We held a corporate event at The Carlson, and it was a perfect experience. Coordinating with the venue was simple and direct, the pricing was clear and fair. During the event we had impeccable service from the bartenders, and other kitchen staff. The whole ambiance of the venue was relaxing and inviting, with great little seating areas for conversation. I've heard nothing but positive things from our employees about the food and drinks. If you're looking for a great space for an event, this is it!
We had a great time and the venue is clean and good sized. The drinks are more expensive but not unexpectedly given the venue. We did not have any food. I will arrive earlier next time!
I have never gone and not enjoyed myself. Wish they had a larger bar and maybe another bartender( it can be a bit of a wait sometimes) but other than that... go and have a laugh... its good for your soul
Very nice, intimate setting; good visibility to the stage. Good sound system. Restaurant and full bar on site, but not in the room that we were in, so no distractions there. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Probably a good place to take a date if you like the same kind of comedy.
I love the atmosphere here especially the table setting style. We usually share a table with other people who are warm and friendly. The comedians are top notch and very personable following their shows.
Love this venue for local and national comedians. I visit the Carlson every couple of months and have not been disappointed. They get top comedians with excellent opening acts. The food is very good and is not ridiculously priced. Seats could be more comfy, but for 2 hours, it is tolerable.
I saw Jordan Jensen here and she was amazing! The venue is huge!! So much bigger than I expected! The lobby area was massive and the bar had so many fun adult beverages but also had some really tasty looking mocktails as well! Definitely will be going back again!
So I missed him when he came to Buffalo and was super excited to grab priority seating for Thursday's night show. As a first timer to The Carlson, It felt like home and Aries was funnier in person...great atmosphere and vibe and the staff was amazing. I'll be back soon for another great experience
Had a show from Murr that was so hilarious I damn near passed out laughing. The venue was great! Very attentive wait staff and excellent prices and flavor on food although drinks are a little pricey but not for Rochester just in general in the city so can't complain there. Clean bathrooms, clean floors, clean tables. I don't have anything but good things to say and will 100% be going back! The lineup is insane this summer! Pic of Murr sorry, will get venue pics and update next time.
We attended Comedy @ the Carlson last night for the 13thirty fund raiser “Sometimes, You Just Gotta Laugh” and we had the most enjoyable evening. First I’d like to say the performers were exceptional people, they all have battled with cancer but were able to show us the funny side of what they had went through, which I believe takes an extraordinary amount of courage and my hats off to each and every one of them. As for the venue, it was very easy to find and park at. Seating is abundant and they do serve cocktails and food, although we did not eat what we saw being delivered looked good and will try them when we return, which we will do. The staff were very pleasant and we were greeted and seated quickly. All and all a very nice experience!
The show/Comedians were top notch! Great show! Highly recommend the show. The food was awful. 2 of us ordered the grilled chicken cob salad. They forgot the chicken. When we asked about it the waitress brought us boiling hot canned chicken. NOT GRILLED CHICKEN. Our other friend had a grilled chicken oriental salad, that had canned chicken as well. The chicken was awful. When added to the salad it basically cooked the lettuce. It became a soggy mess. It is pitch dark so you really can’t see what you’re doing. Plus my unsweetened iced tea was very weak and no ice in the second one. But I needed to drink some to wash down the awful chicken. I would definitely go to another show but wouldn’t ever eat there again!
The venue is charming! The environment was welcoming it was all around an esthetically beautiful place . I look forward to attending other social events there.
Food is not good at all. Both times we have been the food was horrible. We ordered a French dip and it was thickly sliced pot roast full of fat with cheese and on bread. The dip appetizer disgusting. Both headliners we saw were ok nothing special.
DON'T GO HERE...read their very rude & aggressive response and you'll see why. There are many other places you can go where your money is appreciated. We had a nice date night, treated ourselves to Jamie Lissow (who was hilarious) but the comedians were overshadowed by the horrible service and food we received or waited for. We were early, they sat us in order after a wait in line appropriately. They put us on the left side of the stage, told us to sit one in front of the other (not next to each other which was weird) and were 2 rows from the very back right side. There were MANY others that were still in line and got high top tables in the direct back, which to me, was actually better seating. We could get past the seating arrangements, but what we couldn't get past was the lack of service. Someone came over and lit our candle during the first act, said she'd be back and never did. We're seeing the servers all around us tend to all other tables, as we sat there watching them get food, drinks, and service even asking "how is everything." Whle we sit there service-less, I got up to get our own drinks and metnioned this situation to the manager, who was nice, but just told me who our server was and I was like "well, I don't know because we haven't seen her in an hour." He ended up getting someone to take care of us and the food came out fast but it was the cheapest, saltiest, chemically-ist tasting food ever. I wasn't expecting a 5 star meal, but $18 for a pretzel (with NO cheese because they were out of cheese) and salty cheap tortilla chips with microwaved dips for $17 after waiting as long as we did was such a disappointment. For 2 people, this cost us $66 for drinks, $35 for disgusting food, and $50 for tickets. Almost $100 in food & drinks!!!! All of this made it very difficult to enjoy the show. Oh and one woman next to us had her flash on her phone when people text or call her, so every 4 minutes I see this flash out of the corner of my eye. So distracting! We won't go back and I actually know the owner. Replying to your very aggressive response - you should be ashamed of yourselves for talking to a customer like this. Rude response. I hope others read your response and say the same thing. Truly unprofessional. You should improve service, food, and train your staff better. This is not OUR FAULT. Whatever happened to the customer...horrible business you run.
I have seen fantastic shows here ( Paul Reiser, Kevin Pollack) but this last one was terrible. A foul mouthed puppet who mostly screamed and jumped around. My friend who picked out the show left before it was finished. The table service was fine.
