very lively restaurant, the manager was extremely attentive and helpful. the mussels are amazing, i would recommend the mariniere over the provencale broth. we also had the steak au poivre and onglet avec frites...... i recommend the onglet.....oh my goodness so flavorful. a great restaurant and we will come back when we are in san antonio again. a little on the pricey side to make a regular visit if we were living in the city

Pretty European in character and unusual for a place here in San Antonio. Tim our host/server/busser was very attentive. Icy, the lady owner also stopped by our table to check on us. Her family is from northern Belgium and she was happy to share with customers who have visited there. The food was good, but not excellent. The cauliflower soup was very good and the daily specials of mussels with crayfish in a tomato based sauce was adequate, but lacked any special pizzazz - flavor was flat and there was no discernable heat. Most disappointing to me were the frites - after which this place is named. They had a non-Belgian crispy coating and were mushy on the inside. (I suspect they were sourced as pre-seasoned and just cooked once as opposed to the traditional double frying process starting with fresh sliced raw potatoes.) Also, they were served with a non- descript aioli sauce and plain ketchup. There was no sauce andalouse in the house - which is the preferred/authentic sauce in Belgium. I will work with the management there to see if we can upgrade the food before we go back again. I should add that there are lots of other interesting menu items which we have not tried yet.

Finally, a place with quality food that you don’t need to be a billionaire to eat there!! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. The seafood puff pastry I had was fantastic, the frites were “ok”, overall great place.

Just an all-around GREAT place to have a wonderful meal and be served by top-shelf staff. Nothing stuffy or affected about this place at all...just delicious food, awesome Belgian beers...on DRAFT too...and great times await! Go here and not some pretentious cafe/bistro/trattoria run by a faceless mega corp. or some trendy chef with only a first name who named the resto 'beet-root' or 'the foam kollectiv'.

La Frite has become our go-to for special occasions or whenever we’re in a mood to feel special. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is entirely European, and the service is wonderful. Theres nothing quite like it in San Antonio.

My family and I ate here a year ago when visiting SA and loved our meal, so we decided to come back this time around. It was even better than we remembered! The restaurant itself is really cute and cozy with great ambience, and you feel welcomed as soon as you step through the door. We ordered a French Chardonnay and a Belgian Tripel which were great, and started things off with the Pear & Gorgonzola Salad and the Brie & Onion tart. All were delicious. For dinner, we had Moules, Frites and Steaks, which we could not stop eating long after we were full. They brought out a birthday dessert of Chocolate Mousse for us, and it was perfect. Our server, Clarissa, was so sweet and attentive. She took great care of us and made us feel at home! Another great experience at La Frite, wish we had this at home in Austin!

If you’re looking for an incredible French restaurant in San Antonio this is your place! My go to is the Mussels & Frites but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Great food and wine pairings that can’t be beat.

Eaten here twice now. Best moules frites I have had in the US and on par with the best of France and Belgium. Moules mariniere and moules curry (thai) are both fantastic. Fries are amazing as well. Super crispy both times. Given the fact that I visit San Antonio infrequently, I do not know if I will ever get to try the rest of the menu as I’m gonna have to order moules frites.

La Frite is one of San Antonio's little Southtown gems, boasting authentic, scratch made French/Belgian dishes, a wide wine selection, and a cozy, homelike interior. A European native, I bring my out of towners to this little bistro, to give them a taste of genuine Euro-cooking in Southern Texas. My favorite, in and out of France, is the chicken vol-au-vent. Highly recommend for lunch or an intimate, casual dinner.

First time going and it was very nice! Service was friendly and courteous! The food was really delicious. I had the handset hanger steak with frites, that was good! My wife had the tenderloin that was very good as well! I'd go back for the tenderloin 😊 We also had mussels and escargot. Really good! The atmosphere was nice and elegant but got noisy quickly once more people were inside. Overall it wasn't too bad and would definitely go again!

My husband and I met a group of friends here and although there were 10 of us, the service was fantastic. After finding parking - since Southtown can be very hard to find a place to park - we had a great time and a great meal. Our wait staff and host were very patient in answering any questions we had about the menu, since we had never eaten here. The appetizers (an onion crepe and a crab meat and mushroom crepe) were delicious. My husband and several others had the steak and fries and said they were very good. I had the battered lobster tails and fries and loved it. Last but not least, we had a lemon tart for dessert. It was just indescribably delicious.

