Went here for my wedding anniversary with my husband. We went on a Friday at 6PM and sat in the dining room. I made sure to make a reservation beforehand. I was originally skeptical seeing a ton of bad reviews about being rushed, service not being great, etc. but decided to still check out as their menu was appealing to me. I am happy to say that Hendrick’s exceeded my expectations and I had a wonderful experience. Maybe the key here is the time you go. This was the best dining experience I’ve had in a while. Perhaps those who have had different experiences were there at busier times. All of the food was absolutely delicious. Our server gave impeccable service— the bottle of Cab we had with our meal is now a new favorite. I mostly appreciated that he did not rush us and how kind he was. For apps: Ahi - refreshing, delicious, so worth it— wish the juices at the bottom of the cup were poured all over the top as it would have made this dish even more satisfying. Baked clams- one of my favorite parts of the entire meal. I prefer little neck and was delighted that this was primarily what was on the plate. Some of the best baked clams I have had in years. Saved the bread that initially came out as we sat down to soak up the deliciousness left after all the clams were already gone. Wedge- they were kind enough to chop as we were sharing, it was refreshing, delicious and not too heavy. Not your typical wedge salad with blue cheese chunks - seemed to have their own twist on it and I can appreciate that. Main course: Porterhouse - cooked to perfection (we requested medium rare). I appreciated that it was cut for us and our server was able to tell us each cut he was putting on our plate. Definitely utilize the garlic they put alongside - it was perfectly soft and spreadable. We also opted for the chimichurri sauce- theirs was addictive. More sweet than spicy than your typical chimichurri sauce, still absolutely delicious. Dessert: We chose the key lime pie, which was so enjoyable as an end of summer dessert. Our server made the excellent suggestion of pairing with an espresso martini. He mentioned you could add some Baileys — husband and I declined the Baileys and got the espresso martini by itself, and it just completely rounded off the meal and was a perfect after dinner drink. I’m now a major lover of espresso martinis after this experience! Normally it’s something I wouldn’t have tried and I was delighted. Our key lime ended up being comped for our anniversary which was very sweet. While it was our anniversary, I was also in mourning of the death of a family member and couldn’t hold back some tears after looking at some of our wedding photos at dinner (major mistake on my part). The wait staff was so sweet coming to my rescue at the seemingly perfect time with some bar naps when I needed to bat my eyes. I will absolutely be back to try more of their apps (French onion soup & crab cake, I’m coming for you!) and the server had let us know about some off-menu specials that we were highly interested in (but had already had our hearts set on the porterhouse upon walking in). I want to say our server was Caesar— thank you for a great experience! One last thing to note FYI- parking is valet only if I remember correctly.

If you're looking for a top-tier steakhouse in Roslyn, Hendrick’s Tavern is a must-visit. Housed in a restored 1740 estate in the heart of historic Roslyn, it offers upscale dining with serious charm. Our dinner was outstanding: crispy calamari, ultra-tender grilled octopus, zucchini chips with almond garlic sauce, and rich lobster mac & cheese . The rib eye with bone marrow was perfectly cooked, and the pan-seared halibut was fresh and flavorful. Don’t miss the creamed spinach—it’s among the best in Roslyn. We ended with a warm brownie and vanilla ice cream—simple, classic, and delicious. Service was excellent.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. We got there a bit before our reservation time, but the hostess was so sweet and lead us to the bar area to grab a drink and enjoy a few moment outside. She came and got us when our table was ready. Despite the restaurant being busy, we enjoyed a leisurely dinner. The drinks were great, the food was good and our server was wonderful. We had crab cake, fried calamari, lamb chops, chicken and a chocolate dessert. Everything was great!

Great local steak restaurant whether for brunch, lunch or dinner. Fast, efficient valet service in & out. Do make reservations cause this restaurant does get very busy. Awesome tip: you can order steaks from the dinner menu even during brunch! They're the best choices! Yum 😋

A random stop on a Friday night, we made it just in time to get seats because the place filled up within minutes. I ordered the HT Burger which was cooked to order with perfection, nicely sized, and delicious. I was very satisfied with my meal. The waitstaff took great care of us with timely refills and check-ins. I always appreciate the supporting staff that do the “hard” work. Our main waiter wasn’t the most warm and fuzzy but wasn’t horrible either. But again, it got very busy and ya can’t fault someone for having a neutral personality :)

