Gustavo took care of us at the bar and was incredible. He recommended we try 6 of his favorite tapas and they were very tasty. The bottle of wine he recommended was also exactly what we were looking for. The whole staff was incredibly friendly and made the place feel like home, 10/10 experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, atmosphere, and a place that feels like you're being served by your own family!
Costa Brava is awesome! The food and the service at this place are just amazing. The staff are all very kind and always have a smile on their faces when serving their customers. When it comes to the food, every single dish here is delicious, from the tapas to the bigger plates. I got to say though, my personal favorite is the arroz negro con sepia, it is beyond outstanding. If you are in San Diego you have to come to this place, I can guarantee it will be one of the best food experiences you will have in the city!
Popular spot for traditional Spanish tapas. Ample wine list and sangria available by the glass or pitcher. Good selection of Spanish cheeses. Really enjoyed the ham croquettes, and the patatas bravas. Fresh bread with garlic bread also so so tasty. Paella had good flavor, took 30min but no soccorat. Overall would definitely come back for more!
I absolutely love this place. I came here for my daughter's birthday and we were treated so well. We were seated within 10-15 minutes despite not making a reservation on a Friday night. The food was prompt and delicious. The service was great starting from the hostess to the waiter to the server. I will definitely come back. My whole family loved it.
Went here this past weekend and it was so good! I love the oxtail and the potato dish!! Plus they don't use seed oils. Will come back again
Great tapas style food. The pimientos and papayas braves were great as was the sausage. Drinks are generous pours! I would go again. Parked across the street in the strip mall parking lot. Easy to get in and out.
We took some Freinds here for dinner. They lived in Spain for 5 years. They were in awww about the atmosphere and food. They said it took them right back to Spain. It was an great experience for us. The server was very informative not only about the food but about Spain where she was also from.
Hands down the best Spanish restaurant in town. We are regulars here and always bring our friends, family, and even our dog! Every single item on the menu is delicious. The service is exceptional—the servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Since the staff is from Spain, it adds such a nice touch of authenticity, and it’s always great chatting with them about their lovely country.
If you are in San Diego and are into tapas, you MUST try this place. It is incredible delicious. Sangria is tasty, refreshing and served in a cute pitcher. The mixed paella was on point as well as the rabbit. If you are able, try the salmon too. And make sure to ask for Alejandra "Alex", she is so friendly and attentive. She will make sure you get all you need for a one of a kind experience.
Had a great experience with Linor this evening, Costa Brave, in San Diego. Food was great. Atmosphere was authentic, and the service was excellent. Indeed, I especially appreciated the service from Linor, who took care of the 4 of us. The dishes were flavorful too. We will be back.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Costa Brava in Pacific Beach! Beautiful and refreshing design. Great authentic Spanish cuisine. We ordered the pulpo a la gallega for an appetizer and split the paella de mariscos for the entree. Everything tasted amazing. Great wine selection. We sat on the dog friendly patio. The service was friendly, accommodating, and quick. Recommend!
We had several dishes and a couple deserts and everything was excellent! The oxtail is still my favorite. The beer choice was easy because they only have one, but it went well with the meal. We sat on the back patio. There was live music but it was still easy to talk. The service was excellent and it was a very enjoyable dining experience.
I came with my family of four for lunch here and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered a paella, filet mignon, and the porterhouse steak—all of which tasted great. We ordered several appetizers but each portion fit perfectly, each coming in small rounded plates. Overall I would definitely come visit again.
We’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years. We have celebrated so many milestones here - birthdays etc. A must for any Spanish tapa lover. Sangria is wonderful - get the pitcher. Bravas potatoes are my favorite and not to be missed. Croquettas de jamon also a savory but delightful dish. The jury is out but my family is divided on the Chistorra vs choricito Frito. Both always arrive at our table and everyone gets to eat their favorite. I’m sad the bread is at cost now, it was a wonderful accompaniment to the meal. Great place to watch Barcelona soccer, the servers are fantastic. Orlando served us today and was amazing as we were crunched for time and only had 35 minutes to eat. He really delivered. Ruben is also one of our favorites and a great addition to the wonderful staff here. Can’t wait to come back!

Great service wonderful happy hour. Its a fun place. I love their food. I can't wait to come back. Its a very unique place. I do recommend ubering as parking can be tricky.
Outstanding. Excellent wine list from Spain including Mencia. You have to ask to get paella socarrat and wait as the kitchen is often too busy.
Great tapas - pimientos de piquillo, championes, filet, oxtail, calamari. and wine! Paella was delicious! Group of 8 and had a wonderful time. Can't wait to try more tapas next visit!

This place is great. I have been to Spain several times and this restaurant captures the atmosphere, tastes and pleasures of the multiple cuisines around the country.
Great ambience and friendly staff. Love all the options. It’s a nice change for the typical beach fare found in the area.

This was a small place when it started out, but I guess the secret is out. Great tapas, happy hour, and food!
Very cool indoor vibe and the outdoor patio (tent covered plus heat lamps) was even better. So many tapas and wine choices. Only one draft beer though. (A light lager). Too many good tapas to d…
Cute enough restaurant. Metal table and chairs. Could benefit with a table cloth. Garlic mushrooms were very good. Bread was nice. The croquet Jamon was unremarkable. The paella mixta was good but lacked the saffron flavor, and there was zero socarrat. Plenty of chicken, sausage, and seafood. It was good but not great.
This restaurant has expanded a lot since the last time I've been here years prior. We were seated in the back patio where there was live music and heaters on. Dinner was a bit pricey because you're not getting much food since it's about $9-15 per tapas. We ordered a variety of cold and hot tapas. I think that their food is hit or miss. We like the croquetas, bacon wrapped dates, and mushrooms dishes. The $20 oxtail was fatty and the octopus was disappointingly chewy. The calamari was limp. The red sangria was pretty good and we ordered a pitcher of it. The creme brulee dessert was delicious. Service was good. Our waiter did a great job with our group and made suggestions on the orders.
This is a great tapas spot. We ordered plenty of food and most of it was quite delicious! Would definitely recommend the pulpo, ox tail, patatas bravas, and chorizo y butifarra. The service was a bit odd- they would clear plates while we were still eating and disrupt us to do so. I have never really had that experience before so it felt odd.
I’ve been wanting to come here based on my friend’s recommendation so I decided to celebrate my birthday here. I just got back from Madrid a few days ago. In comparison, their tapas and sangria were okay but the mixed seafood paella was good. I gave four stars mostly for the service. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He even brought me a piece of flan for my birthday and ice cream for my kids. We had a great time overall.

An oasis of Spain on a busy San Diego Street serving tapas and entrees from the old country. On this occasion, we tried three tapas with drinks. The highlight was shrimp in garlic oil, succulent and delicate at the same time. The tortilla didn't fare as well; potatoes were large chunks that were cooked within eggs. These should have been thin slices which were sautéed first before mixing with eggs. Finally, the bacon wrapped dates were quite delicious, though would have been better with bit of manchego or blue cheese in middle. Server was a kind young lady and just attentive enough without being disruptive. Authenticity of menu needs some work, but setting and service were great.
The dishes were mediocre. The octopus we had was overcooked, especially after we had a good octopus dish the day before with pretty much the same price. The seafood medley had 3 dead mussels. The Pan Y Aioli was good though, and we loved the dessert. Our waiter seemed to be avoiding interactions with us while greeting other tables very normally and well. I was okay with no interactions other than ordering and paying the check. But when there was a contrast there, it was hard to ignore the difference in treatment. The other staff were nice and responsive.