Clarissa was our server, amazing young lady!! She did a great job and taking care of us. Food was amazing, with the exception of the chicken. It was a little dry but the sauce saved it. Over all would definitely recommend this place and definitely going back for the food. !!

Frequently voted one of San Antonio's best restaurants and after a few visits, it's easy to see why. The service and the food is exceptional with more than reasonable prices. Not cheap by any means, but about on par for most other restaurants in the area. It's quickly become one of my favorite spots on my lunch break. If going for the first time, start with the mussels, on your second visit, try one of the daily chef's selections suggested by your server. You won't be disappointed.

Tonight, we had what might be our last meal at La Frite for a long time. We've been coming here once every other month or so for the last 4 years and what an absolute treat it has been. We've tried just about everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed. The specials are fantastic, in particular the pork chop and the duck cassoulet, which are to die for. We get mussels every time to start, and all the broth choices are unique and delicious. Most of all, seeing how the owners interact with the guests is like watching a family gathering. It's a warm community atmosphere that can't be beat, and I'm so glad the restaurant survived its recent temporary closure. Thank you Miles and Icy for 4 wonderful years of cuisine, and thank you to all the staff who have made this vision happen. We hope to return someday!

I've dined at La Frite multiple times over the past many years and the food and service is always on point.

First visit based on recommendation of friend. Service by Alex was great. Ambiance very nice but acoustics of room made it difficult to converse with table mates. My muscle’s dish (Honma ??) recommended by Alex had superb flavor - generous portion really too much for one…frites really good but portion side a bit on small side. Desert (crème brûlée) excellent. After dinner coffee not good. Bread served ok, but would encourage La Frite to seek out more European, “crusty” style to complement the muscles dish theme. Prices fair. Don’t like the “credit card” surcharge…everyone pays by credit card. Owner checked in with us at the end - nice touch. Special shout out to Tim the manager who greeted us so nicely. I was on fence between 4 and 5 stars so erred up !

My boyfriend made a reservation at La Frite to celebrate Valentine's Day, and relive our trip to Belgium this past summer. La Frite was seriously wonderful! We started with a nice bottle of wine. And our server, Klarissa, was the sweetest ever! She recommended the duck breast, which was delicious. And we also got the Vol-au-vent (seafood version), mussels, and frites. All of it was so great. For dessert we had chocolate mousse, but I ate it so quickly I didn't get a photo! Thanks for a lovely dining experience. We had a great trip to SA!

It's impossible to put into words how incredible this unsuspecting dining spot truly is. It is humble in its unassuming location and flies under the radar until a server introduces you to the menu, the de jour specials etc. From the first bite to last sip you will be pleased with the near-perfect execution of dishes. The Pork Chop was immaculate, the swordfish was exemplary, and the desserts were perfectly balanced. We will be rushing back at our earliest convenience.

This little spot is worth a short walk from the River Walk. The lunch specials are tough to beat. Twenty bucks gets you an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The food was delicious and the staff were delightful. Highly recommend.

A really cute place! The food was authentic belgian faire, right down to the sauces. We had the steak au poivre and the lamb shank. Both were delicious. My husband is from Belgium and it was wonderful to see his face light up after the first bite. Definitely check this place out.

Really special place and so glad it's open again! The best place to enjoy mussels outside of Brussels. Affordable, great service, wonderful wine selection, and they have Hoegaarden on tap! It's one of my favorite places in San Antonio, and makes me feel as if I'm back in Europe.

If you want mussels in San Antonio there is NO PLACE TO GO other than La Frite Belgian Bistro on South Alamo in Southtown. This quiet little bistro has a wide selection of fresh mussels with various styles of preparation and flavoring. I highly recommend the Bavarian mussels with blue cheese. They are simply AMAZING! The service is prompt and attentive. They also serve a good cup of coffee.

The service was solicitous, and the food was delicious! My salad, salmon, and dessert were fresh and flavorful.

What a treat! Everything, from the dishes (trout and lemon chicken) to deserts (chocolate tart, chocolate mousse) to dark beer to coffee was finger-licking good.

I'm going to be brutally honest...I have only had bad mussels before coming to La Frite. So I wasn't too excited about our Friends ordering them for us for appetizers. Against every grain of my being, I didn't want to eat them, but when I ate my first one.....the cook made these to perfection and I couldn't stop eating them! The mussels were absolutely delicious and made a fan out of me. The crab crepe was amazing, the chocolate crepe was delectable, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was quaint. We will definitely dine here again in the near future.

