Our server Arturo made our dinning experience amazing! He was attentive, funny and made us feel very welcome. We got there when the lunch rush was hustling and bustling, and he still managed to be attentive. This place has been open for a very long time. I love the decor. Now onto the food. We ordered the sesame chicken, and the combination chow mein, which was really good, but the sesame Chicken was definitely the showstopper. Our whole dining experience was amazing. The food was great. You do get a lot of food for your money. Thank you again. Arturo, for making this visit. Memorable.

This is THE place for Chinese food in San Antonio. It was super crowded but it didn't take long to get a table. The food was really good, great lunch specials, didn't take too long for our meal to arrive either. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Did I mention the food was good??? 😋

We had an incredible dining experience at Ding How Chinese Restaurant in San Antonio! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting—but what truly made our visit unforgettable was our amazing server, Sam. Sam went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect—attentive, friendly, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring everything came out just right. The recommendations were spot-on and made the whole experience feel special from start to finish. The food itself was phenomenal—every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. You could really taste the freshness and authenticity in every bite. Between the incredible service from Sam and the delicious food, Ding How has easily become one of our new favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing Chinese food and top-notch service!

Omg the food is so authentic and so delicious. They have the wokhei flavor and it is hard to find anywhere else. Wokhei, is a smoky, charred taste from stir-frying in a carbon steel wok over a very high flame And the prices are amazing. You can feed a family of 7 for only 50 bucks You order and they place your dishes on the last Susan table top and you have a “ personal buffet” A very successful family business

The atmosphere is amazing, carved wooden framed art with fine details, calligraphy paintings, ink paintings paired with friendly and attentive service and absolutely divine food and fragrant teas. You won't regret it, ask for Sam's section. She is amazing and you won't regret it.

Every time I go to SAT, I go to Ding How. I love the sweet and sour chicken here. The food raspy is delish and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. Great service and really good food. The drinks are bad either.

This place was recommended to me by many locals and I'm upset with myself for not trying it sooner! This is seriously the best Chinese food I've had since living in San Antonio. They have a beautiful entrance and you're hit with an amazing aroma from the food when you walk in. My waitress katy was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. I was off to a good start with the crab ragoons, they were fresh and at my table within minutes; crispy and filled with their flavorful cream and green onion filling. I ordered the combination (chicken, beef, and shrimp) lo mein and it was seasoned to perfection, all the meats were tender, the noodles weren't dry but also not drenched in sauce, and it's honestly a large portion. Hot oil was offered, nothing needs to be added but I added some because I like some spice. Definitely a must try if you're in the area and craving some Chinese food!

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in San Antonio! I honestly think their orange chicken is the best in the city! Make sure to bring friends because these portions are huge and I encourage to share. The orange chicken is so good however that I keep it all to myself 😋

Great place to eat Chinese food in San Antonio! Ding How serves great tasting food, and the ambiance is a little “old school”. Waiters and waitresses were friendly, and it seemed like a great place for all (couples, families, etc). I highly recommend this place!

13 years being in this city, and I am barely finding out about the BEST Chinese restaurant in San Antonio. As I was walking in, I was immediately taken aback by the incredible detail and effort, decorating the restaurant. The food has an authentic and exquisite taste that keeps you wanting more. Im definitely going back.

Aside from them not accommodating to my medical card for a smaller charge for a smaller portion due to weight loss surgery… (typically most places accommodate this is medical card) but the food was amazing! Great priced! & the amount of food is amazing. I do not believe the photos justify the amount of food on the plate. My waiter Manuel was extremely kind and very helpful! Definitely going to return.

The restaurant was so clean I would like to say that to begin. I was very impressed that the meal I ordered was a full breaded chicken breast neatly sliced. It was not smothered in sauce, I was able to dip my chicken slices into the orange sauce. The shrimp and noodle meal was amazing also. The noodles were thick and perfectly cooked. I was extremely happy with the service. The server was very kind and attentive always making sure I had enough water to quench my thirst. Because of this restaurant, I am very excited to return back to Texas from my home state Idaho.

First time here and everything was excellent. Maggie was our server and she was great! Food was good and fast, ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and it was delicious. Definitely coming back to try the other dishes.

FOOD: *Foid is very fresh. *Portions are ample. Smaalervappitites can probably share 1 entrée. *This food definitely has ample sodium, which is common in oriental foods because n ost us MSG. This might restrict what those on a restricted sodium diet can order. SERVICE: *Our waitress, Alvina, was very cordial and effiicient. She checked our table ample times, but was not overbearing. *our orders were on spot, as my wife cut the onions in her chicken fried rice entreè. ATMOSPHERE: *Bilding is on pillars, so you are elevated. There are no windows, so you have no elevated views. *ornate Asian wood and artwork adorn the place. *To me, kind of a cozy vibe, but I wouldn't call it romantic.

