Kahramana is small, restaurant in the Medical center area. It is a super cute and intimate setting and the food is so delicious! All of the staff is so sweet, but our favorite is the young lady that's usually there in the evening. My favorite order is the Chicken Shawarma plate and the Dolmas. They also have a huge family meal that is delicious and super affordable. This is one of our favorite places to eat.

Karmhana Place is a hidden gem for shawarma and Mediterranean cuisine! The food is delightfully delicious, with bold, authentic flavors that truly satisfy. The portions are generous, making every meal feel like a feast. Add to that a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you've got the perfect spot for a tasty and relaxing dining experience. I came to San Antonio for work and I was staying in the medical center and found this gem! And it totally is not only exceptional with the food and taste, the waitress was very sweet and the restaurant very clean! I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend. Parking is in the back of the building. Loved that the bathroom was clean and all the moment you walk in the door. The female server was super sweet!

We were floored at this restaurant. It’s such a clean and pristinely kept dining area. The proudly displayed their 100 score on the front door. I ordered a beef wrap. Tender and perfectly seasoned meat. Fresh crunchy lettuce and tomato. My wife got the lamb plate, it was all excellent. We cleaned our plates. Rice has a nicely seasoned flavor. Hummus was a double dip. Yummy! The lamb was perfectly seared. Flavorful. Love that they cook on coals. Spoke after the meal to Mohamed, such a genuine person and friendly. Very much pride shown in their food as well as their establishment. Will be coming back to try a couple things he recommended. One being the hamburger! Also had a nice cup of Iraqi tea. Hit the spot at the end of a delicious, filling and soulful experience. Highly recommend. And will return as frequently as possible.

Do NOT miss out on this gem! The staff and owner are incredibly kind and helpful. Definitely a place where it’s hard not to order half the menu. We did the Iraqi tea, pomegranate smoothie, falafel app, veggie app and beef kabob plate. The hummus is a do not miss. So incredibly smooth and creamy. The beef was very savory and flavorful. The rice that came with the dish was perfectly spiced. Will definitely be back.

Garlic sauce is delicious and the hot sauce is Thai level hot, so pour with a light hand. The place is exceptionally clean and staff is super happy to greet customers. The food came out promptly. I ordered the chicken platter to watch my macros. This definitely competes with chipotle but it tastes much fresher and side salad went really well with the meal. I ended the meal with a tradition Iraqi tea. Really wonderful find and I might even come back tomorrow as I’m on a quick trip in San Antonio. Definitely recommend.

Dropped in to give this place a try. The waitress was friendly and helped me decide on Chicken Tikka plate. As I waited I noticed the interior was small but nicely decorated and very clean. My plate arrived in short time and I was surprised on the generous portions. This came with rice, salad, bread, grilled tomato wedge, and grilled chicken with dipping sauce. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of salad dressing. The rice was cooked perfectly and the grilled tomato was a nice complement to the rice. The chicken by itself was crazy good, grilled textured on the outside but very tender on the inside and excellent mix of spice flavors. Adding the sauce to the chicken was heavily. I ended the evening with a delicious baklava. I very much enjoyed all aspects of the tasty delights here and you could tell the staff took care and pride in preparing and cooking this fulfilling meal. This was my first time here and will definitely be back to try other dishes. 👍

The food beef kebab was so tender and flavorful. We enjoyed the different plates with hummus and pita. The service was wonderful.

Service was good, guy taking my order was nice. I order take out, the food had great serving which is also a plus, but personally I think the gyro meat lacked flavor. Think it does need a touch more spices and some salt. Overall it was okay, restaurant was clean and service was good. I also think the price point for just meat a la carte is a little on the higher side.

I was not impressed by anything about this place, our meal, or our service (or lack thereof). 1st, we had someone with us in a wheelchair and they had a long section of tables with chairs marked reserved. Being that someone in a wheelchair cannot sit in a booth, that reserved table with chairs that could be moved so someone in a wheelchair can dine was nearly the only option.. Yet, they tried to seat us at their round booth. Uhh, no!! They did have 1 very small table at the front of the restaurant that ended up being the only 'workable option' so I diverted them trying to push the wheelchair up to the round booth table with us going to the small table instead. Important to note that the long reserved table remained empty for the entirety of our meal... Once we ordered our fountain drinks were brought out in cans. Then, the food started coming and the table quickly became much smaller. I didn't like anything on my plate, but didn't say anything as I didn't see it getting any better over my objections.. As others emptied plates, to make room on the table, I started stacking plates on the chair we sat beside the table so our friend in the wheelchair could get up to the table. Those plates sat there until we left despite the fact that our server passed by our table several times, and the manager or owner was seated in a booth right next to us fiddling with something on his phone, clearly able to see the stacked plates on the chair and aware of his surroundings, even answering our question when we asked the server if they recycled the aluminum cans they served our drinks in. No, I won't be back and aparantly others feel the same way as their business was mostly empty for the duration of our meal. Clearly though, they take reservations! Ha!!

I’m so so disappointed and can’t believe that I fell for these 5star reviews. I’ve eaten Mediterranean food all my life and I’ve never felt so angry at my self for ordering food from this place. The meats had no seasoning and it was absolutely tasteless, chicken is over cooked, dry and pale. and the lamb kebab smells funky. The only grilled veggies I got were the tomatoes. Garlic sauce is not authentic garlic sauce. I don’t like mayo and I can definitely taste the cheap mayo brand in the what ever sauce they gave me. Rice had old brown potatoes pieces which I thought pieces of meat. The hummus had a strange dark color, flavorless and no where close to a traditional hummus. The salad is completely wilted. Will never ever recommend this place.