I’ve been here twice and the food and service was excellent both times. The champagne recommended by the waiter was really good. I had the duck breast the first time and beef bourguignon the second time. The mussel dishes are good. My friend had fried lobster and it was yummy.

My husband found this fantastic bistro for a date yesterday. He got the beef bourgignon which was very tasty. The pasta seemed fresh made and very thin. It was perfect. The veggies were perfectly cooked to leave some snap/crunch. I got the most amazing duck breast. I had no idea duck was supposed to taste so good. It wasn't gamey like I've had in the past. They cook it medium rare, but Alex, the maitre 'D, suggested I get it between medium rare and medium, which made it absolutely perfect for me. The texture and tenderness was like a filet mignon. And the raspberry reduction was a nice sweet compliment to the duck. I forgot to take a picture of the muscles and fries appetizer. We shared the white wine with cream and garlic muscles. It was so good. My husband got the beet salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. We're not sure if it was goat cheese on the salad, but if it was, it was the creamiest goat cheese we've ever had and delightfully subtle. I'm not sure if the chef forgot to toss the salad with any dressing or dress the beets with a balsamic reduction, but it was definitely better when Alex brought us the fresh and tasty creamy vinaigrette and balsamic reduction to put on the salad. For dessert we shared the raspberry marscapone which was so light and creamy. Have never had marscapone before, but this was a perfect finish to our meal. I forgot to take a picture of the dessert before we dug into it, so you'll see a few bites out of it. 😄 I took a picture of their wreath, because my daughter wants a wreath and she loves wine. She thought it would be hilarious if we were to put that on her front door.

This place was great. We started with flight of Belgium Beers and it was a good selection. We chose the Steak and rabbit two ways(was the nights option). Both were hood choice. Steak had a perfect that provide an exceptional crunchy texture. The inside was nice and and tender. The rabbit my wife had had was delicious.

The escargot was good. The mussels were way better. Pesto flavored. Fries were good. Friendly staff. Clean restroom and restaurant. Very expensive. In a up and coming side of town with other interesting places to see. 10% to bill for sharing plates. 🙄 otherwise overall nice place and good food.

Great cozy little moules frites joint! I have had moules frites in France as well as in Philadelphia, and this San Antonio joint stands toe to toe with those places!

One of, if not, my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. I may be a bit biased because my wife and I visited some friends in Belgium a few years ago and fell in love with the bier and food. Every time we go here it reminds us of our trip. Whether you’ve been to Belgium or not, this place is excellent. The Mussels (Bavarian w/bleu cheese…Pesto…), frites, beer, and other food has always been top notch. We have had exceptional service at La Frite and I will never forget the time we came here for our anniversary a few years ago without a reservation. This place is small, cozy, warm and inviting. We walked in and the wait was pretty long and it was not looking like we were going to be able to enjoy our anniversary here. We mentioned it to the person taking our name. They could have told us, “I’m sorry, but make a reservation next time”, which would have been an understandable and expected response. Did they say that? No they pointed to a small area at the end of the bar/register area and said we could make a table for you here if you don’t mind sitting here. We happily accepted and had a wonderful anniversary. We now make a reservation any time we go!

Great place. Food was amazing as well as the service. Knowledge of the menu and good liquor pairing with food. Restaurant does remind you of Europe, great ambiance and good variety of food. Looking forward to tasting other dishes as there menu changes each season.

Absolutely amazing, exactly the experience I was hoping and looking for. Felt like I was back in Europe. Amazing food quality and great service. I had the lightly fried flounder with lemon butter sauce and it was phenomenal, truly. My wife had the croque monsieur and tasted just like we were in France again. Great job guys. We just recently moved to SA and this is BY FAR, HANDS DOWN, the BEST restaurant I've been to yet!!! We ordered the mussels w fries, new England clam chowder, rack of lamb, ham/cheese/mushroom crepe, chicken puff pastry and chocolate mousse. All were to die for!!! Customer service was excellent, they were so friendly and accommodating, even offered to make an off-the menu item for kiddoes. This will definitely be our go-to spot for bringing visiting fam and friends!!!! Meant to take more pics, but were too busy stuffing our face!!

