Walked here from the nearby Marriott for breakfast tacos on our last day. Well worth the walk!!! Order the chorizo and potato special breakfast taco. Fresh flour tortilla. Just a little pillowy with a soft chew. So good. The waitress made us feel welcomed. Highly recommended and will stop in for lunch, breakfast, dinner next time in San Antonio. BTW, the green sauce is slightly spicy... very delicious.

One of my favorite breakfasts is a good machacado plate, bits & chunks of dried beef (carne seca, beef jerky) mixed into scrambled eggs. I like mine "a la Mexicana" with some pico de gallo also mixed in. Some restaurants ask if you want it all la Mexicana, but a la Mexicana is Las Palapas standard rendition of this classic scrambled omelette. I specifically noted the traditional use of dried beef to highlight the fact that Las Palapas uses seared steak, which has a different texture and taste. There were 1 or 2 bites that were a little tough, about the same as with carne seca. With that in mind, I want to say IT IS DELICIOUS!!! The chew, texture, and taste are different, but it actually enhances the foodie experience. Variety truly is the spice of life, and this preparation hits every note for me. The refritos were delicious, perfectly seasoned, very flavorful, just loose enough to scoop with the tortilla, but sticky enough to hold the machacado in the taco! Also very good dipping the hash brown potatoes, too. And the papas ... The potatoes were a good size dice. Some places chunk them so large that it's hard to get one piece into your mouth. These were diced so that several pieces made a nice bite. I prefer this because each piece contributes more surface area to the whole bite that there is more seasoning and browning adding more flavor. And these were seasoned to command the spotlight on their own. Tortillas ... I got the corn tortillas. I know, flour tortillas are the preferred taco, especially in San Antonio, but corn was the original tortilla, and I love the good ones (the bad ones fall apart). These were delicious and held the refritos and machacado (& salsas) till the last bite. Also, I don't think they are very popular because it took a few minutes to make them, and they were served piping hot fresh off the griddle. The red and green salsas were both delicious. I slathered them on my food, but was never offered any chips. I didn't ask. I would have liked about 3 chips, but the only thing I would have used them for would have been to taste the salsas. Ultimately, my analysis is that both have great flavor if not particularly hot. Tea, half-&-half sweet, well done, served with a ¼ wedge of the lime. Now, a word about the service ... It wasn't great. But, I want to qualify that by saying the place was hopping, 3 wait staff covering the dining room, and it was packed at 11:15 am yesterday (Saturday). There were several tables open when I arrived, but they quickly filled up. I was dining alone & was glad that I chose one of their smallest tables. That said, there were a few minor glitches in my service. The waitress asked if I wanted flour or corn tortillas, & I specified corn. My plate was served without tortillas or salsa. Another waitress came out with a tortilla container and asked if I wanted flour or corn. When I said corn, she turned around and left. A few minutes later, my piping hot corn tortillas were delivered. It took another few minutes to get salsa. I'd have been happy with either the red or green. They brought both. I think they had to fill the tiny Solo cups for my order, and didn't look to see how other tables were served. At one point, waiting for the salsas, my waitress came out with a later seated tables food. But as soon as her tray was empty, she went back and grabbed salsa for me. Like I said, the place filled up after I arrived, & everyone was hustling. The only misstep was that the tortillas and salsa were not brought with the plate. But, she did look at me every time she walked past and asked if I needed anything, so I definitely was not being ignored. I gave 5 stars for everything else, but only 4 stars for service, but I still left a 33% tip - I wouldn't deduct tip for an honest error in the heat of battle. Overall, a very good dining experience which I shall be revisiting from time to time. Well done!

Visiting San Antonio and this was my first visit to this restaurant.Delicious food, the chips were the freshest I have ever had. Paco was my server, he was the best. VERY EFFICIENT. Will definitely go back. Extremely affordable.

At 7 AM this is exactly the bright & kind energy you want to start your day with! I don’t know who the woman is at their drive-through line but she is absolutely lovely!! Of course the food is incredible, and it’s a huge bonus when the staff is wonderful as well!

We can’t pass through San Antonio without finding good puffy tacos. Las Palapas makes consistently good food whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The staff here is friendly, my weird order was perfect, and the place is clean with good service. It gets busy here, but they move orders quickly so don’t be afraid of the line.

Lunch menu is affordable and taste great. I had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Yum! Service was fast and friendly.

Absolutely AMAZING food. Got the chicken enchiladas w/ sour cream and sliced avocado on the side, 5 out of 5! Please come when you get the chance.

