A beautiful dinning experience.Great food and service with an amazing atmosphere. Lots of Fire gear all over. Definitely will go again. Prices are great for the delicious food. You can also watch sports on different TVs.

Been going to this place for years was one of my favorite places to go. Great atmosphere great service. But I recently went and the food quality went right down hill. So saddened by this and I hope they fix the food issuse cause I would love to go back. It's a staple for the area and no rather place i would spend on a Friday night.

Great atmosphere, an old firehouse warmly restored! Food is delicious - pizzas, sandwiches, and larger plates. Nice selection of beers - local & seasonal. Their wait staff is always friendly and attentive. We make it a regular stop now whenever we visit Rochester. A can't miss place!

Yum, yum, yum! The Ladderman Mussels were awesome. Don't be afraid or too proud to ask for container to take home the remaining chorizo-laden, cilantro lime spicy broth. A loaf of French bread tomorrow: dang, can't wait. The bbq chicken wings were excellent. No one in our party 8 left unhappy.

Go there for Friday happy hour a couple times a month. Service has always been amazing. We get food once and a while and the food has always been great. It's a great spot in the summer with the patio and has plenty of seating inside and around the bar.

We got the garlic parmesan wings for an appetizer and seriously they were the best wings I've ever had !💯 I got the ribs and my friend got the clam & shrimp linguine for entrees. We shared, so I can say both entrees were also So Delicious!!💯 I honestly couldn't have asked for a better dinner experience. Also, it was a busy night and we didn't have reservations, but the staff managed to accommodate us right away anyway. Super Impressed! 👍🏽😸👍🏼

I had my co-ed wedding shower at the Downtime Pub last week. It was the perfect venue for the casual “happy hour shower” my fiancé and I wanted. Leading up to the event Nicki was so helpful with planning and the day of she had great communication to make sure everything was going how we envisioned. Diego was our bartender and was very personable with guests as well as helped my mom set up by carrying in items from the car. He also personally checked in with me to make sure I was happy with the event. The food was great and several of our guests commented about the good food and vibes. If you’re looking to host an event in a private pub this is the perfect place! Looking forward to my wedding at the Stutson House in September! 💜

I was so very pleased on my most recent visit to Hose 22. They had extended the outdoor seating. It was a gorgeous night to dine under the stars. I had the short rib special. It was absolutely spectacular! There was so much food that I had enough for dinner the next night. I love to squirrel away a portion like that. Especially when it is so delicious. My son was my date, and he enjoyed the lip-smacking ribs. It seems as if so many local restaurants have gone a bit downhill. I was excited to see that Hose22 is still providing exceptional service and delicious food. Bravo to you, Hose22. I will be back the next time I come to town.

This was my first time eating with my family after a graduation ceremony. We needed a reservation for 10 people and they took us on a Friday night with no problem. Everywhere else was either booked and they have 2 different levels in the restaurant where they can seat people so space was not a problem. The food was absolutely outstanding and everyone got something different from salads to burgers to fish pizza to sandwiches and other things. When we came in we were seated almost immediately following our reservation time, and our orders were taken and food brought within 20 minutes.... It was unbelievable because the place was packed. Every dish was delicious and my burger was cooked to perfection.... It was my first time in a long time getting a burger that was ordered medium and it was delivered hot and perfectly cooked. I would 100% come here again because the service was great the staff was friendly and the food was mouth watering delicious. The only negative and why it got 4 stars for atmosphere was because it was noisy and with a party of 10 you could barely hear the person at the opposite end of the table if you need to talk to them. But the atmosphere was quite unique for a restored 1913 firehouse.

Visited the Rochester area and took and "threw a dart" at the Google Maps listings of restaurants in the area. Glad we gave the Hose 22 Firehouse Grill a try. It was a Friday evening and the specials involved seafood. My bride had the beer batter haddock and I had the broiled haddock with Old Bay seasoning. Both were very well prepared. We dined on the patio and found this very nice with music from the inside area making its way out to us as nice background music. Service was excellent (Jim). Atmosphere was excellent.

