Outost and we will definetly be back. We started with the bruschetta. The baguette was lightly toasted and perfectly seasoned. The bruschetta tasted so light and fresh. That was my son's favorite item. The salad dressing on the salad also tasted delicious. The wood fired pizza had an amazing sauce. We got the dessert flight and liked the peanut butter one the best.

Found this place on Google yesterday after work and was happy to find a new Italian place open up locally in Riverside. Definitely a nice place to eat after work or go out for date night. Appreciate that they have a pastry chef who makes fresh desserts everyday. The pizzas were so good (especially the crust). Got the Margarita and Truffle Pizza with Honey which were both bomb. Also enjoyed our server who was helping in making our food/wine/dessert selections and was checking in on us the whole time. Would definitely come here again. ❤️🙏🙌

Cute table settings. The food is phenomenal. The salad was so good. It was the Outpost Cesar. We ordered the Diavola Forte, and it was delicious, and the bread of the pizza was so good! We also got the fried olives….girl get them. They’re amazing! So tasty! Chocolate cake was chocolate cake lol my friend got the pineapple passion fruit pinacotta omg get it, it’s so good! The staff were attentive and sweet. I’m definitely coming back and bringing friends and family.

Very excited for another amazing restaurant to be added to Riverside. The food was amazing! Great selection of pizzas, starters, and desserts. The service was top notch and friendly and I love the atmosphere/ambiance/design of the restaurant. This will be a staple in my rotation of riverside restaurants for date night.

Very beautiful location, with delectable eats as well ordered the Truffle con tre Formaggi pizza and it had crumbled cheese on it with thin base with slightly doughy + airy crust, flavors were fragrant and nice. The other pizza which was Diavola Forte we got with italian sausage had amazing flavors with the calabrian chili. The desserts had options of buying one for $7 or a trio for $20. We decided to get the trio and it turned out pretty good, a little food textures could be fine tuned, but overall flavor was top tier. Ambience was nice and the staff were very kind + attentive. Parking wasn’t hard to find and area is very nice, highly enjoyed!

So so so good!! Food and service was spectacular. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The Caeser Salad with crispy chicken and the truffle pizza with ricotta, goat cheese, and honey were to die for. I will be back!!

Another great local food spot that opened recently by the Riverside plaza. The truffle pizza was SO good!

We stumbled upon this spot by accident — and let me tell you, it’s truly a hidden gem. The space is vibrant, spotless, and beautifully decorated, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in the mood for pizza and wine, this is absolutely the place to go. I originally walked in just to check it out, but there was no way I was leaving without trying a pizza. Although we didn’t dine in this time, we ordered the Casa Tra I Rami pizza to go — and wow! It completely exceeded expectations. I also had a brief conversation with the chef, and it was such a genuine interaction. You can truly see the passion and drive she puts into creating what I’d call edible art. We’ll definitely be back soon to enjoy the full dine-in experience!

The vibe in this place is that of Santana Monica/Venice Beach, very chic. The food is great. These guys have put some thought into their pizza creations. It matches vibe. Listen ur not going to find buffalo chicken pizza here or stuff crust either. This is not type of place. Ps get the olives it's an appetizer.

This place is great! The pizzas are tasty and don't leave you feeling bloated! The burrata plate is delicious and the fried olives are a must try! Our servers were kind and attentive. Try the lavender lemonade. Hopefully they get a larger sign to put out front so the place is visible. We need places like this in Riverside. Highly recommend!

Pizza and the fried olives were delicious. The Caesar Salad dressing is excellent. Parking is not easy and the location does not fit the restaurant. The prices were reasonable. I would recommend trying this place.

I’ll keep this review simple. Great food, great service, nice vibes. But expect to pay a slightly higher price for the quality.

We were excited to try this new location after seeing the great photos online. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very modern and clean and the truffle pizza was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the overall experience wasn’t great. We ordered two pizzas and waited over 45 minutes for the first to arrive, then another 10 minutes for the second. The restaurant was nearly empty, when we first arrived so the long wait was surprising. We asked about our order and were told the kitchen was backed up, but it would have been nice if the staff had been more proactive in communicating that, especially since we had two children under two with us. Even a small gesture like a quick update or offering drinks while we waited would have gone a long way. The biggest issue was finding a bristle from the cleaning brush baked into our second pizza. At first we thought it was a hair, but the waitress confirmed it was from the oven brush. No offer to replace the pizza though. That was disappointing, and honestly concerning. Overall, the space is nice and the truffle pizza stood out, but the long wait times, lack of communication, and especially the food safety issue made this a 2-star experience for us.

When we first walked in no one greeted us, 2 guys behind the bar looked up at us and looked back down and kept talking to each other. I went up to them and I guess the person that's the host saw me and came to sat us. Even if that is not your "job" everyone that works in an establishment should always greet all customers they see or at least acknowledge the customers and direct them where to go or let the host know that customers are there. When we were ready to order the same guys behind the bar, were still just talking to each other and talking to the guy that was making the pizza instead of coming over to us so again we waited for the host to come and take our order. For the salads, we noticed the lettuce they use are not really fresh as you can see in the picture, however, everything plus this was not what led me to leave a negative review, it was the fact when we finally got our pizza it was so char-black on the bottom and the top we could only forcefully take a couple of bites..it even left black residue on our fingers even after wiping our hands. That means their oven is very dirty as we eat fresh pizza oven made pizza frequently and we always check the bottom of the pizza to see how it looks. Not to mention people making the pizza non stop talking above the pizza to the other staff w no gloves and no masks. I saw him touch his glasses and back to the pizza or wiped hands on pants and back to pizza.. Lastly when we were checking out they could see we didn't really eat much of our food and instead of asking if everything was okay or how was everything they just let us pay. Def wasted money here. Anyways has a lot of potential if there was good management/ownership to supervise. 2 stars for host that tried and a girl that was nice plus only thing i liked the ranch.
