Right down on West 7th, just a short walk from where the Minnesota Wild play, we stopped into The Parlour for brunch with one mission: smash burgers. I almost caved and went French toast. Didn’t. Stayed disciplined. They told me, “Go to The Parlour for the smash burger.” Whoever “they” are… they were right. The smash burger is a brisket and ribeye blend, and you can taste it. Rich, beefy, cooked right. My wife and I both went simple — cheese only, no bacon, no extras — and it absolutely delivered. No gimmicks needed. The fries? Smacking. Crispy, seasoned just right. And don’t sleep on the Swiss aioli. That stuff is dangerous. Brunch smash burger over French toast? No regrets. Not one. If you’re near the Xcel area and want a burger that actually lives up to the hype, this is your spot.
What a wonderful dining experience. If there's only two of you, consider being seated at the high-top tables over looking the wonderful chefs. Food was delicious; the chefs work as a well oiled machine. The drink menu was fun & the pickles are insanely AWESOME! We even got 'road pickles' to take with us after dinner. 🤤.
Stopped in for lunch and had great service, quick food, and incredible burgers with non-alcoholic cocktails!
Highly recommended for any burger fans. Sam was a great waitress - very attentive and helpful with suggestions. Opted for the Tom Collins + Parlour Burger with egg and bacon. Got the side of fries - both aioli’s were absolutely amazing in flavor, however, the serving is quite big for even two people, so take that into consideration. If you’re familiar with Chicago’s Au Cheval, Parlour slightly resembles it. Will definitely be in my wife and I’s regular restaurant rotation going forward.
My friends and I tried this place because we heard that they have the best burgers in town. I was also cautiously optimistic because whenever I go to any restaurant know for their signature food item they always seem to cut corners on everything else. I got their Parlour Burger and added a friend egg and bacon. It was amazing considering that it was just meat and cheese! The sign of a good burger is that it doesn't rely on 10 extra fixings to be delicious. My extras definitely leveled up my burger, but I would've been just as happy without them. The bread and butter pickles were flavorful, crunchy, and generous! And the hand cut fries were awesome too - crispy outside, soft inside, and perfectly seasoned. The staff was super friendly and our food arrived surprisingly quickly, but it was also 10:30 a.m. on a Saturday. I couldn't find any fault with anything. My whole experience was just that good!
Our recent visit to Parlour Bar in Saint Paul was nothing short of exceptional! It was a true redemption experience. We were celebrating a birthday, and upon arriving at our table, we were greeted with a thoughtful, handwritten card---a personal touch that set the tone for the evening. The staff were incredibly friendly. What really set this experience apart was the outstanding service. Our server, Tim, went above and beyond, making sure we felt taken care of throughout the evening. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations made the dining experience even more enjoyable. I made the rookie mistake of not taking his recommendation to get the burger—and while my other choice was delicious, I’ll be living with that regret until my next visit! If you’re going to Parlour, trust the experts and order the burger. If you’re looking for a place that offers great food, excellent drinks, and top-tier service, Parlour Bar is a must-visit. It was truly an amazing experience, and I can’t recommend it enough. 5 stars!
This place is awesome! The service was absolutely amazing. The decor is super cute. And that burger. Oh. My. Goodness. So damn good. Fries were also delicious and the aioli is fire.
I've had a lot of burgers, and some are bad, some are good, they're rarely worth noting. This is an exception. Theres a reason it was rated best in Minnesota. And it deserves it. Warning - Comes no veggies kind smash burger style, but so worth it. Cocktails were also delicious and creative. Wine list is pretty good.
Absolutely fantastic place! My friend and I are in town for an event, and decided on this place on a whim. The atmosphere is very friendly, almost like a 50s diner and a pub in one! Sydney was absolutely fantastic, had so many great recommendations and really made us feel at home. The food is TO DIE FOR, the breakfast and lunch menu is simple, and the food is some of the most delicious I have ever had. 100/10 recommend to anyone that likes good bar atmosphere without the grossness of a traditional bar.
First time to visit and have the legendary Parlour burger but we couldn't just stop there. We started with the cauliflower (with a sweet and spicy taste) and Brussels sprouts (which had a nice little kick) as starters, and along with the burger combined with the super tasty, super cheese Mac and Cheese. The burger was very tasty but surprisingly simple, and I couldn't leave it there - I added mayo, mustard, ketchup, the pickles, and my secret: a large scoup of the mac and cheese. It was heavenly. The waitress Samantha was very friendly and attentive, and besides coming after 9pm on a Friday and being placed at the loud bar, the visit was enjoyable. Would definitely return when in St Paul.
