Food servings were huge and very tasty. Service was excellent, especially TROY!
Great spot for breakfast. Had the Brisket Meatloaf this trip and easily the best meatloaf I've ever had, such a unique flavor. Bloody mary was nice and spicy as well. Highly reccomend a visit
WOW! I was blown away by this restaurant! Three out of four in our party had cocktails. The Lavender Heights Lemon Drop had sweetness on the rim and tart in the drink, perfect! The Ultima Palabra was a very well balanced tequila cocktail. In our party we ate Skillet Cornbread, Bourbon Bacon Collared Greens, Cheesy Grits, Grilled Brie, Brisket Meatloaf, and the Hot Brown sandwich. Everything was delicious! We were so impressed! Best collared greens I've ever had, the brisket meatloaf came with biscuits and gravy to die for, I was so stuffed! All the dishes had complex seasoning profiles too that we kept taking little tastes of to try and parse out the specific ingredients (even though I'd never be able to cook that good). Our server Alex was very attentive with service and refilling our waters which I really appreciated! Can't recommend this restaurant enough. I also think they should be charging more for their incredible food; my meal was huge (brisket meatloaf) and I easily have leftovers for dinner tomorrow.
This is my new brunch spot when I go to Sac! I had the brisket and biscuit! OMG!!! I had a mouthgasm it was so good! My wife had the Catfish Benedict and loved it. The maple bourbon latte was worth going there just when you want a coffee. Our waitress was great! We will definitely be back soon!
Hubby, myself and 2 daughters were here for the 1st time. We were all starving after a meeting with my oncologist. Being from the south, the name The Porch caught my attention. We were not disappointed. Our server Shelby, was AWESOME! We found out a bit into the ordering phase that she is also the manager. She does it ALL! Myself and 2 daughters are coffee hounds so one had regular coffee, one had white mocha and I had the bourbon caramel latte. All were excellent. I had 2 because it was sooooooo good. I had the Porch Salad w/added grilled chicken breast. Hubby had the Biscuits and Eggs w/sawmill gravy. 2 daughters split West of South Salad and Shrimp Po Boy. EVERYTHING was very tasty. Shelby was very attentive during our meal. Just an excellent experience. Great food, great service and great server/manager.
I wasn’t sure what I’d find for lighter options, but the staff was so accommodating. They suggested a grilled chicken salad with fresh vegetables, which was crisp, flavorful, and filling without being heavy. Service was attentive, and the bright, clean dining area with classic Americana décor made it a comfortable spot for mindful dining.
My friends and I went to The Porch for brunch together. The food was great, lots of Southern staples that you don't see very often in California. The atmosphere made it feel like a country diner. I'd definitely recommend reservations. We had six in our group and I don't think we'd have been able to get a table without a reservation since the restaurant is so small.
I took my husband to brunch for his birthday today. This place doesn’t disappoint. Amazing service, great atmosphere, and excellent food. We got the fried green tomatoes as a starter, I got the Brisket Meatloaf & eggs which also includes a biscuit and sawmill gravy, he got the shrimp & grits with a side of andouille sausage, and the mimosa package. Danny was a great server! We will definitely be back and will be bringing friends with us. When the food came it looked and smelled so good we forgot to take pictures
I’ve been here a few times, and every single visit has been phenomenal. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food is consistently top-notch, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. On one busy morning, I noticed a dip in food quality (it had just gotten a bit soggy due to it being busy) and mentioned it to my server. They immediately remade the dish to the same high standard I’d come to expect and even took it off the bill without hesitation. That kind of professionalism and accountability speaks volumes. Could not recommend this place more highly.
I'd call it southern cooking fusion. Food is well prepared. Only real complaint was the delay serving the table. First my entree came out, then a few minutes later another entree came out and then a few more minutes for the last 2 entrees to come out. Always awkward to be sitting at a table with food in front of you when none else at the table has their food.
My wife & I were here on a quiet Saturday afternoon. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Great service, comfortable & cozy atmosphere with food that has us looking for a reason to come back. The brunch menu had so many options...definitely something for anyone. We started with 1/2 order of beignets, with fresh fruit. Tasty & light..not too sweet. I ordered the "breakfast burger"..hearty & filling GREAT creation! My wife had the "avocado scramble" which was just enough for her. I am telling you, the menu has something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised it wasn't crowded...I am certain it will be next time.
We were a group of 8 with no reservations. Luckily after a round of cocktails at the bar we were seated in a perfect area at the back of the restaurant. Everything about the experience was excellent. Our waiter, Nick, was a lot of fun and he knew the menu like the back of his hand. The drinks were tasty. The food was phenomenal. The Shrimp Po Boy was as good as New Orleans any day. The brisket and eggs were killer. The chicken and waffles were ridiculously great. Everyone walked away saying the brunch was one of their best. We will absolutely be back and try to make a reservation next time.❤️
From start to finish, my wife and i enjoyed our afternoon date here. It was my first time visiting here for brunch, and it will not be the last. He arrived about 15 minutes before our 12:30 reservation (I highly recommend a reservation), and we were promptly seated within 10 minutes. Our amazing server was kind enough to warn us that meals take about 45 minutes to an hour. We started with two red sangria and a Bacon Cheese Roll. The sangria was fantastic, with a slightly different twist on an original. The bread is fresh and a great filler while waiting on our food. We order a second cocktail, the Porch Peach Tea & the Low Country Lemonade. Both were amazing, well-balanced cocktails. Our food came within the hour. At no time did it feel like we were waiting that long. We had the Gam Benedict and Brisket & Bisquit. The food was outstanding. My only regret was not having room left to try their beignets. Well, looks like we have a reason to go back, as if we needed one.
I visited The Porch today with my boyfriend for brunch. He ordered the chicken and waffle plate. The waffle was cooked beautifully and had a nice crisp bite to it, while still remaining soft inside. The chicken that came with the plate was tender style and was really tender and delicious. It definitely did not taste or appear like pre-frozen tenders other places use. I ordered the two-egg breakfast plate which was simple and appetizing. The biscuit and gravy was our favorite thing that we’ve tried. It was so good, we ordered a second one immediately after finishing the first. It was not busy when we went, which was Thursday around noon. Our server was very courteous and attentive.
Delicious food and excellent service! Had the Cajun Fried Beets, Shrimp Po'Boy, and Banana Pudding. Everything was delicious. The beets had a good heat kick from the spices which matched well their sweetness. The Po'boy was awesome: half the sandwich was a big portion (came with fries). The banana pudding was also delicious and big enough to share with a friend. The service was super friendly, helpful and polite.