The food there was extremely good and the service was good I loved how everything was set up. What really makes this place shine is the atmosphere the number of firefighter memorabilia is crazy just looking around at the different things will keep you entertained but the food was just as good as the view and service was average in my opinion, nothing to complain about at all. Overall a good spot

Fun place, good food & beer selection. Had the Brushfire pasta (3*) / the wife (remember she can't eat solids) tomato bisque & loved it / burgers for the other two with high regards. Will be back if in the area.

This is our go-to spot on the west side! The nachos are incredible—perfect for sharing, but come hungry because the portion is massive. The drinks from the bar are consistently great, and most of the pizzas are solid (though the Buffalo Chicken pizza was just okay). The burgers and chicken sandwich are both really good, and the fried pickles are delicious with a huge portion size. The buffalo mac and cheese tastes good, but nearly $30 for that dish feels excessive. Overall, the food here is very good and we keep coming back. Just be aware that the volume inside can get pretty loud, which might be a downside if you're hoping for a quiet meal.

22 Firehouse Grill is a great spot with good food and a really cool atmosphere — it used to be an actual firehouse. The place was busy when we went, but the service was still excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly for our dinner. Overall, a great experience with tasty food and welcoming service and a one-of-a-kind historic setting. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Worth the wait! After a glowing word of mouth review we decided to stop by the old firehouse and see for ourselves. The 45 minute wait is apparently typical but flew by as we chatting with friendly customers around the outdoor fire pit. The food was delicious with HUGE portions. Despite it obviously being filled to capacity the booths were comfortably quiet and we enjoyed EXCELLENT service. If you are in the area check this place out!!!

Been going here for years. Food is consistently good (HIGHLY recommend the pork chop). Service is just a little hit or miss. I'm not seeing some of the familiar servers, it's a lot of younger employees who are struggling a bit with providing the quality of service we were used to.

1st time going there and absolutely loved it!! We went for burgers for lunch, best burger I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back for dinner. We were greeted and seated right away when the place was almost full. We got pizza and salad and both were great. Sweet Heat pizza is delicious. I lucked out, they have my favorite beer as well. Andrea was the server and she was great. Multiple refills! Extremely hot outside, and the AC was ice cold inside. Atmosphere is great, and the overall experience was great. Surprised I haven’t really gone here until now.

The Only Complaint we had was that the Cheesecake desserts are a little over priced for what you're paying for $9.00 for a 1" sliver is a bit steep. Might want to address that in the future.

No alcohol just beer and wine. But a nice wine list and big selection of beer. I had Ceaser Salad with anchovies that really was exactly what I was looking for. We don't keep enough leafy greens on our sailboat Dragon's Lair so I wondered across the bridge from the Marina for a salad. The menu looked amazing but I wasn't trying to eat a huge meal. Still decided to take a couple slices of carrot cake back to the boat for the crew and myself and it was very good. Awesome decor in and awesome building, complete with the fire poles, though capped and not opperable.

The building is a renovated 1916 fire station that was saved from being doomed. The interior is all about the fire service and presents a first class inventory of related artifacts and pictures. The staff was very professional and the food was excellent. By the time we were finished eating, the inside seating was fully occupied even tough it was a Wednesday evening! When we travel we try to find facilities of a similar nature since we frequent a similar restored fire station in our home town of Windsor, Connecticut. Those who labored during the renovation should be proud of their effort!

Came here for New Years Eve! The atmosphere was great, the seating was cozy. Our waitress was wonderful. I loved the French onion soup!!!! Excellent food, cool atmosphere, good amount of parking. Update: Hose 22 has become one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I have been going here monthly for the past two years. We have brought my parents and siblings there and it is always a huge hit. We just brought my brother to Hose 22 for the first time in December and he has already been back twice in six weeks. He brought his roommates with his for their first time on Friday and said they were blown away by their Fish Fry's. The fish fries truly are amazing, with a funnel cake like batter. They have the absolute best pork chop meal, sweet potato wedges, French onion soup, chicken dishes, fried pickles, burgers, pizzas, pastas, ribs, and more! The chefs truly know what they're doing. The staff is also friendly and welcoming. If you're on the fence about trying this place out, definitely give it a go. You might discover your new favorite place!