I was excited to try Parlour after they'd won best burger in the twin cities. The burger is no joke, it's definitely one of the best I've had. I also enjoy the cauliflower, bread & butter pickles and mac & cheese as sides. Everything else I've tried has always been amazing, years after my first trip in. I highly recommend Parlour if you're in the mood for an amazing burger or some delicious drinks.
Wow, very worth making a reservation here. The beef stroganoff is. To. Die for. Wait staff were very well dressed and courteous. I'll definitely be coming back
Wow! We got reservations in the smaller dining room at 5:30 for dinner before a Wild game. The cheeseburgers were delicious! I got one with an egg, which was perfectly cooked sunny side up. I am picky about French fries. Parlour’s fries were perfect! Tried the King Pao Brussels sprouts. Another good dish! The non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing was also a standout.
While in town for a wedding, Parlour was highly recommended for their old fashioned & burger… and that’s exactly what we ordered. We all ordered our own drinks and split the burger (four ways haha because we this was a second lunch)…Both delicious. We ended up ordering a second burger to split again and multiple Old Fashioneds. If we return to St Paul, I’d go here again!
Burger almost lived up to the hype. Really delicious, don't get me wrong. Still thinking about that whipped goat cheese, though. Couldn't have asked for better service.
The Parlour Burger, as expected, was delicious. The Chicken Sandwich was cooked well but could've used more flavor. The fries were good. Despite being one of two occupied tables in the restaurant, our waiter was very slow. We'll likely be back in the future for burgers.
My partner and I just visited and we loved it! The southwest hash was our favorite as it was the perfect balance of flavors. The burger was just as great. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We live in the neighborhood and will definitely come again!
We came here after the St. Patrick's Day parade and were able to get seats after about a 45 minute wait. Given the circumstances this felt very reasonable, and we were well taken care of once we were putting in orders, etc. The table got a mix of beverages and almost everyone got the Parlour Burger. Everything tasted great and our server was super helpful and efficient. Overall, I can't ask for much better. 5 stars from me!
Delicious hamburgers and roasted cauliflower! Parlour burger has one of the best hamburgers in Minneapolis. Check it out if you love a good burger. I'm from Denver, CO and was told I needed to come try one while visiting. It was worth the trip and is on my top hamburger list.
If you like no nonsense smash burgers, you are going to love Parlour. Be sure to pair it with the French fries and Swiss Aoli. Other highlights include the deviled eggs and popcorn appetizers as well as the dill infused chicken sandwich.
Lately we've been trying new restaurants every Sunday for our couple's brunch outing ! And I must say we've been kind of disappointed, however this place did not disappoint. Everything was well balanced as far as seasoning, nothing was too salty everything was tasty. Services great and quick and the atmosphere is lovely.
Great, quick service and very tasty food. Being from a food city was unsure of what to expect in my first Minnesota visit, but the food at Parlour hit the spot. Recommend sharing many dishes family style so you can try it all. My favorites were the scallops and the burger. Mac and cheese was also super tasty but a very large portion. Brussel sprouts were tasty but could have probably gone without since we filled up on the burger and scallops
St. Paul Local - The cocktails, food, and atmosphere are all elevated (so are the prices). The old fashion was fantastic! I ordered their semi-famous burger. It has to be the best looking burger i’ve ever seen. It’s taste was top tier, meet flavors were great, cheese was great, bun was superb, thick cut delicious bacon, the egg was gorgeous although slightly over cooked. I would recommend to anybody, perhaps in my top 10 favorite burgers. I wish they could serve the burger medium rare but my server insisted well done was the only way to have it. I also wish they had some kind of burger sauce to accompany. The fries and swiss aioli are a must, although they don’t come with the burger and together are an extra $10 for a side order. Highly recommend!
Arguably the #1 burger in the city is supported by an excellent menu, I recommend the chicken & dumplings and mac & cheese. The cocktails here are absolutely top tier including one of the best old fashionds I have ever had!
One of the burgers I've ever had! I've traveled to lots of countries, in search of the best burger. Parlour's is up there in my top 2. Don't come here for the atmosphere or service, but the burger itself makes totally up for it.
My husband and I LOVE Parlour St. Paul. They have great drinks, delicious food, and an appetizing atmosphere. Everyone there is super chill and knowledgable. I don't normally like pickles, but their house-made pickles absolutely make the parlour burger.