Their hanger steak entree with frites was perfectly prepared, with great flavor. Herb garlic sauce was a decadent accompaniment. Although we were well and truly stuffed, there was no passing up creme brulee or a lemon tart. Our spirits soared to the heavens with each creamy carb laden bite. La Frite is one of my favorite restaurants in Southtown! The regular menu is great, but I love trying the specials they have. If it’s your first time, always go for the mussels, either as an appetizer or the main course.

I was very happy I stumbled upon the La Frite Belgian Bistro. After wondering the streets trying to find a place to eat I came across the sign for La Frite and I thought I'd give it a try. I mean WOW! I should have been here sooner. The service here was impeccable, the wine selection fantastic, and the food was amazing. Next time I visit San Antonio La Frite will be the first restaurant I visit. I can't wait to eat there again.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here tonight with my partner. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience - the food, service and atmosphere were all perfect. My partner got a seafood and cream stuffed puff pastry, and I got tenderloin steak au poivre. We also shared pomme frites, clam chowder, and out-of-this-world moules marinieres (mandatory to try). It was a truly special evening, and we can’t wait to come back!

Consistently good for sooo long now… Don’t change a thing! I guess the interiors could use a little upgrade to match the amazing food and service but I’d eat here if it was a food truck in a parking lot next to a busy highway… ❤️❤️❤️ Love this team and the great work they do!

Visited San Antonio for a conference. My attending is from France and was excited to try the place out. She stated “fires are from Belgium not from the French”. any who …Best fries ever !! We enjoyed ourselves !

There are very few places that with each dish consistently amazes me and has feeling a sense of awe. From the Brie and carmelized onions savory tart, to the caprese salad, escargot smothered in butter and topped with parmesan, to the Pork Ossobuco and bowl of mussels. All of it great from start to finish. There is only one place in the world that may do these dishes better and most may not find it. A solid 5 star review.

Definitely a must stop spot in San Antonio. We got the Hangar steak and Frites, Vol-au-Vent (chicken in puff pastry), and the Mussels Marineres. The Hangar steak and mussels were amazing, the chicken was just ok. I appreciated that it wasn't over seasoned, but it was definitely heavy on the cream and light on flavor. While visiting our adult daughter in San Antonio, I was hoping to find a nice French restaurant that was close by and reasonably priced. After reading many positive reviews on Yelp, we decided to try La Frite Belgian Bistro. We initially attempted to make a reservation for three through Yelp, but it wouldn’t allow us to book for our desired time. We were able to secure one reservation for two and another for one. Fortunately, after calling the restaurant just prior to opening, they kindly combined the reservations and accommodated the three of us without issue. When we arrived on a Saturday evening, we were pleased to find the main dining area small and quaint, creating an intimate and charming atmosphere. At first, we thought this was the only dining space, but they also have additional storefront dining areas on each side, providing ample seating. We arrived shortly after opening, and only a few tables were occupied. That quickly changed — by the time we left, every table in the restaurant was filled. We were warmly greeted at the door and seated at a front window table, which offered a great view outside. The gentleman who seated us also served as our waiter. I don’t recall his name, but he was exceptionally professional and attentive, providing outstanding service throughout the evening. We ordered a carafe of white wine, which our server recommended as a great value — and it truly was. For starters (using non-French names for simplicity), we ordered a large portion of mussels in a basil, garlic, butter, and white wine broth. The mussels (moules) are offered in seven different sauces, and after tasting ours, I wish we could have tried every one of them. They were plump and fresh, served over an abundant, flavorful broth that paired perfectly with the fresh bread — ideal for soaking up every last drop. Our second shared appetizer was escargot prepared Burgundy-style in a rich herb butter sauce. The escargot were tender, earthy, and generously coated in a garlic-forward herb butter that was absolutely delicious. Again, the fresh bread ensured none of that wonderful sauce went to waste. For entrées, we began with the Steak Au Poivre. We selected the tenderloin, which arrived perfectly cooked to medium rare. It was tender, well-seasoned, and accompanied by crisp fries and a fresh selection of cooked vegetables. Our second entrée was a crab and mushroom crepe. The delicate crepe was filled with fresh crab and mushrooms in a light white cream sauce that also draped over the top. The flavors were fresh, balanced, and beautifully seasoned. Although we were extremely full, it was impossible to pass on dessert. We ordered both the lemon tart and the chocolate tart. The lemon tart featured a crisp, flavorful crust with a firm, well-balanced lemon filling that delivered just the right amount of brightness. The chocolate tart shared the same crisp crust but was filled with a rich, decadent chocolate center with a smooth consistency that allowed the flavor to linger pleasantly on the palate. We will definitely return on our next visit. This truly is a wonderful gem in San Antonio.