Anytime I order from here I go through the drive-thru and the person taking my order and handing my order to me are always very pleasant. That makes coming here an easy decision. If it's one thing I cannot personally stand is dealing with someone who obviously doesn't like their job, so the positive attitude is experience here is very nice. One of the best Las Palapas Restaurant out here. Located a block from my office and within walking distance. It's always clean and the service is great. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Ms. Leslie is always nice and takes great care of folks, just a great person in general. In a regular here and for good reason. Also, it's a great value to join the Palapas Club, awesome specials, huge value, and great food. I came in for customer appreciation day for their tacos in celebration of Las Palapas being voted best breakfast taco 3 years straight.

We went through the drive thru and waited 15 minutes, the car in front of us must have been there longer because they drove off. We ordered 1 taco and nachos. The guy at the window was very nice and apologetic and that is really why we waited.

I went to this location initially prior to going to work to secure breakfast for my co-workers. I was advised that they did not have readily available the portions that I was requesting him to come back round about 9:30 AM. Upon my return unlimited time the items still needed to be Served up and had to wait an additional 10 to 15 minutes time. The food was certainly decent enough and Would continue to do business with them outside of the lack of availability and waiting time frame.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Flauta lunch special. I really liked the chips and salsa too! They were busy during lunch so the wait time was a little longer. Overall our waiter was good.

This place isn't bad for a fast food Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes and they served within 5 minutes . Overall, the food was good but the beans were lacking something. The serve chips and salsa at the table and you can taste that neither are made within house. The tortillas were really good though. The waitress, Liz was very attentive and provided excellent service. The establishment was fairly clean but a little outdated. The parking lot was a little tight during lunch time.

After dropping off our vehicle to get serviced at a nearby dealership, my husband and I walked over to eat at Las Palapas. We asked if they offered Military Discount and the guy said yes. When he brought our ticket to pay, my husband showed him his Military I.D. and we saw that the discount wasn't included. He said he'd be back. BUT the manager (or whoever he was), came back with the ticket with NO discount!! We felt as if we were being ignored, and we didn't mention it again. I'm sure they noticed in the tip.

It's my goto for breakfast anytime of day. The coffee is consistently good and the service usually the tops. Fast service and value.

While making my rounds of trying different Mexican restaurants in San Antonio I decided to stop here because I see these places everywhere. This is my first time. The menu was diverse and decent looking. The prices were very reasonable. I noticed the lunch menu comes with iced tea included in the price. The food was hit and miss here. I thought the puffy tacos like seasoning. The puffy taco show itself was just greasy and overwhelmed the rest of the taco. The picadillo inside had a little bit of flavor but was not powerful enough to overcome the greasy tacos. The chips and salsa were good. The cheese gelato was pretty good. It had a strong sense of chili powder mixed in it. The regular crispy taco was really good. I wish I ordered those instead of the puffy tacos. Overall, it was OK but not great. The price was good so I would come back and try it again and get something else next time. I see they serve breakfast all day. It's hard to mess up breakfast.

Try the stuffed avacado as a light meal!! I tasted and loved the Chicken al carbon stuffed avacado. I've also tried the veggie stuffed one and both are delicious. I had the chicken soup & it hit the spot even on a hit super day. I say it should be named chicken & rice soup because that's all it had in it, a great portion in the bowl size & I had leftovers for the next day. The restroom had lots of nats and there were some flying around my table, my cup was dirty when they served it to me. I had to clean my table and order myself, I think it has something to do with them being so busy on the drive thru side. The food was delicious though, if I come back I’ll probably just order to go. The fresh tortillas and salsa were a plus.

I went to this location on Tuesday 1/6 and again on Wednesday 1/7. Both days around 6:15 am on my way to work. Both days I had 3 potato & egg tacos. On both days the tortillas were rubbery and the eggs were cold like the had been pre-made and scooped our of a bin. The first day they had a large order ahead of me (so I have then the benefit of the doubt) but the second day I was literally the 2nd customer. I called on day 2 to complain. They offered a credit for another day (which was probably the best thing they could do in the moment). I declined because its not about getting credit. For me it's the principal... if I go to a restaurant & order and sit and wait for you to make it, then I expect my food to be hot 🔥. Not cold pre-made sitting in a container. I mean come on Las Palapas do you want cold old food? Or hot fresh food? I hope you do better for your future customers, but you lost this one.

We came for our lunch break (nad had close to 45 minutes) By the time we got our food, we only had 5 minutes to eat. The server kept saying the kitchen was backed up. When we went to pay there was a corporate trainer & a regional manager laughing & making jokes. Restaurant was grungy and gross.

