My #1 pregnancy craving right now lol 🔥 Been coming here 10+ years, best Oxtails in town! Their whole menu is delicious! Beats any other Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant in San Diego, in my opinion.

My pops took us to this place that I have never been to before, where we orderd 2 small plate of Oxtail and Jerk chicken dinners. After we were home and taste the food, WOW! I just had to share with my neighbors. I will definitely be going back, the food was EXCELLENT!

The best ox tails in the city. Customer service amazing very kind and knowledgeable. Tons of tails and gravy. Season to the T you can taste every ingredient. 10/10

As of now, this has been my second time visiting the Caribbean Taste. Both times I ordered the large oxtail plate, roughly $20, which comes with rice and peas, vegetables, and sweet plantains. One thing for certain, they give you an abundance of food and the flavor profile of the popular Jamaican cuisine is there. The downside of it all is that you regret attempting to eat the entire plate and later suffer from being full and satisfied; drowsiness kicks in.

If you want real Jamaican food this is a must. I've had nearly everything on the menu and it's all super tasty. From the goat to the ox tails to the chicken to the fish it is all fresh tasting and you leave with a satisfied belly. You must try the beef patty one of my favorites.. I've tried several Jamaican restaurants in San Diego and Caribbean taste is my all time favorite I keep going back and have never been disappointed. This place is a must try.

Wow, this place has some really good food. If you eat here and never been to the Caribbean, you will want to go. The curry goat is so tender and flavorful and the Jerk Chicken was just delicious with Rice and beans. The portions are enough for two but once you start eating, you might not want to share. Its a simple place, no frills but the food,mmmmm and the people are nice as well. I will be back often.

This location offered lots of tasty Caribbean dishes at an affordable price. I placed an order for takeout and was so surprised at the amount of food provided upon receipt. It was an unforgettable experience. Food was tasty and was well cooked. Make no mistake, I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit!... "Yum yum" 😜😜😜

This place was so good. The chicken was good and spicy. And not melt your face off spicy. My husband had the goat curry and it was melt off the bone good. The small plate is about 10$ and it filled us up with some to take home. A very good place. The man running it took care of us and the food was prepared and brought to us quickly. Overall a very pleasant place with authentic good food.

This review is years over due. I am happy to say from Decatur, savannah ga. to Tampa and largo cleveland, Youngstown, Dayton ohio. They have the best plate and the best flavors. I'm a old favorite so I had everything. I recommend the oxtails 😘

The Oxtails were so good, I’m from the East coast and have had a hard time finding good food here in San Diego. However I came here on my lunch break one day and now I’m going back for a dinner plate. 10 out of 10, the rice was goodt the plantains were cooked nicely!

Anyone who has anything negative to say about this place is out of their minds! Came here for some lunch and got the oxtail jerk chicken combo. Holy SMOKES! It was so delicious. The portion was huge. Everything was flavorful. As someone who has visited the Caribbean, I can say this is the real deal. Oxtails were meaty, jerk chicken had a nice kick and the plantains were amazing. I can’t wait to come back.

First time going here, they had delicious food, great service and a plentiful meal (for a big family). We ordered a large goat curry (12.50 for large), ox tail, and jerk chicken. Also we ordered the patty (beef and chicken) it was delicious. The patty is like an breaded empanada with meat inside... A lot of people were coming in ordering takeout, and also a few people eating inside. Everything came out great and we enjoyed our meal (even had leftovers). The environment is what's expected on Imperial Ave. But the friendly service and delicious food is what gave this review 5 stars! 🤙

If you’re in the area or out of the area, I don’t see why you wouldn’t come here if you love Caribbean food or even it’s it’s your first time trying it. Every bite was packed with love and so much flavor. There was nothing left on my plate once I was finished. I ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail combo, a beef patty, and a coconut water. The owner recommended what I got and she did not disappoint! The goal came out to be just under $40.00, but considering the portion size that you get along with the quality of the food, it’s well worth the price. Put it this way: I ate this meal about 20 hours ago and I’m still not hungry! This place is a gem and a must try if you live in or are visiting San Diego!

The food was 🤌🏾 superb! LARGE portions, delicious, and decent cost! The service was good. I ordered to go, but just the little interaction I had was cool. I could tell they were busy and tired as I came towards the end of the day, but they were still kind, helpful, friendly spirits. Atmosphere was cool. Music playing, lots of rasta colors and posters and such on the walls. I haven't been in the area for years and just moved back and figured I'd check them out. Had the large brown stew chicken and jerk chicken plates. Plantains weren't dry. Veggies were flavorful. My parents loved the food too. 5 stars. 👌🏾

The guy forgot/didn't hear my order, so I was a bit sad not getting my food along with everyone else... Also he was out of most stuff by 6pm. But what we got tasted good.

Good food, the stew chicken was good. Loved the cabbage mix. Got the small meal and it was a good size. I see people post that staff is not friendly. Quiet true. But they aren't mean either. Just straight forward. They are busy. Overall definitely coming back and recommending to family and friends. Long live Jamaica man

Excellent food and good size portions. Enjoyed the rice and beans that comes with the meal. We tried most of the dishes and they are all good. Sorry we missed the ox tail since we did not want to wait another 30 minutes. Cash only so be ready. The food always taste better in this neighborhood.

Ordered the Jerk Chicken and Ox Tail combo The food was amazing. Portions are huge. Lady at the counter was friendly and fast. The only reason it wasn't a full 5 stars is that the lady at the counter had to keep going to the back to help or tell the person in the back what to do so the wait was a little long. Other than that it was the best perk chicken and ox tail that I've had in SD. The plantains were excellent as well.

Went yesterday 2024May24 me and husband both got the oxtail meal it came with rice and beans, cabbage and plantains. The oxtail was flavorful and the meat was tender, rice and beans were good as well that was my favorite. The cabbage could have been better didn’t have that much flavor and they didn’t give you much of the cabbage. We also came for the patties but they were all out sadly and they were not going to make anymore. But overall the food was good and I would return again to eat here again. The service on the other hand needs to be worked on, the ladies are not friendly or have any customer service at all. I would give this place a 7/10.

I've been here several times over the years.The lady that served and cooked my meal need to learn to smile and work at her people skills. It might help to get more customers and keep them. Last time l went there straight from the airport with my suitcase and other luggage. I was sitting a the table after l placed my order. Only to be given my food in a take out package to go. Honestly speaking we went there to try a new Caribbean restaurant from what we normally go to and I’ll say I was disappointed in a few things. You can tell it’s a comfortably thing when it comes to service and the energy. I don’t mean that in a good way. 1) it’s over priced 2) they microwaved the food !!! 3)the patty wasn’t bad but it had a lot of oil 4) the vibe in there is not welcoming at all

Which already had me feeling uneasy about eating there due to the terrible customer service. Then the food came out, which was the oxtail dinner. It cost $26 for the large plate. Which is very overpriced to me due to the small portions of oxtails. The oxtails itself were very small with little to no meet on them. The vegetables weren't even seasoned well and tasted very Bland. Overall I would not recommend eating here because the portions are very small and the food isn't seasoned very well. The customer service was also very terrible which is another reason I would never eat there again.
