The service is sometimes mediocre however, it all depends on the vibe in the group of people that you come here with. Most of the time when I have gone it has been because of karaoke night. But every time we have ever been here, it has been a blast.
Burgers are really good. beer is cold with many choices. Service is always friendly. Whats not to like
Grabbing a late lunch as I head back to Lackland. Tried the '09 Burger, it was hot, juicy and came with an egg, jalapeños and ghost pepper cheese. Yum!!! So good!!
Lilly and Chad are the best duo for a Tuesday night! Both are very attentive and friendly I’ve enjoyed every experience I’ve had at this establishment. Food and atmosphere is a 10/10!!
Had the pleasure of Happy Hour, my favorite time of any day, and enjoy free pool all day on Monday. 2 beers, 2 cherry vodka sours, fried mushrooms, and tenders, at happy hour prices, and it did not break the bank at all. Love the atmosphere and food, and the prices. Will be back again, already been here 4 times!
I stumbled upon this place while searching for a Green Bay Packers Bar for a co-worker. As a Dallas Cowboys fan I should probably remove a few stars in the review but I guess I'll keep them. This is also an Arsenal bar for those futbol fans. The bar was pretty full from 7:00 to 11:00pm. The wait staff and bar tenders were very polite and helpful throughout the night. It has a pool table, shuffle board table, foosball table, and a few arcade games for patrons to partake in. At 9pm on Saturday night karaoke began and everyone in our group and the others that sang had a blast. The food was delicious. I had the '09er burger which had bacon, egg, cheese, ghost pepper, and jalapeno on it and my wife had the Philly cheese steak which had caramelized onions, green and red peppers, and the house queso on it. We also had fried pickles. Our friends had another burger, totchos, and they raved about the chicken wings. We all had a blast and would definitely return in the future.
Not your typical bar food. Everything I had was homemade, super-flavorful, fresh, and delicious. Per the waitress's recommendation, I got the chicken fried steak. It was tender, well-seasoned, perfectly battered, and topped with hearty gravy. My waitress was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I can't wait to go back and try a burger.
Food was delicious. Tenders had a great crunch, burger was huge and cooked just right. Really enjoyed the seasoning on the fries. Will go back for sure
We came here by recommendation for the food. The food was absolutely the best part of our visit. The burger was perfectly cooked, great flavors and the tots were crispy. My dining companion had the philly which was also a home run. The onion rings seemed to be hand battered with great flavor. The venue really does have a cool vibe. They have plenty of different types of seating depending upon your groups needs. What wasn't as impressive? Our table had to be wiped down again because I moved the condiments caddy and it was pretty gross underneath. The noise level was strong for it being prior to 8 p.m. which is just simply preference, not a deal breaker. And service was lacking - ordered a drink that they didn't have ingredients for. Server was slow to make the replacement order. Our food sat awhile before it was delivered to our table. We waited a long while before our check was acknowledged as being needed because our server ran to the store? The place wasn't busy.......I can't imagine how it would have been if it was hoppin'.
This place was cool, 80's & 90's nostalgic vibe, great music, typical bar drinks but at decent prices. My wife and I had their tatchos which we were skeptical of at first but man they were every bit of everything we didn't know we needed! Service was a bit slow but I only saw one waitress so she was trying. Overall, solid place to have a drink and a snack.
Was a neat place to visit. Gives off more of the dive atmosphere/ sports bar and not too fancy. Full bar with around 14 or so beers on tap. Food was really good. Fried pickles were crispy and not soggy. Burger was large and tasted great. Chicken tenders were lightly breaded so not overboard with plenty of meat. Onion rings had great flavor and crispy. Service was quick and we were well taken care of.
My husband and I stumbled upon this area while we were running errands. My husband is a big burger fan (like legit has a tattoo of one) and liked the royale burger. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken tenders. They were not tenders but patties (huge!). They were delicious and nicely coated. They weren’t spicy though but delicious flavor. Our server Amanda was very kind and checked up on his frequently. We’d definitely come back.
We went on a night when they were short staffed. The server did his best but you could tell he was flustered. I can't really give a great or a poor review on service. Poor dude tried his best. I ordered chips and queso as an appetizer, the queso was good. My daughter ordered nachos, they were ok. I had the BLT and it was crispy and delicious. The fries were gross. Greasy and over fried.
We had a very disappointing meal here. We expected to have a nice brunch, but the food and the service were really lacking. This place has really gone downhill. I definitely will not come back here. We tried the pimento cheese dip, and the chips were totally stale and greasy. I’ve attached a picture of the carrots that they had the audacity to serve us. Enough said. Naturally, we asked for them just to remove this from our bill and they obliged. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but if you’re going to serve mimosas, you should do it correctly, they just brought us glasses of champagne and then a little glass of orange juice, which is most assuredly going to spill right in front of you as soon as you try to pour it into the champagne glass - again, just not paying attention to the details. The service was underwhelming. One of those places where you basically have to ask for everything. After visiting this place, I just don’t know why anyone even bothers to go here anymore, there’s nothing remarkable about it, the menu is boring. The food is lame. The drinks are nothing to write home about the bar is totally average. I just would never come in here and spend my money again. My guess is that the owners have just given up, maybe they are making enough to stay in business- maybe the mortgage has already paid off, who knows, but it’s obvious that nobody cares about this place. With a great location there in Alamo Heights, you would think that they would be trying to capitalize on this. Just don’t waste your money. There’s so many good places to go spend your money in this economy.
Bartender seemed to enjoy serving everyone else already present but was very short with us. She had clearly already made up her mind about who we were as patrons before we even had the chance to speak to her let alone order. Bar was not busy, we were the one of the only two tables in the entire building and still had to wait 6 minutes to get service bellying up to the bar and at the end of the day paid full price for what should have been happy hour drinks. According to 5050, booze in bottles from a factory in New York are not considered “domestic bottles” and are therefore not included in happy hour. We were made aware of this after the fact…only when we asked, in the same aloof attitude that we were treated with the entire time.
We've eaten here before and the service and food were great. Wasn't busy but today, terrible service, had to remind server to bring menus, take order, bring out order, spent over an hour waiting for final meal to arrive (previous version burnt). Shame this was a great place to hang out but a little noisy.
Nachos were stale and tasted of rancid grease. Swapped out for a salad with chicken breast. Chicken was dry and rubbery with no flavor and could not be cut through with the knife that came with my husband’s burger. Salad was iceberg lettuce thrown on the plate with shredded cheddar and a few chunks of carrot. I guess it’s what you’d expect from bar food on a Sunday afternoon. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Added later: The young ladies were sweet and understanding when I voiced the bad taste of the nachos, but never offered a refill on my tea. They ate food (not from the restaurant/bar) AT the bar and paid no mind to me when I was searching their eyes for contact for a refill. To answer the owner’s questions below, my husband said the food was alright but not as good as it was 7 or 8 yrs ago. He said it was a whole lot better back then. As for me going back, that’s a hard pass. Thank you for the offer.