For lunch the French onion soup was delicious as was the Strawberry chicken salad. The salad was appetizingly arranged. Topped it all off with a 22oz Guinness! Service was prompt attentive and friendly. The firehouse decor in the authentic building provided a great atmosphere! A lucky choice for us on our way to the Rochester airport!

This place is an old Firehouse and it has all of the memorabilia to let you know that it is. The menu is great and the execution was good. Service was there, but not attentive. There weren't a large number of TVs making it a sports bar, so consider it a grill and pub with a Firehouse theme. If you're looking for some simple fare in a themed restaurant, then this is your spot.

We stopped in for a Thursday night dinner with a party of 4. We were seated very quickly and ordered drinks which came out in minutes. We started with some appetizers which were very good, some of the best chicken wings we have had in a while. Our entrees were even better and came out promptly after we finished our appetizers. Service was very good very friendly and on top of all our needs would visit again.

Hose 22 Firehouse Grill in Rochester continues to prove why it’s a local favorite. We had a fantastic meal here that hit all the right notes. The vibe is welcoming and laid-back, perfect for a casual night out with solid food and drinks. We started with the crispy shrimp appetizer, which came out golden brown and perfectly paired with a sweet chili sauce. The wings were meaty and slathered in a bold, sticky BBQ sauce, exactly what you want from pub-style wings. The white pizza was another winner: a bubbling, cheesy masterpiece with a perfectly chewy crust. The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, rounding out the meal nicely. To top it all off, we enjoyed two cold beers that really hit the spot. Service was friendly, and the food came out hot and quick. If you’re in Rochester and haven’t been to Hose 22 in a while or ever, it’s definitely worth a stop. Great food, great beer, and a cozy neighborhood feel that keeps people coming back.

Atmosphere is wonderful. Right near the water and outside or inside seating. It's literally an Old Firehouse complete with lots of memorabilia. There's a bar as well. The food was good we ordered just burgers and fries. Pretty simple. Along with their beer menu in cocktails they also do have a wine list. Are waitress Gina is wonderful! There is also a pub downstairs and a party space upstairs.

If you're looking for a unique spot with great service, great food and 100+ year old history, Hose 22 is your spot. Stopped in for dinner and had a party of 4. It was a Tuesday night and told there was a 30 min wait. They offered us a high top at bar, and unfortanately it was really loud and hard to have a conversation. The food was good. We previously had a catered event with the barbecue package and it was delicious. Was hoping those items on menu but they weren't. We started with the artichoke cristini app. It was so good...we fought over the last one. I had an Asian pork sandwhich with sweet potato fries; my husband had a pizza and 2 other family members had burgers. No complaints about the food. Good portion sizes. Hot. Reasonable prices.

We showed up later in the evening but we were taken care of very promptly. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was great, so much history to look at and read about! But the best part of the experience was by far the food. We ordered the muscles, the NY strip fire chief style and the bone in pork chop. My wife and I were absolutely taken back by the quality and most of all the flavor! We will definitely be back!!!

This unique restored 1916 Firehouse is the best example of a converted fire station turned restaurant we’ve been to thus far, and I’ve been to several. The food was really amazing too. We started with the nachos and had their jalapeño popper dip added and let me tell you….those nachos were incredible! Huge portion, we ended up filling up on those and didn’t have room for our entrees. Good news is that even leftover the entrees were excellent. My husband devoured the White Florentine pizza and the stuffed mushrooms were good too. I will caution that the garlic mashed potatoes are super garlicky. Service was great. Pricing is a little on the high side; be prepared to spend at least $20 for an entree, even if it’s Mac n cheese.