We visit often, and I’ve never left a review. The bar is cozy. The team is awesome. Love the cocktails. There is always a surprise! The other night they were out of the brisket sandwich and Will recommended the Chicken Fried Steak—bomb. That damn banana bread! Mmm and had some secret snickerdoodle cookie the other day. Two other things. If you’re visiting because, “you heard about the burger,” you are looking for the Parlour burger. Sorry, those others don’t stand a chance. Happy Hour? Chicken bites! Thanks team.
My friends and I ate here tonight. We were at a conference in the St. Paul area. Our experience was AMAZING! Our Gemma was one of the best servers I have had in years (which is a lost art). You could tell she LOVED her job. She knew the menu, she could patiently engage our questions, she was not pushy, she could walk us through the journey of their restaurant. My friends and I left raving about two things: (1) our server, Gemma, and (2) the burger she recommended (the way she recommended it).
We had a fantastic experience last night at Parlour. The parlour burger + egg was terrific in all respects - highly recommend! Drinks were super great and nice variety available, high quality mixology. Service from Maccela (spelling?) was on point and made things work for our large group. Very accommodating when we last minute changed from a group of 7 to a group of 14. I would def go back!
The perfect "classy pub" worth incredible food. The burgers were simply top notch. Tim, our server, was among the best I've ever had. A great combo of knowledge, humor, suggestions and class. I'll be going here whenever I'm in the area. Great job.
We went during the Happy Hour specials. 4-6 pm. Enjoyed having some apps and drinks on the HH menu. Then all 7 of us had the famous Parlour Burger. We enjoyed the regular fries more than the loaded fries. Brussel sprouts were delicious.
The Parlour burger did not disappoint. The meat was amazing, and the egg on top was an excellent choice. My only complaint is the $4 bacon add on, which resulted in a single tiny piece of bacon placed on top of my burger. Aside from that, very satisfied with the burger. The old fashioned and other specialty cocktails were excellent. The service was also a highlight, very much appreciate that. The hash browns were disappointing, it tasted like they cooked them the day before, and then just put a cold chunk on the plate. The loaded fries were okay, better than the hash browns. I will try a different side the next time I go back.
There’s a lot to like at Parlour, and several things that could be improved. Improvements needed first: this was my second or third visit here, and it was a Friday night and I did not have a reservation, but it was only 5:50 PM and it was a party of two! When we walked in -as soon as they found out, we didn’t have a reservation, —and there were LOTS of tables open- the mood turned icy quickly. The two hostess people said we could sit at a shared community high top as long as we were gone by 7:00 for an incoming reservation. I asked if they had any low tables because I prefer a low table to high tops and they said no they were all reserved. The overall attitude was that they were doing us a favor by seeing us without a reservation rather than being pleased to see us or friendly, or even apologetic. That needs improvement. We got to our shared community hightop, which was a six person table with two people at one end and us 2 on the other end. It was fine, but it set the mood a tiny bit badly from the hostesses attitudes. The great: Our waiter was super friendly, helpful and easy-going. He reminded us that there was still 10 minutes of happy hour if we wanted to order off the happy hour menu and he had good suggestions and the right amount of attentiveness. We ordered drinks and the deviled eggs and brussels sprouts. Deviled “eggs” is bit of a misnomer as it is only one egg split in half as deviled eggs are served. My husband (who loves deviled eggs,) said it was probably the best one he’s ever had and the only downside was he wished there was more. :) The brussels sprouts come with a Kung Pao chili sauce, which was heavily soy sauce-y and a bit spicier than I like (even with a good spice tolerance for a very pale Minnesotan, lol.) They had a delicious smokiness, but the micro greens on top were unnecessary. The peanuts are a lovely touch. I’d get them again for sure. We shared an order of fries- very good fries -nice amount of saltiness, but the fries were really clumped together in big chunks, they could improve them by breaking the fries up before dropping them in the fryer. We also shared their Parlour Burger- which for $18 was well worth it and not much more than a typical burger cost. The burger has a mix of ground chuck, ribeye, and brisket with white American cheese, and two dollars extra for a fried egg on top. Highly recommend! A friendlier more welcoming attitude upon arrival would go a very long way, but overall pretty good!