Hendricks Tavern is undeniably an upscale restaurant, with a gorgeous ambiance that sets the tone the moment you walk in. The atmosphere feels refined, warm, and perfect for a special night out. Their valet staff is excellent as well—professional, quick, and welcoming. While the setting was impressive, our service fell short (which from prior reviews seems to be a consistency). Our server, Jose, seemed a bit forgetful; he returned to our table asking what our drink order was, and the oysters we ordered never arrived (though at least they weren’t charged). The funny part came when we asked for his recommendation—he immediately pointed to the most expensive item on the menu, the tomahawk steak, which made it clear what he was aiming for. As for the food, it was good overall but had its highs and lows. The grilled octopus was a standout and highly recommended, especially compared to the calamari, which was noticeably chewy. The steak tartare was subpar, and while the filet wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite justify the price. Hendricks Tavern has a beautiful setting and great potential, but the experience is only as good as the service and consistency—and on this visit, those areas missed the mark.

This place is more of a steak house than a tavern. Really good upscale food like bone marrow and lobster Mac and Cheese 🧀. Valet parking only. Clean facilities. Great staff especially our server German, who was absolutely amazing! Steakhouse prices so bring your credit cards 💳. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back.

I visited Hendricks for a birthday brunch. The staff were quite nice and I really liked the bartender and the espresso martinis he prepared for me. The calamari was delicious, as was the pizza and the raspberry sorbet. I ordered a steak sandwich and substituted the fries with a salad. It was delicious, however, I and others who ordered a sandwich as well had great difficulty enjoying it because the bread was hard and seemingly burned. I just ate mine as a steak salad but some others chose to abandon their meals. I tasted the fries as well which were delicious.

Service and atmosphere were exceptional, from the valet , hostess, the Maitre’D bussers and servers. Appetizers were delicious, Zucchini and eggplant chips were awesome, sides of mash potatoes and crispy Brussel sprout leaves were just as good. Ending desserts were extremely large and tasty. My old fashion drink was spot on good. The only thing that was not to my liking was my Colorado rib eye steak. The meat itself was tender, but I ordered it medium well, specifically saying 160-165°, (medium well.) It came out exactly the same as my wife’s medium rare. The server offered to take it back and cook it some more, but that’s just not what I do. I brought it home for my son, who air fried it to his liking.

Came here for New Years Eve with 7:30 reservations. The place was jam packed which ok, it's NYE and that's expected. Was told our table was not ready and should be available in 10-15 minutes and to please have a seat in the lounge and they will call us. My husband went to the bar to get us drinks ($47 for 2 drinks) where a fight broke out between 2 drunk men. This was handled by staff and I understand things happen but this was not the way to start off the night. We weren't seated until about 30-40 minutes later which is really bad service since I made the reservation way in advance. I believe management was greedy in over-booking on NYE. Once seated we ordered our food and drinks. The waiter was not very attentive at all. Food came and was kind of a disappointment. My husbands short ribs were a bit overcooked and dry and my filet mignon was dry and a little tasteless. It's a shame because the place is cute and we were there last year for NYE and had a very nice experience. I don't know if we'll be returning anytime soon.

A very disappointing experience. I’m a food enthusiast and have been excited to try this place out, along with my large group of hospitality professionals. We are all regulars of Poll restaurants. We travel the world experiencing quality food spots and drove a good while to experience this place. We had a reservation confirmed. The reservation process and those I spoke with on the phone were all lovely. The host behind the counter however wasn’t. To the extend that his attitude and poor interpersonal skills made us leave before even starting our meal. He was very unwelcoming, unaccommodating, and didn’t seem like a fit for the hospitality business. Even though most of our group was there the host refused to seat us. I explained that it’s our cooperate Christmas event (which was noted on the reservation) and that I’ll be ordering food and drinks for everyone, and will keep them coming the whole time we are there. He still refused to seat us. We had a reservation for ten people and nine of us were already there. I explained the last person will probably come late cause of her job, but we are still ordering for ten people. He then started lecturing me on how I shouldn’t have made this reservation and how he doesn’t want us staying at a table for too long. When I told him I can’t keep my staff waiting like that without food or drinks he agreed that I should leave then. Another staff member - who witnessed the host’s behavior - even recommended us to go to a nearby restaurant instead which is what we ended up doing. We are glad we left and had a great time at the other restaurant. The host there was the opposite - kind, accommodating to a last minute reservation, and we ended up booking that other place for our next event next week. We walked out of Hendrick’s with a very poor first impression and none of us plan to go back or recommend it to our friends, family, or followers.
