Pleasantly surprised with the cafe breakfast. Ordered chicken, pork cutlet, and steak. Everything was pretty good. It comes with macaroni soup, toast (with 2 eggs) or french toast and a tea. I would come back and try the dinner. Update: it still fits the hk cafe comfort food. The milk tea is pretty good too.

Foods are reasonably good and the portions are large! You got your money’s worth! Service is acceptably good considered that they were so busy.

Local germ almost didn't want to share. Good taste , great Hong Kong style cafe food. Best ice lemon tea in town.

Unlimited Hong Kong style milk tea in the dinner time is the best and value combo. This is the authentic Hong Kong style tea restaurant highly recommended.😆

Affordable pricing + big portions. A meal + drink(discounted with meal) + soup(free) usually cost about $14 per person. Portion is 1.5x of what i eat.

Came here for lunch at friend's suggestion, we arrived at noon, got a buzzer and waited about half an hour for a table. Everything tasted good, everyone got a small cup of cream corn soup for free, very authentic Cantonese food and had plenty of left overs to go, would come back again.

Great place to eat Chinese Family Style! Delicious Hong Kong food. Each entree came with a discounted drink! Highly recommend the chicken wings for an appetizer! The curry was also very delicious! Roasted string beans are also my favorite!! Left with a happy tummy!

First time here after friends' raving reviews. Best HK-styled cafe food in a longggggg time in LA. Impressive. Will definitely go back. One weird thing: the AC was full on tonight at 5 pm (it's already very cool outside!) and it was freezing, but they put outdoor heaters INDOOR to warm people up? 😅

So happy to find another good HK cafe in the area since my all time fave (Hong Kong cafe) closed. I knew they had to be legit the moment I saw that they used those boat shaped plates for their baked dishes 🤣

Wow. What a place. Just about everything you can think of. Jook, fried fish, chicken steak, lo bak goh(turnip cake) bolo bao (pineapple bun)with butter, stir fried Cabbage with bacon, yiu choy with mushrooms, milk tea, regular tea, coffee, macaroni soup, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage. Everyone's wish comes true here. Good service, nice atmosphere. Opens at 8 am.

1130 is the start of lunch Open to 1125am is breakfast / specials. The restaurant is very busy with a lot of customers but the crew is very professional. Alert - Because of the small table : It becomes challenging to use all of the plates and bowls they give you. Bathroom is in back but nice and clean to use Portions are generous.

The filet mignon is so tender, can’t get this tender meat with a reasonable price anywhere else!

Its pan-fried sorrel fish is delicious. The broccoli, corn kernels, and shiitake mushrooms are all eaten, and the soup is also served.

Delicious Hong Kong style dishes with some Americanized options to please all palettes. We had Pork Chops With Peking Sauce, Beef Chow Fun, Creamy Corn Soup, Beef and Tomatoes With Rice, Curry Beef, and more. All were fantastic! The waiters were always preoccupied, so ordering and getting drinks refilled was a chore. Otherwise, it was a terrific dining experience.

This is an authentic Cantonese Chinese food restaurant. You get signature Cantense-Western fusion food dishes like the steak/chicken combo featured on my post. You also get popular drink options like red-bean-shaved ice, iced lemon tea with unlimited refills, not that you need it. The portion and quality of food for what you pay for is unbelievable. The restaurant is very busy during regular meal hours so plan accordingly. They have special afternoon prices for these who want to try out Cantonese food at the bargain price on top of their already amazing pricing. Service is great for us. The locals probably eat at E.A.T Bistro all the time. But for us we stop by here whenever we can if we are in the area. We live 45 minutes away without the LA traffic. If you are also passing by the area and got hungry or if you just want to try out the authentic Cantonese food, check this one out!

man I love this place, my stomach has a good experience every time I come here. got the breakfast deal that goes until 11:30am and we ordered satay beef noodles, satay beef omelet, and the peanut sauce noodles (not sure the name in English). tasty and large portions and fast service too despite how busy it gets!

Good food, good portions, great value. Like many Asian cafe restaurants, lunch specials are well priced and come with soups of the day. If you can, avoid the lunch rush for best service. We went right after lunch so the lunch crowd was gone and didn't have to wait for a table. Service and food was pretty good and fast. Plenty of parking. Again, it helps to avoid the lunch rush if you can.

Very tasty and authentic Cantonese and Hong Kong Cafe style cuisine. Love the ribeye steak combo, three piece fish combo, and the chicken & pork chop combo.

Probably the best Hong Kong café I’ve tried in the LA area so far! The place gets really busy, so expect a bit of a wait for food (ours was over 30 minutes), just come prepared for the line, and show some kindness and understanding to the hardworking staff. They’re doing their best and keeping things running despite the rush!

N

Should have more Waiters and Cooks, but it is worth to wait because the price they sell are 20% cheaper than most of other restaurants, and the food were always typical Hong Kong Local tastes.