My girlfriend and I decided to dine here last night. We sat by the bar on the far side and were greeted soon after. Server was nice, knowledgeable and insightful. There was a cold breeze inside so we moved over to the side away from the windows. We tried some of the specialty cocktails. They were pretty sweet with the syrups and all, but interesting. We ordered more than we could handle but it was all very good. First, we ordered the bone marrow. It was her first time and she loved it! I was craving it so bad and it was very nicely prepared. 😋 We then ordered fries with the Swiss aioli, the parlour burger with bacon, and the chicken and biscuits. Fries were nice and hot, while the aioli was very cold. It warmed to room temp during the meal. The burger is great of course, one of my favorites. The $4 piece of bacon was definitely not worth it. Photos attached. The biscuits on the chicken dish were a bit dark to be desired. Overall, I'd go back for the bone marrow. I think the burger is better at the Mpls location. Until my next visit back to good Ole MN... ✌️
Had a nice dinner and great experience here. The menu is a bit small and laid out oddly, where there are some sides that are small, then larger sharable sides. But very few entrees. They are known for their burger which my wife said was excellent. I had the chicken sandwich which was ok. We ordered the pickle appetizer and brussel sprouts which were ok but not great. My old fashioned was very good but cost $15 which starts to push against what I consider reasonable at least here in MN. I did really like the tables and atmosphere of the restaurant. Jan 2026: Gotta be the best old fashioneds in the twin cities. Especially now that Volstead changed their recipe.
Overall a nice restaurant with an interesting menu. I had a crazy cocktail called "The Cure" which was really good. I'm still buzzing! LOL. House music was good. Great location. Friendly staff. I ordered their Parlour Burger which is a 1/2 lbs double decker smashed cheese burger plus fries (at an additional cost). The server really pressed for me to also get the aioli sauce. Garlic makes me sick. I had to tell him three times 'no'. Frustrating that he didn't register I had no interest. When he delivered the fries lo and behold there was a little dish of aioli sauce perched on top the dish. Worse, he managed to send the aioli container flying, it broke on the floor and got glob of the sauce all over my friends shoes. No big deal. Things get spilled. But why the hell was the sauce there anyway. This server wasn't particularly attentive to our table tho the place was basically empty. The burger was tasty but salty salty salty. The fries were McDonald grade fries and mine were stuck together. As in, when I wanted a fry I had to break it free from the glob. My bill for me and my guest was $82 before tip (a little high but I had that mixed drink and my companion had two craft beers). I'm fine with the cost but disappointed with the quantity.
Really good service friendly bartenders and servers. The food was hit and miss. We tried the country fried steak which was not great the crust was a little soggy and the gravy tasted like the flour hadn't been cooked out enough but the Parlor burger and fries were wonderful. Great cocktails! I recommend the bloody and the peach cobbler if available, it was the cocktail of the moment.
We came here for brunch and tried the pot roast hash, avocado tartine with smoked salmon, parlour burger, brussel sprouts and fries with aioli. Hands down the burger won all the way!! The sprouts had a distinct taste of horseradish which was slightly odd to me. Overall cool joint and vibe.
Had New Years Eve dinner here with a friend. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal even though we had to sit at the bar. Their system messed up several reservations. The bartender was friendly and attentive, made a great cocktail. The place is beautiful and it's not too loud. Strongly recommend.
UPDATE 2/26/23: I spoke with a representative from Parlour who among other notes explained that the service charge will always be removed upon request. So as an update to my review and those who are considering dining here you should know that the charge is optional. I did challenge her about the wording of the charge on the menu as this is not clear or even mentioned as an option but sadly it seems that the teachability value for Parlour and their desire to improve ended there... I have not heard back since my suggestion in my reply to their email. 🫤 ORIGINAL REVIEW: Parlour had some menu items that sound better on paper than they are executed. I ordered the BBQ grilled cheese and loaded fries. The fries were good though lacking in toppings and much smaller than the regular fries order. The grilled cheese was ok... But the bbq was a bit dry and though I couldn't pinpoint the cheeses used it didn't add any significant flavor. The bread was crunchy and not soggy which was nice. Overall I would say portions are a bit on the smaller side and prices are on the higher side. They also add a 5% fee on every order to help pay for health benefits for their employees which I thought was a bit weird... But maybe this is typical in MN ? Overall I'd say try another spot 🫤
Another City Tin coaster in the books. Dined at Parlour Bar St. Paul. Enjoyed the uniqueness of popcorn fried in bacon fat and coated in pineapple dust. I thought the meat blend in the burger was top notch but the $14.50 price point for just the burger did seem a bit high. Fresh cut fries were a table favorite. Cider was tart and I am a fan of that so two thumbs up from me there.