The food was delicious - avocado scramble and the biscuit & brisket were delicious. Staff was very kind however it did feel a bit on the slower side to receive our food, that’s my only complaint. But otherwise, experience was lovely here. Will be back to try more items from their menu!
Our waitress took care of hubby and his shellfish allergy. They were really good at recommending options and recommended something else when I told them my espresso martini was not what I expected. Very attentive of us and our little one!! Kinda pricey tho not sure if it’s the Cali tax 🤔
My friend and I came across this place by Google maps. We were in the area and felt like brunch. We ordered food to eat later it was so delicious. The food was so fresh and good here. It tasted homemade. The service was good. My only complaint is trying to get double small things like extra butter because we were sharing our plates and didn't want to double dip. Getting the little things like butter to go, was strangely difficult. I mentioned I was allergic to pecans, when I went to eat my salad, I couldn't eat it. They didn't leave them off. This is why I wish restaurants would have their servers write everything down. When dealing with allergies and difficult orders it would help. I wasted money not being able to eat food later. The wonderful food, what I could eat, was the best fried green tomatoes that I have had. Better than my grandmother's. My friend loved the sausage gravy over the biscuit. We were going to save the bacon biscuit sandwich (not pictured)for dinner, but it was so good we ate it before I took a photo. I think that is also why I was upset about my salad (not pictured). I knew it would be great at dinner, only to see it had pecans. I had been looking forward to it all day. I would go back, but check everything before leaving. The food was too good not to return.
Food was great! Service was pleasant and attentive and ambiance was nice and friendly festival look.

I don't know what happened here but I've been coming here for years and the food now is overpriced and just not that good. That was not grits on any level in any region anywhere.

Not sure if there has been a change of Ownership... The food was not good (kindness way I can say...choose another Restaurant). The fried beets were salty and the sauce they were served with was essentially ketchup. The brisket / beef meatloaf was not good, nor was the greasy gravy. The mash potatoes were ok...I guess. Best thing on plate was the grilled corn. The biscuit was hard. Wait staff is nice.

Food came cold and lacking flavor. Eggs cold. Needed salt, pepper and hot sauce. Potatoes rock hard, could not eat. Also no flavor. Toast came cold. Server never came to check on us or the quality of the food. Never refilled coffee or soda. Chicken and waffles lacked flavor. Both dry. No butter with waffle. Server never came back so we couldn't ask for some. The establishment is cute but dirty. Under the table had food I stepped on. Ew. The ledge on the wall where we sat was extremely dusty. Which is gross for a place you eat at. Would not recommend or go back.
I don’t know who in the kitchen needs to hear this, but go find some spices and seasonings immediately! I was so excited to try this place yesterday and my family and I left incredibly disappointed. We ordered corn bread, chicken and waffles, fries, biscuits, Mac and cheese etc and I kid you not, ever single item was bland and flavorless. The only good thing about this experience was the service. The host and our server were really kind and helpful.
Let me start by saying we have been here before and our prior experience was better. We came for brunch. We waited about 12 min for a table even though the place was not that busy. We were OK, though. also will say that our server was super helpful and attentive. The problem and the reason for the 1 star were issues with food and the kitchen. Our order took over 40 min which was an issue with the kitchen as our server was constantly checking in us. When we got the food, the first thing was the scones were colds as ice and hollow inside. My avocado scrambled eggs was more slimy than anything else. The avocado felt as if it still had the skin on it. My wife French toasts were swimming in a liquid with an unbalanced flavor that made them uneatable. In fact, we left our plates as they are shown in the pictures as we could not eat them given the bad flavor, poor texture and overall bad experience. For the record, we pay the entire ticket and left a 18% gratuity as the server did. It has the fault for a terrible day in the kitchen. I am sorry but given this experience, I cannot recommend this place and it is unlikely I will ever go back.