Went here for lunch. due to covid they changed some parts of the parking lot to an outdoor dining area. we've been lucky to get the last available table. when checking the prices we first thought that the dishes must be small so we decided to order a little bit more. well we thought wrong. the plates are full so we still could take a lot back home for dinner and most probably next lunch as well :) the food really tastes authentic like the food when I've been in Hong Kong. will go again

Good food and large portions. They are understaffed so waiteres running around all over the restaurant pleasing customers. You have to make an effort to catch their attention. They are busy so it feels a little noisy and chaotic.

Pretty much like previous restaurant (Ledo cafe). Tried the beef stewed noodle soup, the noodles is okay but the beef has more than 50% fat and the broth soup is not hot enough. Updated February 2023 Beef stewed noodle soup is much better now, less fat and the broth is hot enough, we also like their salted chicken fried rice, staffs are cool but they are very busy.

Recommended by a friend of mine during quarantine time, decide to give it a try. During these periods, they have $30 family set dinner (3pm to 8 pm), add $2 more for 2 drinks or HK waffle. For the set dinner soup, they usually have 2 choices, Chinese or Western style soup. Since my wife and I have been craving HK foods for quite from time. I decided to get the Monday set dinner, Baked pork chop, Egg tofu w/ mushrooms, Beef w/ ginger onion. Even though they said it is for 2 to 3 people, my wife and I think we are able to eat this for 2 to 3 days. The foods taste great, not too salty and greasy. I will definitely try some other days set dinner again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ 📍Location & Parking This is honestly one of the better Hong Kong–style cafés in the SGV. It’s located inside “The Square” plaza at Garvey Ave & San Gabriel Blvd — a super busy plaza with tons of shops and eateries, so you already know it’s popular. Because of that, parking can be a little challenging during peak hours. If you come during breakfast or weekend brunch time, be prepared to circle a few laps before finding a spot. 🍳 Breakfast & Food Quality Their breakfast menu is surprisingly extensive — definitely more options than most cha chaan tengs around the area. Not only is there variety, but the overall taste and quality are noticeably better than many other HK cafés nearby. The food comes out fairly quickly despite how busy they usually are, and portions are satisfying. 👩‍🍳 Service & Atmosphere Service here is good and attentive. Staff check on you regularly and keep things moving efficiently, which is necessary because the place is almost always packed. The only downside: it gets loud. With the constant crowd and table turnover, don’t expect a quiet brunch spot — this is more of a classic lively Hong Kong café vibe. 📝 Overall If you want a dependable cha chaan teng breakfast in SGV with solid food quality and lots of choices, this is definitely one of the safer picks. Just plan around parking and noise, and you’ll have a good experience. Would I come back? Yes — especially for breakfast.

This is a nice Cantonese restaurant with Western characteristics. The $14.95 Special combination Filet Mignon cubes with Chicken Steak was delicious and the Chicken Curry + Pork Chops were fantastic. Also recommend the Mango slush. Service was fast and friendly with plentiful free parking.

Great Hong Kong style cafe and restaurant. Delicious lunch specials everyday. The baked pork chop was great. Their ox tongue dishes are popular too. Also the lemon ice tea is a must try. Long wait to get a seat, they seem understaffed.

Another found of a decent HK style cafe. Rather than just eating at the usual few like Garden and Tasty, we have an alternative to rotate now. Honestly the food here is much better than the typical cafe. They are in par with Henry’s in Alhambra without the high prices. I love their oxtail with red wine sauce. The oxtails were tender and very flavorful with the red wine sauce. It’s perfect to go with rice. The fried udon with black pepper was fantastic. The black pepper gave a kick to elevate the flavors of the dish. For drinks, you have to get their red bean and ice lemon tea. They costed only $1.99 with an other of a main dish. The ice lemon is unlimited in refills. Parking is very convenient as it’s located in a big shopping center.

I hope the boss is reading this because it will make them way ahead of his competition (see baked pork chop over rice comment) First let me mentioned that I'm from Nor Cal, so I don't have the luxury to try every HK style bistro to compare. I've been to 6 most popular one in LA and a few of them been around for ages. This one is new and it's my first time here. I'd say, I will come back here again just because it's better than all those are tried. Borscht Soup - I liked it. I've had better. But it's close enough that I enjoyed it. It's still missing certain flavor than the one I had in HK... But not sure what it is. Still not bad. Baked Portuguese style chicken rice - This was a surprise. We thought we ordered 焗葡國雞飯 but it turned out to be baked chicken in Portuguese sauce and then steam rice on the side. Usually, they stirred fried the rice and put the sauce on top and baked it. I think the waiter put the order wrong nonetheless, it's delicious though! The flavor is good chicken is tender using dark meat. Baked chicken steak over rice red sauce - The reason why I ordered chicken steak and not pork chop is because they are stupid. They refused to use pork cutlet for the pork chop (deep fried breaded boneless pork chop). It's stupid because they offered pork cutlet on other dish so I ordered to pay more but they said no can't do. May be it's the waiter issue again. The red sauce is ok. Again I've tasted better bury it's not bad. I wanted to say it lacks a little Worcestershire sauce and sugar (Did I just gave out the secret recipe for red sauce?😅) Crab fried rice - It's not like a traditional crab fried rice. The fried rice for good wok air 鑊氣 but the flavor is not what I expected. If they want to do crab fried rice Thai style, we need fish sauce 魚露. It looked like they do it with topiko. Those is the least flavorab

