Great tasting food! Beef was peppery and seasoned well and the onions were crisp and smokey. Yum! The food size though is not enough for sharing.
Stopped for lunch with a colleague, both of us love Chinese food and we figured it deserved a shot even if it only had 4.3 stars. SO. DARN. GOOD. The dumplings were crispy and hot and the Dan Dan Noodles were some of the best I've had. And the amount of food for the price is GREAT. I got a tea, appetizer, and a main and paid about $25. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Will be back with my husband and daughter!
When I arrived the workers greeted with me with so much enthusiasm and positive energy. They were quick to take my order and bring the food out with everything specification correct based on what I had asked for. Great food. Great energy. Highly recommend for people in search of authentic chinese food in San Antonio.
Delicious!!! Facing the HEB Plus! this place is a few suites to the left. The Mongolian Beef was actually grilled and spicy, my new fav! Rolls were different but crispy; General Tao’s was white and dark chicken with a great crisp and sauce. All of it was very yummy! The cooks are actually Chinese, I love that! I can’t believe this place is on the Southside and survived the pandemic. I can’t wait to come back here :p (2023) 9/2024 Update Ordered through DD. Still so yummy! Had the Mongolian beef, General Tsos, spring rolls and crispy garlic wings. I love all the flavors of chili and garlic. Not like typical American Chinese
Over the past 4 months, this Business has been consistent in their quality, cleanliness, & service. Have tried many different dishes, & was never let down. Food was Fresh, feels like I’m eating in someone’s Home with how tasteful their dishes are, & how wholesome the staff is. Always a pleasure to drop by during Lunch, & am able to make it back to work with time to spare. Thank you!!
Clean restaurant, quick service, little wait time for food to be served. We ordered the pork noodles, curry chicken and the brisket noodles...all were delicious. The waitress kepted up with our water and frequently asked if everything was ok or if anything else was needed. I highly recommend and will be back soon.

We were in the southside of town earlier this past Saturday. We headed to @shifunoodle for lunch. Hubby had heard about this restaurant through Texas Eats. It’s located between a Boba Tea place and SAPD office. Though they’re known for their noodle dishes, they have other Chinese dishes. ‘We shared the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup with the marinated egg, Mapo Tofu, Sweet and Sour Fish, and Garlic Wings. The noodle and soup was good but the beef was a little dry. Dad loved the Mapo Tofu and the Sweet and Sour Fish. I loved the fish too. We both like anything with lots of sauces. The wings seemed missing the brine and was on the dry side too. The overall experience is good and I would recommend stopping by.
Good selection and variety of menu. I love eggplants, and this place has 4-5 different eggplant dishes. I ordered 3 dishes because the portions are really small. I liked all of them but I wouldn't say these are 5 star authentic Chinese dishes. Low-key lacked flavor for my taste but still good Chinese spot to try various Chinese dishes.
First time coming to shifu noodles and I can say my experience was amazing the employees greeted us coming in and made us feel welcome as they didn't rush us on figuring out what to eat. We ended up ordering a bit of everything since we went in hungry. The dumplings had a crispy crunchy exterior that was filled with a flavorful hot stuffing, the fried rice was decent but I do wish the tables had siracha or soy sauce to amp up flavor in the fried rice. My brother had the spicy savory chicken that they toned the spice down for him but was delicious non the lease it had a crunch fried exterior with soft chicken inside, now the one that made me choose this place the beef noodle soup was delicious the bok choy was crunchy and fresh the noodles perfectly cooked and enough brisket slices in there to keep you full. I would definitely go back to try more from the menu.
The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, the staff were super friendly and fast. The drinks and food came out quick. The brisket soup was amazing. The spicy, crunchy chicken was good but the classic orange chicken tasted old like it wasn’t recently fried just warmed up and it was really tough and hard to chew. They sell trinkets which are really cute as well at the register. I would go back but I wouldn’t order the orange chicken ever again.
Loved Shifu Noodle ever since it opened. However, the quality has changed over the last 5 months - Very disappointed in the chicken fried rice I ordered today. For $11.50 one would think you'd get more than just: Rice. and. Chicken. One or two 1/4" flecks of cooked onion. That was it. This isn't a Panda Drive thru; I expected at least a bit of cabbage and/or bean sprouts stirred in. It's obvious it's not the owner cooking this; must be the chef on the owner's days off. The Szechuan soul is out on Mondays.
Disappointing noodle bowl. They served me fast but that was a mistake. The noodles had not yet thawed by the time I received them. The meat looked and tasted manufactured as well, think..snap on woodplank flooring. The server was top tier A+++, she was made of real meat 🥩🍑🥩. The pricing should have been at least 2 dollars less for the quality. You would save yourself money and fuel and time if you just but the noodle bowls from HEB. It essentially felt the same with some thrown in veggies and spices. The food didn't feel fresh.
Wife and I decided to stop in on our way to a concert... The place looks Amazing, super inviting, the music is peaceful/relaxing, the Server smiled but still felt like she didn't want to be bothered. There was another server slouched over the counter. The food as pictured... The menu shows the Mongolian beef in their menu with water chestnuts and instead I got more like a plate full of onions, lightly fried or sauteed, extra crisp with a side of chewy beef. The meat was stuck in our teeth like crazy. The flavor was good but neither the rice nor the meat (both the Kung Pao and the Mongolian) had salt. Also, since when does a place tell you how much it's all going to be before you even get your food? We were brought water to the table plus the menu and then the server walked away. The food was cooked so fast, I have a feeling it was warmed up not cooked fresh. We were there for maybe 30 minutes and nobody stopped in. This was around 5pm on a Wednesday.
It was our first time ordering from here, I ordered over the phone for pick up , Place looked clean & there was only 1 customer in there when I picked up my order. I ordered the General Tso chicken, Orange chicken , Spicy Wonton soup, Hot & Sour soup & the combo rice . Everything was FLAVORLESS just BLAND and VERY OILY .Paid about $55 for everything.
We were in the area and decided to stop by. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The food was good. My husband had a beef soup plate and I had a tofu plate. I asked the waitress if I can add broccoli to my plate and they said no. I really don’t understand why you can’t add to your plate. I’m going to pay for the extra item. That was very disappointing because I wanted veggies with my tofu not just tofu. I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
the two waitresses on duty seemed more interested with their cell phones than any customer. if the owner had any business since, he or she would reassess the importance of having more than one employee attending to the customers. one motivated individual can handle that small shop. the owner is literally paying twice the amount of payroll for the job duties one person could fulfill. my order came out quick, and hot. not overly spiced. pretty good overall. I do thank the chef. I might eat here again, but I definitely would like to be there when those two girls are not on shift. their countless people that would run circles around them, if given the opportunity to have an inside job.
We had high hopes about this restaurant according todifferentppl that have eaten here.. where do I begin. .. the waitress.... she was so dry and honestly, just there... Her customer service was barely noticeable. We ordered hot and sour soup. General Tso and Orange Chicken. Within 5 minutes, we had our whole order on the table. You would think that would be a good thing. WRONG!!!! The Orange Chicken was nasty. It tasted like Orange juice from HEB. SUPER BLAND...NO FLAVOR....NO SEASONING.... Overall, it was distasteful!!! They serve us days old chicken... I don't know if it was chicken or pork.... To me, that shows that you don't care, and it's all about the money!!! The food wasn't even hot. We were extremely disappointed with our experience. I highly recommend that yall NOT eat here!! Lung Fung off of South W.W.White Rd is way better!!! It's Hood... but it's Good!!!