Busy upon arrival, primetime on a Friday, however was able to be seated immediately. Menu was extensive, offering a varied array of dishes. Being Friday in Rochester, a fish fry was to be had. The other entree we had was their grilled special of the evening, a swordfish steak. Everything was fantastic. Our server was particularly detailed oriented. He had noticed I put my leftover squeezed lemons in my soda, so when he brought a refill, he added a fresh lemon wedge for me. Details are everything. The food and ambiance of the old firehouse was impeccable. Everything was thoroughly enjoyed. A return trip is a must to try the other items that looked and sounded great. Lots of beers and drinks to choose from. Highly recommended.

I find the service here is hit or miss, some of the servers have been lovely while some seem to not really pay attention. The food is great and I have never waited too long for drinks. Very cozy atmosphere for such a big and crowded place. We had a high top in the bar looking out over the fire pit on a rainy night. The grilled pork chop is thick and delicious with a tasty au jus. The broiled haddock was good but a bit thin. Coleslaw was delicious!

I had a great time at this restaurant. Our waitress was on spot. Loved the style and decoration of this restaurant. I’m from buffalo and came into town for a graduation. We looked for a nice place close to the graduation ceremony and we found hose 22. We were a party of 8. The bar tender seemed upset to see large party and asked if we had a reservation even tho on the website there was nothing about making a reservation so I thought that was odd. She told us we had only 3 hours of seating time. I’m not sure how long she thought a party of 8 takes to eat. The waitress was very nice, patient and helpful. She turned out dinning experience around. It seems we were the only people of color in the establish and area and maybe that’s where the hostility of the bar tender came from. We won’t be back into Rochester anytime soon and if we did it wouldn’t be this place. The food was average American food. Nothing special.

Arrived to a busy bar and loud, dead dining room. I asked for a booth and she set us at an uncomfortable table with too long wooden seats. The waitress Danelle was very attentive. We asked her if her area included booths she said yes and then we asked to be moved to a booth. Unfortunately it wasn't one of her booths?!? Danielle was nice enough to move our drinks to the not her table. We gave her a 3 spot for the assist. Now we have a not so attentive waitress "Mama BC". The wife had the pulled pork; she said it was very good and I had the ribs which were very tender. The ribs were slathered with their signature BBQ sauce, very sweet with progressive heat! (the more you ate, the hotter it got) I like sweet but not alot of heat, I was unable to eat my last rib. My meal included cole slaw, corn bread, and sweet potato steak fries. I asked for no coleslaw and extra fries. I received coleslaw, extra too well done fries, and too dry cornbread, both were unedible. We had to ask Danielle to find our waitress so we could get a drink refill. For dessert the wife had chocolate cheese cake and I had carrot cake. The carrot cake was drizzled with caramel?!? Was almost too sweet to eat.

C
Chris MYOB

We had the salmon, beef tips and fried pickle appetizer, which were excellent. Service was excellent too. Only complainant...we each had a couple cocktails off their signature menu, all of which we had were overly sweet and unpleasant, and was like drinking pure liquid sugar. Overall would recommed.

In town for youngest's graduation from URochester. We had good dinner here in the outside seating. Was nice to see the many gluten free options on the menu for two of our family with Celiac. Sweet potato wedges were excellent. Went to the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse one block away afterwards. Thanks!

M
Matt Ruffell

Very good food but the drinks are mediocre. They took a few things of the menu like the ribeye and stuffed mushrooms, but there's plenty of other meal choices. The mixed drinks need some help because they taste very weak and mostly ice. The rum drink my wife had tasted like the rum was spoiled, very odd. Everything is a little expensive but I guess it's worth a try if you're in the area. Can be slow service during busy hours.

Went on a Saturday night. Not busy. Service was solid, kept the drinks full, made my daughter feel welcomed. Mac and cheese is great and my four year loved it. Too bad no kids portions for it, hopefully that gets considered. A little pricey but amazing atmosphere.