I had one of the best meals here last night! The food was excellent. Crepes, mussels, frites - oh my! I loved every bite. The owner welcomed me warmly the second I came through the door and the service from that point forward continued to be great. My server was friendly and on top of things even though the place was hopping! The other staff I encountered were also fantastic. This is truly a great spot all around!

I love how cute and casual but still upscale this place feels. Servers are super friendly. The feed was perfect. Best fries I've had in a long time. I got the steak frites, and it comes with a side of vegetables along with the fries and steak. My husband got the crepe with lump crab and mushroom and said it was one of the best he's every had. The creme brulee was the only disappointment. The sugar on top was more burnt and left that terrible after flavor in your mouth, so I would skip that one. I still highly recommend!!! And we'll be coming back to try more things!

I got the Steak Frites on the lunch menu. Absolute perfection! Almost half the price of most Steak Frites, especially in the downtown area. Every person dining there seemed like a regular. Great atmosphere and great service. I will definitely be back to try the dinner menu.

We stumbled across this little gem in the Southtown area and decided to have dinner. It was fantastic! The service was great; the owner chatted with us - always nice when the owner is onsite. The food was top- notch! Halibut was the daily catch and it did not disappoint. Dessert was lovely, hubby had the chocolate mousse & I had the lemon tart - the crust was buttery & crunchy. Tim, the front-of-house manager, was knowledgeable & timed our food perfectly. Everything was gorgeous & delicious and we’ll definitely dine with them again next time we’re in San Antonio.

The food was amazing! Visited for the first time for Culinaria week and will definitely make another trip. The service was awesome, although I did feel a bit rushed, there was an employee that kind of hovered around the tables taking dishes away, even if you weren't done. The mussels were wonderful, and a bit of bread would have allowed some dipping of the sauce. The pear salad was delicious, followed by the lamb ragout and co qu van. Honestly I didn't want to stop earing the lamb it was so tasty! Then dessert, chocolate mousse, which was good, but honestly the creme brulee was better!

Late post on one of the participating restaurants for Restaurant Week! Take note of La Frite Belgian Bistro in January for the next round of Restaurant Week! It is one of the few participating restaurants where the dinner prix fixe menu is still $35. Many of the participating restaurants are at $45 or $55. Dad had the Lemonade, Hubby had the Cider, and I had the Halter Ranch Grenache Blanc. I chose the Restaurant Week menu which started with the Red Wine Poached Pear, the entree was the Red Snapper with jasmine rice and vegetables, and Chocolate Mousse. Hubby had the Salade de Fruit et Fromage and Confit de Canard (duck confit). Dad had the Crepe au Jambon et Fromage (crepe with ham and cheese). Everything was delicious! This place does fill up so make a reservation if you can. There is a private lot for parking but be early! Come check this place out!

The food here is amazing! Our favorite is the duck breast which is juicy and tender. The seafood pastry is delicious too! The escargot is unsalted I’m not sure if that’s on purpose since bread is savory…I’d love to come back!

I'm so happy we came across this Belgium bistro. We stopped by since the reviews were very high and we understand why. The food was delicious. I ordered a savory crepe while my wife had the mussels. Both dishes were flavorful and tasty. You also have to try the fries and dipping sauces. The service was one of the best we experienced on our trip. The waiters are knowledgeable and helpful. Our water glasses were always topped off and the staff even offered bread to soak up the amazing sauce. Overall, a great restaurant worth checking out!

Love love this little local gem! Went with my mother, sister and daughter. This was not our first visit as we’ve dined here before. We all had the salad verte-it was fresh and delicious. My sister and daughter both ordered the salmon. It was generous and well seasoned. My mom and I had the steak au poivre’. This is probably one of my favorite steaks! The food was great. The management welcoming. The service friendly and helpful. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner. I’d encourage you to make a reservation as it’s a smallish place and usually busy. Also-parking is very limited so give yourself time when heading down there.

