This place was fantastic! We tried The Alamo, NY Buffalo Chicken, and Margherita Bianca pizzas and they were all so good. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit and will be returning!
This place is amazing and intimate. The ambience is so relaxing and perfect for a date nite or lunch get away. Our server Mr Kansas was excellent and made us feel welcomed and special. Our food was appealing and well prepared. I want to go again and try all the other dishes. Even the manager came to our table to get feedback and help us take photos. Will definitely visit this restaurant again.
Pizza crust is scratch made, and you can taste it. I got The Alamo, highly recommend it, wife got The Riverwalk and enjoyed it very much. Ended with tiramisu and it was very good as well. Staff friendly and helpful. The Riverwalk was missing the sausage, no issue at all they brought a bowl of it to resolve it. It was enough for two pizzas. First time here, will not be the last! Oh and the atmosphere is delightful too, playing lounge cover music. Parking is limited, which was the only downside of the visit.
If you've never eaten here, please try! We've been eating at Volare's for years. Great food and atmosphere. What a way to decompress and relax after a tough week.
Amazing food. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Fresh bread and butter when you sit down, delicious pasta and incredible pizza. Love the cozy atmosphere.
Me and my family stopped by this small little Italian restaurant that we haven’t had the chance to try but drive past it all the time. All I can say we are so glad we did! The food amazing especially the pizza!!! I had The chicken fettuccine Alfredo, which was excellent and you could definitely tell by the texture of the noodles that it was made by scratch. My wife and daughter had a four cheese pizz can’t remember the name of it but it was absolutely delicious!!! I wish I remembered our waiters name because he definitely gave 5 star service to our table and when we found out he also made the cheese cake. We had to order it and it had excellent flavor!!!! If you’re ever in the Alamo heights/Olmos park area or just looking for a nice relaxing restaurant for a date or a family outing you definitely need to try Volares! Trust me you won’t be disappointed the only regret we have is not having stopped there earlier!!
Just left mins ago and it was my first time eating here and I must say it was the best Italian food I’ve ever had and the atmosphere was amazing, quiet and dark my favorite lol, just loved it . The waitress wa amazing !! We will definitely be back. Thanks 🫶🏼
We had a wonderful happy hour with great servIce. The Cosmo is perfection! We are missing the larger appetizer menu that included the fried ravioli. Was always delicious! Will be back soon.
Great food. Had the lobster ravioli and the linguini picanti. Both were super good. Went on a Thursday so it was not too crowded. Live music was a lovely touch. Dude knew a lot of tunes. Made for a nice night out with the wife.
We came to Volare for lunch and it was incredible! Their lunch specials are a great value and the fresh, homemade pasta just melts in your mouth. The bruschetta appetizer was bursting with flavor. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a private Italian dining experience, and the attention to detail is amazing. Service was outstanding—friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!
I have had the pleasure of dining at numerous Italian restaurants, but this San Antonio location stands out as a truly exceptional experience. For those seeking authentic Italian cuisine paired with an impressive selection of fine wines, I highly recommend this outstanding establishment
Met a friend for lunch. At his recommendation, we ate at Volare. It was a great recommendation! The food was excellent and the service was swift and friendly. Although this is a small restaurant, they have an ample wine selection. I would return frequently but Volare is a little over 200 miles from my stomping grounds.
Food does taste made from scratch. It was good. A little pricey though for the size of the servings. Gluten free options. Although the pizza was almost to done around the edges. Server was knowledgeable and answered our questions but she didn't hover like I'm used to servers doing.
I've been coming to Olmos Pharmacy forever. I've seen it go through so many phases. Volare is a nice change. A nice, relaxing environment. Pizza was tasty with fresh ingredients and the portions were generous. Wings were good but over priced. Service was decent. We'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu. Parking is sketchy so be careful.
The pizzas are definitely large; however, they all were soggy in the middle - like you couldn't pick up a whole piece. Server mixed up our bill with anothers. He also didn't bring someone's salad.
OK. I got delivery pizza and it was great! Then I got delivery calzone. Definitely the opposite of great! Complete Ricotta bomb! Like...gross amount of Ricotta and I could not find the sausage at all. What I did find was badly undercooked! The pepperoni was fine, but not very much. Basically it was a tube of Ricotta with an incredibly difficult to cut crust. We ate 1/4 of it and tossed the rest. I might try the pizza again...but right now, I can't see it.
To Go Order: Pizza and Cesar salad. Food Thoughts: Highly disappointed with the quality of both items. The pizza was incredibly bland. The crust was OK with the bottom crust being almost limp. My main gripe is the pizza was luke warm at best, which is odd given the fact we ordered and picked up within like 20 minutes. Even a mediocre pizza can be good as long as it’s fresh, this wasn’t the case. The Cesar salad was average. Final Thoughts: I wanted to like this place as my wife and I live 4 mins away and we like to support local. Even at half the price it would not have been not worth. I’ll give this place the benefit of the doubt, maybe we’ll try again at some point next year and I’ll update the review.
I visited the original Volare location late 2019, and I genuinely believed it to be the best pizza I've eaten! When I planned a new vacation to San Antonio, visiting the relocated restaurant was #1 on my to-do list. We visited for dinner on 5/30. The pasta my girlfriend and I shared - excellent. The sauce was heavy, and the meat was superb. We rated this a 9/10. Next up was the pizza. At first glance, it appeared just as colorful and fresh as my original experience back in 2019. However, the majority of the bottom crust was extremely soggy. The wetness ruined what was otherwise a perfect pizza. I don't know how this happened (did they reuse a dirty plate)? I took a photo of the plate showing the liquid the pieces were on top of. Elva was extremely kind and understanding of the situation, I was very impressed with her service as well as our servers. She even took the plate back to the chefs as they couldn't believe the issue. Elva felt bad for us, but unfortunately the restaurant could not give a discounted receipt for the pizza issue. She mentioned a manager or the owner has to be present in order to give a discount (seems like upper management is very strict). We were already full, which is why we didn't ask for a replacement pizza. I'm willing to try Volare sometime again, hopefully this was a one-off issue.