My family took me off my birthday per my daughter's suggestion and was someplace cool and different to go to so was excited to go. It seemed like everybody enjoyed the diverse food choices, but mine is a big mistake, and I'm very upset about this.ut my burger, which I asked for medium and I confirmed what the waitress said would be pink in the middle. But very extremely sad to say. I'm disappointed that it very was well done, dry and hard there was a piece of bacon on it, which leads me to believe, because I asked for no bacon, that they put it in and then took it off. It was not busy at all and this particular Sunday evening, and it took an extremely long time to get our food. I called ahead for a reservation and they will be able to see us all in a round table for a party of 8, which was nice. I loved the atmosphere of the style and the nostalgia. Very upset about the quality of food and how they cannot get an order right? But I did not speak out because it would have been an embarrassment to my children and grandchildren.

The parking lot was full so we needed to park on the street but it wasn't too far. We also didn't have a reservation but only needed to wait 5ish minutes. The wait staff was welcoming and helpful. Food was pretty good. We started with the firecracker shrimp, it was pretty good but not memorable. My girlfriend loved the ribs and thought the sweet potato wedges were the best she had ever had. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was good but I needed to order more sauce and they charged me for it. Over all pretty good 👍🏼

This restaurant is very cool. The interior design is unique and a vision come to life! The are firefighters tools on the walls and boots on the floor. It feels like community in here. Our server was very nice and attentive. This is a great place to bring family for dinner or to stop in later and grab a drink. My favorite thing was the elote dip appetizer, I would like to bottle it and drink it! The menu options are modern, regular Rochester fare and some unexpected items as well. I gave a 4 star because the rice that came with my salmon tasted like uncle Ben's instant rice with no seasoning, the vegetables were cut cool and modern but again lack luster. The salmon was well cooked and flavorful. Overall it was a good restaurant and based on the reviews I'll be back to try the fish fry.

First time at Hose 22! The food was very good and service was okay. Pretty pricey for food and drinks, but will definitely return to try the dinner menu. They had interesting rules regarding “happy hour.” You couldn’t order the discounted drinks at your table with your meal. We had to walk up to the bar and order separately for the discounted price. The waitress and bartender were fine, not very friendly or helpful. We had a good experience with the food, though!

Our waiter was exceptional for our large group.( Filled my water without me asking). Menu was just ok. Ordered a cheeseburger with toppings on the side, which came out fine. Many selections did not interest me.

If I'm given the option of sitting inside or outside, and I pick inside, are we really accomplishing anything when they functionally rip the whole front of the building off by opening gigantic doors? I want AC and no insects. I didn't get an inside table, 8 got a darker outside table against my will. Food was decent and beer selection is okay, but two stars off for 80 degree "inside" dining.

Their food is ok, often feels uninspired and underwhelming, and steep price for it. I spend $100+ every time I come here, tried a lot of the menu, and I never feel like it was worth it. Sorry, I'll probably stop in on occasion but I gave it many chances and it's not my choice for American food. This is also not the spot for a good old fashioned. Also, sitting right next to the front door during the winter is a subpar experience. You should give people that sit there 10% off their meal for having to deal with that. The positives are the staff is a great crew, personable and they carry some good local beers.

I'm not sure how to rate this place as it has good and not so good points. I absolutely love the outside and inside of the building. the wood ceiling and decorations are beautiful. It was pretty cold inside and i as well as other diners were wearing jackets at the table. This place is pricey! Over $70 for just 2 of us - no alcohol. The potato skin appetizer came out almost cold. We ate a bit then had it boxed up. Some lettuce on the bottom of my salad was rotten. not a lot but enough to notice. It was still tasty - the unrotten parts. My $28 scallops weren't seared well; they just tasted like butter. The sweet potato fries are fantastic and so are their dinner rolls. Mixed feelings about this place but I'd be willing to go again but maybe to try the pizza and fried pickles which seem to be fan favorites! I would recommend trying it at least once if for nothing but the really cool atmosphere.

I got the salmon and was not impressed at all, the sauce was ok, the salmon was not 8oz and had the skin off, the rice was made from a box, and if the brocolli was not frozen it tasted like it was... the other vegetables on the plate were unnecessary and 95% raw, I'm sorry but I dont want a (half blanched), raw pepper and onions on my plate... and the worst part $26 and I left hungry, no salad with the meal... my buddy got the nachos which looked very weak.... I have celiacs and they were accommodating and had ok service which is why I dident give them one star, if I go back it wont be for the food....