Food was good. Service is just not always the best at this location. I’ve have manager slam a drive thru window once because he was frustrated and tonight was just another weird incident. First they had issues with the rewards system. Second I was told that if I ordered on the app I could have cilantro and onions on the side however since I ordered drive thru I had to have everything pre added to my taco. Then the guacamole sauce they add looked nothing like the amount they advertise on the app. It was barely even visible. False advertising at its finest. I thought they forgot to add it to be honest. At almost 5.00 a taco, you’d think that they’d at least be generous with what it comes with. Would have given 5 stars for food but gave 4 due to the sauce or lack there of. The meat in the taco was good, and I enjoyed the taco once i adjusted it to my liking.

I am a foreigner and I do not speak Spanish or English very well. I was treated with such desrespect that I didn’t deserve. Noey should be sat down and told how to be polite. All other To-Go people failed to be professional and look so young like fifth grader. Reconsider who you hired and make them fall in line. Such bad taste in food and culture. Attitude from Noey made me lose appetite and faith in this restaurant. Won’t be coming back.

Came in with my pregnant wife and were told to seat ourselves. Waited and waited and waited. I saw workers staring at us and quickly cleaning tables. The restaurant was empty. No service or food for us. We promptly left. Avoid this location unless you enjoy waiting long or parking difficultly.

I had a truly disappointing experience at this establishment. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that there was an overwhelming lack of space, making it uncomfortable to even find a place to sit. To add to my dissatisfaction, the tea I ordered was unpalatably sour, far from the refreshing beverage I had anticipated. The customer service was equally poor; I felt ignored and unvalued throughout my visit. Overall, it was a dreadful experience, and I have no intention of returning.

I have been getting the best fast Mexican food at this location since the 90s ( yes, for you young people, 1990s). Unfortunatly the last 2 weeks I have been very disappointed. Not sure if managchanged or is just failing. The first problem was a very poor server who brought my party's food 1 plate at a time 5 minute part. So by the time she brought my wife's food mine was ice cold. Not willing to give up on them we tried again later in the week. This time, we set done and watched 2 other couples come in and get served and not once did anybody bother to come over to us. Very poor service lately, bad store management.

Rice in chicken tortilla soup was hard. Waitress only brought our party of 3 chips and salsa once during our entire stay. Didn’t refill our drinks. Had to wait forever to close out. First I do want to say im glad this location is open 24/7 which is very rare these days Upon walking in it was crowded (which I would think is a good thing) I sat down next to a table of 4 who had ordered a lot of food and were getting drinks refilled every few minutes.I ordered drinks tea and soda it was over 20 minutes for the soda to come and my tea never came when after asking at least 3 times I was hungry so I ordered tortilla soup to eat before my meal it never came until the food came and thats when I finally also got my tea too... ordered a small queso couldn't even dip the chip in without it breaking due to the queso being cold or just not even hot. The food was the chicken fajita special it was not fajita it was the meat they put in tortilla soup the dark thigh meat chopped into chunks. I'm so very disappointed with the quality of food the service and just over all experience.

I rarely eat out and I decided to go by and order some nachos for dinner. First thing that was wrong I used the restroom and there was no hand soap. Then I asked an employee for hand soap. Started thing great that means the female employees don't wash their hands! I get my chips and salsa there was a hair in it. This order is so off that I’m afraid of eating your food as the staff is so unqualified there is no way this food is also sanitary.

Worst customer service yet. This is one of the places we frequent. No more, the waitress wouldn’t even stop to help us and when we had to make her stop too help us we never got what we asked for. Then I guess “the manager had an attitude when we said we were not happy. She’s by herself. I understand and we were very patient but how long does it take to make avacado slices which didn’t come on the meal like it was supposed to. The tacos were advertised as topped with avacodo salsa, onions cilantro. Hmmm it came with no salsa maybe 4 little onion dices. Both of our meals came incorrectly. We ended up leaving after waiting so long and finishing our meals as is. Not great today. Managers attitude made us decide not going back for a while.

The last 2 times I’ve gone to this location, the service has been horrible. The first time I went with my 3 kids and just myself. The waitstaff did not come to attend us. We sat there and watched as the waitress went to another table who had come in after us, took their order and brought them their drinks and still ignored us, so I got us up and left. The second time, we went in and all the tables were dirty and we cleaned our table ourselves. Even then no one came to wait on us so after 15 mins we got up and left again. It used to be so good here but after the last 2 times we will not be going back there.

Was wondering if they changed cook they had to food is gross if it's not salty it's no taste it used be wonderful food tea everything u when Nabor was manager the place was awesome the food was really good you need to get rid of the new people there.Change cook!!!!!!

