Smoke Texas Downtown

If you like BBQ, this is the place. I had the BBQ plate with brisket and ribs and a side of mac and cheese and potato salad. The meats had a great crust to them and were tender and moist. Even the sides were good, which is rare, I've found. The BBQ sauce is a sweet hickory flavor and matched the meats perfectly.

I utilized Smoke Skybar as a venue for my husband’s surprise birthday party. From the moment I reached out, Adriene/owner manager was incredibly welcoming and attentive. He listened carefully and made me feel valued as a customer. His staff were friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring. The Ember Room was a perfect environment to host a private event and the food was delicious. Also, there was a spectacular view on the rooftop. It was an entire team effort to ensure I receive nothing short of excellent service. If you are looking for a place to host an event, look no further. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere for the Lopes/Stevenson fight. The brisket was delicious! It was the best I have tasted in a while. My side order of potato salad was very tasty as well. The staff was friendly and quick at getting me my order. Although I'm a non drinker, not having a non alcoholic beer was not a deal breaker. Thank you Smoke Skybar and staff for your excellent customer service!

We stopped by after a competition there at the Alamodome. This place was right next to our hotel and we wanted to see the game. Walked in the place was very nice. Ordered some drinks which the service was very prompt. We ended up ordering the sampler right before the kitchen closed. Those were the best ribs and sliders I've had in a very long time! We were very surprised at how good they were. Would 100% recommend this place. Meat was very tender with tons of flavor.

This place has the “whole vibe” potential which I didn’t get to experience on a Sunday early afternoon. Nonetheless, I can see it. I ordered the 2-meat combo plate — it’s a lot of food for an amazing price!! The brisket was nothing short of magnificently delicious!!! I was nervous trying the potato salad but was scraping the bowl before I knew it! The chicken quarter had a nice smoky flavor. The only item I didn’t care for on my plate were the green beans. I had to talk food first but the service was interesting. I placed my food order at the bar at one register and had to walk around the bar to a different register to place my alcohol order. I was given a buzzer after placing my food order which I had to go pick up at the food pick up area. It was odd because I chose to sit at a table by the pick up area so I could be close to it. The sever paged me, walked to my table without the food and told me that I could go grab my food that was sitting at the pickup area — I was all kinds of complex because I was one of 5 customers in the building at the time. Maybe there’s something I don’t know….. The bartender, Zack, was amazing and gave me the level of service I expected from the server…but again perhaps I’m missing something on how it works here… Based on the delicious food & the exceptional bartender, I will likely return

Smoke Skybar is a fun place to eat. It has a bar on 2 separate floors and dining on the first floor although you can take your food upstairs. The seating upstairs overlooks the city. It has huge screen tvs. The food was excellent, very tasty. I had the brisket stuffed potato and my daughter had the chicken sandwich. The drinks were really good! Our waitress on the first floor was excellent! She was friendly, informative, and very prompt! She really took care of us. We will be back!

food is AMAZING here! the service is REALLY bad! we walked in and nobody greeted us. we sat ourselves and we asked for drinks and the person who took our order said she did not know where the bartender was. we finished our food and the bartender still wasn’t around. we asked for a box and no box ever came either.

Good clean space available seating . Food was not much portion for lunch specials.brisket tacos.

Hot in the Ember Room, not enough seating for our party. $10-11 mixed drinks not too expensive but all I tasted was fruity, tangy, sugar, even on the Lemon Drops, no alcohol, just sour. 2 drinks and a shot and not a hint of a buzz lol. The food was OK.

Great atmosphere to catch some games, especially if your a Philadelphia Eagles fan. It's outside of the downtown SA area and had it's own parking area right out front so I found it pretty shitty that they charged $10 for parking right outside. Food was pretty decent, but when they say SMOKE, they mean it. The barbecue was heavily smoky, way too much for mine or anyone else in my parties liking. There was no table service or servers. You had to go up to the bar to get food and drinks and then go to a separate area to go pick up your food. The food ordering was separate from the drink ordering so you have to open up 2 different checks. I wouldn't come back again unless it was just to be in a Philadelphia Eagles hangout.

Best thing that was ordered was the beans. The brisket was dry and from the photo you can tell it definitely was reheated some sort of way as well at the turkey, that had the consistency of jerky. the brisket tacos were a bit on the greasy side. The upside was the salsa that helped give it more flavor. The corn was watery but was ok from what my wife said. I was surprised for a place that was empty I had to hunt someone down to get a refill on our drinks. I guess playing on your phone is more important than customer service.

Bar service was fine, very few beets on tap but lots of cocktails and canned beers. Brisket mac was served cold and wasnt very good

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE ITS A TOTAL SCAM. The patio they advertise has the CHEAPEST and most UNCOMFORTABLE seating I’ve experienced on a patio before. The screens are very low quality. The color is going out, very pixilated. The bbq is so gross. Reheated in a microwave with store bought bbq sauce that doesn’t taste like Texas at all. The employees all look like they hate their job. They mix horrible cocktails, and very little beer options for such a big place. Neither of which are worth it there even at their “special pricing.” These people have opened and closed SO MANY RESTAURANTS. They ruined a patio at the river walked. Now closed. They opened a place on redland. Now closed. They opened a place in corpus. Now closed. It’s a years long trend of abismal management and awful treatment of paying customers. There are numerous sports bars around smoke that BLOW THIS PLACE OUT OF THE WATER. Closer to the Alamodome, way better atmosphere. And people who actually want you to come into their space. It’s so obvious by everything smoke has done. That they are only interested in profits and sucking money out of the locals. Avoid this place like the plague.