Our recent visit for a friend's birthday was not as good as in the past. Service wasn't terribly attentive or friendly and my main dish tasted off...I was offered something else and original was taken off the bill but the server didn't seem to concerned that there was something wrong with the dish. The replacement came fast and was good though.

Disappointed in the food. I ordered black bean soup and received a watery chili. The artichoke crostini did not have artichokes on the bread. Instead it was a cheesy bread with a small marinated artichoke leaf in the middle of the plate. Disappointed in the service. They had a problem giving separate checks to a large group, even though they were aware of the groups arrival as they had the tables set up. This was a Wednesday early lunch(11:30) not prime time. Lastly the cost. Pretty expensive for some basic dishes. Mac and cheese $22. I mean I'm sure it was "gourmet" but it's still pasta and cheese.

Very rude! We ate there the other day and the staff was very rude to my family. They ordered a Ruben with corned beef. When getting their food the meat was not right. It looked like a pulled pork. we are Jewish so that would have been an issue. When bringing it up to the staff instead of trying to help us they got very defense "well we are short-staffed" and saying they would bring the chief out, but never did, and then she came back and threw a plate out at us saying this was the two different types of meat, while it did look different from their pulled pork we agreed it still was most definitely not corned beef. It would have not been a huge deal but even the manager was very defensive and rude and short with us.

Had our wedding venue canceled by the owner Craig because he drastically jacked up the pricing of food and drink 3 weeks before our reception and we could not pay the new cost. Which was close to double. I now have 3 weeks to find a new place for 80 people that rsvpd to our reception. We were so excited to have our event at the Stutson House/Hose 22 and he ruined it.

Tried to book a party at the restaurant and after 3 emails and 3 phone, which we left messages for the catering manager for, my husband was finally able to speak to him. That took us 3 weeks. We were told on the phone the date we wanted was available but they wouldn’t book it because they were changing catering managers and we would hear back. A week later nothing. My husband finally got a hold of the store manager and we were then told the date wasn’t available and the manager kept brushing my husband off. We had gone for dinner in the past but will not be going back again and will not recommend it to others simply because of how poorly this situation went. Wouldn’t recommend trying to book a party either. May never happen.

Server made my drink too strong I politely asked her to make me a new one she laughed at me and my boyfriend and walked away had another server make my drink and she comes over and puts nasty moldy strawberry in my drink and continues laughing as she walks away…nasty behavior by server and even worse behavior by the manager for not stepping in

On March 20th the family and I decided to make a reservation for today, Easter. Our reservation was made for 12pm. Party of 11. It took almost 20 min for us to be greeted. However, drinks and two appetizers came 15 min later. After chatting and two drinks of mimosas later we realized it was 1:40pm and still have not received our entrees. After asking multiple servers for assistance around 1:55pm, 8:11 of us received our meals. However, 3 of the meals needed to be sent back due to being very cold. We never received the other 3 meals. After voicing our concerns to our waitress we ended up with a free Easter meal. Our table consisted of 4 seniors and a toddler. Everyone knows how important it is for these age groups to eat and at a specific time. (Pictures are posted for the presentation) Hose 22 not sure what happened today but today was definitely a bunny FLOP! We still tipped our waitress because we know how the industry works. It was not her fault. Our Easter was definitely ruined a bit. Take this as lesson learned, always prepare for a holiday. Something definitely went wrong! Get it together

I do not know who thought making the tables legitimately and not an exaggeration, 6” apart should be terminated. My party of 2 was sat in a booth. Shortly after receiving out soup, a party of 6 was sat blocking us in our booth. We could not be served without someone from this unrelated party standing up. We could not leave without two of them getting up. Skipped dessert because I was over being treated like cattle the way we were packed into the restaurant. Won’t be back, no matter how good the food is. Which is a disappointment because I have been to Hose 22 plenty of times and have always liked it. Didn’t talk to management because I was not going to interrupt my fellow dinner so he could access our table.