OK I usually go to the one 410 Evers and I am sorry that I did not today. I ordered one of their LP Super bowls with beef fajita and boy what a disappointment. It was a watery mess. You'd think they would be the same no matter which one you go to but I guess not! Never again!

I live nearby and have been to this location several times. Normally I’ll have my meal there. But this past Thursday on my way home from work, I decided to go through the drive thru and pick up a carne guisada taco. I ordered such with avocado slices. When I arrived home, I pulled the taco out of the bag, it was so light it hardly weighed anything. When I opened the taco, it came in a small tortilla. (Not the size of the tortillas served in the restaurant) The taco had 4 small chunks of meat, one of which was mostly fat. There was some red gravy to hide the fact that there was hardly any stuffing, and a paper thin slice of avocado for the mini taco. I paid $5.39 for this, which if it had been filled properly, would not have bothered me one bit. I know times are tough, but we’re all in this together. I intended for the taco to be my dinner, and instead was left with hunger and looking for something else to fill my stomach. The time before I had been sent home from work because I had a cough. This time I ordered a chicken caldo by phone and picked it up on my way home. Upon getting home, I went to retrieve my soup from the bag, only to find breakfast tacos in the bag. I had to return the following day for the caldo . This is unacceptable.

The fourth time they mess up the young man at the window is clueless and the manager is disgustingly rude mocking me way they must up on my order

This was the worst experience I've ever had at this location. Sat in I drive thru for 45 min. Waited at the drive thru speaker for 20 waiting on someone to take order, ended up driving up to window where girl was extremely rude said it was shift change. She took our order and money. Once she gave up our food proceeded to tell us next time we need to wait for someone to come over the speaker to take our order!!! How are we supposed to know they are changing shifts if no one answers the speaker for 20 min??!!@ Then they proceed to give us food that was lacking beans. It was a simple order

45 cent tacos .....what a joke! I wont fall for that one again. There was maybe a one bite of beans. I would have rather paid for a real taco. But then again if you buy a taco box they do the same!

Went with my family couple of days ago. I always look around to see what the atmosphere is and see if anybody’s getting their order and see more or less The service is gonna be and how quickly you were gonna get our food. Upon walking in just about every table was occupied and the ones that weren’t maybe about four or five of them were still on service with dirty dishes that the customer said that behind. I went to the car to get my phone and when I came back, I started noticing that just about everybody was just sitting down with her drinks there’s about six tables that were just sitting down with a drink so I said to myself and my wife people probably been sitting here for a while but we ended up leaving. Mind you the table that we did choose still have trash under it. It was dirty. It was crowded and it felt humid in there. We ended up going to the La Palapas in Castle Hills on Vance Jackson and 410. Oh my goodness the difference was night and day.. The Castle Hills location was very clean very late. The AC was on and we had good service.. And that’s because the one on Callahan and i10 about one light away… But we’ll drive the extra miles to get good service and put atmosphere… Also, the one on Callahan had his restroom doors locked.. A very big inconvenience sorry the one on Callahan gets a F for service atmosphere Service and the cleanliness or lack of it I forgot about your fry fry

This is the third time this has happened to me. Twice with beef enchiladas and now a soft beef taco. Nothing but potatoes. This owner is a cheapskate if they can't afford ground beef. If I wanted a potato taco, that's what I would have ordered. Disappointing. If you want a good Palapas, go to Blanco location near Churchill.

Pay with cash, never card. Bill was 48.00 even, but my card got charged 57, and some change. When i asked drive thru cashier why that was her response was " oh sometimes that happens we've had multiple people say that,ill get the manager " okay so i waited patiently 15 minutes and still no sign. So i parked got off asked to speak to manger. I had 3 different cashiers trying to tell me differently, that my card was only charged the 48. I had to ask for the manager 4 times, and she finally decided to come and said my card wasn't charged anything but was on ticket. " call your bank" . Long story short girl tried to tip herself when using my card

To start off the service was horrible 😭 the waiter was definitely on something and I believe he's the manager definitely needs some more training Another the food I ordered was definitely not what I expected besides the food being cold it appeared the cheese to the food was spoiled I requested it replaced and they simply reheated the plate. For some reason it felt like the manager had a grudge against me when I've never met the man that's how angry he appeared The staff most of the time are sitting near the back of the entrance and just laughing and bsn atp cause no one can ever get there order right. Besides seeing the guy at the drive thru eating his boogers idk what else to expect from this place.. I asked to speak to someone higher up and he said we're refusing service I left my money on the table including two fullsize plates! For future reference just get some taco Palenque

I got quesadilla, that wasn’t really a quesadilla, like where’s the cheese ?? And did I mention they gave me bigol pieces of meat very disappointed

My food was cold, it was reheated and now the egg is chewy and the pancake is hard as a rock!!! Is it under new management the food preparation has really gone down!!