We've lived in SA since 1998 and had never been to Ding How until shortly before last Christmas (2025). Our meals ( lunch specials) were very good and although it was very busy, we had excellent table service and do recommend dining there. However, there has to be a better set-up for customers that line-up to wait for a table (have to be assigned a number). They're in a narrow walkway and there's barely room for both, customers coming in and those leaving.

This place was okay. Food wasn't bad but I can't say I enjoyed it either. I went with my go-to Generals Tso chicken and it was different from what I'm used to. I like a more spicy Generals chicken theirs is almost sweet. The portion was extremely large and it could've easily been a shareable plate. The rice was good just a tad dry. I'd much rather pay the same price for a much higher quality dish. I can't complain, it was good enough. I did try a bit of their orange chicken which i did enjoy. Our server was Katie, she was sweet and very attentive. My drink never went empty and I always had exactly what I needed. The place was pretty busy given the time of day. The restaurant was pretty nice and felt authentic. I liked their little fountain pond at the entrance. The music was also suiting which added to the experience. I hear so much about this place and perhaps I just didn't order one of their best dishes. I'd be back to try some more options in the future.

We really enjoyed the food, everything came out very fast and fresh. We all got different entrees and everything was so good. The egg rolls were huge and crispy so delicious, the rice was fluffy and moist not dried out. The chicken and beef on all of our plates were so tender and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable for the large portions you get

Ordered 4 plates of food for 3 people, since for whatever reason they don’t let you sub rice for lo mien with an up charge. Regardless, the food was NOT great at all, very bland flavorless taste. I ordered the sweet & sour chicken, orange chicken, chicken & vegetables, and chicken lo mien, and all 4 were a miss. Although it’s a nice place, with nice staff, the food is definitely not worth the cost, 1st time there, last time as well. Of the 4 plates, the lo mien was the best tasting, but still not worth the cost, and the steamed rice was mashy. Sometimes food is better when you sit in the restaurant, but I took this to go, only to be disappointed when I got home. Anyhow, this food is mediocre, at best, but definitely not worth the cost.

I don't understand the good reviews. By far the worst restaurant I've eaten at, not just the worst Chinese restaurant, the ABSOLUTE WORST restaurant. I made the mistake not looking at the photos first as I would of had an inkling about the focus on quantity over quality. Majority of the food was bland and cold. Our family ordered the lunch specials and here are the summaries for each order: 1. Lemon Chicken- extremely large portion, sauce lacks depth, and rice is a weird texture and not like any fried rice I have ever seen. It is more like days old boiled rice that wasn't quite fried. The sauce is some type of red sauce. I could not eat the rice. 2. Sweet and Sour Pork- again, extremely large portion, sauce had no flavor and had too much gelatin or cornstarch. It was as if they microwaved it beyond the acceptable temperature and then cooled down into a goop. The meat tasted old. The food was served cold with the rice and was all inedible. 3. Mongolian Beef- served cold and flavorless with the rice. 4. Mongolian Chicken- served semi-warm and flavorless. Served with the rice. Other food we ordered and here are the summaries for each: 5. Crab Rangoons- a misnomer as there was zero crab or even crab flavor in these. Just a dollop of flavorless cream cheese. 6. BBQ Pork Ribs- extremely chewy. It took over 30 minutes to eat one. I believe these had been previously cooked and then put either in a fryer or oven way past cooking time. This made the meat tough and inedible. 7. Egg drop soup- was decent and came out before the rest of the food. 8. Egg Roll- very large and tasty. This is the only item I actually ate in full. It came out before the food. 9. Iced Tea- served unsweetened and not much of a flavor. Service The server was pushy and wanted my husband to share his soup. He did not want to and she still brought 4 bowls despite asking for 2. Also, the servers are zigzagging everywhere with their carts. The food carts used to serve the food are dirty and have not been cleaned in a long time. Gratuity is automatically added (not sure for how many people). Ambiance Tables too close together and many people talking loudly. Waiting area crowded and as aforementioned, servers and other workers zigzagging through tables and crowds. Everything has years of accumulated dirt such as the restroom and walkways and the serving carts. Conclusion I don't understand the appeal of this place. I always saw this building but never ate here and after trying it I will never return. I don't know what Chinese food people have been eating to believe that this is the best Chinese food around.