I spent a lot of years traveling through Belgium. I enjoy the food in the French and German parts. We visited La Frite and stopped in for dinner. We made a reservation a few hours ahead of time. The restaurant does remind me of a place off of the square in Brussels. The interior had three sections. We felt like we were in Brussels. Very quaint and comfortable. The service was just the best. Everyone was attentive and asking us what we needed. We shared an appetizer of mussels and fries. Even the lady tried the mussels which surprised me. We had extra bread to dip into the cream wine sauce. The fries, were a bit floppy and dark. The mayo-herb sauce was really outstanding. We had a green salad and Caesars salad, both good. The lady had sliced duck which was cooked perfectly. The son had trout which had a nice soft crust. I was going to get coco vin, but for some reason, had the curry lamp shank. It was good but didn't seem to go with the rest of the Euro-vibe. We shared an apple pear tart - not to sweet and delicious. We had a great time and will be back the next time we visit San Antonio.

Received a recommendation to try La Frite Belgian Bistro, so came out on a Friday night after making a reservation. Very nice, intimate restaurant in Southtown. Only about 15-20 tables and it keeps the experience very personal. Was immediately greeted at the door and seated with my reservation. Waiter came to explain their menu, daily specials, Prix Fixe offering, and wine selection. With that, started off with a bottle of Grand Cru Riesling, escargot, arugula salad, watermelon salad, mussels, and some frites. I had to try a little bit of everything since it was highly recommended. They also recommended placing the main meal orders at the same time so they could pace all the food out. I appreciated that as you didn't feel rushed and was able to enjoy each course. Was able to enjoy all the appetizers over a glass of wine. Both salads were very light and refreshing. The mussels were probably my favorite. They were served in a mix of the Basque sauce and the Marinieres. It was a nice mix for the wine, shallots, garlic with a little heat of the pepper, chili, and paprika. The escargot was a close 2nd as it was served in a very flavorful butter sauce. All the appetizers were well-portioned and presented nicely. For the main meals, had the lobster, Prix Fixe (lamb, scalloped potatoes, mixed veggies), rabbit two-way (daily special). The timing of food was perfect as had plenty of time to enjoy the appetizers with some wine. All were plated in an appealing manner. I can't say which was my favorite as all were really good. I had the lamb since there's limited options for lamb in San Antonio. It was cooked perfectly by being juicy and flavorful without the gamey taste. The lobster was nice large and meaty portions that were lightly breaded. I didn't get to try the rabbit, but they said it was very good. It must've been good as they forgot to share around the table. For desserts, had the crème brulee, Belgian waffle, and floating island. All were good portions to share. The crème brulee had nice, hard caramelized top with a light, fluffy custard below. The Belgian waffle was my favorite as it had a nice balance of the dough topped with the sweetness of chocolate, sugar, cream, and strawberries. The floating island was a delicious meringue served on top of custard sauce. This place was highly recommended and glad I listened. From the setting, service, food, and desserts, it was a great experience and I highly recommend to the next person.

This place is still open in the south towns of San Antonio. Great Belgian cuisine! Duck, lobster and lamb cooked to perfection. The veggies were done very well aswell. The garden salad has a very earthy taste that I enjoyed but my wife was hopeful for more.

It's a quaint place, and the service was attentive. The food took a while to arrive, and they made a mistake on one of our mains. Instead of waiting for another, we canceled it. Thankfully, they did the right thing and removed it from the tab and comped us desserts. The puff pastry seafood dish was a little over-cooked, but the rest of the food was great.

This was our second time coming here. Things missed this time -we didn’t get the complimentary bread and butter, I think last time we had to ask too. -kids pasta had no flavoring and no cheese or sauce and was $9 each. We’ve been to many restaurants w kids pasta, never seen one without sauce and offered Parmesan cheese on top. I mean the I assume Belgians, like the French, love cheese on everything. This was a big miss. Adults had tenderloin, duck leg confit, pastry w seafood and pastry w chicken, a salad. These were flavorful and well done. Compliments to the chef who not only made tasteful food but presentation also excellent. Our waiter this time was not good. Quick tip when customers complain about food taking a long time to come to table, we are not looking to hear I did my job, I put your orders in or restaurant is full, all we want to hear is let me go check and see if I can expedite. Appreciate your patience. That’s all. Customer service 101. The girl who got us waters and utensils was good, I asked for a lemonade for the kids, our waiter said they didn’t have it but the girl asked and had it made for us. The lemonade was a bit watered down but we appreciated the effort very much!

A very nice Belgian bistro-style restaurant. I had the prix fixe 3-course dinner with Marinieres Moules, Curry Lamb Shank and a rasberry cream pie for dessert. The lamb was outstanding! The mussels were fresh and tasty, but a bit grittier than expected. I was disappointed by the short list of available Belgian ales. Service was prompt and very friendly. Even though my review is somewhat picky, I strongly recommend this excellent restaurant.