Overall a good restaurant. Prices are a bit high for what you get. The burger is good but at $18 with no sides it's not THAT good. The night I was there our waiter was nice but rarely around and we spent a bit of time with empty drinks. The Ginger Snap and Parlour Old Fashioned were great and so was the creamy spinach and artichoke appetizer. Overall good just expensive and lackluster service for the price.
I brought my son to the Parlour in St. Paul during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, expecting I would run into my usual crew from Uptown Valet (friend from the gym owns it) but to my surprise there was a new group running the Valet, it was not immediate that we were met by the people parking the car which was strange, when we returned to the restaurant after the game, I was met with an unusual comment when I returned my ticket to the host stand to collect my car keys; I am sorry but we do not have your keys? I was somewhat shocked, but understand that mistakes happen, however it took a good hour or more before the person that left with my keys was able to return them back to the restaurant. The restaurant manager was very accommodating for the inconvenience, and I have nothing but good things to say about the food and level of service.
Looking forward to the Parlour Burger. It was very good. The waitress was too busy to get back to us after food was served. Would of loved some condiments. She was very apologetic but fries without ketchup which I asked for never came.
Really a disappointment. The staff was nice but the service was sooo slow. We arrived early (4:50pm) and it was not busy but yet we were waiting for drink refills. Popcorn - great flavor - lacked freshness. Burger- way over salted and no pepper - bun and patty were so dry! We removed the stale bun and dipped the burger in BBQ sauce. The chicken sandwich lacked flavor - the aioli was delish but not enough to cover the entire sandwich. Has potential but needed execution - would not return.
The bright spots of this meal were our server Tim and good drinks. The service was pretty slow waited about an hour to even place our order ended up being here for two hours just for brunch (it was not busy at all). The bacon wasn’t really bacon was more pork belly and the brisket in the scramble was not brisket it was mostly fatty chunks of steak. Poached egg was overcooked and the Benedicts don’t come with sides it is just the egg and ham on english muffin. Ended up being expensive for a less than mediocre meal. Really disappointing. Expected a cute, slightly fancy brunch meal but met with poor service (albeit friendliness), inaccurate menu descriptions, and sub-par food. Will go to Burger Dive next time.
The service was excellent for dinner. The Drink Du Juor and my Old Fashioned were tasty and intoxicating. ( - : My wife’s wedge salad, and our fries were also yummy. Unfortunately, my $22 bacon burger was over cooked and dry. I’m an old soldier and will eat anything. I don’t mind paying for a nice meal but I don’t feel I got my $22 worth. The pricing at Parlour is premium but with modest portions. My suggestion: raise prices & include sides OR Downsize plates to “tapas” or shareable with lower prices. I’m not sure who Parlour is catering to. Is it a neighborhood place with affordable comfort food Or more upscale boutique French organic farm to table? I really wanted to like this place… how difficult is it to get a burger right?
Atmosphere was nice, Burger was extremely dry, food took forever to come out. Highly disappointed, not recommended, overpriced. You'll be better off at McDonald's and Burger King
It’s restaurant week, but I guess this restaurant only serves an “event” menu on certain days, so we purposely came down to try the place for restaurant week just to find out they advertised for it but weren’t doing it that day. My issue, other restaurants put their exclusion days on the restaurant eeek website,. Second, the manager on duty that day could have cared less. I mentioned it to him and he all but shrugged his shoulders and said we don’t do restaurant week on game days with a shrug. Could have cared that you let potential future customers leave without a fair explanation for the mis communication. A simple, “yes I’m sorry, that wasn’t communicated. In order to serve people in a timely manner we need to do event menus in game days. Sorry that it didn’t get communicated better.”
Ordered the “deviled eggs” came with ONE singular egg. Paid $7.50 for one egg! So ridiculous. I mean we knew the economy was bad but seriously one singular egg when you order the deviled eggs (please fix menu from plural eggs to egg) Also ordered the parlour burger and was the most basic and plain burger we’ve ever ordered. Wouldn’t go here ever again unfortunately, maybe they can serve more eggs? Never been to a restaurant with deviled eggs on the menu, my boyfriend and I were really looking forward to multiple eggs. I feel like the waiter may have been a little embarrassed for serving us one singular egg so I felt a little bad for him. Genuinely thought it was a prank. Trader Joe’s sells eggs for $4 a dozen btw I would recommend that before coming here again. One egg is crazyyyyyy work.