If there is a skinny guy with curly hair taking your order, get ready for shitty food. Got home and my grandparents had to eat some soggy cold food...I live down the street. This location has gone to shit

I got sick from here sadly from the enchiladas. I also found hair on top of the 2nd enchilada. Threw everything out. This location has to be the worst one for food. The workers were fine but there was a wait too. There's usually always a wait when I pass since I work nearby. The lemonade is also really really bad. If you're expecting sweet fresh lemonade, you will not find it here. I would rather support another local spot.

Anxiously waited in the drive thru line this morning so I could bring a taco box to the ladies I'm working early elections with. Waited a good 10ms while cars were pulling up to the menu board. When I finally reached the menu for my turn, I sat and waited to be greeted. No one ever came. I finally said "hello", after a couple of minutes, a lady's voice tells me "We're waiting for the manager to get here to turn on the computers". No, "sorry for your wait" nothing. I was late for work, but luckily Taco Cabana was able to deliver tacos to us to help make up for my lateness. Very disappointed 😞

The woman at the window sounded very rude stating "sorry the flour machine is broken we don't have sopapillas" in a very high pitch voice like saying I don't care. They need to train this ignorant woman on how to talk to customers and lower her voice so she sounds respectful and friendly then she doesn't run off customers. I don't know how can they work with a broken flour tortilla machine that are not even responsible enough to fix. It is sad that now days SOME people don't take pride in their job they want to get paid but they don't want to work or treat customers right.

It was hard to enjoy the flauta family meal with no queso. We were just trying to skip the meal prep for Galentines with the girls and this experience was horrible. The guy took my order over the phone and had me repeat several times as he was talking to other employees in the back. Then he hung up on me when I said sir. I called back and he answered and I finished. The food tasted okay, but it was really hard to enjoy without the oozing queso on the flautas, that makes the whole meal for me. Then when I called after driving after opening our order, the manager (as I asked for him) put me on hold and then came back and said, “they said they put it in.” Like why would I make up a story just to waste my time. After a long conversation, he said he would credit my account on the card used for the queso price but NEVER did. This definitely put a horrible taste on my mouth for not just this location but the entire corporation as this was a manager who treated the customer like a liar when in fact the establishment is just that. Nope, never again. Don’t go here unless you want to eat okay food and you are dining in because they don’t take care of you. Service matters to me more than food and it was not provided on February 13th.

I ordered online directly from the website. I was charged for the food I ordered, but when I arrived I was rudely told their system was down and that there was a paper on the door stating this. I could not read the paper on the door from my desk at work, which is where I ordered from. No one asked if I wanted to let them know what my order was so they could make it for me. If the system is down, then they should contact their own website so they can turn off online ordering.

After waiting at the drive thru for 2 minutes, I had to start saying hello just to let someone know I was there waiting. I ordered two tacos and a half and half sweet tea. I finally get to the window and they informed me of no tea, so I ordered a water. They than told me to pull up and wait for my order after I've been there for at least eight minutes. They serve the car behind me first, and than give me my tacos. I was there for at least 12 minutes and finally got my cold, wrongly made tacos. I ordered one bean and cheese and one of the tacos that have chorizo/egg/bean/bacon for $3.99. Unless you want to be late work in the morning and feel like your business is unappreciated, I recommend you stay away.

I ordered an East LA taco and get something totally different. Picadillo, rice with everything else that should be in an East LA. Not what I wanted. Very disappointed once again.

I didn’t know the service could get worse… I thought wrong. Not sure what they thought they were doing by remodeling, but they made it worse. My order is never right, there’s never salsa, and they always forget something. The food is inconsistent, and the staff doesn’t seem to care about getting it right. Our company is just down the street, but we just can’t stomach the rip-off this place has become. We've been going for years and recently this location has been a disappointing experience. Save yourself the frustration and go to a different location.

Food was horrible as you can see in pictures portions were small and not to mention I never got my tortillas with my plate, my person got a platter and they didn't have everything that came with platter and instead of coming and informing us and give us like another option like any good server would do they just brought her plate minus her food, not to mention she didn't bring the food we requested in sub for what was missing until we were about to leave. Our server stopped coming around and we had to literally get refill when we were about to pay at register. All in all food was horrible, service was horrible and was not satisfied at all considering the location you'd think this palapas would be on top of things but guess I was wrong. On this night I do not recommend maybe another time palapas.