Enjoyed this HK style cafe. The food is decent with great flavor (maybe a bit in the saltier side) and large portions. There were couples, small families, young groups all dining here. They offer a separate lunch and dinner menu.

Lunch specials every day til 3 pm! We arrived right around 2 pm on a Tuesday and got seated immediately. Really reasonably priced lunch items with a $1.99 upcharge for hot or iced drinks. We ordered the yang chow fried rice and the special combo with grilled chicken steak, ribeye steak, black pepper sauce, and white rice. We got the thai tea and french coffee iced drinks - both come with complimentary refills. We found out the red bean drinks are not refillable. Our lunch specials come with soup too - cream or Asian herbal. We got one of each to try both and both soups were pretty good. The fried rice and combo were more than enough for the two of us and pretty good too. The inside looks like the usual renovated HK cafe decor. Service could be a little better, but not too bad. Lots of options on the menu for varied tastes. Parking is pretty easy in this parking lot too.

Went here after the boys finished 18 holes and split everything five ways. We got minced beef on rice, soy noodles, a grilled chicken, pork chop with cheese and tomato sauce, fillet mignon and a side of rice. We ate everything. It was super busy it was hard to get service but I get it, it's new years and there were also to go orders being made.

This E.A.T Bistro took over from Lido. Their western fusion dishes are a failure and not recommended. Sick to their Chinese dishes. The Ribeye with 2 eggs ordered medium came out well done and sliced very thin. It comes with cream soup and corn. The fried sole fillet was over-fried, for a few more dollars we had baby scallops added. The scallops are also over-fried. I had Roasted Salmon. It came out over-fried, dried-out and in small portions. Not worth it here. You can get much better Western/Asian fusion deals at U2 and dishes at Baccali.

The food taste are very good and I have been here several time. The concern is the cleanliness of their utensils and dinnerwares. I usually find food residuals/greases on plates and bugs in beverage. I think the owner should pay attention to these which are serious issues.

E.A.T. Bistro is officially off my breakfast list. The thousand year old egg and pork porridge was bland, watery, and had at most 1/3 of an egg. My go-to is typically Chan Kee for porridge and this one is no comparison. The milk tea was on point. I chose the radish cake as my side and it was decent (not enough radish and texture was off). I have had lunch here before and recall it was pretty good, so would return for lunch.

Not a bad place, but desperately need a few more servers to provide decent service, too slow, too crowded. Food wise not as good as Garden Cafe. I rather pay a few bucks more & go to Garden Cafe instead. Probably will not be back.

I dont know how it is when u done in but for take out it's very bad.. for 3 wonton noodles soup waited for 45min, the cashier was bad just keep on telling me it's not ready just wait, didn't even give a time when it will be done... definitely not ordering togo from here anymore, this the 2nd time already.. the wonton wasn't anything special just like any other HK restaurant except this 1 took centuries for your food to be done

This is like any other HONG KONG STYLE CAFE. It has all the comfort food you would expect like porridge, chow fun, wontons, wontons noodles etc. Prices are really affordable and portions are huuuge!. The only setback is the lack of waiters. They are always under staff and you have to wait a good minute before you get the food. Waiters are always multi tasking and customer service is not high on their list. But what do you expect from 3 waiters that has to practically everything. The owner needs to step up and get more help. When the owner decides to get more staffs, this can easily get a 5 STARS.

A “No nonsense”, classic HK style cafe for commoner. Big portions. Special lunch menu. All add to the higher QPR. I have been here a few times now. I found their pan fried noodles or dishes are better than their noodles in soup. Their steak & pork chops, chicken combo, seared tuna lunch were good too. Curry dishes were also good. The environment is a bit not as clean as I would like but it’s on par with the usual neighbor cafe in HK; you go there for a convenient & tasty quick meal, and not for service or atmosphere or much else. Services is efficient with minimal interaction. They get the job done.

Do not come here if you're big and dark!! I'm 6'2, 230lbs. They did not make it subtle that they didn't want me in there even though I was accompanied by my Chinese friend who was treating me to a meal! It was the most horrifying dining experience of my life. I started to feel awkward and bad even for my friend who was getting the residual hate for having me at the table!