Amazing mussels! Highly recommend everyone to try them. The reverse cream brûlée was extraordinary as well! I wasn’t impressed by the taste of snails, but they worth trying just of the way they were served. One thing that was disappointing is no air conditioner, just fans. Although we were served right away, a couple that was seated earlier than us waited for their dish for 40 minutes, which was shocking. So I recommend ordering mussels if you want to be served right away.

Great food. Great service. Justin was awesome. Only complaint is, while it was a little entertaining, the manager yelling killed the vibe for our valentines date.

This place is very small and intimate. My only 1 complaints would be that it was very warm in there. I actually enjoyed the food. The appetizer I order was the shrimp fritters I think and the sauce it came with was delish! I tried the onion tart and I have to say I did not like it much because I'm not a big onion person, but I was offered to replace it with the watermelon salad and oh boy was that yummy in my tummy 😋. I had the Mahi Mahi fish w/ rice and veggies for my entree and wow the fish was very flavorful for sure. My friends also enjoyed their food and had no complaints which is a good thing because they are very picky eaters. One of my friends had the mussels and she said that their the best she has had in a while. Oh and a lady came over to check on us and had some good convo as well not sure if she was the owner or not but it was very welcoming. The only thing we didn't like was the dessert which was the chocolate mousse wish they had more options for dessert. We would definitely recommend this place to others and go back in the future 🙂

This is a very good restaurant, surprisingly busy on a Wednesday night when we visited. The various moules (mussel) dishes were authentic Belgian, and there was a good selection of other options to cater for other palettes. There's no explicit kids menu, but the staff were happy to adapt the menu options to be child friendly. To complete the picture, there's a very good wine list, with a distinctive French bias. As Europeans visiting the US, we deliberately chose a US wine, a moderately priced Sonoma zinfandel, which was excellent.

Saturday reservation. Arrived at 745. 45 minutes for the appetizers to arrive and another 45 for dinner to arrive. Our main courses did not arrive till after 9pm. It was so loud we could not hear anyone at our table.. The escargot were basically in boiling butter with minimal garlic and spices. The crabmeat crepe tasted like very thick starchy white sauce that been in a crock pot all day. The hangar steak and the lamb shank were good but with heavy sauces. The pom Frits were like limp thicker fries. We passed on dessert since it was already so late and the heaviness of the meal.

So-so. Really happy to find a place with pure Belgian and French meals with a reasonable price but the flavors are far below our expectations. The mussels were not well cook and the sauce (Mariniere) was quite without flavor. Frites were ok, the endives salad too (but it seems they use pecan nuts ... Not really from Belgium). The desserts are really sweet but ... we still like that. Globally just ok.

Waited over an hour. Ordered mussels. Cold, sent back, came back. Serves told me, "Well it's steaming," but was cold on top. All well... gave this place a 3rd try. Maybe another life... the water guy was amazing 👏

We had a party of 5, Friday night. I understand it could be a little busy. I think we waited almost for an hour. Checked with our waitress. There was a big party right before us. OK. Understandable. Interesting enough, few minutes later our food arrived, no much warmer than room temperature. Imagine the taste of fries and steaks.

I would hope that for Restaurant Week an establishment would work to put their best foot forward… this was not the case tonight. Our party ordered the salmon pâté and escargot to start. The pâté was under seasoned and resembled some sort of salmon flavored butter. Not a fan. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. Moules Provençal and Marinieres, the pork chop, snapper, pecan tarte, and crème brûlée. Moules (mussels) were flavored nicely but quite sandy. Felt like chewing on the beach. The pork chop was reminiscent of shoe soles. The snapper was dry in a way that I’ve not experienced fish before. Crème brûlée was served cold, and I’d rather have a piece of pecan pie from Bill Miller’s than the tarte I was served. TLDR: our meal tasted like it was prepared by someone who doesn’t like food. Skip this and go most anywhere else on the block.

The Steak was cooked to perfection, however it arrived at the table cold. I would have been better off ordering the cold cuts. There were five of us and all five plates of steak were cold. The waiter looked like he hadn't bathed in a week. If you must go to Frites be prepared for cold meat but don't hesitate to send it back. I would have done but it was a birthday celebration. Shame on Frites for even bringing it to the table.
